Excellent food, excellent beer, excellent decor, excellent sauces and excellent service. Billy was particularly great. Visited 18th feb 👌

Very very expensive. The food is not worth the money and beers are also expensive. Plates are poor, not really much staff it seems they go opposite, less food more money 🤑😂

The waitress we had (slim, blonde, sparkly earrings, glasses and a vegan herself) was very good. Bright and welcoming and very efficient. I was a little bit disappointed when I arrived and was told that I should have told them at booking that I couldn't really use the stairs (didn't see anything on the booking app and I'd never been to the place before) - but it was sorted out in the end and we ate downstairs.

Our first visit for food and we found the menu and service very good. The atmosphere is very pleasant, we sat on the mezzanine which has a nice outlook. Our server was lovely and she looked after us perfectly. The food was good value and tasty and the beer was great!

Paid £7.50 for a few bullet hard Halloumi Fries and £5.50 for Hard dried greasy foccacia way too salty. Not impressed. Barman couldn’t tell the the difference between a bottle of Rosé and and a Pinot Noir. Sorry guys you need to try harder.

Booked a table at Chelmsford's Brewhouse and Kitchen and from start to finish we had a fantastic night. Drogon was our waiter as he couldn't have been more attentive, made sure we had drinks and we happy throughout the evening. Food was lovely, good portions and reasonably priced.

Friendly staff and a great atmosphere, they also Brew their own Ales very tasty a nice place to eat and drink 🍻😋

Excellent night. Rhys really knew his brewing. Fascinating history and knowledge of beers. Would thoroughly recommend the beer tasting experience. An absolute master class from a master brewer

Ive been going to this place quite a few times It does have some good food. On the menu. Mainly the meat section and the appetisers. Also the ceaser salad was nice when I had it in the summer. But the some of desserts and Main food arent really my cup of tea. For instance the burgers need alot more flavour in them. When I had the buttermilk chicken burger there wasnt any salt. Or flavouring to the buttermilk chicken burger. When I had the desserts especially the orange chocolate tart in the summer it wasnt my cup of tea. But the cinnamon and nutella was. Also the cookie and nutella dough was a bit too sweet. And also wasnt my cup of tea. Also I tried the Halloumi battered in beer and chips on the main menu. It wasnt at all appetising. had to much batter and oil in the halloumi the halloumi on the appestisers menu is alot more tasty than what I had. I could eat my chips but I couldnt eat all the halloumi and oily batter But it also had a odd after taste. So when I got back home I had to eat sweets etc to get rid of the taste in my mouth. Those are the few foods. Im not to keen on the menu and probably need alot more improvement on. But nice atmosphere friednly staff and some good foo on the menu. Thats all.

Our trip here was with a “Buy A Gift” voucher which was a present to us from a family member. On our arrival there was a great deal of confusion even though the voucher had been mentioned when the booking had been made. The staff seated us at a table and we waited quite some time. Eventually we were able to order. The six taster beer bats, two pints in all each were huge fun and the brewer was a lovely chap telling stories about the beers. The meal was tasty. The room was cold and lacked any real atmosphere. I certainly would advise against buying these gift vouchers.

The food was average, but the beer was great. The service was the main problem, which messed up the order several times. The atmosphere was pretty nice.

The food was great. Great atmosphere and friendly staff! We did like the taste of the food. We ordered 3 small plates starters for £19 pounds but did think they were bit small! The dessert was good and the in house brewed beer is a must try!

Did the Brewery Experience Day with Rhys and was fantastic. Really informative and got involved in brewing a batch of beer plus got to sample many of the other beers they brew.Really recommended

Really lovely vibe, great location. Staff excellent and helpful. Good range of food on menu but the veggie burger patty itself was so dry which was a shame as the rest of the meal was great. Definitely keen to return but would order differently.

Unfortunately it was a cold day outside when we visited and unfortunately it was not much warmer inside. Many sitting with coats and jackets on.

We didn't order from the food menu but the selection looked incredible! We sat with a few drinks and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, the amazing staff and the great beer!

Everything was so great here- the food, the atmosphere, and most of all…Lisa. She was quite possibly the best server ever. From the moment we walked in she was so friendly and accommodating, and she made some great suggestions for food and drink. She’s the best! I highly recommend visiting here

Lisa our waitress was excellent and wonderful. She welcomed us looked after us so well. We didn't have time to try all the brews. We will be back.

We visited for a sunday lunch, the staff were generally friendly, but it did take a while for someone to notice/acknowledge us, upon arrival, which felt odd. We both had a roast dinner, whilst it was tasty and the chicken was good, it wasn't very hot, I requested some additional gravy that never arrived. So all in all, I am not in a mad hurry to go back, given the prices.

Enjoyed a fantastic brewery experience day in the Chelmsford branch. Rhys the brewer imparted his enthusiasm for his craft to all of us. It was both entertaining and informative. The brewing activities were great fun and all the better for being interspersed with tasters of the wide range of beers available! The lunch was excellent and all the staff were friendly and provided a great service. Highly recommend visit and if you have any interest in beer and brewing the Brewery Experience Day is a must. Took part in the brew day experience on Saturday 20th January. What a fantastic day we had. Rhys is so enthusiastic about his craft (sorry for the pun) and explained every step expertly allowing us all to get involved in the process. I've been on brewery tours before, but this was on another level. It was awesome that we got to see the whole process from beginning to end. Add in great food, plenty of beer tasting and a mini keg at the end. The day was just about perfect. Thanks Rhys.

Been to the BH&K in Cardiff a few times but never the one in my home town. It's nicely laid out, prices are in line with most other places in Chelmsford, and the food was nice. Staff were pleasant and the vibe was good for a Tuesday night. I'll go back.

Had the gin tasting experience, hosted by Tash at the Brewhouse & Kitchen in Chelmsford. Tash had great knowledge and was really knowledgable about all things that happen in Brewhouse. Got to find out and try gins we wouldn’t necessarily choose and came away having thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the food! Will do again. Thanks Tash.

After being in the bar for about 5mins, the barman threatened to bar me because someone in the party took my drink off me and complained that it was to cloudy. I quote "I don't care how much your spending here, if he talks like that to my staff again you can get out". Then I my starter turned up 20mins after everyone's else's. Which is a shame because the food was really nice. response to owner: -I think your kind of missing the point, if you look at the footage your assistant manager marches over to me and has a go at me. Again look at the footage, you will see that I did not abuse your staff in any way, but yet your staff was rude to me. also didn't put in the original post, but the guy brewing the beer agreed that the my beer didn't look right and I should go get another one.

Went for a staff meal with my colleagues before our NYE shift and we all really enjoyed it. The food was lovely, defo recommend

Brewhouse is our go-to in Chelmsford as very dog friendly and always have a great experience. NYE did not disappoint and it exceeded our expectations! Table for 3 with dog in side annex. Excellent food - prawns, burger & hake, sticky toffee pud, cheesecake. Service attentive and always with a smile. Staff really seem to enjoy being there - credit to management. Live music a bonus. Security on door and paid off as similar minded people enjoyed the night. Very likely to go next year too, but would ask if poss to have tables later than 7pm, as we were too full then to drink till we were merry ;) Thank you all

Great place for a night out but would say sound needs to be balanced. Was very loud upstairs but perfect downstairs. Visionly, it's an amazing place to go

Christmas Dinner with work friends at the Brewhouse and Kitchen - we got told beforehand that we only had a couple of hours as we would need to free up the table. When we got there the table had not been prepared... crackers were given out whilst we were there and cutlery was eventually bought over to us (oddly after the food was served!) Thankfully the food was pretty good, and as we had ordered in advance there was no real worries about finishing within 2 hours (albeit there was a lot of empty tables round us so not sure they really 'needed' us to finish!) Would certainly visit again if in the area and fancied some food / drink...

Had a great beer tasting experience with Rhys, very knowledgeable about the brewing process and very much enjoyed the evening. Would recommend this for couples or groups who enjoy tasting different beers and learning about them too. Thank you 👍

Really friendly and hard working staff. We've had Sunday lunch here before and now 3 courses for our Christmas meal with friends from our Community Group. We had a really good time together and will be looking to book a table at the venue again.

Went in for lunch yesterday and our server, Lisa, couldn’t do enough for us. She was very attentive and lovely and bubbly. Food was lovely. Steak and chips off the lunch menu, great value for money

I hosted the very first Content Club session using the workspace option at Brewhouse - the team couldn’t be more accommodating for supporting the event, whilst managing the other customers - lots of Christmas parties were coming in just as we were on the wind down of our session, which is a challenge at this time of year but the team managed it with ease. A lovely atmosphere to work in and great value! We’ll be back next year for more sessions using the workspace option.

Always a joy to be in here. The staff are genuinely happy and welcoming. Great food and drink selection. They treat the dog like a queen, bringing fresh bacon and treats made onsite with the beer hops.

I saw such good reviews for this place and was really keen to try. Our train got cancelled so thought we might as well try it out. (Edit: I never asked to rush the food. I asked if an hour was enough time due to our train and I was happy to have starters and main arrive at the same time). The service was good and the servers were very friendly. The atmosphere couldn’t be faulted either. However, the food was awful. I had the quarter beer soaked chicken, which was lukewarm, tasted like it had been boiled multiple times, the gravy tasted of nothing, and it smelt old. I picked at it and said to my husband that I didn’t like it when the server came over and asked how it was, in my panic I said “great” but I should’ve said something then but we were concerned about getting our train due to the disruption. My husband had the chicken dirty fries and it was described as shredded but he had to spit a bit out as it had a bone in the middle. The price seemed excessive as four soggy prawns (Louisiana Buttermilk Prawns) shouldn’t cost £7.50. However, the issue with the food appeared that it wasn’t poor due to haste in preparation but that the quality of ingredients appeared to be low grade and old. Overall very disappointing and if I hadn’t paid at the bar then I may have been vocal but I just wanted to leave after spending £50 on something I barely ate. My husband ate his burger as he hadn’t eaten all day but he described it as a cheap frozen burger. I fully admit that I should’ve spoken up. We enjoyed the beer and atmosphere but we will not return as we could honestly eat better in Wetherspoons for far cheaper.

We always love hosting our work events at the Brewhouse. Unlike other restaurants where you might feel tucked away, they have a private room at the back with a fantastic atmosphere. The attentive servers never fail to check in on us every few minutes to see if we need anything, ensuring we're well taken care of. Huge thanks to the awesome team at Brewhouse! 😊

Cold very very cold. No one removed their overcoats. I had to keep my scarf on, and even my hat. The food was warm as it arrived, but became cold half way through due the draft coming from the window. The staff explained that the heating was not working in that room.

Walked in two people having a play fight by the door as you walk in. Went to bar got two drinks sat down husband Went to the toilet two urinals out of order then the only toilet available was covered in vomit walked out got a refund on drinks as below average wouldn't recommend it.

The team were really accommodating to our needs. A work xmas do is never simple to organise but they assisted us without complaint many times! The xmas menu was lovely and we had some really friendly waiters/waitresses. All round, a great experience.

We had the Christmas menu and had a lovely time yesterday afternoon, the food and service were very good. Our waitress Laura was extremely efficient, friendly and fun.

Went along last month for beer testing experiance that I bought by dad for Fathers Days. Both had an amazing time, we were in a small group who were hosted by Rhys. He was a fantastic host and had an in depth knowledge of the 8 beers were tasted (also fantastic). We then had the best burger I've ever had to soak it all up. So impressed I was that I am I recommended this place to my colleagues and we are having our Christmas meal here! Thanks again Rhys and team, will be back soon!

Really nice bar, not eaten there yet, Bloody Mary's are excellent! Icon Pilsner is also very good. Main issue is the heating, it was freezing in there and everybody was sitting inside in their coats in the bar area.

We went to the Chemlsford Brew House for the whole day brewing master class with Reese, their master brewer. It was a fantastic day starting with bacon butties then lunch and sampling all the beers that Reece brews right their on the premises. along with geting hands on brewing nearly 500 Litres of Northwest American IPA. If you there in December you will be drinking the beer that we made! Its a great day if you are interested in beer. And as as committed Ale drinker my favourite was the Vienna Lager! Who Knew! As a bonus I got to take home a 5L keg of me new favourite Larger! What is not to like? I thoroughly recommend it as a day out.

Attended a Beer Masterclass at the Brewhouse & Kitchen last night run by Rhys. Good range of beers to try with Rhys explaining each one in just the right amount of detail for us. He made the evening interesting and fun and I would absolutely recommend this event to anybody interested in beer or wanting to try some different types.

Impressive building, plenty of seating on ground level and upstairs. Handy TV screens with the latest train details if you've popped in for a swift drink beforehand or waiting for an arrival. We had booked a table and were shown to the restaurant area on ground floor off the side of the main bar area. Unfortunately there were old chips and food on the floor which hadn't been swept up from earlier. The area was empty so it was missed maybe on the change from lunch to dinner. The server Billy was wonderfully attentive and is an asset to the venue. The beer can chicken was a bit disappointing, dry and overcooked but the cheeseburger and battered halloumi were tasty. Would visit again for a drink and a cheeseburger.

Ordered pie kale and mash with gravy was really nice will definitely go again.

Great place to enjoy an ale or two brewed on site. Good selection for all tastes, definitely try the 8am stout. Food was decent, not a huge selection but reasonably priced. Service was great, and you can order from your phone. Lots of seating upstairs and down.

I absolutely loved it here. We were a group of four arriving at the train station and needing lunch before our appointment. The Brewhouse & Kitchen was just opposite the station, so very convenient. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who looked after us, found us a nice table, gave us samples of their own beer, and explained the menu. The food was nice and nicely presented and the prices on the lunch menu were reasonable. Just perfect for a tired traveller.

Lovely conversion of a historic building. Bright and glitzy interior with on site brewery. Nice staff. Apologies lack of detailed review but just had a quick half whilst waiting bus to Maldon.
