A really good experience in every respect. The food (I ordered the mixed grill for two for myself and took some home; my partner had the Vegetable Dhansak) was of a high standard. Very good value for money, too. It's been a while between visiting and writing this review but I seem to remember they don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own.

This is our third visit here. I will not go into great detail on the first two, but we were hoping that there would be significant improvement as they have been established for a good while, now. Sadly, it fell extremely low of the mark. In a nutshell... Poppadoms/Pickle Tray were okay (although hard to get wrong). Onion Bhaji's were just absolute stodge. They could literally buy them in from Morrisons around the corner, heat them up & serve. They would be 10x better than the ones we were presented with. Pilau rice was okay, but the 'family' Garlic Naan was server barely above room temperature. The two main courses, I am certain came out of the same pan; one was supposed to be a Chicken Madras and the other a Chicken Tikka Msala. Two completely different dishes, yet you could not tell the difference between the two, other than the fact that they'd chucked a pinch of corainder on the top of one of the dishes. They did not taste awful, they were just both a very 'generic' curry. When asked what the meal was like, I gave an honest answer. The offer of recompense was 'would you like another naan'.... after the meal was all but finished. Needless to say, we'll not visit again and stick to travelling outside of the area to satisfy our weekly curry treat. It really is a shame as the place had such great potential, we really wanted it to be the best curry house for miles around, and on our own doorstep :/ On a positive note, we were not ill, so I have given them 2 stars.

Such a disappointment. We really wanted to enjoy this place as it's within walking distance to our house. The food and service however were completely disappointing. The onion bhajis were just awful, my husband can eat anything but these were terrible. The main meals when we finally got them, having first had another tables food put in front of us first, were no better. Such a shame as the location is great for Bolsover residents. The three chaps front of house were merely teenagers who spent all the time yawning and working at a very slow pace, I must say they were pleasant enough, just lacking in waiter service and lacked front of house experience. Sadly we won't be returning.

We came for a birthday celebration, and have no complaints the food was great, they were very friendly and happy to accommodate any special requests. Would happily recommend the restaurant, and would also happily go back. Just to add as others have said they don’t have a licence to serve alcohol so take your own, they only sell soft drinks and mock tails or tea and coffee.

I am sorry to score so low, but, can’t find a third star here. I’ve been before and was hoping that it would improve a little but it didn’t. I am sorry as the area needs more places to eat out. Before 8pm there isn’t any parking close by. We entered and were offered two tables to choose from. After being seated it took a while before someone even acknowledged that we may want a drink. The table next to us came in 10 mins after us and were instantly served (they were Asian). We were eventually asked for drinks but not yet our food order. Again after a wait our order was taken. We we also brought our only bottles lager but didn’t get offered a bottle opener, we used their cutlery. Our 8 Poppadoms arrived for us with the smallest pickles pots I’d ever seen between four people. They were ok but nothing special. When our mains arrived we struggled to fit it all on the table (4 people) even though we’d only ordered a naan between two. Three out of the four thought there meal was good. Unfortunately I didn’t. I’ve eaten Chicken Jalfrezi in every restaurant I’ve been to as i believe I can then compare this to other Indian restaurants (I’ve been to a lot). On this occasion I took a mouthful and didn’t want anymore. It was bland, had a really awful texture, no taste or heat and the chicken was tasteless. I returned this and decided not to try anything else as it put me off. Fair to say it’s my last visit here. Slow staff and a poor Jalfrezi that turned me off.

First time here and won't be the last. Great food and service.. Will do smaller portions of mains as a side dish. Asked for something not on main menu and they cooked it no problem.. Good price and very friendly.... Highly recommend. Bring your own booze...

The only thing letting this little place down is the delivery service. We waited 3 hours for our food after ringing two times she did apologize I did understand it was the weekend but that's a long time to wait. If they solve that problem out it would be a fantastic place because their food was five star think . we really enjoyed it and we'll be going back again but this time I'll order then go pick it up 😂😃

Now called Ghurka spice. Gorgeous food lovely service and the chef even came out to check we were enjoying our meal and he’d got it right. 2 poppadams between us and then we share a starter, main, rice and bread. With 2 alcoholic drinks it came to £37.50. Recommended
