This is our first visit to Bristol and we were looking for something to do so decided to book this. Thoroughly enjoyed it, we booked it through a different website so it included a pizza and 2x glasses of prosecco. The show was great, very intimate but very good. Magician was walking round after the showing doing various tricks also. Drinks fairly priced

Came here for the Friday night Comedy/Magic Show & had an absolute blast. Plenty of impressive magic, even more jokes and tons of audience involvement in a cosy area. One of a kind evening.

I recently attended a comedy and magic show, and it was an absolute delight! The blend of humor and mind-blowing magic tricks kept the entire audience engaged from start to finish. The comedian (Daniel Chard - great guy) was sharp, witty, and had everyone laughing non-stop, while the magician’s illusions were simply jaw-dropping. The pacing was perfect, with just the right balance between laughs and awe-inspiring moments. It's a fun and memorable experience for all ages. Highly recommend if you're looking for a night full of entertainment and surprises! After the venue there was a show of few card tricks, Jack Campbell is a living proof that cards can be magical too, still have no idea how they do this without breaking laws of physics. Great show and great evening guys, thank you!

Amazing place and show! If visiting Bristol you need to come to a show here. Drink deals were well priced and the pizzas people were having looked great. Came here for my birthday as a treat and we weren't disappointed

Pizza was pretty terrible. The pre made pizza base went really hard and crunchy after slight cooling (2nd slice to be precise) which made the rest pretty inedible (I left half) magic was impressive and very funny in places. Acknowledge act doesn’t have time to interact with everyone but felt the interaction was with everyone but us

As always an entertaining and enjoyable evening. We didn't have food, but looked good, the 2-4-1 cocktails were also good value.

Went to the venue last night with my family to celebrate my birthday 14 of us. We had a great time everybody really enjoyed it the acts were brilliant would definitely go again.All the staff were so friendly and the acts were really goo

A fun bar/show, we went to the evening show and while the cocktails weren’t the best, the show was great, very funny and a decent amount of magic, the up close magic at the bar while you wait was a nice touch

Went for the first time last night and we sat at the front! The atmosphere was buzzing with good comedy and impressive magic! I will definitely go again without a doubt and try the pizza and stay later for a dance to the live band!

Good fun, great prices (via Groupon) and made for a great evening's entertainment! Would definitely return to see other performances.

Great pub with great entertainment, we spent the day in Bristol and booked the Monday night show. It was my partners first time at a comedy show and we were sat front row, slap bang in the middle, she was very nervous and was worried we were going to be picked on. Emma Coyne was a great laugh and instantly made her worries disappear, incredibly enjoyable night with lots of laughs. Didn’t try the pizzas but saw lots of people trying them. We liked the 2 for 1 special on the cocktails and recommend “purple rain” and “Woowoo”

Very amusing show! However, we had a somewhat strange experience. The performers were very keen on directly interacting with the audience, which made for great laughs. And because of that, I was a bit nervous that I would be picked to go on stage, but it was clear that everyone could eventually be required to participate, so I just accepted my fate. To my surprise, my husband, my mom, and I actually didn't receive any interaction throughout. It's a strange thing to comment on considering I didn't want the interaction in the first place, but there was a point in the show where the performer went through the entire audience row by row but skipped us and interacted with every other group. I don't know if they thought we might not be fun to interact with, but we did feel ostracized by the end of it.

The 2 magicians were both very good and funny. We had a great night.

Me and my partner had such a great time at this! If you're looking for something to fill an evening this is definitely a must! Food was great and Dan Chard had us laughing the entire show! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this !!! Fantastic night beginning with magic at your table before going through to the stage. Still trying to work out even one of piece of the magic ! Staff and magicians amazing. So worth the money

Staff were really friendly, the food was nice and it was great to be entertained with magic tricks while eating and waiting for the show to begin, both acts were fun to watch and very entertaining

Nice unique little venue next to the hipodrome. Back room allows for shows with an intimate audience setting. Saw a great comedy/magic routine with friends and had a great couple of hours.

I recently dined at Cote Restaurant and was impressed by the excellent service provided by Giorgia, the manager. From the moment we arrived, Giorgia ensured that our dining experience was exceptional. She was attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, complemented by the delicious French cuisine served. Overall, Giorgia's exceptional service added to the enjoyment of our evening, and I would highly recommend dining at Cote Restaurant for a memorable experience.

Had a great nights entertainment with magic and comedy. Wasn't surewhat to expect given the size of the venue but was pleasantly surprised. The host and show were fantastic, would highly recommend.

Love this place usually, but went in with my wife and daughters Saturday (checked girls' ages for suitability), at 17:30 - first people in, and took a table with some drinks waiting for the close up magician ("Dapper") to start his shift at 18:00, only for him to totally avoid eye contact with our party, work the tables around us, and ignore us completely. He knew we were there first, as it was just he and us in the bar for 25 minutes, and clearly bringing young people in is BECAUSE they want to see the wonder of the magic. We all left pretty annoyed and disappointed. Won't be hurrying back 🤷🧙‍♂️

Great experience! Something different and very fun! I made a mistake on my booking and the customer service was responsive and helpful. Apart from a great performance, I felt the magicians genuinely wanted everyone to have an amazing time. The pre show magician who goes table to table in the bar before the performance, maybe give them a card reader - it's a bit awkward if you don't have cash and they have a cup for tips

Went to see the Magic and Comedy show. Dan Chard was the magician for the evening , he was amazing! Everything he did was magical and funny! I thought this would be a one off that we would attend but after this evenings act we will definitely be back to see more shows! Such a good evening, if your considering going to a show just book it you won’t be disappointed !

Felt like a very weird prison visit. Very intrusive emailing system which reminded me multiple times that I had bought a ticket and listed all the behaviours they would not tolerate and how they would punish these. Made me not want to go. On arrival they check your name is on the list and give you a pager to hold until they summon you to the auditorium door 20 feet away and easily visible. They give you no choice of seating and take no account of disability. Again they instruct you about their rules, telling you not to leave the auditorium during the show. The quality of the show was poor and I left at the interval. The MC was simply rude to everyone and not funny. Two of the three comedians were dull, one of whom, an Australian, shouted into the microphone annoyingly in an auditorium with maybe 30 chairs. So I'll cross that off my list of stand up venues...... Seven months later I decided to give it another try because the MC for the night had made me laugh with her stand up "I am a recovering chav". Sadly she just chatted dully with the front row and addressed all the women as Babes, verifying her chav status. This is a tiny pleasant venue and they all shouted into the microphone totally unecessarily. The first act was a Jewish bloke from Cardiff who had made me laugh a lot at Zion but he just shouted into the microphone and ignored my suggestion that he didn't need it. The second act was I think the same tall Australian woman who shouted into the microphone on my first visit so I left as it was deafening. A pity.

Great place, love the stand-up comedy shows there. Lit comedians and fab waiters! Whether alone or with friends, be assured to have a fantastic time!

Went for the comedy magic show on a Saturday and had a great time. The first half (which is mostly a comedy show) was hilarious. Second half was more magic which is awesome if you like that sort of thing

Did not try any food. We just went for a drinks with the magic comedy act, its smaller than it looks online imo. The second act was good but the first was mid at best. Worth going again if the acts are good. It's definitelyva unique place to visit but hopefully they will have a bigger venue in the future for a better atmosphere

The show was good albeit a bit basic, they made up for it with some good comedy and the magic was at the bar with the roaming magician and general quick and happy service.

This was our first visit to Smoke and Mirrors, and it definitely won't be our last! We had a fabulous evening - the house magician doing close up magic was really good, and was a great way to start the night. It was a sign of the high quality magic we were about to experience throughout the night, with Jaimie doing many impressive slight of hand and misdirection tricks right in front of us. Once it was time for the main show to begin, we were called through (although we nearly didn't as we had forgotten to register with the staff that we had arrived - make sure you do otherwise you won't be called through!), and were sat down at a table in a very cosy room - a really intimate gig but it enhanced the experience for us and made it feel really personal which was nice. Marc was fantastic and certainly knew what he was doing. We really enjoyed the show, and the show put on the guest performer of the night too. It never felt awkward or stilted, and we were made to feel welcome in the pub and for the show. Thanks for a great night and we hope to return soon!

Came for the comedy magic show and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a little bit of magic in the bar beforehand which was a good warm-up to the show. The room for the show was perfect in that it was intimate and we were all facing the stage on our own tables and could easily see the stage. The deal we booked involved prosecco and a shared pizza - both were very nice. The magicians were very entertaining - got the audience involved, amazed us and made us laugh - what more could you want!

Magic and comedy show was okay but slightly underwhelming, the jokes we'rent all that laughable and the magic was average at best....many of the illusions have been done repeatedly, so the magic show definitely lacks originality and skill,unfortunately it's in a squashed room with uncomfortable seating, the name of the place made it sound like we were going to be expecting something great whereas we would have been much better off going to see something else...£50 for 2 people is absolutely ridiculous to ask for a "comedy and magic" show of this extremely low Calibur, I do not recommend and would not return.

Pros Great intimate venue, very friendly and helpful staff, clean, live music. Entertaining and funny magic show! Cons - There was nowhere to put my drinks while watching the show so I had to put my beer by my feet which I kept knocking with my foot and having to bend down to pick up. - The crowd participation was really fun but even though there were only 15-20 people the same 5 people kept getting picked to go up on stage which was disappointing. - There really wasn't much of a selection for beers and they had also ran out of some of the ones they did have --- Some other things to note is you don't get to choose where you sit so don't worry about arriving too early to try and get a good seat

I brought my dad here with the voucher deal, which entitles you to a show, pizza, fries, and a drink. The show was hilarious and the audience was great as well. The pizza was alright but the fries were lovely. Right outside there is a taxi rank as well as a great pickup space for Ubers. It was a great experience and I would recommend it greatly.

The show was amazing. It is a super small theater which felt like a private showing, but there were enough people there to make it fun. The magicians were awesome. We laughed and while I knew some of the tricks, there were plenty that left me with no clue how they did it. Drinks were great, don't order the pizza unless you just can't make it till after the show.

We spent the weekend in Bristol and booked this venue. It was full so we recommend booking as a must. You can arrive earlier and enjoy some drinks and snacks before the show. You can also bring this with you inside the venue. You will be asked if you are ok to sit at the front which was absolutely fine. We were treated to a magic pre show moment 🪄 at the bar, involving cards, he was also great! Since this is a small place there is a lot of interaction with the public and everything is quite close. We liked it. I personally preferred the first part I thought it was funnier. Oh and my wine was not good but it did not spoil my evening. We had great fun and we would definitely come back.

First time visit on a trip to Bristol. Lively bar and great little theatre venue. The pre-show close up magician was nice touch and the Pizza very good. Mark did the show and it was great fun with plenty of audience participation. We were on the front row and shared one of the tricks on stage (it was my actual birthday). I can't imagine coming to Bristol and not going again. Highly recommended. 😎

Weird is all I can say. Lots of people going to watch the show out the back so obviously a popular place but I thought it was a standard pub so I was surprised to find a theatre inside. There was a magician visiting the tables doing card tricks for money.

What a fantastic place. If you like magic with adult humour thrown in, I can't recommend this place enough. Totally worthwhile.
