A lovely friendly pub with very helpful staff. Gluten free menu with plenty of choice. Reasonably priced food, perfect for a relaxed family meal. Children's play area outside.

Came here for lunch, couldn’t fault anything, the service was quick and efficient, the food was cooked perfectly. Would recommend.

This was my second time visiting heart of England with my family it's an amazing pub with lovely helpful staff which is hard to come by now days.we had food which was amazing just want to thank the chef who was very helpful when informed of a food allergy.we will be visiting again very soon

We had a really nice meal here. The prices are reasonable, the service was warm and friendly and the pub itself was lovely. Even though it was busy when we visited we didn’t wait long for our meals and everything was very nice when it came out! We'll definitely be back.

Friendly staff, young girl with red and black hair bought over our food and was helpful. We go quite often even for our Christmas meal.

Well, what can I say. From the start, the welcome was awful, we felt as if we were an inconvenience being there. Sat at our table and had to ask for it to be cleaned as it was extremely sticky but even after it was still as bad. The whole place was extremely tired and needs a major makeover. The food was ok but to be honest we couldn’t wait to get out.

Huge thank you to steve and his Amazing venue at The heart of England conference venue. We held our wedding there yesterday. The day ran smoothly and we had a perfect wedding day. A Massive thanks especially to Ericia who was on hand virtually from our arrival at the venue. Nothing was to much bother she waited hand & foot for us whether it was driving us around for our wedding photo's or helping to dress our evening room. She without doubt is a credit to this venue. She is totally committed to her job. Thanks again to everyone that made our wedding so special.

We hadn't visited the H of E for some time so we thought it would great to have a meal there again. It was a Friday, early evening, and we ordered starters and mains, on ordering they said there were no steaks available and a little later, that there was no mozzarella, so we chose alternatives. One of us ordered a prawn cocktail which was supposed to come with multi grain bloomer and butter, however it arrived with old white bread, no butter. We asked about the bread but there was no bloomer so we asked for some butter, but they said they didn't have any. (what do they provide at breakfasts?) The alternative to the mozzarella arrived but they sent something else by mistake so we said we would just have it. After some wait we got our burgers, and we had requested 3 with fries, 1 with chips. We got 2 with chips, 2 with fries. All of the burgers were dry, with charcoal on the surface, we couldn't taste the burger. We asked the staff and they said they would try to take some money off the bill but the manager in the kitchen must've said no, so they offered to replace the worst burgers but we really didn't feel like eating anything else let alone waiting again. It was around this time that we realised there was no salad in the burgers as listed on the menu.😒 We tried hard to be friendly and upbeat but the food was so disappointing that it really spoilt the occasion. Only a refund of some of the meal would have redeemed the experience as re-doing was not worth the risk.

We came as a family of 4, everyone of us left with such a positive view of the place, the team were very helpful and polite, the food was good and the atmosphere was very warming. A place we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

Stayed here overnight after attending a wedding locally. Rooms were clean, well equipped and Stuart served an excellent breakfast.

Pleasantly surprised how close its situated to Canal {50yds}, checked into room 7 on top floor but very quiet. Room clean and en-suite good with powerful shower.All staff were pleasant and welcoming from the welcome from Billy to bar and kitchen staff. ( Liz, Billy, Danni, Jay and \Chefs Ross and Alex}Certainly recommend the accommodation and food'Will be returning when in area.Thank youSheila and Bill

Despite signs outside saying "open for breakfast" we were turned away at about 10 am because they were serving 'hotel guests' only. There were very few diners. They just couldn't be bothered to serve us. (Friday 13th August 2021). It was a blessing; we went instead to 'Granny's Café' in Weedon Village, which was all round excellent, very good food, very good and friendly service and great value. Go there instead of the 'Heart of England'.

Went here today 26-07-2021 at around 12.30pm.Quiet inside and just a few people outside as the weather has been great today.Ordered our drinks had a coke as 2 beers were not available ,then looked at the menu.My friend wanted 10oz steak with jacket potato and peppercorn sauce.Somehow there wasn’t any jacket potato or peppercorn sauce.So she had to have chips which she didn’t want and asked Diane sauce as he said they had that.I personally had the mixed grill. I asked for no tomato as I can’t stand them.Well my friends meal turned up first with no Diane sauce , so asked why, then he said then didn’t have any.Again very puzzling…On both meals the chips were extremely over cooked .Only One slice of a mushroom on each plate.very strange again.A tomato on my plate which I personally asked not for.There service was adequate but the quality and choice was unfortunately not.Will not be returning anytime soon.

Had a fantastic meal yesterday Friday 9th July at The Heart of England pub at Weedon, The food was very good, excellent recommendations for both food & drink from Chrissie the manager.Chrissie was a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble & she looked after us 100%. As visitors to the area she made us very welcome. Thank you very much.

The two for one offer is the only thing that really makes this a value for money meal. I suspect that they just double the value on the menu.The food is good wholesome pub grub.I recommend the scampi - the pasta is over priced for packet based pasta, the chicken added to the pasta was good, fresh and moist

Stopped here for a pint and something to eat before setting off on Narrowboat holiday. Food and drinks were great and we would eat here again.

We called into the heart of england for a menu as we were staying in the area. We planned what we would have the following evening.I decided on the Mega mixed grill as we were walking a lot and needed to top up! My wife chose the garlic chicken, boiled spuds and veg.We booked a table and went for tea the following day. As I ordered I was told that I had missed the last Mega mixed grill, also there was no sirloin steak, rib eye or rump, in fact the only steak was the gammon. When you look at the meals, the mega grill has the same size gammon and lots more for very little extra cost.In the end i ordered the stilton chicken with chips and salad. I was asked if i wanted onion rings, so i said ok, will you throw them in for free for the disappointment! No chance!After 20 minutes on a not so busy night someone from the kitchen came out and apologized saying that there was only 1 portion of potatoes left, we explained that that was all we needed as mine came with chips.10 minutes later the meals arrived, the garlic sauce was not very garlicky and my chicken had no stilton on top and the sauce again had little flavour. The chicken was ok. No salad for me though, i got veg too. We ate up and left, only after we left did we realise that they had not given me the onion rings that I had paid for. Very poor service and quality. ps. If you follow the social distancing arrows, you may never get out!

We came across this pub by accident and I'm so glad we did. They have an area indoors for you if you have a dog. They gave him a bowl of water. The staff were super friendly and my kids loved it. They have a play area outside. At the moment, you can only eat indoors.

Had dinner here - it was an enjoyable evening but things could be improvedPositives -very friendly and welcoming. Great service from both the male barman and young girl who was new and still training-served quickly-nice decor -food was nice and we did enjoy it (most of us)-brie bites lovely-chef friendly when bringing food (although not sure this looks professional) Negatives- staff wearing what they like, not very smart. Quite scruffy, simple plain polos would be an improvement or just smarter clothes -people who i am guessing are owners/family, just wondering into the kitchen area/staff only area as they like. does not seem hygenic -burgers did not seem the best quality, just mush (one of our party left hers)-chilli chicken melt was quite watery and thin compared to other marstons pub versions-rice was microwaved and still hard / tasteless It was a nice night, but would not return for food unfortunately. Other nearby Marstons pubs, such as the boathouse in Braunston seem to be much higher quality

Got a very warm welcome upon arrival, staff were very friendly, well organised, service was fantastic, portion sizes were huge and the food was brilliant. I have paid double the price elsewhere on Christmas Day and have been very disappointed. Everything at the Heart was amazing, I couldn’t fault anything at all.

The restaurant is very close to Bridge 24 on the Grand Union canal. Good value meals of 2 for 1 main meals. I chose the super salad with rice and lamb kofte and yoghurt, which was very good. Nice to have something a little different. Hubbie had the chicken tikka masala with poppadoms, rice and naan. Curry sauce was tasty although a bit thin.Strange though that they had run out of Marstons ale although it is a Marstons pub. Tried the shipyard ale which was unusual but very good.

Four of us stopped here for a light lunch following a short break navigating the Grand Union Canal. Whilst being offered a friendly welcome, the delivery was somewhat disappointing....1. We ordered some drinks and asked if we could run a tab and were told no. So, we had to swiftly decide on food choice. 2. We then asked for the cost to be charged 50/50 to two debit cards. Not possible!! The order had to be rerun on the till terminal and it was ‘fiddled’ to about 47/53 which was the closest possible. Not a big deal, but niggling. 3. The food did not arrive in one go with no communication to that effect and we had to ask for some missing components. Again, niggling. 4. We could have done with ordering another round of drinks and deserts but there not having been a tab running and the hassle of 50/50 payment meant we didn’t bother. Despite this, the food we had was reasonable. Towards the end of the meal, we realised that the pub is in fact a Marstons. Explained a lot. Wouldn’t visit again.

Today I took my mother and grandsons for lunch time meal. We arrived at 1.25 pm the pub was not very busy ,I went to the bar to ask how much longer it would be, the young bar man said it was just being dished out .. eventually the meal arrived at 2.45 but the food was burnt .i mean burgers cremated chips hard . The children were very hungry. I had a salad with chicken and bacon what can go wrong with a salad the chicken was like rubber. We was offered a dessert that was ice cream that looked a mess.that is the worse meal I have ever had. I will never go there again.

Bought my 90 year old mum here and had an enjoyable 2 for 1 meal with scampi and chips. Nice staff and the food was pleasant

We were traveling to a military show, Tanks Trucks and Firepower just up the road when we broke down in my husbands Dodge Ambulance. We stopped and phoned our insurance company who arranged recovery. Luckily we were right outside the pub. It was about 7.30 on a hot day. We had had no dinner so decided to go for a meal and drink while we waited for the recovery truck. We ordered food and drinks,they were very quick to be served, hot and fresh. We ordered more drinks. while we waited. Every cloud has a silver lining. While waiting we won a prize. The pub was 25yrs old and every hour they drew a table number at random to win a prize. We won two free curries. Happy days!! But as it was a Sunday they were closing early at 10.30. If we were still there, Liz said we could use the lounge area, as they would be there very late pipe cleaning etc. We were still there so we were locked in the lounge bar, complete with pool table and toilets, where we could leave at anytime, as this was the entrance for the hotel users. Liz brought us a jug of water and some glasses and even tokens for the pool table. She did pop in now and again to check we were OK and see how were were getting on. We finally got recovered at 2am. Had we broken down on a country lane we would have been in serious trouble. We would like to thank Liz and her Manager for all they did for us on this occasion. It made such a huge difference to our rather rubbish situation. They went above and beyond, helping to make us as comfortable as possible. We are truly grateful. Thank you so much. We will be back for our curry before the end of September.Thank you so much again. We would highly recommend this restaurant and helpful staff.

The young man behind the bar was good value for money, pleasant and attentive, and at two 4 one offer, didnt expect a lot, but some chicken or leek in a chicken and leek pie would have been nice.

I visited today with my mother and grandmother, my great aunt, my mother’s cousin and her partner. It was a lovely night. Meals are incredible value and the service was lovely. Billy and Paige served us all this evening and they’re both lovely people... had a smile and a laugh with them both!! I have to say a massive thank you to Billy for putting a smile on our faces with his banter... lovely vist xx

I visited the pub for the first time yesterday with my daughter and from the moment we walked in I was impressed. The barman made us feel really welcome with his friendly and helpful manner. We went and sat out by the play area which my daughter immediately went to play on. Unfortunately my daughter bumped her head whilst playing and whilst applying some ice a member of staff noticed and went and got her some ice cream to make her feel better which of course did On my next trip to the bar the barman was busy so the kitchen manager who was getting himself a drink served me so I didn’t have to wait. The team made my visit a GREAT one. It’s a team to be proud of in my opinion. Thank you all so much

Been a few times recently for drinks with family. Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. Danny is an asset.

Went last night with the family for a meal. Straight away you could see they were under staffed. We ordered our meal, after a lengthy time I was told they didn't have part of my meal. After 1 hr we had an apology for the wait. The food arrived just barely warm, 4 out of 5 dishes missing items! We did have a free drink but all in all it was a disaster. The next table who waited as long as us had their main course before their starter.. They were fuming & got a full refund. Very disappointed with the whole evening. Family meals out are not cheap so feel let down with the whole evening!!

Lovely quick food and great service. We dealt with a gentleman called Danny who is a credit to the restaurant and anyone looking for a lovely meal, should certainly seek him out!

The food always takes too long (over an hour even when there is hardly anyone in the restaurant). The staff always blame being under staffed but never seem to be recruiting new people? The place is super cheap but the food is shocking. Always over cooked and often served the wrong thing. Many better options available locally.

We were on a narrowboat and stopped at bridge 24 to pop to the Heart of England restaurant. The pub/ restaurant gave us a warm welcome. The prices were fair however the ‘2 for 1’ deal on all main meals made the visit great value saving the 6 of us over £30. We had mains and puddings and all the food was good, tasty and well presented.

Just to say a big thank you to Danny and Carl Billy and Ross who all worked so hard with very limited staffing very courteous and tried so hard when it was clear they needed extra staff well done

I have driven past here on numerous occasions, and never ventured inside. The building looks smart and well kept from the outside, and parking is available so that's plus points. On entrance, the decor is tired and dated, bit still in good condition. The seating for the restaurant is all round the building, and as a family of 8 we found ourselves seated at a lovely alcove/bay window table with ample elbow room! The menu had lots of choice, good deals to be had too, with all mains on a 2-4-1 deal. The childrens menu was adequate enough. There is no table service as such, but ordering at the bar works just as well. We waited about 20 mins for the food, which is standard for a larger establishment, when it arrived, it was on hot plates, always a bonus, and all the dishes turned up within a minute of each other. The food itself was lovely, big portions, especially for the childrens meals, but not ridiculous. And again for the desserts. The only fault would be with who I would assume is the bar manager? There was no attempt at providing any level of good service, a shrug of shoulders and a lot of sighing seemed to be the order of the day for her. The other staff seemed to be rushed, this left a lot of dirty tables, a lot of build up of plates & glasses. To which she turned her back to and moved away.

Food is consistently cold, stuffing with the roast is as hard as bricks,Yorkshire puddings just as hard.

We visited this place for the first time last year and were worried about the quality af a big multi chain pub but we needn't have.

There were 35 in our party for dinner and a section of the restaurant was reserved for us. We didn’t have to preorder our food which made it much easier to organise our get together. The food is basic pub grub and main courses are 2 for the price of 1 making them roughly an average of £6 each when using the offer. I had scampi and chips which was piping hot and very tasty. It was a large portion so I had no room for pudding. The puddings I saw looked lovely and were large portions. The staff coped brilliantly which couldn’t have been easy as we ended up sitting on 4 large tables but ordering in anything from 2s upwards. Many thanks to Natasha and her team it was just what we wanted.

Waited over an hour after first course!! Had money back as main course didn’t appear! Starters were poor & nachos returned as missing half ingredients! Staff incompetent ! A memorable evening for all the wrong reasons!

Typical marstons pub,good menu,service at both bar and table was quick and pleasant. Pub could do with a lick of paint to freshen things up. First time visited for many a year but would defiantly return when in the area.

Was passing on way from visiting family, stopped for an evening meal and was very pleasantly surprised, some amazing offers and food deals, the 2 for 1 menu was better than expected and also some nice options on the special board. We had chefs specials and even got a free dessert, the Red velvet cake was amazing!

We visited for my birthday, we thought we’d try somewhere new for a Sunday Lunch, however when we got there we were told that there was no Sunday lunch which was annoying and disappointing.We ordered from the main menu, all of the meals which came out were burnt and the portions were small, only good thing was the place was clean, the staff were friendly and the desserts were nice!

Having walked round weedon trying to find a pub that did food at 7.30 on a Tuesday evening, we were pleased to find the Two for One pub which is part of the heart of England was serving food till 8.45 . Then they checked the chef was still serving and found he refused to serve as he’d had a busy week . Plus the manager Emma wouldn’t even come out to discuss with us . Shame on you Marstons . So be warned visitors!!!

Solid two4one pub, usual pub menu. Friendly staff. You can't go wrong. Been there dozens of times. The garden is nice (when weather permits). You can combine your visit at lunchtime with a trip over the road to the super-interesting Antique Warehouse.

The rooms are out the back of the pub, so tucked away and pretty quiet despite being in a car park.

We had a great time and as we were staying at the hotel it included 20% off the restaurant food prices and as they were 2 for the price of the dearer meal I went 20 oz mixed grill and my wife went 8oz sirloin with port & stilton sauce. We cleared our plates and enjoyed the meals.Under £14 for a bottle of red to wash it down. The whole lot came to £27. The staff were excellent and very friendly.

Staff lounging around while tables remained uncleaned and covered in debris. Tables filthy. Food very poor quality. Not even worth it at 2 for 1

Staff always friendly, visit here fairly regular for a cheap and cheerful 2 for 1 meal. Never disappoints, food always hot and tasty. Well done to you guys, we will keep coming to this nice little place. Always happy and full when leaving.

I was a little wary after having a poor experience at the Boat House at Braunston in the same Marstons chain. But it is all about the service which was friendly and efficient here. The 2 for 1 offers are great value too. We felt that the steak and stilton salad was particularly good - ample salad with dressing and stilton shavings with a full sized steak cooked to order.

Change of Manager since our last visit! but I must say just as nice, friendly out on the front and doing which is was it is all about. Sorry that Paul and Chelsea have moved on and someone gaining their professionalism. Well here is to you Ashley with the changes and upgrades that are going to be going on. Wonderful stay yet again, pleasant friendly helpful staff, Great Food, Service and a wonderful bedroom.

On a narrow boat, stopped for food, great food and at 2 for 1. Very happy with food and staff. After turning around the following day, stopped again the next night. Says it all really. Very happy with food / price / service.

You get what you pay for. If you're on a budget and want a decent meal - then this is the place for you. Bar staff very friendly. Inside is a little dated but still decent.

I visited on 17th March with the family on the way home from shopping in Northampton my wife and son enjoyed their meals but I had a brisket cottage pie and was very disappointed the pastry was raw and the mushy peas were stone cold. We have eaten in the past here and been happy with the food so I hope it was a one off.

It’s a cheap chain pub, food is consistently average with the majority appearing to be standard microwave fair ... ask for your steak any way you like but you’ll only ever get over done. The service is the worst aspect though - you’ll wait for...

Travelling by narrowboat up the Grand Union Canal, we figured it was time for a classic Saturday English Breakfast. So at The Heart of England, we answered the call. It was terrible. First as "walk ins" we were not allowed into the restaurant with the other guests and had to sit separately. My wife was served burnt mushrooms on burnt toast. I ordered bacon and egg which I asked to be served on toast but No! That could not be done and the fried egg was overdone anyway. The toast bread was stale and dry. The experience was very disappointing.

We ate here on Sunday evening the 9th July. There was12, in our party and we did not book but it was quite. We organised our order it took 30 minutes to get ready as there was a lot of us which was no hassle. Food came out on time waitress didn't know who owned what and we had to get cutlery ourselves. Gojons was burned on 2 orders but as I checked other people's gojons they were also burned. Staff were clueless as to no. On tables and which customers had ordered food as we were been offered other tables items. One plate of gojons came out with limp lettuce which wasn't even ordered. The restaurant needs to scale back their menu and remove all their specials 16 is just too much

They have a very good selection of reasonably priced meals and the "Buy one get one free" deal is very good. The food was fine, but the wait was not! the place was nearly empty (4 other people) but we had to wait 50 mins for a simple meal.

The food on the whole was fine, prices ok, but dreadful service, long time waiting for food, desert arrived and left among all the main food plates, so be prepared for poor service

We booked a table for 5.30pm on the 6th June this year. My actual 60th birthday. As my elderly parents and my daughter were unable to come to my party on the Saturday we thought it would be nice to do something on the actual day. The service was appallingly slow and some of the meals very poor. Three of the party of seven had starters that were fine. We then waited until 6.50pm before most of our main courses arrived. Charred sausages on one side and heat lamp dried food. Never again!!

Room basic but clean food is crap. I was hoping for a little country place but rather disappointed. I chose this over Daventry court. Which also a bit pants but marginally better. I had room there last year and they did not clean it before I checked in. At least this place serviced the room.

Ordered my food waited over half hour then asked the waitress only to be told there was a problem with printer ? Then when the food cane out I asked why the delay and then told the could not find the chips ?Chicken and bacon salad ( if that's what it's called )Then and £17.00 bill now off to KFC for some chicken to finish my meal off

Komen elk jaar wel een keertje langs, soms meer dan eens, en elke keer tevreden. Het is geen absolute hoogvlieger , en het is op zijn Engels, scheve vloeren met vast tapijt, kleine ramen en lage plafonds.Zonder extreem te zijn echter. Probleemloze boeking en ontvangst. We waren vrij vroeg op de middag wat echter niet echt een probleem bleek. De geurhinder die we wel eens roken in het verleden was deze keer afwezig , hoewel het een regenachtige dag was. Fijn.We kregen dit keer kamer 10, beneden effe buiten het hoofdgebouw. Eerste keer daar en toch goed. Makkelijk, pal tegen de parking en niet echt aan de straat. Geschikt voor minder validen denk ik.Hebben er dit keer geen diner genomen, ontbijt was dik OK. Ze hebben nu ook vegetarische uitvoering, met betere worstjes dan de gewone!! Niet zo vettig als nogal eens voorvalt.Fijn, een vaste veilige plek, zonder de poeha maar met een hart.

Welcome was lovely and very polite. Took our drink order which arrived straight away, then left us long enought to look at menu and decide what we wanted.Both had prawn cocktail to start. Can't fault in anyway prawns were tasty and plent of them.I had chicken with garlic and mushrooms. Very tasty sauce was thick and creamy. Only fault was it should have been with chips but came with new potatoes, which would have been ok if potatoes had been cooked through and not green.Husband had swordfish with mustard potato salad. Again fish was delightful but potatoes let it down..... we did however mention the potatoes to the manager who was both courteous and helpful and gave us our sweets for free.I had the banana and butterscotch sundee nice delicate taste which finished my meal just right. Hubby had chocolate brownie and ice cream he said it was just the right amount of cheewy and crunchy and would have again.We will be back.

I haven't visited this pub for a while due to a very poor experience but, decided to call in today to see if thing had changed. Well WOW!! A massive improvement. The staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive. The food was wonderful. A great selection to choose from and not just the standard menu but, also the specials. There is so much to choose from!! The food looked and tasted wonderful, will deffo be returning here. Well done guys.

We had steak and Gammon 2 for 1 and could'nt fault it. Such good value, friendly staff, warm, well lit with easy access.

When we arrived the room was very clean. The food was lovely. However it would have been nice to have a lift rather than carrying our cases up 2 flights of stairs. Maybe those needing assistance should take note. There was no brush in the loo to keep it clean and we thought that the night light wasn't working. It was very loose but finally worked out how to put it on. Also we didn't realise that we had booked a room with twin beds rather than a double bed. But maybe that was down to us when we booked online. Overall we were pleased with our stay & would come again.

From a tiny uncomfortable room to loud neighbours, an overflowing cigarette bucket right outside the room and terrible watery eggs at breakfast this was one of the worse places I have stayed on business. No staff upon check in or check out. Sadly I wouldn't stay here again

Down to earth hotel with good food.. The meals are two for one so it is excellent value. The steak meal is really goo and freshly cooked, all for less than £14 for two. The staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to provide the meal you require. All very good.

Myself and a friend stayed at the Heart of England Hotel this weekend and we had a very comfortable stay. We were attending a local conference and chose the Heart of England because of its location - we were not disappointed. For the price we were paying - £64 a night B&B - it was good value. The pub serves good well-kept ales and the staff are attentive and welcoming.My room was spacious and in the main pub building. It was well-equipped, clean and with a huge bathroom. Yes it could do with an update but for the price was very good and cosy. My friend had a room in an ajoining outbuilding and again this was comfortable and well-equipped. There is plenty of parking and the hotel has an Indian Restaurant next door. The hotel itself is akin to a Beefeater - we did not eat there as we ate at The Crossroads Hotel (great food) - friends of ours staying at the Crossroads however complained that the rooms there however were poor and smelt of damp so we were happy to be staying at the Heart of England ! We also ate at the Indian and had an acceptable meal.We had excellent service during our stay - we mentioned that we needed breakfast promptly each day at 8.00 and every effort was put into opening on time and servicing us quickly - thank you this attention to detail was really appreciated. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and excellent - great scrambled egg !Thanks for a great stay - we will be back next year !!!

Stopped here several times for excellent top quality food .Didn't have to wait long to be served with hot tasty food.Very good value drinks ,always chatty staff and no rush to kick us out we have had some great evenings here.

We called off here on our canal trip and what a fabulous welcome by the staff. Great food and the usual 2 for 1 menu. Staff were courteous and we were well looked after. Will call in here if in the area again.
