Great food, friendly staff, good beer, nice place

Great selection of beers at very good prices. Whilst not the cleanest, it more than did the job and is very spacious too! Good craft beers!

Just Wetherspoon, no frills pub. Prices offer good value for money spent. Quite busy place what confirms that people need socialising. Flat TV screens allow watching sport events and news. But there is a little zonk - no voice, picture only. Cost saving measure, JD WETHERSPOON didn't buy full license. It is good place to have a pint or meal, mingling with other locals. Check daily for Manager's Special offers. Really good value for money. During Real Ale Festival I had an opportunity to try several guest ales.

Breakfast spot of choice. Unbeatable value. Not bad quality wise. Staff always very helpful and friendly. Quick, bargain option.

Ordered food and only half of my food order arrived. Went to attempt to sort it and ended up with a small refund. Awful place.

Bar drinks were nice and cold. Staff were helpful. Food was average to awful. My child wouldn't eat it, so I tried three different meals. Fine for a drink but don't bother with the food. Very disappointed as I drove 90 mins to meet family at this pub

If i could leave no stars i would new manager has no idea does not know his customers and beer is warm (as coolers are not turned on early enough ) food is prodably the worst in daventry it maybe cheap but i would rather pay a bit more for quality toilets are ALWAYS a problem as they are constantly closed i would advise to give this place a miss i have lived in daventry all my life this pub is the WORSTED DONT BOTHER One ther thing if you read all the reviews non ever GET A RESPONSE thats how much they care CLOSE THE PLACE

Incredibly low price for traditional breakfast and unlimited coffee, will definitely return. Mains are also always good, and very nice staff too👍. Nothing to dislike great place!! and a little "history" on the way building too!!

I am very disappointed with my recent experience. I had to repeat my order multiple times, specifically requesting a beef steak, yet the server still entered the wrong item into the system. Despite clearly stating that I did not want pork, she entered gammon into the computer. It wasn't corrected until another staff member intervened. When my steak finally arrived, it was of very poor quality – one of the worst meals I have ever had. Additionally, while I was placing my order, another customer came over and laughed at me for ordering food at 10:30 PM, which I found to be quite disrespectful. Overall, this experience has left a very negative impression. The atmosphere lacked class, the food was disappointing, and there was no music to create a pleasant environment. Based on this, I will not be visiting this local pub in Daventry again.

I have been here before as the service and food quality had been ok but yesterday, going there for a family member's birthday I was struck (again) by the lack of cleanliness with sticky tables and food on the floor and a very sticky floor in front of the bar. I know we're talking about cheap and cheerful and the food we had was fine, but a little more effort on the hygiene front would have made it a better experience.

Lovely building,cheap beer as all weatherspoons, disappointing that staff are in no rush to serve,helpful however very monotone. Food is slightly a let down,takes awhile to come and then is often only warm never hot. How can go you go wrong with beans on a fry up. The toast doesn't melt the butter as an indication. Overall I'd give a 3/5. Plenty of space to improve soo much if they could be bothered but it seems to be minimum wage minimum work

Standard Spoons serving good beer at half the price of anywhere else. Fast service, friendly atmosphere, huge building. No parking to speak of but plenty nearby. Food ok, but not as good value as the beer for some reason. Weird meaningless pop art on walls is a bit of fun. Toilets as per usual upstairs, but clean. Wheelchair access unknown. Update 23/7/24: Just had steak and chips there. 12.99 for 2 pints of beer and a steak meal! Unadorned, just the meat and the chips, but that steak was THE BEST STEAK I'VE HAD IN YEARS. 5 star food @ 1 star price. Look down on the Spoons at your peril.

Food was undercooked and the cutlery was dirty. Staff were stood in the kitchen with the door open smoking facing in to the kitchen

Took Dad out for Father's day Went early 9am and ordered straight away. Delivery of breakfast came quite quickly. Glad we came when we did as getting buy by time we left. Was tasty. And good value for money.

Nice little place. Shame they don't have a section playing music in the background. I'm sure it would be popular. No decent venues in Daventry just poxy little old pubs which don't have the atmosphere of old little pubs that they use to be because the decor is all this mimalistic rubbish or packed to the rafters with people like animals going to be slaughtered.

First time for me although my Son has eaten here before. It’s a huge place, again toilets are up stairs which isn’t great for the less mobile. We had meals ranging from Burgers, chicken, pizza, full English and vegetarian full English. We ordered this all on the app, drinks came out in good time, but food seemed to take ages. I meal didn’t get their chips but as by then we were running late we didn’t question it or ask for refund. All food was fine and hot enough. Staff seemed under pressure but pleasant, it a big area to cover. If I had time to spare I would pop in if I visited the area again

Good for a cost effective breakfast. Shame you can’t order tap water via the app. Food comes quickly, kids enjoy it and ask to go back. Where else can you feed 3 people for 15 quid as a sit down meal?

We came here for dinner the night before my daughter's surgery was to take place in Leicester...her request. The atmosphere was very quiet and peacful while the food was delicious. Try the warm chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream...you won't be disappointed!

Came for a breakfast. Amazing historical building with a great beer garden. Breakfast was lacklustre but came quickly at least.

The girl that was on shift tonight was so rude no thank you or anything needs some training on manners only time she was happy when she was leaving the place so uncomfortable someone serving you in the manner she has no welcome and no commitment to her job very unrepeatable!!!! But good bar In general food great

So so experience. Some of our group practically finished their meals before others had been brought out. Lots of missing items, no onion rings with gourmet burger, only 5 nuggets each with Katsu Curry for 2 of our party when there should of been 8 pieces each! Once waitress was informed extra nuggets were brought out but no curry sauce to go with! Substantially different sized dessert portions for the same item, was literally a half portion. Ran out of dessert spoons was given teaspoon! Felt sorry for the apologetic waitress, when the problems clearly were in the kitchen!.

Usual 'Spoons fayre in a great setting. Toilets were up only one set of stairs and very clean. Service was prompt and staff friendly.

If you ever must end up here just stick to drinks if your used to anything of taste. The seats are comfortable and you wont be charged massively for the food they peddle.

Great food !! Served quick as ordered on app, lovely location close to shops and clean inside . There is no parking at location but there is available parking on side road and massive free parking near park also parking less than 1 minute away .

This is a typical Wetherspoons Pub. Great value and a good range of choices on the menu. It has lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Perfect cooked breakfast , the traditional 2 hash browns 1 sausage 1 egg baked beans 2 bacon toast and butter unlimited tea and coffee £4.16 truly amazing

We brought 2 8" pizzas and are probably not evan 5" they are so small we get these every time and they have gotten smaller every time the plate itself is probably 8"

Worst wetherspoons ive been to, not enough staff to get served at bar so ordered on app. Waited nearly an hour for 4 drinks and a breakfast.. Not be returning to this place. Very poor...

Sad to say of the 133 Wetherspoons visited it is the longest I’ve had to wait for my food after placing my order, 1/2 an hour for a salad 🤔 I asked the waitress if they were short staffed, no just busy, definitely missed the 6 minute target Otherwise the chicken was nice

It was rubbish my breakfast was cold and I asked why. They had to walk throw the garden before I got my breakfast not happy the worst breakfast ever

Went there to have lunch, Monday 28th not very busy but there was a lot of dirty tables the food was alright and served in a fairly reasonable time but unfortunately served in a chipped bowl…… disgusting !!! I won’t being going back yuk!

I have eaten here on several occasions, food is not bad (standard Weatherspoons fare) can be very busy and noisy as it is a large property. Usually has at least two ales on tap and so far they have always been good on my visits. Can't fault the prices though considerably lower than other licenced premises in the town. I would not recommend it for a 'special' night out but great to grab a cheap meal or drink maybe on your way out.

It was a quiet Monday evening but there was still good banter from the locals . I drink IPA & i have too admit my "Moose River " was A1 FANTASTIC!! I'm a guy who is by admission "a little rough around the edges" i will put up with most things but i like a CLEAN LOO !! ...i could of eaten lunch in these loo's !! SPARKLING!! I hope " Mr Spoons" see's how good this place is !!!!

Really busy sunny afternoon when we went there. Couldn't find a spare table outside as it is a popular pub, very few pubs in the town centre with an outside seating area in the sun. Pay on the app is the one we use most often, nice and easy. Didn't eat this time, but we have before. You get what you pay for, food is cheap and quick to arrive, hit and miss with the flavour, depending on what you order.

Was very busy in the afternoon but we had breakfast was delicious although it take a while to arrive.

It’s a Weatherspoons, but it’s one of the best Weatherspoons I’ve been too. Beers are well kept and I would say some of the best in Daventry, food is cheap and cheerful (which is what I expect from a Spoons) and the staff are always decent and up for a laugh. Best of all though it’s awesome value for money!

Ordered Jacket potato with chilli and cheese - it came with no cheese Went to bar to complain was completely ignored, two men who appeared to be regulars were served before me. Another lady came told her the problem but had to order some more cheese - £1.45 and when it came it was I slice that would go with a burger!! Poor service and £1.45 for a Cheese slice ??? Not had a problem there before.

This is our favourite Wetherspoons pub In the area that we live in. It is always well staffed, the staff are friendly and the service prompt for food and drink.

Never visited Daventry before and satnav took me to a large free car park just minutes walk away from the Saracens Head. Loved the lay out of this place, it has differently sized rooms which create a nice atmosphere. There's also a room upstairs with a gallery overlooking the bar area. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately couldn't sample any ales as I was driving but noticed at least 3 real ales plus the usual Doombar and Abbot. Stayed for lunch and overall had a most enjoyable visit.

We had a meal here and both my rice and my daughterd rice was just warm, when we asked if the rice was warm because it had stood for a while or was it because it hadn't been heated up properly, she replied that it probably hadn't been heated up properly! As most people know bacteria called Bacillus cereus, can grow on rice when partially heat or left in a warm kitchen. My daughter is 6 months pregnant and it could make her and her unborn child to be very ill.. Needless to say we wont be going there again. It is not very clean either. 😕

Don't order the chicken and stuffing burger, it's like trying to eat a shoe!
