Nice country pub with a good menu. Kath made sure we had a fantastic time with great service. Everyone enjoyed their food. We’ll be back!

Although we had an issue with the food the service was beyond outstanding a big thank you needs to go to Chloe and Colette you both made mine and my mums evening we both really appreciate it.

I have always wanted to visit this pub, and yesterday we decided to go. As soon as we walked through the door we were met with a warm welcome. The table was clean unlike some places I have been to. The food was delicious, we had the pork and cider terrine to start and as the main we had the steak and ale pie which was piping hot, and was possibly the best one I have had anywhere, the service was polite and friendly throughout and we will certainly be back.

It was a wonderful time with lovely food and a very relaxing atmosphere and a perfect place to catch up with the family news

Midweek lunch off the lunchtime menu which was very nice and a fair price . The beer prices were astronomical in comparison ,the estrella lager an eye watering £6.65 a pint . Only real downside was it felt very cold even though the radiator was on near to where we sat .

Went to the Spencer Arms during a little getaway date weekend. The food was perfect, the staff were lovely and attentive. Absolutely perfect service!

Surprisingly busy for the time of day and at this time of year. This made for a pleasant atmosphere. Stacey and her colleague worked tirelessly in making this experience a good one. We particularly appreciated their manner, which was both friendly and not unduly over-familiar. Thank you for exceptional service!

We frequent whenever we are over in Northampton. Always found it welcoming and food good. Service can be a little slow at times so this is the only area I would say need improvement but it hasn't put us off returning

Terrible service and long waits ! Food wasn't great ... very limited menu and the sausage and mash resembled a cow pat with 3 fat sausages on top and the peas were so overcooked ! Gravy was really thick it glugged out if the jug...most disappointing !!! The seating could have been better too as my friend and I felt like we were in a corridor with people rushing about past us all the time it was so cold !

Food was lovely and service was amazing, Lady that owns it is so friendly and helpful and they really went the extra mile to accommodate us. Thank you ladies we will be back xx

Delicious, lovely setting and great service all at a reasonable price!

My wife and I went for lunch, had not booked, but that was no problem. It was quite busy, however tables are not too close togther, so there was no feeling of intrusion from nearby diners. Food was of a resonable standard and the prices were competetive. Service, by Kath, was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Did not have to wait very long for our meals.

Although the pub was busy for the time if year the service and the food was great. Wedding have await for our main after our starter but we were kept informed all the way. Just a shame one if out fav members of symtaff worked his last shift, glad we got to dmsay farewell and wish him well.

The best roast dinner I have had in ages. Food was hot and very tasty. A good selection of tempting choices from the menu. Definitely visit again soon.

They had no decaf coffee on limited on food items as well

We ordered Sunday roast and all of the meals were cold. We overheard a staff member saying to a couple that sent there meal back that was cold that the plated food had been left on a worktop by an open door leading outside. Our meals were repeated and the food was hotter however our appetites had gone due to the cold lunch served prior to this. We also asked about dairy free options for mygrandson and the staff member did not have any idea of what was on offer. Pudding options are very limited as there was no stock of the puddings we wanted . The staff member did apologise and we paid just for our drinks. However as we all met as a family that live 3 hours away from each other it was very disappointing to have this bad experience. My mum lives in a care home in Northampton and that us why we chose this pub so that we could all visit her. Before mum had dementia in 2021 we would often visit this pub and at that we would have highly recommended it,but no now.

Great country pub. Food was great value and very tasty. Staff were amazing and nothing was to much trouble for the manger, from the minute we came in to leaving his customer service was exceptional. Date visit 2nd Jan@18.00. Highly recommend.

Boxing Day experience was very disappointing and slightly ruined the day. Dessert trifle seemed like messy leftovers which was left by most in the party. Some orders incomplete due to food shortages but no deductions added to the bill. Additionally there was over an hours wait between each course. I am giving 2 stars not 1 as when I have been before it was substantially better.

We visited for Christmas dinner and we'll definitely be back, lovely country pub with a relaxed atmosphere the food was excellent staff were attentive and chatty the whole family had a great day!

Very disappointed for our Christmas Eve meal ,we arrived early at 5:35pm but staff were happy to seat us early ,our drinks and food choices were taken fairly quickly and we only waited a short time for the food to come out, it was a lovely starter and so we were looking forward to the mains. We waited a while For the mains to come out not sure what the hold Up was restaurant wasn’t that busy but the bar area was packed. After waiting for our mains the server advised at 6:40pm that the food was being dished up and at 7:05pm we finally got our mains which my wife had the turkey dinner and I had the beef cheeks which I was very disappointed it looked more like a stew swimming in gravy ,20 x Brussels ,1 dried overdone carrot with mash somewhere is the dish ,I even had to ask for a spoon as a knife & fork wasn’t needed! The server did offer to change it but I wasn’t prepared to wait even longer for a new meal. The Sunday dinner is really nice there and so expected similar standards for Christmas festive menu..

Christmas Day Lunch! What a fantastic event! We were welcomed warmly, sat swiftly and drinks arrived very quickly. The staff were very attentive, the food was amazing and very plentiful and we love the atmosphere in this oldie worldie pub. We always go out for Christmas lunch but this was way better than we usually get, the biggest difference was the staff, how attentive and how many of them! We will be booking for next year!

Food was excellent, 2; turkey dinners, 1 steak and 2 sausage and mash. Couldn't have asked for better. Bar was extremely busy and Kath was running the restaurant solo Extra help on Xmas eve would have been helpful

Had our work Christmas meal here on Tuesday 17th December. The food and service were both excellent. Will definitely be coming back.

Met up with past company colleagues booking on line was very easy, one of the party is vegetarian and also has allergies but the staff were very helpful

Had to wait over an hour for food. It was so cold in the restaurant that my wife had to keep her coat on and our table was so dark that I couldn't read the menu. The place seemed empty so I don't understand why it took so long

Meal was excellent. Had the Signature Burger and my wife the Pork Belly. Service was seamless.

We visited in order to take advantage of a special offer - the venue was not on our direct journey. We were greeted well and advised that there was a delay in food service as they were particularly busy, the previous day having been very quiet. Shown to a table, given menus, our drinks order taken and executed in a timely manner. We were not in a hurry so a delay in receiving food was not a concern. When the food arrived it was well presented, cooked well and served with a smile. Taste was good. The servers were attentive and a pleasure to deal with. I am not a great fan of the big chains in hospitality but was quite impressed on this occasion.

Such a friendly, welcoming place. There was a great atmosphere here – so cosy and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I met H on several occasions when visiting, Along with other members of the team ~ All super Lovely. I would happily come here any time and highly recommend it to others. First visit here on Sunday just past, booked for 13:30, we were seated swiftly and served drinks just as quickly. The lady serving was lovely and very helpful, the food was excellent, beef rib fell off the bone, the turkey was so good, very tender and juicy, probably the best I have had! A good fill on the roast and the puddings were just as good. Very happy with the whole experience. Thank you

Kath was an absolute joy - she was so friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and she got her a water bowl and gave her lots of fuss! The roast was delicious - will definitely be back - thank you Kath!

I have tried the pub a couple of times though the staff are friendly the food was better at other chef and brewers. The menu is the same within the chain, but I would recommend the food at Ye olde Swan Mk or the Grey Hound.

Colette is always very welcoming and helpful and the food is fantastic .good Gluten Free options are also great, Look forward to coming back soon.

So cold no fire lit. Food terrible. Used this place for years. It is so sad to see it now. Needs a refurbishment and new ownership. Feel very sad a village pub is falling apart.

We dined at lunchtime. Table for 2. Aaliyah & Stacey really looked after us. We had Smothered chicken and Salmon wellington followed by Bakewell tart and Salted caramel sundae. The food was superb and portion sizes were generous. The choice of beers and alcohol free drinks was also very good. Overall a lovely midweek dining experience. We'll be back for certain. The young staff waiting on tables are excellent...nothing seems to be too much trouble and they are to be congratulated.

Stopped here for lunch on a quiet Monday. They were very attentive and accommodating. Delicious soup, toastie and coffee.

We've been going to this pub on and off for over 40 years! Like any pub it has passed through good and bad phases. We haven't been for a while so we're pleased to discover it is an up phase with a whole new line up of staff. We were welcomed warmly by Hassan and all the staff were friendly. Our drinks came quickly and our food order was taken as soon as we were ready. The food came promptly and we both enjoyed an excellent roast - turkey for me and my husband had a massive rib of beef! I would have liked less gravy so next time I'll ask to have it in a jug. The desserts were tasty but we needed a long walk afterwards. We had our dog with us so had a table in the bar area which is just as nice.

We had a meal here on a Wednesday afternoon. My friend is vegetarian and allergic to onions and they staff could not have been more helpful with advice about the dishes. We were served by Chloe and Colette who were lovely

Ten of us went to celebrate my Dad's very special 90th birthday!The staff were very attentive and kind and the meals were absolutely superb!!Everyone cleared their plates and really enjoyed their meals!!

Excellent evening, served by Colette and Hassan. They were very attentive if we needed anything yet left us to enjoy our evening. The food was delicious and my tricky to please children had empty plates. Thank you for creating a lovely atmosphere - we had a fabulous meal and all for a very reasonable price. I have visited this venue a number of times and always been very happy with the food. However a couple of weeks ago I took a friend for the first time and we both ordered the sirloin steak which was a huge disappointment. We complained at the time & was told sorry. I rang the manager the next day and was told a voucher would be sent to me in recompence. I am still waiting despite ringing again. Not happy as I have always been a loyal customer..

A lovely quiet country pub, with a beautiful restaurant. Welcome was amazing, food was delicious and the chef even came to say hello to us!! Hassan, Chloe, Aaliyah and the chef; Szymon were amazing. Chloe did amazingly at letting us know she was new and by giving us a heads up, made us feel at ease. All gave us attentive service, made my mum feel really special for her birthday. All food was absolutely perfect, we had turkey, 2 rib of beef and a pork roast. Everything cooked perfectly and came out quickly enough while leaving us enough of a break to feel paced. Really impressed and definitely will be back!! Next time we will have to try the deserts as they looked amazing but we were way too full!!!!

As a local pub to us we thought we’d give it a go. The food was fine but felt very much like chain pub food. I had a steak but I wouldn’t have it again. The team were friendly and the service was quick.

The staff were amazing and the food was good. Really good atmosphere accomodating of families and pets. The baby changing/disabled washroom had a strong smell but overall clean. The nappy bin probably needed to be emptied.

Lovely food reasonable priced too!! Good choices of drinks too and plenty parking!!

Had a great anniversary meal with my husband. Everything was wonderful it was just a shame that there were very few diners on the night we visited. Aaliyah and Hassan were great hosts. We will definitely be visiting again

Idyllic Spot for a Lovely Meal with Friends and Family. We has a wonderful meal here. Specials were huge lamb chops with bubble and squeak. Plus lots of lovely veg. So much choice for all courses. Hard to decide. Service was with a chat and a friendly warm welcome by Hassam and Lean. Made a change to have a conversation with people who actually love their job and want to interact with their customers. It was so lovely. We are going back to try their other delicious choices. Oh nearly forgot. The bakewell warm tart is out of this world. A must have next time. Thank you guys for making our normally quiet lunch so warm and friendly. Well done. x

Delicious food, nice decor throughout. Spotlessly clean toilets. Used some Tesco clubcard vouchers to get near £40 off the bill.

Decided to have a late Lunch, we decided here as we have been a few times before. The place is very good, staff were excellent, food and drinks very good.

Met with friends I had Great meal of lamb followed by apple tart.

Cute little spot staff friendly and helpful had lamb rump and the Shepard pie was LUSH. Would highly recommend. Will be back again soon

We had a really lovely meal and the staff were excellent. The food was fresh and cared about. The kid's food was brilliant quality and excellent value. Very very pleased with our evening there.

I had not visited this pub for many years so expected some changes, however I was very disappointed. We ordered the sharing cheese platter - this was put on the table with no side plates - had to ask for them. For the main course we both ordered the sea bream with new potatoes and vegetables. Our plates had obviously been sitting under a warming lamp as the food was dried, the fish was over cooked and we could only eat half of it. The staff were friendly, but seemed to prefer talking to each other at the bar than ensuring all was well with their customers - of who there were only a few on the evening we went. I won't be visiting again

Great service. All staff are really friendly and attentive. Steak & Ale pie was a bit fatty, but the pudding made up for it.

Food is reasonably priced and good quality would recommend and they do children's menu

Spent couples hours there. Sat and had couple drinks after food and wasn't rushed by the staff at all. Food was good 👍🏼.

Had Sunday roast, it was nice and staff were lovely however service was quite slow, took a while to take food orders. Food was plentiful but a little bland, definitely needed a lot of gravy but I guess that's a personal preference. I would visit again and recommend though as it was a nice place and clean. 🤗
