The best restaurants in Alfreton Amber Valley East Midlands

Called in yesterday for coffee and cake. I remembered the lady from being there last time. She was busy prepping for a birthday party but squeezed us in. The level of service she provides is off the scale, the best for miles around! She is SO lovely and friendly, and made everyone feel so welcome. I don't come to Alfreton that often, but would always have at least a coffee. She reminded me not to bother with anywhere else, when the Pottery is just the best.

We ordered from the restaurant in February 2022 as it has a reputation for being one of the best chinese takeaways in the area, and we weren't disappointed - the ribs were some of the best I've tasted and the kung pow chicken was served with generous pieces of chicken breast and lightly toasted cashews - delicious! The owner was friendly and we had a nice chat while I was waiting for my food. There's no online website or menu currently but it's worth a look if you're in the area!

Friendly bar staff, brilliant smoking area, ok prices.

Had a takeaway, was piping hot and delivered by a friendly polite driver. Food was good quality. chicken was cooked perfectly will return.

I'm so sorry, normally this place is spot on for food always hot and tasty , but lots missing this time , tartare sauce, curry sauce and ordered a double burger just got one , even though we paid for it all X

Always great food and service this is the only Indian we ever use.

Not great, waiting on staff lovely but lady behind till not very friendly or hospitable. I think I was an inconvenience really. Coffee not brilliant, food average. Would I return no, which is a shame as in the past it has been my go to place to meet up with friends / family.

chicken Korma was gorgeous. Peshawar Naan was out of this world !

Nice atmosphere and great food. Service was prompt and always very attentive. Compete with one or two other restaurants nearby, but this is definitely the best one.

Totally awesome meal today for Christmas Day. We had been working so the restaurant accommodated us and stayed open later. We enjoyed a good variety of food from the buffet which was hot and tasty. Even cooked fresh starters for us. Good service and good value for money. Will defiantly be going again.

We went for take away and really enjoyed our meal. I'm not Cealiac but am wheat intolerant. I was prepared just to have chips, but the owner was very kind and cooked me a beautiful pan fried piece of fish in olive oil. It was absolutely delicious! The chips were also not greasy, and were also very, very tasty. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be going back. The owner was very welcoming too.

Excellent service and good food

Hidden gem!! Random stop for lunch, had a ham salad cob unreal and so fresh as was the cheese and onion pasty Haven't had the cake yet but I will update Highly recommend this place!!
