Pete has turned this pub around to what it used to be. A great family pub where dogs are welcome. Friendly faces behind the bar. Really good food. No longer a half hour wait to get fed. Well done team. Just need to lower beer prices.😀

If the food portions get any smaller you will need a magnifying glass to see it! Lunchtime deal is NO DEAL as exact same is offered on the kids menu, and you still have to buy a drink. Where as a daily deal which one would hope is FULL portion including drink averages £11.00. Who does the maths at H.O.?!

Booked for a party of 19, from the very start of the experience staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food and service were both excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the standard was better than expected. Would highly recommend to family and friends and will definitely book again.

Unable to book for 6 guests via website or speak to someone for a same day booking. Poor customer service. Visiting the area for a couple of days so was not able to book in advance. Obviously theses guys don't need the business.

Been a couple of times to this pub. The food has been okay and the bar staff always seem polite and friendly. There have been a couple of mistakes e.g. trying to overcharge for drinks, and forgetting to provide what we paid for. Despite this, even though I wouldn't necessarily recommend this pub to anyone, this pub seems like a venue we're likely to revisit to try other menu dishes.

Nice pub on a reasonable estate, lot of family groups around us and a slight wait to order food, not sure what was up with the #Karen in front of us but she got a full refund! Good range of drinks, large food menu. Three eat for less than £50, starter and main, we didn’t get what we ordered for mains but to be truthful it was all good and well cooked. Usually sides are served as sides, not here they pop them on the plate for you to enjoy. Give it a whirl of your in the area, don’t make a special visit, it’s not that special.

On the side of the building was a lovely banner of a piece of fish, chips and peas and it said “served between Monday and Friday before 3 pm”. My wife and I entered the pub with 5 minutes to spare. Sat at a table only to be told that there is no food served until 5 o’clock. The manager has decided to not open the kitchen during the week. We were informed by a friendly member of staff as we left. I am still perplexed as to how can you offer a meal that you advertising, but no one in the kitchen to cook it??

Went with a few mates for a birthday meal. They have just launched a new menu so I tried the new lamb doner kebab with extra meat, absolutely lush. Mates had steaks and burgers which were also lovely.

We ordered Roast beef which was full of gristle and had clearly been microwave reheated. However my son ordered sausage and mash which he enjoyed. I had a 30% off mains voucher which I tried to redeem after having placed the food order. I was told they couldn't honour this as the transaction had closed, so apparently this pub can't process a refund! It was my first visit but unfortunately I won't be going back as the food quality and 'computer says no' attitude didn't make for a good experience. Shame as it's my local. However we'll stick with Middlemore Farm which is only 2 miles up the road and has great food and excellent service.

We had a table for 12 booked for my birthday, great friendly service and the food was amazing as usual. Staff always friendly, lively spacious area where we were seated too.

Well the table was nicely laid for us when we arrived. Ordering was okay although they were out of veggie burgers. Then it went a bit down hill. My food was ordered off the NGCI menu and when it came out I said ‘is this gluten free and vegan’ and the response was ‘yeah, probably, yes - it is’ - not very reassuring. The children’s ’big appetites’ meal was tiny. Not suitable for an 8 year old. The fish was brought out so burnt it was inedible. It had already come out a fair bit after the rest of the food that we asked for a refund and were given one and offered a free round of drinks which we politely declined. We still ordered pudding and again mine came out and I asked ‘is it gluten and dairy free and was told ‘ummm… yeah yeah it is’. When pudding came out there were still piles of plates on our table - which I had scraped and stacked to make room for pudding’. The service used to be really friendly and personal. It was slow, at times bordering on rude and inefficient. I would highly recommend using allergy flags for food to reassure customers although considering how ill I’ve been you either didn’t give me the correct food or the cross contamination rules need to be revised because I’ve had a migraine, swollen tongue and severely upset stomach since last night so all in all not a great experience but with some small positive aspects.

This is a local pub for local people! As a stranger in town I didn't feel the welcome vibes. They keep a pretty good pint of Marsden's Pedigree though! Update: I've returned for a second visit on a Sunday lunch time and I'm very pleased with how different the place is when there are a few more people in. The staff were cheery and pleasant, up for a bit of banter too! I had the roast beef and enjoyed it immensely! I must have been in on the wrong night previously, anyway do come along and try it for yourself.

Accommodating staff for my fussy eating, food was spot on and place was nice and clean.

Having taken advantage of the recent 30% OFF all mains offer, we had a great evening. Staff were very busy, yet still polite, friendly and attentive. Could not fault the rump steak or fish & chips meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. WELL DONE Q of H.

this is the first time here and came with wife with dementia from start to finish it was amazing, the nenue was first class and really spoilt for choice as was the deserts were delicious and my wife really enjoyed. I could use the disable toilet for her and everyone was magnificient jany and sharna were brilliant in eveyway and desere a medal i have booked for xmas day and boxing day and really looking forward to coming to you and to savour the atmosphere which is great. recognise jane and sharna for me

We have been to this pub restaurant a couple of times since recently moving to the area. Both times we have felt so welcome, it is definitely a friendly community pub and though it was busy, it did not affect the quality of our meals or service. We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and yes, it was right in the middle of the bingo and then the meat raffle but it did not affect our experience detrimentally, we still felt very welcome, staff were available to help, and the bingo and meat raffle was all going on at the time but we were able to chat and enjoy our family time together without any issue. The food was quick to come out, and tasted very good, they never forgot about us and even when they had run out of something they made it up to us which is far, far more than our recent experience at the Middlemore Farm pub. A big thank you to the staff at The Queen of Hearts, we only managed to get Sophie's name, thank you!!! but everyone we spoke to were lovely and we will definitely return.

I went to a birthday party there ..I was surprised by the quality and variety of food on the buffet.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much, we have booked our Christmas Day Dinner at the Queen of Hearts.

Unfortunately I still rate this below average. I have been a few times with the family in the hopes this local pub will improve. Two lots of food was not piping hot as expected. Even one pot of tea had to go back.. Stuck finger in the teapot !. Mixed grill was tasty as was pizza. A hunters chicken was not overly hot. A steak knife would have helped. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We sit down and tried to have a family dinner. Myself, my wife & our children. We were interrupted the whole way through by a man over the microphone playing bingo. You should not have this going on you’re eating. Not many people at all wanted to play & we could clearly hear others moaning about this. I asked a lady (staff), if this would continue throughout our meal and she smirked at me and said “yes. It’s clearly stated there’s bingo on so it’s your fault”. How inappropriate is this comment!? Food arrived - neither my wife nor I had stuffing or another Yorkshire. Which was clearly stated on the menu if you went ‘large’ you would receive extra meat, stuffing & an extra Yorkshire. This didn’t happen. We sat for over an hour listening to bingo numbers being called, as well as the guy doing bingo telling everyone over the microphone to “be quiet” as he was “trying to call numbers”. We were sitting in the family section away from the bingo. The speakers should have at least been turned off in the family section. Shocking experience and I would like our money back and will take this further if needed.

Good food, great beer. Not much else you could want from a pub visit! Chips were hot and crispy too which is a big thing for me so well done 👌

Great family meal, highly recommend and added bonus of being dog friendly

Have been here many times, but not recently. It’s always been hit and miss, but we came for a Sunday meal with someone who lives in the area. Two of us ordered the ‘large’ Sunday lunch. I really think we were charged incorrectly, as the turkey was 2 small slices and the tiniest spoon sized portion of mash. Likewise with the rest of the veg - one small each of cauliflower and broccoli, a few strips of carrots and 3 small roast potatoes. The quality of the food was fine, but not much bigger than a child’s portion. However, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and couldn’t be eaten. That should not have been served at all! The chicken lunch also had the same amount of veg and burnt Yorkie, but the half roast chicken was an adequate portion. The third member of our party had burger and chips. Again a small portion of fries and medium sized burger, but the taste was okay. This could be a really good community pub, it is trying to be. But this was not good value at that price and if they were ‘large’ meals, I would hate to see the ‘normal’ sized Sunday lunch. Felt very let down and would not recommend this pub based on portion sizes for the prices we paid.

This is continuing to be a great family pub, with a fantastic atmosphere. The now not so new manager is welcoming and really doing well with this place. The staff are also quick and efficient at their job and the days of waiting ages to get served are long gone!! A nice local pub once more

This is one of my favourite pub restaurants to go to. I consider myself lucky to live within a walking distance of it. As someone who is fussy about melted cheese this is the only restaurant besides domino’s and Pizza Hut that I’ll order pizza from, it’s always great. The burgers are wonderful, fantastic chicken curries and a good selection of drinks to top it off. Favourite. Restaurant. Ever.

Just stumbled upon this pub while staying in a hotel nearby. We had some drinks and food. Quality as you would expect in a pub and decently priced.

Not a bad local, hadn't been here for a while as it went down hill but wasn't pleasantly surprised and have come back a couple of times since.

Standard Marston pub with pool table, darts and good TV for live sports

Food was very good here would definitely recommend and a nice atmosphere. That being said female bartender was lacking in customer service experience or did not want to be there .came across as rude towards every customer during my visit. Will say that the gentleman that brought food over and served my wife was very nice and an asset to the team. Main course of burger were fantastic well put together ingredients and served incredible hot was not waiting in the kitchen for long. Ice cream sundae was good but not as described on the menu missing ingredients,but still very nice.

I recently visited the Queen of Hearts pub in Daventry. This is probably my 5th visit. It's a decent pub with interesting interior decor. They have outdoor tables and a playground for kids, and the place is pet-friendly. The drinks and food were good, our table was a bit sticky... Don’t want to be mean but the staff seemed a bit tired and not very friendly, but overall, it's a good pub in Daventry that I would recommend checking out.

Play bingo on a Sunday dinner time whilst having your dinner, that was new.

Steak was so small. The waiting time was so long even to get a drink. Wouldn't recommend. Told manager she didn't care.

Nice staff but not enough of them. Only 1 beer available out of 4. Chicken tikka had no mango chutney and was like soup with a couple of small pieces of chicken. Eaten at lots of Marstons places and usually very good

Omg never have I felt so let down by staff and food, 6 of us went out for a birthday lunch, food came out straight away I could see the fish finger and chicken nuggets on the kids meals were burn as were my breaded mushrooms, they did replace the mushrooms but The new ones you could squeeze the oil from them I could not eat them, one of us asked for pineapple with the gammon steak but ended up with over cooked eggs when we complained to staff they said oh well. Then I get to my salad I called the staff over and Linda came to the table I asked her to look at the salad and asked if she would eat it and she say no, so they burned our food replace it with unacceptable oily food gave us rotten and limp salad that they wouldn’t eat themselves then they had a nerve to charge us £64 when I went to the bar before I left Linda didn’t want to know and acted like she didn’t care!! Thanks queen of hearts for a crap birthday meal you sure know how to make people feel NOT VALUED, this is one local we won’t be supporting.

We booked a table for 4, all good and all Covid rules observed, staff said to a couple of people about wearing the mask.The place is COLD, doors left open due to Covid??? But all night!Ordered starters and Mains, our starters were 3 the same but only could provide 1?The 4 main meals all cooked okay, 2 hot ,1 warm? and my daughters was cold. We sent it back but she said to us carry on eating and hers arrived a bit later and ate most on her own. IT was her birthday!!!The deserts were nice and service was good.Would have stayed for another round but the doors are open so wont eat in there if its cold again. by 8.15 the place was nearly empty

The food was very slow it took over 2 hours and the people next to us got there food before we did and they had the same food it wasn’t the best it was quite cold and steak was very chewy I would not recommend this place unless you are free all day and you don’t want a very nice meal

The way they have staffed this pub is fantastic, name etc taken when you arrive, hand sanitizers are located around the pub, you order your drinks and food, the arrows and 2 metre markings are plainto see with arrows pointing the direction you need to take. Made us feel welcome and safe, certainly return again recommended it to anyone who is local or just passing through.

First time going back in a pub since they have reopened and we were slightly nervous, but as soon as we were greeted at the door we were put at ease. A lovely lady asked us all to sanitise our hands and do the track and trace, we were shown to our table and all the social distancing measures were explained to us.We ordered our food but was told there was a wait which we didn’t mind as we know there is only one person in the kitchen. Food came out and it was lovely. Well done to all the staff, all working hard in these uncertain times and making everyone feel at ease.Will be back very soon

Myself and my family visited the Queen Of Hearts Wednesday night. The pub was very busy (thank go we booked a table) and had a great atmosphere. When entering we were asked to sanitise our hands and complete a trace and track app and informed of the new way things were to be done, we were quickly seated but warned there would be a wait on or order as they were very busy and they could only have one chef in the kitchen, this was fine as you could see there were no empty tables around. We went to the bar to order our food and again we were told about the wait on our food. When the food did come it was really good, nice and hot and plenty on our plates, we decided to have desserts after our meals which were the perfect choice to finish our meal. What a great deal we had 5 mains 5 desserts and 5 drinks nt much over 20 pound. We felt very safe here and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back very soon.

Waited 1 hours 40 minutes for food. We kept asking how long it was going to be kept getting told 10 minutes every time we asked. When the food came out it wasn't warm.Drinks were expensive. Wouldnt recommend this place at all.

45 minutes for this to come out! Absolutely ridiculous! No social distancing rules, just some hand sanitiser on the wall and told to come in - people standing at the bar and everywhere.

Visited here as wanted a change from our usual rugby pubs, we booked a table no problem, upon arrival we were greeted and asked to fill in track and trace and sanitise hands, we were seated quickly ordered food at the bar, however I was disappointed with my food, asked for medium rare steak which I didn’t get was over cooked and started to become dry in my mouth after a few mouthfuls, also the nachos sharing starter hadn’t seen the inside of a microwave all other places have melted cheese on them this didn’t happen here, but we ate them thinking this is how they are prepared here, also the melt in the middle pudding didn’t melt in the middle, didn’t complain as would of been there all night , other than the food issues the staff were friendly enough and doing there best in this difficult time but unfortunately we won’t be back here

Food ok and beer ok! Nothing special and no personal feel even though staff are friendly and covid 19 safe! Pints expensive ! Better off going to white horse in Welton or plume of feathers in Weedon for better pints and atmosphere

I went to the Queen Of Hearts as my first outing since the relaxation of lockdown and when I got to the door I was asked to sanitise my hands and set up my details for track and trace. I was served behind the bar by a lady named Robyn who was very polite and informative on the guidelines of the pub and she provided an amazing customer service. The beer garden was lovely to sit in and overall I had a lovely experience here.

A lovely pub with some amazing staff, I was politely asked to sanitise my hands upon arrival and to fill a track and trace form online which I was happy to do, seated in a nice area and also the garden is lovely, food is just as good, and also a little accident occurred where a payment didn’t come through and one of the staff Robyn let me know in the most professional and respectful way, just to let me know which I highly respect! It was just a security check on my card and it was all dealt with, I 100% enjoyed my visit here and would recommend.

The first thing that we had to do when coming in was walk past a bunch of tables clearly not social distancing, and then at the bar we didn't get noticed for a good few minutes until some employee came over and reluctantly asked us what we wanted. Turn's out that they don't serve food after 8pm any day so that's already a bad start, we go to leave and a waiter blocks us from going through the entrance despite no-one being nearby and forces us to walk through more of the not at all distanced restaurant to a side exit door. Not appealing. However I didn't want to write a review without actually trying it out so I went back again a few days later, still no social distancing, waiters weren't the best but the food was actually very good especially considering the price. They also have a small play area and while I am not a parent myself I see how that could be useful to get those whiny children to leave until the food is here. While I know the main part of a restaurant is food and pricing, the overall vibe was not the best and I don't plan on heading here again anytime soon. Although if you don't care about the experience and just want some good cheap food, go to trawlers across the street.

Definitely a good place for a large group to eat at for a cheap price. Main meal + drinks at an average of less than £10 per person was excellent value although those with big appetities should probably also budget for a starter and/or dessert.

Normally I would've thought of this pub as a great place to have a quick pint and meal, but because of the experience I had today when ordering my drink at the bar, it has lessened my view of this place. The woman behind the bar I felt was cold towards me, didn't make any eye contact, seemed uncomfortable. I didn't feel welcomed by the staff behind the bar, and I'm concerned that this may because of how I present as I'm a transgender man. Now aside from this, I would recommend visiting the Queen of Hearts if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal. The seating is spaced out, it's comfortable and there is always a spot available to sit down. The prices are good too. Hopefully next time I visit this place, I'm regarded as human and not looked at with judgement. I know you can't help anyone else's opinions, but it does help feeling welcomed and settled by the staff serving you.

Hi we went for a family meal before you even get in the pub you have you walk through lots of people smoking in front of the front door and me and my family don't smoke and we smelled of fags all the time we was there and the people behind the bar are very rude but one of the bar staff stuck out is name is Jack and he is the only reason we would come back here

I popped in for a drink on the way back from my bike ride. Very friendly atmosphere and I was made welcome. Well worth a visit as they have an extensive menu

I booked a Saturday night evening meal for a group of 18. Pre-ordered main courses and meals were all on the table within 10-15 minutes of us being seated. Excellent service throughout and very reasonably priced meals. I would definitely recommend to big groups. Less than ten pound per person for an evening meal and drink.

Just had my first visit to the queen of hearts. Nice looking place friendly staff, we were in there at 6pm so not to busy. Wasn’t that hungry so decided on a curry. It was very good , the lamb was tender, wasn’t a great amount of meat but them £7 for the whole dish isn’t expensive. It’s a marstons pub, so you get the normal marstons beer. It has a big menu with some great deals. They show the footie here on some big tv’s. Plenty of free parking

That was a really tasty well cooked thin base Italian-style pizza. "Veg Patch". Served on a pizza stone using semolina flour and with a pizza cutter. As you can see there's none left!

Came in for a family meal on Sunday. The food was really good and served quickly, I would recommend pizza every time as it is always good, service is always good and would always you this for family occasions

Went for Christmas day lunch. Never again. What can I say they just couldn't cope. People left waiting hours for their meal. Not that brilliant when it did eventually arrive. The waiter said the kitchen was having a meltdown !! We went be back here anytime.

We booked our Christmas Dinner here as a group of 2 families and were slightly worried immediately by the bar staff who appeared to not know what red wine is. All in all, to get a drink each and sit down was around 20 mins.

Booked a meal for Christmas Day, with my family. Lovely friendly staff as always. I had the garlic mushrooms for starter, turkey for mains and the roulade. Lovely meal. The day was very busy for the staff lots of full tables. Well done to all the staff on a good day.

We booked here for xmas dinner and we are really glad we did. We had never ate out anywhere on xmas day before so this was a first for us, when we arrived the staff were very welcoming and there was a great atmosphere(pub looked amazing with lots of decorations). We were quickly seated at our table and the food started arriving, the starters were really tasty (I had the mushrooms which were very tasty, the mains which were turkey were very good and had plenty on the plates, we did wait for our dessert but that was at our own request. Overall the whole experience was really good at will be booking for next year.

Had a lovely meal here today with my family, I had ribeye steak cooked lovely and just melted in my mouth, the rest had burgers which looked good. Food came quickly and plates were removed when we finished.

Friends and myself had a great lunch at The Queen of Hearts on Christmas Day , the atmosphere and decorations were superb. Real homely pub was very busy. Served well, staff was good and friendly they looked after us and we all enjoyed our food very much .

Booked Xmas dinner at the queen as a family of 8 and it was worth every penny. Didn’t wait long for our starters to arrive to our table and all was delicious, staff were quick to take away the plates when we finished and we only waited 10 minutes until our mains started to arrive( just enough time to grab a drink at the bar) mains were amazing and so were our desserts. Staff were very friendly and even though very busy made time to have a chat at our table. Hats off to ALL the staff that made our Xmas day a day to remember..... WELL DONE will be booking for next Xmas xx

Came for Christmas Day dinner as family did a group booking. To say it was awful would not be an over statement. The whole meal took over 2 1/2 hours as we waited nearly an hour for the starters to arrive, hour and 40 minutes for mains and then waited again for deserts. The deserts arrived while the table was still full of plates from main course (why do staff walk past the table to the kitchen empty handed when plates need clearing??) and the food was terrible (I would only credit the roast potatoes and desert as being ok, and I bet the desert was bought in and not made anyway!)

Nice friendly place to eat, small playing area for children but was quite dirty on day of visit although it was a dry day, the pug isn't very well lite and found it quite dark in areas by the entrance food was ok and staff were friendly.

8 of us visited for Sunday lunch, including 2 children. Ordered various meals including burgers. The large all day breakfast was apparently good - plenty of it and nicely cooked. Reasonably priced and not too long to wait after ordering. Will continue to use this local pub.

Menu looked good and very reasonably priced. Burger was jet black burnt to a crisp. Chips were odd, and not many of them. Fush platter looked nothing like photo, scrawny piece of curled fish, very overcooked which made it dry. Scampi watery/tasteless. Best bit was onion rings. Pleasant enough pub, but will not bother to return. Shame as we are local and xmas dinner very good price, but after this, wouldnt chance christmas day.

We visited on a Sunday with our party consisting of five people, ranging in ages from 80 down to 9.

Very reasonably priced pub with a good selection of beers and food. They have daily deals on their food which are good value. Only down side is they don’t have sky sports, just BT sports.

Food average, ok for the price. We come here a often only in summer as we live across the road. Although, we would come here more in the winter if there was an area inside that allowed dogs. Due to there not being an area that accommodates dogs, we choose to eat and drink elsewhere.

On first impressions this is now a lovely looking pub! The menu is also extensive and has some nice options.

I came back as it was a nice warm day and was cycling daventry. Very clean inside with the sport on the screens and quite busy. I had a drink and very pleasant staff only to happy to serve. extensive menu especially for children

When my 5 year old wanted a grown up dinner with 10 of her friends for her birthday, we knew the Queen of Hearts would be perfect! Good value children's meals, good service, lovely staff, very accomodating and a great play area for kids to burn off energy. She had a lovely time and we will be returning again, one of our favourite family restaurants to go to in Daventry.

Top pub close to the above hotel which handled the lots of people that ate there on Saturday evening who were attending the annual pinfest event at the hotel down the road. Great choice of dishes and reasonably priced too.
