Fantastic food, fantastic service

Most of the food arrived really cold to point it had to be microwaved to walm it up. The naan breads which are usually amazing and one of my favourite things from there arrived the size of a small chappati and dry and couldn't even eat it. My husbands madras was flavourless, extremely runny like it had been watered down when usually thick sauce, the container it was in was only half full. His words were he was flabbergasted how bad it was after eating here many times and it being great.

Foot delivery drop on door step Cold and tasteless

nearly a 2 hour wait. appreciate it being Valentines and busy but not great service, considering the app said it was delivered when it wasnt. The sauce was delicious but the meat very dry on both dishes. side dishes were good though.

Having received positive reviews, I thought we would try this restaurant out as we had a friend staying with us over the weekend. We placed an order for takeaway and then collected the food. (All fine and efficient) On getting home, we plated the meals and noticed how thin the sauce was within both the lamb madras and chicken tika madras, and in both dishes there was very little meat, which was smothered within that weak, thin and watery sauce! Added to this the pilau rice was in a tinny tray and having ordered two side dishes, these weren’t to expectation and overall was really disappointed with the experience, as prices aren’t cheap - you therefore expect, what you pay for and overall we left left short and underwhelmed and so won’t go back here again.

Had a takeaway for my daughters birthday, It was excellent, chicken was very tender in both curries which were very flavoursome. Staff friendly and helpful. The only local Indian restaurant I would go to.

The food here is excellent, curries are authentic and the menu details all the ingredients of each dish. Staff are so polite and very smart. Everything is very clean. Best Indian restaurant around.

Delicious, good heat and delivered very hot and on time.

Have visited on several occasions and it’s Consistently great food and great service,- nothing is to much trouble, would definitely recommend.

Used to order here regulary, but things have seemingly changed. Madras sauce covered 6 (!) microscopic pieces of meat, one of which was gristle. Same with the Rogan Josh. Not worth it like that..

Small for £18 had better in melton

First off i would like to say we have ordered from the Empress Of India before and have never had a problem but this time the standard was very poor, all 3 of our Chicken Tikka Masala's looked like they had been watered down and all 3 Nans where burn

Food was very disappointing, always ordered from here but will not be doing so again. Majority of it went in the bin. Totally lacked flavour.

Order was late, the prawns were shrivelled and burnt and not worth the price paid for them, the garlic naan had some unidentified green substance on them, the heat of the rice and butter chicken was lukewarm warm at best.

The best Indian i have ever had

We were told our order was correct - I asked my husband to check as previously we were given the wrong food- today 3 naan bread missing. Food is great but you don’t always get what you order in our experience sadly.

The first delivery was cold due to a crash . Great customer service he called apologised 20 mins later the whole order arrived again steaming hot . Good food . Fantastic service

Delivery guy was rude, incoherent and I think expected me to walk to the front of my apartment block to get the order rather than buzz my number and walk the corridor to my flat

The food came on time. Thats all that was good about it. Over priced for potion size. Onion bhaji were cold ans stale. The mains were dry and very sub standard flavour. All in all very disappointing

Wont be recommending this one. Bahji's burnt, sauces had no flavour. Food pretty awful and really greasy. Waste of £25.

Best Indian food I have tried so far.

I have visited this restaurant and ordered occasional takeaway food over the years. This restaurant just seems to get better & better. We even booked for Christmas Day 2023 for a change from the usual. It was excellent, staff and food top notch- great value for money too. I’ll definitely be back.

The most awful food, lacked in spice, taste and heat. The keema nan was inedible!! Soggy and awful texture. We had a Rogan Josh and Balti curry, neither were tasty and just had no flavour!! You need to talk to the chefs. Someone isn't doing there job. We will not be returning!!

honest opinion not the best, naan bread big enough for a toddler, mango chutney tasted like I don't even know what, mint yogurt was pure white and did not taste like a normal lime green mint yog! about 4 pieces or chicken so dry too! sorry but never again! heard good reviews and expected decent food!

Always order from here when staying at eye Kettleby lakes and food has always been amazing, this order wasn’t unfortunately. Was very oily and salty and the poppadoms were chewy. We didn’t enjoy it and most went in the bin sadly.

Fantastic food. Great Ahloo Ghobi and paneee was divine. Very reasonably priced too. Service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals as a family. The staff were attentive without being fussy. Every meal was delicious and the Nan breads were delicious.

Absolutely perfect. Booked online & from the minute we arrived until the minute we left, everything was faultless. Food was amazing & reasonably priced. Service was exceptional. Not crammed in like sardines & not rushed out to get the next people in. Spotlessly clean too. Very lucky to have this restaurant with a friendly long term owner close by.

The portion sizes are very small for the price compared to another Indian that we used to use before we moved. The flavours were quite bland which is a shame but cooked to perfection so can’t fault that just would like a bit more for the money.

First time using The Empress of India and was very impressed with the quality of food. All fresh ingredients and very tasty. Only downside for me was that I thought the Naan breads could have been slightly larger. The delivery time said 1 and a half hours and they delivered bang on time 1 and a half hours. It was my first time with them and I did feel it was a long time to wait, but worth waiting for (it was a Friday evening after all) Recommended!

Asked for a delivery at 17:55 - was advised delivery would be 18:10- food arrived 18:35 - no apology from the person delivering. Food is the best locally but delivery timings are consistently dreadful- we have never had a delivery on time. Today the food was superb but we were one popadom short.

I have been trying to find an Indian restaurant since curry hut in melton mowbray closed and I think I have just found it 😋 food was excellent hot and tasty only thing I found was the chips were a little over cooked for my liking would definitely recommend 👏👍

Had the phone the returant to find out where the food was. Also the food on my order was not correct.

Food was great and so was driver, just running a tad late but we were informed.

Arrived hot and good as usual just 30 min late. That’s happened a few times now 30 min late seems average.

Good quality food as always delivered on time and piping hot. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be ordering again.

Order for 6:40 delivery, according to the app it was on time.. 7:15 and still not arrived, this has always been my preferred takeaway but probably not in the future.. Turned up at 7:20 and it's only luke warm... Not happy
