The Saracens Head Inn in Daventry

So so experience. Some of our group practically finished their meals before others had been brought out. Lots of missing items, no onion rings with gourmet burger, only 5 nuggets each with Katsu Curry for 2 of our party when there should of been 8 pieces each! Once waitress was informed extra nuggets were brought out but no curry sauce to go with! Substantially different sized dessert portions for the same item, was literally a half portion. Ran out of dessert spoons was given teaspoon! Felt sorry for the apologetic waitress, when the problems clearly were in the kitchen!.

Usual 'Spoons fayre in a great setting. Toilets were up only one set of stairs and very clean. Service was prompt and staff friendly.

Standard Spoons serving good beer at half the price of anywhere else. Fast service, friendly atmosphere, huge building. No parking to speak of but plenty nearby. Food ok, but not as good value as the beer for some reason. Weird meaningless pop art on walls is a bit of fun. Toilets as per usual upstairs, but clean. Wheelchair access unknown.

If you ever must end up here just stick to drinks if your used to anything of taste. The seats are comfortable and you wont be charged massively for the food they peddle.

Our first visit today and we were really happy with the food and drinks . We will definitely going back .

Great food !! Served quick as ordered on app, lovely location close to shops and clean inside . There is no parking at location but there is available parking on side road and massive free parking near park also parking less than 1 minute away .

Its ok for a quick English breakfast nothing fancy.

This is a typical Wetherspoons Pub. Great value and a good range of choices on the menu. It has lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Just Wetherspoon, no frills pub. Prices offer good value for money spent. Quite busy place what confirms that people need socialising. Flat TV screens allow watching sport events and news. But there is a little zonk - no voice, picture only. Cost saving measure, JD WETHERSPOON didn't buy full license. It is good place to have a pint or meal, mingling with other locals. Check daily for Manager's Special offers. Really good value for money. During Real Ale Festival I had an opportunity to try several guest ales.

Unexpected for a midtown restaurant. Recommend to step in!

This pub is fast becoming a favourite stop when travelling south. A cut above most other Wetherspoons

Perfect cooked breakfast , the traditional 2 hash browns 1 sausage 1 egg baked beans 2 bacon toast and butter unlimited tea and coffee £4.16 truly amazing

We brought 2 8" pizzas and are probably not evan 5" they are so small we get these every time and they have gotten smaller every time the plate itself is probably 8"

Pleasant meal .very busy staff reasonably efficient..wine had a taste of sarsons but it's cheap.

Worst wetherspoons ive been to, not enough staff to get served at bar so ordered on app. Waited nearly an hour for 4 drinks and a breakfast.. Not be returning to this place. Very poor...

Sad to say of the 133 Wetherspoons visited it is the longest I’ve had to wait for my food after placing my order, 1/2 an hour for a salad 🤔 I asked the waitress if they were short staffed, no just busy, definitely missed the 6 minute target Otherwise the chicken was nice

Went there to have lunch, Monday 28th not very busy but there was a lot of dirty tables the food was alright and served in a fairly reasonable time but unfortunately served in a chipped bowl…… disgusting !!! I won’t being going back yuk!

I have eaten here on several occasions, food is not bad (standard Weatherspoons fare) can be very busy and noisy as it is a large property. Usually has at least two ales on tap and so far they have always been good on my visits. Can't fault the prices though considerably lower than other licenced premises in the town. I would not recommend it for a 'special' night out but great to grab a cheap meal or drink maybe on your way out.

It was a quiet Monday evening but there was still good banter from the locals . I drink IPA & i have too admit my "Moose River " was A1 FANTASTIC!! I'm a guy who is by admission "a little rough around the edges" i will put up with most things but i like a CLEAN LOO !! ...i could of eaten lunch in these loo's !! SPARKLING!! I hope " Mr Spoons" see's how good this place is !!!!

Really busy sunny afternoon when we went there. Couldn't find a spare table outside as it is a popular pub, very few pubs in the town centre with an outside seating area in the sun. Pay on the app is the one we use most often, nice and easy. Didn't eat this time, but we have before. You get what you pay for, food is cheap and quick to arrive, hit and miss with the flavour, depending on what you order.

Was very busy in the afternoon but we had breakfast was delicious although it take a while to arrive.

It’s a Weatherspoons, but it’s one of the best Weatherspoons I’ve been too. Beers are well kept and I would say some of the best in Daventry, food is cheap and cheerful (which is what I expect from a Spoons) and the staff are always decent and up for a laugh. Best of all though it’s awesome value for money!

Ordered Jacket potato with chilli and cheese - it came with no cheese Went to bar to complain was completely ignored, two men who appeared to be regulars were served before me. Another lady came told her the problem but had to order some more cheese - £1.45 and when it came it was I slice that would go with a burger!! Poor service and £1.45 for a Cheese slice ??? Not had a problem there before.

This is our favourite Wetherspoons pub In the area that we live in. It is always well staffed, the staff are friendly and the service prompt for food and drink.

Pizzas are amazing. Great food for an amazing price. Can't fault.

Never visited Daventry before and satnav took me to a large free car park just minutes walk away from the Saracens Head. Loved the lay out of this place, it has differently sized rooms which create a nice atmosphere. There's also a room upstairs with a gallery overlooking the bar area. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately couldn't sample any ales as I was driving but noticed at least 3 real ales plus the usual Doombar and Abbot. Stayed for lunch and overall had a most enjoyable visit.

We had a meal here and both my rice and my daughterd rice was just warm, when we asked if the rice was warm because it had stood for a while or was it because it hadn't been heated up properly, she replied that it probably hadn't been heated up properly! As most people know bacteria called Bacillus cereus, can grow on rice when partially heat or left in a warm kitchen. My daughter is 6 months pregnant and it could make her and her unborn child to be very ill.. Needless to say we wont be going there again. It is not very clean either. 😕

Don't order the chicken and stuffing burger, it's like trying to eat a shoe!

Very busy. Ordered light fish and chips with mushy peas and 2 soft drinks. I had the chicken bits. The food was very nice and hot. Had no salt or mayo, so we went off hunting for it, would have been nice to have been told where it is. Bar service excellent. Parked in Bowen square.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Me and my friends went to weatherspoons yesterday evening to enjoy a cheeky beverage. We were spoken to by the duty manager in an absolutely appalling manner and got accused of harassment to a member of staff. We proceeded to ask for their CCTV proof of such behaviour and they refused to show any proof. We shall not be return and will be taking further action.

appalling customer service, there is one member of staff that had physically harassed my friends on multiple occasions, she is very rude and should not work in a business that involves humans as she is unable to communicate positively with people, this should be sorted out immediately as this is unfair and disgusting. furthermore, my friends have been accused of harassment, even though it is not true, and another member of staff wouldn’t show any evidence after throwing wild accusations around like that, my friend can’t even go out without staff members being rude, this should be sorted out immediately. the food is gross and so are the drinks with loads of ice in them, rip off.

1 star is a push for this place, the food is fine as you'd expect from a Wetherspoons and the drinks are substantial. However the real problem is the staff. There are a certain few with excellent customer service, but surprisingly all do not follow, on multiple occasions i have been elbowed and my hands have actually been smacked by a member of staff, she has shouted and sworn at me, and a large group of others. and then when we asked to speak to someone about it. she got me and my friends banned for harassment. this is not okay. i am calling for further action.

Weatherspoon's pub ordered a cheese burger and beer £6.50, when received my order chips were just say warm and burger was missing the cheese. I did not receive a new order just cheese placed into the bun.. shocking

again went down Sunday no mixed grill available no field mushroom or onion rings on plate asked to see owner ( not around what a surprise) very poor 50£ to 100? do u want to turn away ? very poor

Although the there prices are amazing the staff were friendly & polite the food tasted amazing there were a few issues my 5 year old daughter ordered a kids pizza meal which is supposed to come with cucumber fingers & tomato wedges but whe she received her food was only given the pizza. then for dessert my daughter orderd the 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream that was supposed came with sauce & chocolate chips but when she received the pudding only had 2 scoops of ice cream the kids meals ant exactly that big to start with so when you start missing out items the result is the children dont get as much to eat & they are still hungry an hour latter

Jacket potato - Tiny in size and over-cooked so that a third was inedible. Tuna mayo filling - Questionable as to wether any mayo was present at all. Dark in colour and a taste like vinegar that makes you wonder how old it really is. Salad dressing - thick in texture and tasted more of vinegar* than anything else. *Is this the cover up technique for not replacing ingredients that are past it? Sauce sachets out of date also. The number of flies in the establishment and the above points, suggest low standards for cleanliness and food hygiene. Comparing only to other Wetherspoons; this is pretty bad. Sad working lunch.

Bacon on a vegetarian breakfast... interesting addition. No replacement , however the chief is new or that was the excuse. Never again.
