A visit during an open day of Holdenby House when the tearoom was very busy. The sign said we don’t serve cakes we serve slabs - and the portions were substantial but sensibly priced. Wide ranging choice and good coffee. Indoor and outdoor tables

I genuinely think serving instant coffee in 2024 is a bit of a non starter - be great if that could change.Cake was great, but very ordinary sandwiches too far too long to make, even at a fairly busy time.

Went for coffee and cake. Was really disappointed. The blonde lady who served us came across as rude and hostile, and acted like she had a chip on her shoulder about something. The cake I ordered wasn't nice and very overpriced for what it was. I also paid for something else which didn't arrive, but I didn't feel comfortable telling the lady working there as she wasn't approachable. Such a shame as Holdenby House, gardens and falconry are wonderful.

We came to The Old Stableyard Tearoom At Holdenby for their Bridgerton Afternoon Tea experience. We were seated slightly later than our original booking slot due to how busy the tearoom was on this day but we were still allocated our full hour and were allowed to overrun before the next time slot. The food was lovely and all of great quality. So many cakes, we couldn't manage it all so had to take some home with us. Booking was simple and we were asked if we had any allergies or dietary requirements prior to the event. The design of the menus really fitted the theme and overall it was a great event. I believe they are doing another this month so I recommend. The only thing I would say, is that I noticed there was Bridgerton music being played but this was so quiet we could only just make it out. I think if this was slightly louder it would have made the atmosphere even more great :)

Charming tearoom in the old stable block of Holdenby House (also well worth a visit). Proper tea in proper china and delicious homemade cakes.

Lovely quirky tearoom in the old stable block at Holdenby House. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea comprises of 4 different sandwiches, crisps, scone, jam & cream, tart, brownie and a slab of cake of your choice. The chocolate & strawberry cake was delicious 😋. We will definitely return to try out some more of those cakes!

We booked for 7.30pm for 4 including our two guests. We shared two starters which were both very good. Of our four main dishes, one was mediocre and for the other we asked for the dip to be on the side only. It wasn't and the dish was rejected. It returned quickly, which made me wonder how it could have been recooked. Neither of the two waiters checked if it was OK. There were no specials which I like to choose from and the massala fries only had a sprinkling of salt and pepper. We were given dessert menus but the waiter did not return for the order. We had to come to the bar for the bill. On leaving, we noticed the waiters were busy cleaning another room. It's unlikely we will return, particularly with guests. If you needed us to leave at a certain time, you could have advised us when we booked on the phone. Meal with 2 alcoholic and 2 soft drinks £107 plus service. NB This is the response we gave to an email requesting feedback. We had a reply saying it would be investigated and we will receive a response but nothing.

We had a really lovely B&B stay here. The rooms are in a separate building to the pub - so nice and quiet. Super comfy beds and cosy bed linen. The breakfast was fantastic - a perfect old school English Breakfast - with butchers sausages and black pudding, eggs cooked how you like them, hash browns, tomatoes..... Yummy. The staff made us feel very welcome and we were well looked after. They were particularly kind to our children - sorting them out with Hot Chocolates and unusual breakfast requirements. They even went to the trouble of posting home some much loved cuddly toys that had been left behind. Thank you Billy and Team.

Unfortunately the food from here was not great. The egg fried rice was clumpy and stodgy with no egg visible and the other dishes tasted a bit old like they’d been left out too long
