The best restaurants in England

Such a change to find a pub/restaurant that caters for vegetarians as well as vegans. If I'm eating out I want real food, not fake meat and fake cheese so it was a real treat to be offered apricot and Stilton pate and cheesy Wensleydale potato cakes with salad. Very friendly waitress and she was happy to check the ingredients of some of the dishes for me as I do have an unusual dietary restriction.

Nothing but positives. Best fish and chips in Penzance. Friendly and engaging staff. Large portions of fresh halibut (or cod) and delicious fries served at a fair price. Orders are prepared quickly and wrapped in paper for easy takeout. Indoor seating available if you prefer. Highly recommended.

Friendly atmosphere staff are amazing. Quite possibly the best coffee made in the Bay. I love their latte. Summer is queen of the coffee making with perfect top layer decorations. Obviously all the other team are awesome too. Jess, Marta, Charlie, Caitlyn and the whole team, sorry if I've not mentioned you by name. The food is delicious and it's the perfect location.

We received an extremely warm welcome . Everything was very relaxed and comfortable. We chose to eat inside, but there is a lovely beer garden at the back with plenty of tables. The service was superb and friendly throughout. The food was excellent. Substantial fish and chips, mouth watering confit of pork belly, delightful halloumi fries. The baby scallop with pea purée starter was a highlight. A delightful lunch with friends and good value . I hope to return very soon

A welcoming and atmospheric restaurant in the village. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming when I celebrated a big birthday with 40 friends and family.

Vinimos por el día de la madre. Saludo cordial como siempre. Todos pedimos la cena del domingo, con diferentes opciones de carne . Todo cocinado maravillosamente con un montón de verduras y salsa rica. Nos saltamos los entrantes, así que tuvimos mucho espacio para el postre. Los postres volvieron a estar llenos de sabor y gran valor. El servicio fue excelente de principio a fin. Lo mejor de este café es que, ya sea la cena del domingo o un desayuno inglés completo, la calidad y el servicio son brillantes.

Always friendly staff, been here for tapas and their Sunday roast! Both delicious and would return for again.

Edit December 2023: The venue has been closed down with an emergency health notice. After many years going very regularly, it seems Bar Maroc are having difficulties to remain well stocked and well attended :( Visited twice in recent times and card machine not working, drinks selection very limited, no fizzy drinks (or was advised the non-alcoholic draughts would be pretty flat), ran out of juice and pizzas quickly, no more marinated olives. Not sure if it's the summer hols or students being away but the venue was pretty empty. It's a real shame as this is really a unique institution in Huddersfield. Hopefully only a temporary difficult period for the venue 🙏🏼

Our favourite Indian. Always happy polite staff, Delicious food cooked to a high standard and of course, the main sign of a good indian takeaway..... extra poppadoms. How can you fault that? 😍

Celebramos una celebración especial a bordo de la Condesa. De principio a fin, el día fue absolutamente perfecto! El personal, la tripulación y el chef eran de primera categoría y cada huésped se fue con una sonrisa. Se sintió como una experiencia única en la vida y sin duda lo recomendaría a los visitantes y lugareños por igual! Ya estamos planeando o el próximo crucero.

Fantastic chippy, great service, great food and steady stream of locals getting their dinner. DO NOT GOTO THE MARKET PLACE CHIPPY. GO HERE.
