Went here Saturday evening with 2 friends. The service was excellent, friendly, efficient staff. My friend and I had cod and one had duck, delicious. I’d definitely recommend a visit. The decor is gorgeous in my view and candles in the loos is a special touch.
Fabulous homemade raspberry frangipane with ice cream and a big pot of tea. I had to have a mouthful before taking the photo 🤭
Just what we needed after walking up Castlebergh. Very friendly service.
Sadly the museum had just closed …. so we’ll have to come back !!
We stopped here for lunch when returning from Devon recently. I chose it because of the good Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. It's a lovely little cafe with friendly staff and good service. My pastrami, lettuce, mustard sauce and cheddar cheese sandwich was AMAZING. The inside was warm and the pastrami the best I have ever tasted by far. My husband had pancakes, bacon and maple syrup- also very good. Well done Papas cafe. Thanks for a great lunch.
Excellent service from the moment we arrived. The owner, who also served us, was very attentive, and it’s clear this is a well-run family business. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and came in generous portions. We came from London for the Seven Sisters hike and stumbled upon Golden Palace — such a great find! If I ever return to Seaford, I’d definitely come back. Highly recommended!
Authentic Italian food, that delights the tastebuds and leaves you wanting more! The pasta dishes and their sauces were delicious, the chef either is Italian or really understands what Italian cuisine is all about. Everything eaten had a unique and scrumptious flavour to it. Service was good and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice too. The only reason this restaurant didn't get the full 5 stars from me was due to my partner's pasta being slightly on the raw side rather than al dente (but I found this quite minor and pasta consistency can be quite subjective), also quite pricey. However, I would definitely go again, and recommend anyone looking for proper Italian food in Surbiton to go here. Anywhere else and you're wasting your time.
Original review below from 2017, sadly as of Nov 2023 now seems to be closed. Facebook showed closure as of July but hours not updated. Wasn't open on a Saturday afternoon/evening when we visited.
Fantastic hospitality, great beers. need to come back to try the food!
