Nice local pub to meet up with our friends, good drink selection. I enjoy the option of the deals they do including a drink in different nights and the TVs are always playing.

I came with a friend also my granddaughter and her 2 little boys it was very busy but despite that our food was lovely and we had a great time thank you. The staff were all pleasant and looked after us.

I cannot find any fault. The staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the food was excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and was piping hot when it arrived. The turkey was moist and plenty of it, the veg was neither over nor under cooked, and the potatoes were lovely and crisp. Would highly recommend and will be going again soon.

Just revisited 11 Dec 2024 and unfortunately it hasn't got any better, the mains arrived before the starters, they were then taken back, the starter was good when it arrived, however when the mains were returned they had dried out, so not good. Tough and not tasty. At least my cats got a treat as I took the meat home. Will maybe try again in another couple of years, if it's still open. Very poor One of my local favorites no more. Starters arrived with no dips or salad, when questioned the bar staff ask what was missing, I didn't write the menu. Then waited to the point of leaving for the main which also arrived wrong, lost patients No apologies not offer of a refund ( wouldn't lower myself to ask for one) won't be bac. A real shame

I’m a carer for a young lad with severe Autism and complex needs, and we come here nearly every Saturday for food. The staff are so caring and helpful. They always make us feel so welcome and nothing is ever to much trouble. Always smiling and take the time to interact with Karun. We love it here! Would 100% recommend. Ps. Food is awesome too!

Penny the bar tender was fantastic and made us feel really welcome, we ordered the Pizzas and they were amazing! Sophie the other bar tender brought out the chef Bruno who said he really was striving to make the best pizzas. The whole experience was fantastic, all the staff were welcoming and food and drink were faultless and great value for money! We can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing place to eat - very welcoming and friendly. The Sunday roasts are a revelation! But this evening Sophie stood out with exemplary customer service - she is a credit to the pub!

The only reason I gave it a three star is lack of staff. Bar , table service were amazing especially as the waitress squeezed us in and were obviously very busy . Hat's off to the staff even in challenging conditions .

We were looked after by Sophie and an excellent meal was prepared by Chef Ryan , who made a point of coming out to see us at the table. A very personal touch by both team members who went out of their way to offer the best customer service. This is a unique experience and seldom experienced anywhere. Well done to both. Clean, good value for money and delightful atmosphere. We will be back

Cannot really fault this pub. The food was basic but cooked well with crispy chips, tasty lasagne, a crusty hot pie and fab childrens meals. Service was great and the lovely lady even sorted out a soft toy for my granddaughter when the machine didn't work. Yes, the carpet could do with a clean, but the experience was better than a lot of restaurants that we have been in and I thank all the staff for that. You are fantastic! 😃

It's OK but was long time getting food

I just want to say a massive shout about to the two chefs Jamie and Tom I think there names are. I had mixed grill tonight and it was cooked to perfection, so many flavours pouring out of the steak, and gammon top top marks, and also a shout out to the staff who were very perlite and helpful, it has improved a lot.

Absolutely amazing food, Amazing chef couldn't fault him at all. The only complaint I have is one young male was very rude and was very rude speaking to the staff. We will not be returning if he is working

We came in for food and drinks last night, we had a lovely meal and food service was quick. However there was a younger man behind the bar who had a know it all attitude when taking our order he did not make us feel very welcome upon our first visit to this pub I also overheard him speaking down to the girl who had served me previously in the evening that had said it was her second shift! I do have to say the rest of the staff were lovely and the two young girls behind the bar did a great job.

We stopped in here for a meal and some drinks and even though all the staff were extremely busy with the Euro finals later that day they still couldn’t do enough for you, the food was delicious and all at a very reasonable place. As a family we all cant recommend this place highly enough!

Haven't been since under new management. Food was amazing, staff were so welcoming and lovely. It was a treat for after Sports day for the kids. Had a brilliant evening :)

Hooray...arrived with two dogs barman smiled said sit anywhere ...menus was great and the daily specials bass and prawn linguine ..etc all great ...order at the bar for 4 took two drinks smiling barman brought the rest ..great start..food arrived promptly we made a mistake by not asking for the hot dog to have no mustard...omg returned without issue promptly replaced..boaters don't go to the boathouse keep going through the Braunston tunnel and head for the Queen of hearts off the first bridge after the tunnel at Daventry....the QOH was less than half the cost of the boat house and the are the same chain ....

After visiting your pub today i will never be returning again.... i ordered my hunters chicken without BBQ sauce because it gives me stomache aches so the waiter took it back in to get it repleced.. when the new set of chicken came it it turns out it was still the original chicken that came out just been turned over still with the sauce and re served... This is absolutely disgusting from a buisness and its a good job im not allergic to it otherwise there could of been some serious problems.. So thank you very much for messing my evening meal up.

Brilliant food and service. We first came here last year when going on a boating holiday from Braunston, and had no hesitation in returning this year. The service from all the staff is absolutely top class.

A great family and dog friendly pub. Since it's been taken over from the previous owners i have had nothing but great times whilst visiting. Sunday bingo and the meat raffle were fabulous, had such a laugh and will definitely make it a regular thing. 😊

Went here for my birthday, and ordered a macaroni cheese and beef burger, the Mac and cheese was quite mushy and plain and the pulled pork helped a little but I ended up not finishing it, the burger was far better, although one of the patties were slightly burnt, overall the environment is average British pub stuff, with the mild smell of beer, staff prepared food fairly quick and was overall nice. In conclusion I wouldn’t go here again but if you want a change than go for it.

We booked for a group of 10 for a celebration of two family birthdays. Booking process online was straight forward and confirmation email received promptly. We arrived on the day and the pub was particularly busy being a Saturday night and with FA Cup football showing in all areas, which was a bonus for me! I felt we lacked a little bit of attention, being a large table, as we had to go to the bar to order both drinks and food bit this was not a major issue as we had messy billing requirements in any case. Food was served promptly, despite being very busy, and was all as ordered and of a good standard. We felt that the food offered excellent value for money and would definitely look to return in the future. The addition of a self order app would be good for groups if full table service is not going to be offered.

Pete has turned this pub around to what it used to be. A great family pub where dogs are welcome. Friendly faces behind the bar. Really good food. No longer a half hour wait to get fed. Well done team. Just need to lower beer prices.😀

If the food portions get any smaller you will need a magnifying glass to see it! Lunchtime deal is NO DEAL as exact same is offered on the kids menu, and you still have to buy a drink. Where as a daily deal which one would hope is FULL portion including drink averages £11.00. Who does the maths at H.O.?!

Booked for a party of 19, from the very start of the experience staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food and service were both excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the standard was better than expected. Would highly recommend to family and friends and will definitely book again.

Booked a table, all good and reserved . Two of us wanted the Mixed Grill but ingredients not available? So had burgers, food hot and well cooked, stingy on the chips. Service polite and friendly, why run out of basic ingredients so only a 3.5 Stars rating.

Unable to book for 6 guests via website or speak to someone for a same day booking. Poor customer service. Visiting the area for a couple of days so was not able to book in advance. Obviously theses guys don't need the business.

Been a couple of times to this pub. The food has been okay and the bar staff always seem polite and friendly. There have been a couple of mistakes e.g. trying to overcharge for drinks, and forgetting to provide what we paid for. Despite this, even though I wouldn't necessarily recommend this pub to anyone, this pub seems like a venue we're likely to revisit to try other menu dishes.

Nice pub on a reasonable estate, lot of family groups around us and a slight wait to order food, not sure what was up with the #Karen in front of us but she got a full refund! Good range of drinks, large food menu. Three eat for less than £50, starter and main, we didn’t get what we ordered for mains but to be truthful it was all good and well cooked. Usually sides are served as sides, not here they pop them on the plate for you to enjoy. Give it a whirl of your in the area, don’t make a special visit, it’s not that special.

On the side of the building was a lovely banner of a piece of fish, chips and peas and it said “served between Monday and Friday before 3 pm”. My wife and I entered the pub with 5 minutes to spare. Sat at a table only to be told that there is no food served until 5 o’clock. The manager has decided to not open the kitchen during the week. We were informed by a friendly member of staff as we left. I am still perplexed as to how can you offer a meal that you advertising, but no one in the kitchen to cook it??

Went with a few mates for a birthday meal. They have just launched a new menu so I tried the new lamb doner kebab with extra meat, absolutely lush. Mates had steaks and burgers which were also lovely.

We ordered Roast beef which was full of gristle and had clearly been microwave reheated. However my son ordered sausage and mash which he enjoyed. I had a 30% off mains voucher which I tried to redeem after having placed the food order. I was told they couldn't honour this as the transaction had closed, so apparently this pub can't process a refund! It was my first visit but unfortunately I won't be going back as the food quality and 'computer says no' attitude didn't make for a good experience. Shame as it's my local. However we'll stick with Middlemore Farm which is only 2 miles up the road and has great food and excellent service.

We had a table for 12 booked for my birthday, great friendly service and the food was amazing as usual. Staff always friendly, lively spacious area where we were seated too.

Well the table was nicely laid for us when we arrived. Ordering was okay although they were out of veggie burgers. Then it went a bit down hill. My food was ordered off the NGCI menu and when it came out I said ‘is this gluten free and vegan’ and the response was ‘yeah, probably, yes - it is’ - not very reassuring. The children’s ’big appetites’ meal was tiny. Not suitable for an 8 year old. The fish was brought out so burnt it was inedible. It had already come out a fair bit after the rest of the food that we asked for a refund and were given one and offered a free round of drinks which we politely declined. We still ordered pudding and again mine came out and I asked ‘is it gluten and dairy free and was told ‘ummm… yeah yeah it is’. When pudding came out there were still piles of plates on our table - which I had scraped and stacked to make room for pudding’. The service used to be really friendly and personal. It was slow, at times bordering on rude and inefficient. I would highly recommend using allergy flags for food to reassure customers although considering how ill I’ve been you either didn’t give me the correct food or the cross contamination rules need to be revised because I’ve had a migraine, swollen tongue and severely upset stomach since last night so all in all not a great experience but with some small positive aspects.

This is a local pub for local people! As a stranger in town I didn't feel the welcome vibes. They keep a pretty good pint of Marsden's Pedigree though! Update: I've returned for a second visit on a Sunday lunch time and I'm very pleased with how different the place is when there are a few more people in. The staff were cheery and pleasant, up for a bit of banter too! I had the roast beef and enjoyed it immensely! I must have been in on the wrong night previously, anyway do come along and try it for yourself.

this is the first time here and came with wife with dementia from start to finish it was amazing, the nenue was first class and really spoilt for choice as was the deserts were delicious and my wife really enjoyed. I could use the disable toilet for her and everyone was magnificient jany and sharna were brilliant in eveyway and desere a medal i have booked for xmas day and boxing day and really looking forward to coming to you and to savour the atmosphere which is great. recognise jane and sharna for me

We have been to this pub restaurant a couple of times since recently moving to the area. Both times we have felt so welcome, it is definitely a friendly community pub and though it was busy, it did not affect the quality of our meals or service. We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and yes, it was right in the middle of the bingo and then the meat raffle but it did not affect our experience detrimentally, we still felt very welcome, staff were available to help, and the bingo and meat raffle was all going on at the time but we were able to chat and enjoy our family time together without any issue. The food was quick to come out, and tasted very good, they never forgot about us and even when they had run out of something they made it up to us which is far, far more than our recent experience at the Middlemore Farm pub. A big thank you to the staff at The Queen of Hearts, we only managed to get Sophie's name, thank you!!! but everyone we spoke to were lovely and we will definitely return.

We sit down and tried to have a family dinner. Myself, my wife & our children. We were interrupted the whole way through by a man over the microphone playing bingo. You should not have this going on you’re eating. Not many people at all wanted to play & we could clearly hear others moaning about this. I asked a lady (staff), if this would continue throughout our meal and she smirked at me and said “yes. It’s clearly stated there’s bingo on so it’s your fault”. How inappropriate is this comment!? Food arrived - neither my wife nor I had stuffing or another Yorkshire. Which was clearly stated on the menu if you went ‘large’ you would receive extra meat, stuffing & an extra Yorkshire. This didn’t happen. We sat for over an hour listening to bingo numbers being called, as well as the guy doing bingo telling everyone over the microphone to “be quiet” as he was “trying to call numbers”. We were sitting in the family section away from the bingo. The speakers should have at least been turned off in the family section. Shocking experience and I would like our money back and will take this further if needed.

Unfortunately I still rate this below average. I have been a few times with the family in the hopes this local pub will improve. Two lots of food was not piping hot as expected. Even one pot of tea had to go back.. Stuck finger in the teapot !. Mixed grill was tasty as was pizza. A hunters chicken was not overly hot. A steak knife would have helped. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great family meal, highly recommend and added bonus of being dog friendly

Have been here many times, but not recently. It’s always been hit and miss, but we came for a Sunday meal with someone who lives in the area. Two of us ordered the ‘large’ Sunday lunch. I really think we were charged incorrectly, as the turkey was 2 small slices and the tiniest spoon sized portion of mash. Likewise with the rest of the veg - one small each of cauliflower and broccoli, a few strips of carrots and 3 small roast potatoes. The quality of the food was fine, but not much bigger than a child’s portion. However, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and couldn’t be eaten. That should not have been served at all! The chicken lunch also had the same amount of veg and burnt Yorkie, but the half roast chicken was an adequate portion. The third member of our party had burger and chips. Again a small portion of fries and medium sized burger, but the taste was okay. This could be a really good community pub, it is trying to be. But this was not good value at that price and if they were ‘large’ meals, I would hate to see the ‘normal’ sized Sunday lunch. Felt very let down and would not recommend this pub based on portion sizes for the prices we paid.
