Popped into the Brewhouse and Kitchen Chelmsford today, (Monday) housed in the very impressive Queen Anne building, right opposite the railway station in Duke Street. I have been here before, but apon entering, you can't help but be amazed at the vast size of the interior! It's a double floored building, but despite the size, it's very welcoming, very tastefully decorated, and you instantly get the sense of a good atmosphere! I was instantly welcomed by Lisa, who with a big smile, and a very welcoming 'hello' soon made me feel very at home and comfortable. The place was quite busy, as it was lunchtime, but Lisa and her colleague Naz, both worked very hard and were always on the go, with a constant stream of customers. Apon approaching the bar, every customer was welcomed with a friendly smile and hello, and were served very promptly! I decided to have the Monday deal. Double cheeseburger, fries, dip, and a pint of any of the many beers and ciders for £12.95! (Other items are available on the menu) It was served up very quickly, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious, and looked amazing when served to the table! The picture that you see advertising the burger, is exactly how it looked on the plate....and was also very filling!.... Wonderful! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful setting, warm welcome and atmosphere, delicious, beautifully cooked food and enough choice of beers and ciders to keep anyone happy. This together with the very friendly, hard working staff (again, a big shout out for Lisa and Naz) the Brewhouse is certainly worth a visit, it won't disappoint! Thanks for a lovely lunch Andy

I recently got married at Chelmsford registry office, a few days before I looked at what pubs and restaurants were in the area, going by the fantastic reviews for Brewhouse & Kitchen chose to take my wedding party of 8 adults and four children there. We was a little early so waited to be seated upstairs, once we were seated it took a while before anyone came to our table, we eventually ordered drinks and my daughter asked if there was a children's menu, it took so long for anyone to come back my daughter looked online fore the menu and chose the children's meals, she also asked for the children's activity sheets, again the children waited so long they was getting bored and irritable, when they were brought to the table apologies we're made because they couldn't find any crayon's so we searched our bags for pens. When we did receive the food 2 people had ordered pie and mash and the mash was stone cold they took so long bringing hot mash that they had finished eating their pies, and 1 person ordered chicken wings and received cauliflower wings. I have to admit the price of the pie dinners and the wings were taken off of the final bill but what a shambles! I also have to say that the food that was served correctly was very good indeed, the decoration is very tasteful, and the place has a very good atmosphere , it's just a shame the service we received let our very special day down.

Amazing customer service, an enthusiastic and genuine personality that is an absolute asset to your company. So rare these days to experience customer service at this level and sincerity. My wife and I recently had the pleasure of having a private event at Brewhouse and Kitchen Chelmsford We can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional, entirely down to the staff - the team was super-accommodating, ensuring that every detail of our event was handled with care and professionalism. Id like to praise Catia and Jean in particular for always going the extra mile for us, really making everything come together (despite a few last minute changes and blips on our side!). In addition the staff that manned the bar for us were amazing and deserve recognition also, but my apologies, I didn't get their names! Our guests all said how impressed they were with the event, service and quality of food & drink. Spontaneously tried this place for lunch. First time here. A huge thank you to Lisa - what a lovely lady! We were welcomed with almost literal open arms haha. She was wonderful and the cherry on top of our delicious lunch. Can't wait to come back!

Amazing place to go for a quick pint or have a full on night/day meals and drinks either way you will be very satisfied, the decor is perfect for the place of the building and the building itself being a 'old' building. And the staff are all very friendly helpful and polite. 100% recommended P.S The food chef Lewis and his team make is 🤌🏻.

We did the Brewery Experience with Rhys.We had the best day.From the moment we arrived to the end we were treated so well.Thought we were going for a brewery tour never realised we would be making the beer.The food and samples of beer were fantastic.if we could give Rhys 10 stars we would.We had a bit of confusion over our voucher which Rhys and the manager sorted.Its not a complaint but an OBSERVATION that the time between breakfast and lunch was not long but as my husband said the Brewing of Beer waits for no man.We would highly recommend this day.A shout out to the waitress I think her name was Lisa a credit to your company.

I recently hosted a charity quiz night at Brewhouse and Kitchen, and it was an outstanding success! The venue was perfect for our event, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that made everyone feel comfortable and excited to participate. The staff went above and beyond to support our cause. From helping us set up the quiz equipment to ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the night, their assistance was invaluable. The craft beers and delicious food were a hit with our attendees. The menu offered something for everyone, and the quality of both the drinks and dishes was top-notch. It added a special touch to the evening, making it enjoyable for all. A huge thank you to Shaun, Catia and the team who was instrumental in making the night run smoothly. Their dedication and attention to detail were evident, and they were incredibly supportive of our charity efforts. Overall, Brewhouse and Kitchen provided an exceptional venue for our charity quiz night. We raised a significant amount for our cause, and everyone had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to host a successful and memorable event!

Noticed the burger and beer offer (Mondays) when walking from the bus. Came back to the Brewhouse for lunch and were glad we did. Welcomed by Lisa, who was very friendly, cheerful and accommodating. Let us taste the beers to make sure we made the right choice. Had cheeseburgers and the vegan burger, with IPA, pilsner and they even had 2 gluten free options for beer. All In all good choice for a day out for family of 5.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, with a side helping of enthusiastic staff. Nas and Lisa went above and beyond to make our first visit memorable. Down to earth and funny. It felt like being around friends rather than strangers. Thanks guys!

Served by the star of Brewhouse, a superb waitress (name forgotten) , whose son supports Liverpool. Whole team is friendly and efficient. Food good too!

Food was great and the service was initially great. Once we finished our meal, despite sitting with empty glasses at our table we were ignored for quite a while. No offer of further drinks like before and no offer if we’d like the bill until we finally managed to catch someone’s attention. I think it took about 30/40 minutes before anyone came to check on us after having our plates cleared. A shame because the service was great to start with.

Great service today from Lisa despite us arriving as a big party without having booked, as we should have. The 5 stars are for you! Lunch menu has a great choice of substantial sandwiches with or without fries. We will be back and promise to book ahead next time.

A group of 4 of us popped in for a mid day lunch from work and took a table upstairs. The place looks fabulous from the outside and once in only gets better. Love the decor and the brewing on the left hand side as you work through looks amazing We were greeted quickly at our table by Lisa who is truly the hostess with the mostest. She asked if we had been before we hadn’t and so told us about the brewing and the beers for the beer drinkers She was so well informed about the menu and absolutely nothing was too much trouble Good menu lots to choose from and we had a selection of dishes all very good. She told us how to find out about future events and had a genuine interest in us and making sure we had a good experience If only more bars and restaurants had people like Lisa

i was very happy with my dinner and service. My waitress, Ruby, was very friendly and helped me decide what to order. And i was not disappointed, the chicken schnitzel was well seasoned, and was delivered at the perfect temperature. I will be returning

Had a lovely time at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Chelmsford. From the moment we arrived until we left two hours later we were treated exceptionally well by our waitress Harlie. She explained everything that was involved with our experience, guiding us through the food and drinks menus, and attending regularly to ensure we were fine. Such an amazing experience and we will be back.

My father and I recently took part in the Brewery Experience day with Rhys. Starting at 10am and running until around 5pm, I found this a really good value for money considering breakfast, lunch, coffee and many different beer and ale tastings were included throughout the day. Rhys was incredibly passionate and informative and was a major part in a really enjoyable day. You can get as involved as much as you want with the brewing process, I was happy to get my hands dirty but my dad who has Parkinson’s was more than happy being a spectator. Rhys was very considerate to his condition which helped put him at ease and put no pressure on him to do anything he would feel uncomfortable with. Would highly recommend!

We love this spot but especially our waitress Lisa. She made us feel so welcome and special. She was not only friendly but knowledgeable. We will return when in the area.

After an extremely long day of traveling, I saw the inviting facade of Brewhouse and Kitchen. Lisa was wonderful and welcoming of myself and my luggage. Food and beverages were all wonderful!

We had Lisa as a server. It was a nice welcome to Chelmsford. Lisa was friendly and kind and gave us directions to some local shops and helped us get acclimated to our new surroundings wonderful place to stop after our train ride.

My first time here, meeting friends from all over. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed. The size, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and most of all, how it looked over all. The bar is fully stocked with many varieties of craft beer, of which my group had several, and everyone reported their drink was excellent. All of the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful, and considering our group was quite large, were very happy to chat, make suggestions and have a good laugh with us. A really special mention has to be made to our main server, who it turned out was just sixteen years old. She was happy to mess around with us - mostly loud nerdy guys - and especially, to give as good as she was getting. Have to say, we all had an excellent time, and our wonderful little server was the cherry on top of an brilliant night out. Really cannot recommend this pub highly enough. It's outside the railway station, and around the corner from the buses. A couple of us came up on the bus from Basildon, £2 each way. One hour journey. The same journey on the train is £27, takes an hour and a half, with two changes. Take the bus! And if you come across the sixteen year old server, give her a good heckle!

Large beer hall that self brews a wide range of mainly craft ale but also some cask. The keg is usual modern mix of sours, kellas and flavoured beer, quality and flavour was good. Cask on the other hand is not great, brews are a little on the bland and flat side, quality was ok but I think that is more dye to it being brewed in house rather than good cellermanship. Price of a paint is very high for Chelmsford at around 6.50 (50p less than city of London!) but given the average in town is around the 4 to 4.50 mark you can get better cheaper cask beer elsewhere.

A little lacking in atmosphere until the live entertainment started. We were the only people eating. Everyone else was out just for a few drinks. Service was good but the app for ordering wasn’t working well so we ordered via the waiting staff/at the bar.

B&K Chelmsford's outdoor seating is a great sun trap, now Spring is finally starting. Great to feel the warmth of the sunshine, sat in front of an ice cold pilsner.

So. I popped in to mange a video call. I was stressed however Lisa was Amazing. Sorted my order in 2 mins. Brought it to me with a smile. Saved my day! 💪

High standard and very helpful staff

I was very disappointed with this latest visit to Brewhouse in Chelmsford. I was early for my booking but seated quickly anyway. However, I sat there for 20 minutes and no-one asked me if I’d like a drink, let alone asked me for my food order. I had to ask at the service desk for service. The waitress then came and took my order and was full of apology. But, whilst that was nice to hear, it wasn’t enough really. I got my food in good time and that was good. But no-one came to check on me or, after I’d finished eating, asked me if I needed anything else - dessert or even the bill. Again, I had to go to the desk to ask for my bill and paid, But I did point out these deficiencies to the lad to whom I paid my bill and explained that was why I hadn’t left a tip. Overall, the atmosphere was tainted by a thumping beat in the background (it was only 6.30 ish) and everyone in the restaurant was having to talk so loud over it. And I didn’t feel at all relaxed in my setting.

Great food especially the wings and burgers

Been several times to the Brewhouse. Friendly staff, great beer excellent food and a busy atmosphere. What's not to like?

Firstly would say how cold we were today and unfortunately no where else we could be seated. The waiting staff were however exceptional. We were a group of 5 ladies and we ordered 2 bottles of pinot Grigio and a bottle of Malbec. The wine price was so misleading in bold lettering price was £18.90. For pinot and £20.90 for Malbec. When the bill came though the wine was £53 for Pinot and £32.50 for Malbec. When we queried the bill we were told that the highlighted price was for a carafe. It was very misleading and manager we asked to speak to had an appalling attitude and said well the price is the price. We think the wine menu is very misleading and should be rectified. Unfortunately a nice time was ruined not only by the cost of wine but the attitude of said manager. The main manager was apparently too busy to speak to us. It was also pointed out that many other customers had previously made the same complaint. I would appreciate any comments

Me and a friend came for a brewery experience day at Chelmsford and had a great time. Rhys the brew master was a great host, very knowledgeable and made the day really fun and interesting. The breakfast and lunch were great, and we got to try all the beers (they were all really good). 10/10 recommend.

Burger was tasty. Bar staff v friendly, courteous and helpful. Ambiance was a little flat (it was a quiet Easter Sunday!) but music was super low and barely audible. Refurbishment is good and an improvement on previous venue. Disappointed the venue was let down by the gents toilets (urinals) being very smelly!! Basic issue. What can I say…?!

Food was great we were up stairs and it was not that busy the young lady that served us was lovely and she said she was new The problem was that we did not see the staff much and had to get their attention because the staff were down stairs

A fantastic discovery right by Chelmsford Train Station- and we only found it by mistake! Fantastic food, excellent beers (according to my aunt as I’m a tee-toter myself) and wonderful atmosphere. Even the trainee server Kiara was so friendly, attentive and accommodating, clearly they know what they’re doing here! I personally would HIGHLY recommend the Buttermilk Chicken Burger (and be sure to “make it hot” and “dirty fries”- you’ll see what I mean when you come here!) Definitely make this your food stop when you’re in Chelmsford, you won’t regret it!

Three of of us had lunch today. Naz was our server. She was brilliant. The food and beer were very good too but Naz made our lunch especially enjoyable.

Booked a space from 9am to 2.30pm to accommodate colleagues that wanted to get a bit of work in prior to our catch up lunch. Service was impeccable and one of the servers came up to me and asked if I had heard about the Workspace offer - advised not, she explained it to me and then we joined up. Was a superb place to do a little bit of work in a relaxed and superb atmosphere and benefiting from unlimited tea and coffee for a minimal charge. The servers were excellent and engaged well with the banter at the table. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next monthly catch up - and the pretzel with beer cheese sauce - amazeballs as was all the other food.

Using farmed Basa fish instead of sea fish and the Focaccia was undercooked
