Pizza Express in Bolsover

Was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my Pizza Express experience. Warm and friendly welcome, efficient service, the food was divine.. and the wonderful aroma of garlic in the air !

Popped in for lunch. It was half term and the whole site was busy. Even at 12pm the restaurant was struggling to find tables. They accommodated us after a short wait. Ordered drinks which came out swiftly and once the order was taken dough balls soon followed. Mains came out quickly and were hot and delicious. Not mine but I had a salad so that’s great! Tuna nicoise was packed with ingredients and very filling. Puddings also delicious and a great treat. Louis was a great host, very charming and funny. Friendly staff all round and a great welcome

Very disappointed with the quality of food. Both pizzas were burnt and really not up to scratch. It’s a pitty as I am a big pizza express fan but after today’s experience I will not be returning. P.S. The staff were really nice and friendly.

Waited half an hour just to order drinks and still had to ask to be severed twice 😡 took ages for food to arrive got a tiny can of 150ml lemonade for £2 and regular can of Fanta 330ml for £3.55 Food was oily in lasagna at the top was puddles of oil and the crispy potatoes was uncooked chips. Overall not a great experience

Me and my Partner just had our lunch here and enjoyed our food and Kirsty’s excellent service, who took care of us while we were there. We also tried the garlic butter dip for our pizza and absolutely fell inlove with it. Definitely will be back again. ♥️

Really enjoyed the food, staff are excellent too. Thank you. Only one observation, not complaint as such as the pollo pasta I had was amazing, but there was no chicken to see, not one piece. Maybe it’s the recipe 🤷🏼‍♀️.

First time at Pizza Express, very tasty pizza, I had sloppy giueseppe which was excellent . Indie was awesome as was Gem who made the pizza. Highly recommend. Place is very clean and we were well looked after all evening.

Today we decided to call into Pizza Express at the shopping outlet DE55. What a breath of fresh air was our waiter Louis. He welcomed us , promptly took our drinks order, and allowed enough time for us to make our selection of food, from the extensive menu. He was very helpful and made us very comfortable. Noticing we were trying to take a photo, he offered his help.Louie politely checked if all was good with our food selection, and he noted when we had finished the very tasty salads and pizza and cleared away efficiently. It was such a lovely lunch experience and Louie's showed dedication and enthusiasm of how to offer excellent customer service. This did not go unnoticed by two very greatful senior ladies.

Freezing cold food. Watched he the delivery driver do multiple drops on the app. Called the restaurant number 10 plus times and nobody even answered. Cost £20 to get it delivered. Fuming, never again will we order from this app or the place.

It’s difficult to post into words the absolute disappointment you provided in a box when you delivered my pizza. I am trying to comprehend how it could have arrived looking as it did, was it fired out of a blunderbuss into the box? Besides the absolute horror show of a pizza you provided, it was cold, chewy and you hadn’t even bothered to slice it properly. I imagine someone in the kitchen worked hard to prepare, cook and check this, having endured dozens of hours of training for some genius delivery driver to presumably shove this sideways somewhere on the way to me. This also cost about five times the price of the alternative you sell in supermarkets, not worth it all. Avoid at all costs.

Pizzas were delivered folded and rolled into corner of the box. Lifting them from the box left most of the topping stuck to the box.

We pre- booked a table for 4 of us, and we were seated fairly quickly with a pleasant welcoming. The young waiter kept asking if we were ready to order, but we didn't mind, but we didn't understand why because it wasn't busy late in the evening. I guess that they might want to finish promptly. However, it was a nice meal without anything to complain about, and we were looked after with a smile 😃 definitely recommend this venue, so check it out, and I'll look out for new reviews, just to see weather you agree with me.

Had prawn pizza bland only 5 prawns and 3 small green tomatos.

I ordered a starter, a pizza and a dessert. They did not have the dessert I chose and delivered a different one.

pizza was cold, delivered over a wall because the delivery driver didn't know where they were. very disappointed.

We dined here on a Friday late afternoon and we’re greeted so politely and welcoming by the manager Lucy! Our server Molly was amazing too, very helpful and really on point! A fantastic service, great food and amazing staff! Thank you for a fantastic experience xxx

Save your money and go to an independent talian restaurant.Food very average but expensive,service poor with absolutely no attention to detail.Can't see this chain being around for much longer.

It was a very good experience here. Though it was very busy and it took about 15-20 min to order food but it was worth it. Service was really good and even in a very busy environment, the waitress was very calm and helpful. Didn't feel like she was rushing to serve another table.

Visited as a convenient meet up location with family. The Manager on duty and ALL staff were exceptional, polite, efficient and nothing too much trouble. We had elderly relatives with us who loved the food, quality of service and their first visit! Really couldn't fault the whole thing.

well, it looked like the pizza box had been dropped on its edge as the topping was in a heap at one end of the box and not on the pizza. first time I've ordered, and also the last. Truckers deliver your ingredients to make these things. Is it too much to ask to have the finished goods delivered in good condition to us?

Great service. Sat outside. Welcomed and treated well. Enjoyed all the orders which were shared as we just wanted a very light bite in this heat.

Food was freezing cold!! Horrendous

We went for some lunch as the food court was closed, the restaurant was busy but we were seated within 5 minutes. Our order was taken shortly after, there was two staff members waiting, two chefs with one manager. They were trying their best but were clearly understaffed, i felt sorry for them because it was like they are working for 10 people. Our order took quite long to make, the pizza tasted nice but the prawn pasta was a disappointment, it was cold and tasted stale. Pizza express if you are going to serve frozen pasta baked in the oven please take it off the menu, we can get the same from iceland for £1. The manager on site named James was kind enough to take the pasta off the bill as we could not eat it. Thank you James for excellent customer service. I feel that its not the staff’s fault that this place has so many bad reviews, the management above needs to hire more people during busy periods at least.

We decided to try something new. It looked like a pizza folded in half not as nice looking but no the less still delicious 😋 we had the garlic dough balls they were spot on too

I visited today as an ex employee for an amazing company! i had beth as my server and all i can say is that she delivered the best customer service that i have never encountered! She is pure amazing and lovely, and i’m so glad she was our server as i had an amazing time here! Beth is just so warm hearted and so nice! Thankyou for a lovely time!

Danielle was amazing she is such an attentive waitress. She went above and beyond for us and other guests around us.

everything was ok, the atmosphere, the food, but the forks and knives were dirty, the staff was not attentive to the order and brought me minus one menu and we had to wait for the last menu. otherwise everything is ok. more attention to the cleanliness of the cutlery and the others which are not disposable

Only a small selection of food available as they ran out of ingredients. Sunday and farthers day, running out on such a day was bad management. Will not be going back.

We visited late Saturday evening so not exactly buzzing with people. Food was great and catered well for the cloeiac and vegan I was dining with. I tried the dough balls from both GF and vegan and they didn't taste any different and as a muggle I'd be more than happy to eat them. Certainly worth a visit. I had the spicy calzone which was amazing, GF smokey BBQ pizza which also went down very well and the vegan Margherita didn't disappoint. If you are at the Outlet it's certainly a better experience than the other options, bar the waggas.

We visited yesterday and having a couple of different dietary requirements (one gluten free and one vegan), were a bit worried. We really shouldn't have been. From the delightful young man that seated us, to the lovely girl that served us. A great experience with five star food. Thank you so much,we will definitely be back!

There is a really good vibe here, which is created by the young team. Unfortunately, the caps the chefs were wearing weren't covering the entirety of their hair. There were three hairs on my plate. Once I saw them, I couldn't eat my pizza and it put my friend off their pizza too. The server was very pleasant about it and I did not have to pay for my pizza.

Nice food, a little bit pricey for what it is, the good thing is that the kids get some crayons and an activity book to keep them entertained

The pizza was cold. I tracked the order and the driver seemed to be held up at the restaurant. He was polite and apologetic.

A great space, out table felt like we were in a corridor with everyone bundling past. We were told that it was one of the few tables left, however there were other tables that were empty for the whole time we were eating!

Wonderful food and quick service. Max was absolutely lovely and checked the food was okay, was patient while we ordered our food. Great atmosphere, not too loud and good music.

Having called in to eat we were surprised to be told that there was no tables available even though there were lots of empty ones. We dutifully agreed to call back in 30 mins and booked a table. When we returned the place had cleared considerably and we were shown to a table. We asked for the table number so that we could update the app of our visit but the duty manager didn’t know as it wasn’t her store. She was obviously filling in for an absent manager. We waited for 25 minutes for someone to at least take a drink order but no one came. There were a stream of diners arrive and seated and all got their orders taken before us. The site was woefully understaffed both on the floor and in the kitchen. My wife noticed that the manager even started to help the cooks as he was under too much pressure. Eventually we gave and left…hungry and disappointed. There is no wonder that business’ fail due to miss-management and understaffing.

Really enjoyed our lunch we had here. The staff were extremely friendly and it was a great environment for kids. The kids and adults menu was great and the food was delicious. Not been to one for years but really enjoyed it and will go back!

Very nice pizzas. We ordered the dough balls with cheese, beetroot salad, bread with mozzarella and duo pizza. The dough balls and mozzarella bread are ok. The beetroot salad was really good. Three pizza flavours are amazing.

Poor experience, kitchen got my order wrong twice but instead of being courteous about it I could overhear one of the Cooks (I believe his name was Kyle) arguing with the waiting on staff about it and then proceeded to glare at me from the kitchen. My order was incorrect, it wasn't personal in any way however, the pizza I received to begin with was lukewarm at best and dry, when your paying over £10 a pizza you expect it to be hot at the very least. To be fair to the waiting on staff and manager, they were great and their customer service was excellent and they did try to make it right but by that point I was fed up. If you're going to have an open kitchen at least have the kitchen staff concentrate on the task at hand and instead not try to intimidate or belittle customers (which I then overheard later on). As someone who visits regularly with family and are all Gold Members, we will all be giving it a wide berth for the interim.

Food was as expected for the usual Pizza Express however it took 3 hours to get a meal and dessert in what was a relatively empty restaurant and that's with us prompting staff to engage with us. Wouldn't bother with this particular store again.

Took 5 minutes to seat us and waited a further 10 minutes without a single person coming anywhere near us. What made it worse was people who came in after us were seated and ordering before a single word was said. Needless to say we left hungry and annoyed. Awful service.

If you intend on spending three and a half hours to eat a pizza and a dessert, this place is for you. For everyone else however, it is not. This place has the least engaged and slowest staff I have experienced in a long time! At the time of writing, I've finished eating and have been waiting an hour for someone to ask to pay for the food. They have had a full staff change over whilst we have been here, if we had got up and walked out without paying I don't believe anyone would have noticed

hi I was unable to get seated as the lady refused to serve me , and said I should wait as she was busy chatting to a customer who was seated and eating her food . She was extremely rude towards me and I can only assume it was because I was of Indian nationality . The restaurant was quiet with only 2 customers . No greetings at all when i entered the premises . I said hello , to which the response was , I am busy . I would normally expect a welcoming and warm greeting from a waitress , but this was cold and unwelcoming .

Came to Pizza Express for a bite to eat after some time hitting the shops. We must say, Lucy is the most caring and down to earth waitress we have ever been greeted by. She elevated the experience by being so bubbly and chatty which was great to see. The service provided right from walking through the front door was impeccable and Lucy is an absolute credit to the company. The food was very nice, explained well and presented equally as good. We had such a great time and will definitely be back and really hope Lucy is serving and greeting us on our next visit 😁

First time going out to eat right after New year. The welcome was warm and friendly, we didn't have to wait. Our server Amber was incredibly friendly and kind. We had a few issues with our drinks as low in stock after New Year. Amber went above and beyond to meet our needs. The food itself es was really tasty there were so many vegan options. Definitely would go again not just for the food but also the good service.

Dined in your restaurant the other day, had great service and delicious food! Was promptly seated by the female manager, believe her name was Lucy. She went over the menu with us and offered to get us drinks to start us off and some great recommendations! Overall a really lovely and inviting experience:)

Lovely afternoon with a nice pizza and friends

Pizza express is a generic pizza chain restaurant. The food was as I expected, but I do think everything is slightly over priced. I don't have any specific complaints or praises really.

Great pizzas and sides served with a smile. The staff are really helpful and service was good. The Christmas Wreath pizzas were a little bit different. Nice!

They was waiting for a driver to pick up the order. The driver made the take out place reorder the pizzas as they was cold.

We had our daughter 10th birthday party yesterday and It was truly amazing 💯💯 Kids been making they own pizza, had lots of games, fun and laughs. Big thank you to the two lovely ladies and the gentlemen who done absolutely great job making our daughter party unforgettable. I’m sure we will be back next year for our younger daughter pizza making birthday party 🎊 best choice ever 💯💫

!!!!AVOID!!!! Extremely poor service. Front manager/ team lead (a lady) had a real attitude when we came in and no welcome smile and questioned about our booking (yes we had a booking!!!! Sat 4th November 2023 @ 1pm), as if we didn't and made us feel unwelcomed... First RED FLAG. We then waited for a table to be cleaned and sat. After waiting for 20mins for a menu with no luck, we went and got our own menus from the front by the front door... Another 15mins pass with no signs of taking our order (even for drinks) and had to ask for table service. If not it would have taken an another hour to get served... Second RED FLAG. And when we did, the same lady manager/ team lead, had the worst attitude and was like, I can't be bothered another order... and then went ask one of the waiters to take the order without even acknowledging us.... Well over 45mins since we've sat down by this time... Third RED FLAG.... Our biggest RED FLAG was that, I felt (FELT), being a mixed couple, we were treated differently as the a number of people who came after us were sat and served way before us... Even without any prior bookings ( we we close to the front door and we could hear when ppl came in to the restaurant) My wife was at this point like let's just sod them and leave. But given that we've not had anything before and way pass our usual lunch time, our kids were so hungry so we decided to stay anyway as it would have taken more time to go to another restaurant... We've eaten in a lot of Pizza Express all over, and this place is by far the worst, by a country mile. A very long one. Food is as usual and as expected and when ordered they came in a timely manner... But the water we ordered never came, despite asking again.. By the time the desserts came along my youngest already fallen a sleep of waiting.... Based on today's experience I DO NOT recommend the Pizza Express at East Midlands Disgner Outlet. P.s. A kind msg to the lady manager (white with dark hair)... If you don't think you can't provide 100% customer service at all times, this this is not the job for you love. If you are having a bad day, then take a break to cool off or have the day off!!! Be professional... Sorry Pizza Express.. but it only take one to have a bad review... it was not that busy either and certainly not a full house.

I just wanted to come onto say our server amber was so lovely for us when we came. When you are used to average customer service wherever you go and then you get someone who goes above and beyond in little ways by asking how your day was and just being very well mannered and polite is so nice to see. Amber if you ever get a chance to read this thank you for your service and keep doing you 😊😊

Unexpectedly nice! With it being in a shopping center (albeit an open one) I expected a faded and tired service but the young waiter and waitresses were full of smiles, polite, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and served in good time too. Missing out on 5 stars only because the seats had crumbs left over from previous eaters and the menu I was given wasn’t clean (it was replaced with an apology when I asked for a clean one)

When we asked our daughter where she would like to eat for her 6th birthday she instantly shouted dough balls! I think this lady was called Danielle and she made our daughter so happy! She took the time to show her how to order her own food, listened to her explaining her great fire of London drawing and made her night by giving her her cake and writing her a card. Nothing was too much trouble and you treated my daughter like a princess which we can only thank you for 🥰 you are a true asset to the restaurant and now have a little fan. Thank you 😊

Dropped by for some quick lunch, ended up staying for almost 2 hours as we felt so welcomed and not rushed. Lucy- our server simply couldn't do enough for us. so friendly and bubbly, her personality shone through in her service and made sure we had a wonderful lunch. The food was amazing as usual. Just wanted to post and say what a lovely experience we had yesterday evening. We were served by Dani (i think). Everyone was working hard to make sure all the food came out quickly and we had everything we needed. We even saw the manager go in the kitchen to help out when it got busier!! All around such a lovely time, will definitely be coming back!

We like Pizza Express usually but today we were beyond disappointed. We waited a little while to be seated and the hostess greeted us and then asked to get past me to get the menus. She took us to a table right next to other diners. I asked for a quieter table and was told this is the only one. She walked off without giving us the menus of taking our drink order. We were not impressed and so left and took our custom elsewhere. The staff member concerned was so rude and we don’t expect such a lack of service.
