Came to Bolsover for the day on my wife's birthday to have a pub lunch and to visit the castle. Having read the positive reviews we went straight to the Blue Bell. Walking into the beer garden at about 11.50 we saw that the view on a good day would be spectacular. Unfortunately the weather was bad so in order to eat inside we went to the door marked ‘Entrance’ which was locked. I checked on line and saw the opening time was 12 am (??)  so we waited. A few minutes after 12 the back door opened and we entered only to be told there was no food (no reason given). Although there was a sign at the bar, a notice outside would have saved time being wasted. Fortunately there are other places to eat so we went elsewhere.

On a hospitality front staff weren't very visible bar the bar staff who were very helpful I had burger n chips burger was beautiful chips were hit n miss my partner had carvery beef was just fatty n gravy was very thick n my daughter had a baby carvery which I thought was a brilliant idea however she didn't eat much of it as Yorkshire pudding was bit dry but it is deffo worth a visit there for the atmosphere

Absolutely faultless, six of us dined here and a baby , everyone enjoyed the meal the pork melted in your mouth and the festive ploughman’s was 100percent delicious..The staff were all friendly and we were served quickly and all together despite it being busy. We will definitely return Thank You Also reasonably priced

We came for lunch as a family group of 8. Service was great, the food came very quickly and was hot and tasty. Briony, our server, was polite and helpful too. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent food and arrived in 15 minutes from ordering! I do only live down the road. The special burger is amazing! piping hot and juicy, cookies hot and gooey this is my go to.

First time here and wont be the last. Food was excellent and service was very good. Never felt rushed or forgotten about either. Will come again. Thankyou

Brilliant garden centre very well stocked, lovely gifts for many occasions,the only downside is the disorganised restaurant,we have been several times and each times the tables had not been cleared,the last time we were there people were clearing tables before they could sit down it was disgusting.

The food was warm and very tasty. The service was amazing too, the staff were very friendly. The tables and chairs were exceptionally clean, which was lovely.

Slowest coffee shop in the world. Queue out of the door. Man on till very nice and friendly, however he was doing the food in between customers as well as serving on the till. 2 people doing the coffee's. This is the third time we've been here and it's not a one off, it's the same every time. Food comes first which is usually after you're well into eating, which is rubbish. Ive had a different toastie each time and have all been a bit dry. Gave it a go as everywhere has their off day, but won't bother again.
