Proper village pub, small enough to care yet big enough to cope.
The bitter was stunning, the real log fire an attraction (despite it being unseasonably warm) but the big winner here is the pizzas - delivered from a van in the car park.
It's small but worth seeking out.
Please note: cash only!!
Love Tom’s Food! My partner and I live in Haywards Heath and we regularly come here on the weekend for excellent coffee. Sometimes we’ll order some food which is always delightful, and we are often tempted by the cinnamon buns (which probably ought to win an award of some sort, they’re that good!) and other delicious pastries.
Well done to Tom and his wife for running such a great local cafe, with very friendly and welcome staff.
Portions are small had to wait 35 mins for food noise from the kids was like being in a crèche and people were vaping in the restaurant wouldn’t go again
This is a charming old-fashioned tea shop access from the city room with a brilliant view of the Eastgate. We had a scone and cakes with a very good pot of tea. Relaxed and atmospheric.
The Britons Arms is a well known building at the top end of Elm Hill in Norwich, built in 1537, it's been around for quite a while. For many years it was only open during the day to refresh the hoards of tourists wandering up and down the cobbled street with tea, coffee and sticky buns, but no longer.
From Thursday to Saturday it is now open until 9:00 pm for some of the best home cooked food in the city. I had a lamb shoulder with stewed veg and dumpling that was to die for, very tasty and everything perfectly cooked, we will be visiting here again very soon, delicious!
Absolutely Fantastic, beautiful food , beautifully presented, excellent service and very good value for money, 100% recommend and will be eating there again.
Thank you🥂👍🏽
Went upto Liverpool for Evertons final game at Goodison, The Saddle Inn was where we eventually ended up to watch tje game. There was a fiendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The drinks were reasonably priced.
Only gripe was the hand dryer over the sink, if not careful you exit the bathroom looking like you wet yourself 🤣

The very friendly and helpful owner made us fresh donuts just as he was closing up for the night. The donuts were very nice. We didn't stay to eat them but the outdoor seating area looked really cosy with tables and chairs in little shelters and each lit up in a different colour. An echo of the nearby Shanklin Chine. But for the cost of entry there we could have had some amazing ice cream sundays AND one of his slushies for less money.
We will go back again.
Stopped here for lunch whilst walking the coast path. Hadn’t planned to, but the menu looked interesting.
We both had the vegan option, which was a tempura cauliflower, which came with nice potatoes, sweet onions and coriander hummus. Was really excellent.
Recommended.
