Absolutely Fantastic, beautiful food , beautifully presented, excellent service and very good value for money, 100% recommend and will be eating there again. Thank you🥂👍🏽

We dined here last night, the first time in a few months. I don't know why I left it so long, the balance of my mind must have been disturbed! I had almost forgotten just how good the steaks here are. I've travelled a bit and never had steak as good as this. Forget any fancy sauces, why adulterate such good steak just enjoy it as it comes along with a side of chips and perhaps mushrooms and as you leave thank your lord Jesus for the slice of spremely tender deliciousness youve just had because surely no mere mortal could do steak this good! Mind you chef did have a passing resemblance to.....no, impossible!

We love Dickies; We've recently moved to the area and have visited maybe four times and each time the meal has been so, so good. It's a great dining environment that reminds us of a hipster joint in Williamsburg, the service is charming, with a decent range of classy wines. The food though is the thing, and it is wildly exciting. We've taken to coming for Sunday lunch where i can honestly say is the best Sunday lunch we've ever had. It's worth travelling miles for. Go now - before it becomes so busy you cant get a table!

We recently came here for the first time and had an excellent meal. The steaks were some of the best we had had for a long time, and all of the starters and sides were delicious as well. Service was friendly and welcome and all in a nice setting. Look forward to returning for the tasting menu in due course

I love food and have had the privilege of eating in some excellent restaurants, but I have never felt compelled to write a review…until now. Dickies is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is chilled, staff are professional and very welcoming, they made our party of four feel at home. Produce was first class and prepared with greatest of care and attention. They are clearly passionate about what they do at Dickies, and I cannot wait to visit them again.

What a lovely experience! Staff were very attentive and friendly. We loved the complementary tarts that were brought out with our drinks, they were a real treat. Food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely!! The toilets were also a highlight, very quirky and cool. Would 100% recommend!

Such beautiful food, just I remembered it being but sadly not great service - took a very long time for someone to take our order and it was a full hour after arriving before the food came out.

A truely original concept taking of field to fork to five star. After visiting there, I truely don’t think I have given out for verbal recommendations, the chef and the team are welcoming and we learnt all about the seasonable menu much grown on site. The lamb starter was to die for, followed by Prime Rib to share with exceptional sides, you can see how much thought and Imagination has gone into this menu. The cozy dining experience paired with some lovely wine choices was our perfect evening. Can’t wait for the Argentinian asardo in the summer. *****

This is a really terrific restaurant. The location is a little hidden if you haven't been before. As you aproach the building you can see its a 'one-off' - and when you enter, it feels rustic but really special. You can feel the great atmosphere straight away. The food is outstanding, the staff friendly and service is great. It is all very relaxed and a really lovely place to eat. We are lucky as we live quite close by; but its definitely worth the drive out if you live in the city. We don't think there is a better place to eat in Notts and we keep going back

This was our second time at Dickies and it certainly won’t be our last. They’ve revamped the restaurant since we last visited and it feels like everything has really gone up a notch! Service was friendly and efficient (my husband has allergies and he was made to feel really comfortable about what he was eating by the way they went above and beyond!) The steaks were nothing short of incredible, we had a prime rib which the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. Sides were all delicious (must have the carrots if you go) and sauces were so flavourful! Chatting to the owners at the end was fab, they are clearly so driven and passionate to deliver an amazing experience to all of their customers and this is exactly what we had! Recommended by friends who dine here regularly and love it. We we were sceptical as it was out of town and we didnt know what to expect. Beautiful setting and really nice to be out in the countryside. All I can say is what a fantastic experience. The food is exceptional and on a par with a 1 michelin star establishment we dined at last week. The service is super friendly and the restaurant is simply beautiful. Both agreed this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Will reccomend and WILL be back.

We visited here with some friends to celebrate a number of birthdays in the coming week, with one couple having been before and had had a great experience. The restaurant was quite busy and drinks orders were taken quickly. We then ordered our food. After that we had to wait over an hour to get our food, which, after all that time, the food was very poor. It took around 7 to 8 minutes for the three sharing steaks, nine sides & sauces to come out. The cost of the side dishes was far too high for the very small portions we had (£7 for three carrots and £5 for around 15 chips). The food was luke warm when coming out, so by the time we had everything it was cold. They did ‘replace’ some of the sides and sauces but the dishes came back just slightly warmer and drier. Our Picanha steak for two (recommended medium rare and asked for medium rare) was dry and tough, not cooked as requested. When we came to the end of the main course when asked “how was everything?” we said we were not happy. The manageress came over, and we explained what we were unhappy about. She then proceeded to argue with us about the service we had received, saying people had been over to check if we were ok with the food (once the initial issues of cold sides had been replaced), which they had not. We were offered free desserts which we declined. We then asked to speak to Richard (the owner) who eventually came over after chatting to the table next to us. He did apologise for the poor meal, but with an air of ‘we’re still right’ and asked us what we would like to do about the issue (shouldn’t you be suggesting a compromise?) We suggested a reduction of 30% on the total bill which he went away to review; coming back to offer to remove the cost of the drinks (£74 of a total bill of £372, so 20% by my maths). Having been fed up with the aloof attitude of both the manageress and Richard we paid and left. I’m sure Dickies do want to produce top quality food and care for their animals, however I think they should learn that when customers feel they’ve not had a good eating experience, particularly at Dickies very high prices, they should not come with such a high and mighty attitude that they are right and the customer isn’t. You will see from my many reviews over a lot of years we are not ones to complain readily. We’ve eaten in some of the best restaurants and know what good quality and service is, which is something very much lacking at Dickies!

The steak was one of the best I’ve ever had and the chips and peppercorn sauce were delicious too. It was a treat night especially as the prices are a high due to being a fine dining establishment… Not a criticism I think the quality of the food is reflected in the prices although £7 for a carrot poshly split into 3 is a bit eye watering. The ambience and atmosphere is very good with a real rustic theme and it’s nice to see the chefs preparing the food in the background. A well deserved 4 stars, there were just a few things I think could be altered to make it 5 stars (this isn’t a complaint or moan merely a recommendation). It gets very cold inside at the back as the back door is constantly being opened as the staff go through to the private function section, if you can I would sit nearer the main door because of this. There are overhead heaters but they didn’t really take the chill off, that being said they did light the fire later on which was lovely and made it very cosy. We came to ordering and the waitress (all staff were very pleasant and friendly) asked what we would like to be told both steaks we ordered had sold out… this information could have been passed on when we were given the menus to begin with rather than tell us after we tried to order. I don’t know how their steak inventory works but for a Friday, the first night they’ve opened for the week, I was pretty shocked to hear 2 of the lower price steaks had already sold out. Unsure if they have a set number per night to sell so that customers coming at the weekend get a choice or they have so many for the month and therefore had sold out. Lastly, the car park is very dark especially at the end. My partner stood in a puddle as it was that dark you couldn’t see and I nearly fell over as it’s uneven on the ground, some flood lights of some sort would be beneficial. Overall we had a lovely night and I would definitely recommend to others.
