Popped in on a Thursday knowing there is a pub quiz. But apparently its online now. Exxex Fm who host it obviously don't really know how to conjure a pub atmosphere. Everyone looking at the phone doing the quiz. What was interesting was talking to a few young lads and they fell about laughing when they realised the quiz was via online. This pub need to work out people go out to interact not stare at a screen. Else stay at home with a 4 pack of fosters from the co-op. This place isnt a pub.

Decent brewpub. Had their Paddy's Jeep IPA. It was OK. Location close to the train station.

Hannah was amazing! A real good host! Made me and my friends feel really welcome! Would really recommend this place!

Great food, great staff particularly Catia, the atmosphere is brilliant created by the attitude and care of the staff.

We were gifted a Beer & Burger experience at this venue & it was a great idea. We got 6 (large) tasters each, far more than we expected & they were presented on a paddle. Sadly it turns out we don’t like beer but we had a good effort trying them anyway. The food was lovely and the staff were amazing. Happy, polite & could not be more helpful. We had Lisa & she made the whole experience so much fun. We would def go back but order lager instead or Beer. The venue itself is beautiful with booth seating up on a Mezine, would be fab in the evening. All in all a great place to go

We were a group of around 25. Waitresses looked stressed, one was very curt with an elderly gentleman whose dessert didn’t arrive. Meals chosen in advance so service should have been slick. Food was between warm and cold. Wouldn’t recommend for large groups.

Brewhouse 5* Kitchen 0*. Booked table for meal and drinks. Arrived and was told our table was upstairs, wasn’t taken to table. No table service for drinks, had to go to bar and get them. One starter was forgotten about. Mains came out while we were eating starters. Waitresses just stood there until we told them we weren’t ready. Dismissive manager when complaining about overcooked dessert. Overall experience was poor. Obvious lack of service staff

Oh dear BH&K ... must do better. Unsure if this was just a bad night, but so much to improve. Food was Ok, but nothing special. The service was not great, with one of our servers being totally rubbish and unfortunately clueless. Got our drinks wrong and had to be corrected by another staff member. Drinks were OK, but expensive. Espresso Martinis were ok, but not a full glass. The time to get served drinks was really long, that's if glasses for drinks were available! Now the worst part ... the toilets were disgusting! My partner had to hold her nose in the ladies which stank of wee. Some locks broken, and some toilets without loo paper. She also had to wipe down the seat where it was obvious that male customers were using the female toilets and weeing over the seats and floor. Over all ... we will not be going back in a hurry, and simply cannot recommend on the basis of our experience! Really poor show BH&K ... 😕

We had booked a booth but when we arrived it had been given to someone else and we were then placed right at the back of the restaurant. I asked the waitress to come over and take our food order but after 40 minutes of waiting we left. The atmosphere was odd as there was a very loud sports commentary being broadcast but no tv's showing the event. Music would have been better.

Attend here for a beer masterclass, absolutely fantastic, the guy that works there, Shaun was brilliant, done such a great job, great atmosphere, great food, would definitely book again, ideal place for a stag do, or a lads get together, can not fault it, had a great time

I have been here a couple of times now and the food is really nice and a very good price, but I have to say that our waitress today was absolutely amazing I wish she could be cloned and put into every hospitality setting and retail setting! LISA was an absolute ray of sunshine, bubbly, chatty, happy, very informative about the menu, she is exactly what customers want when they go out. I hope the managers realise what an excellent staff member they have.

I enjoy coming to the pub and decided to drag my parents here as they'd not experienced it yet. We were served by Nas and all the way thru and she was excellent. When we first arrived, she offered my parents testers of some beers and was very helpful. Couldn't do enough for us. Thank you Nas!

We were put in the corner of the conservatory and were the only ones dining in this area. All other diners appeared to be upstairs. No one came to take our food order, so after waiting nearly 30 mins went to find someone to give our order to. Our food eventually came and whilst my steak was fine, fellow diner's croquettes were burnt. These were taken off the bill as we would expect. All in all a disappointment, and very unlike previous visits.

We sat outside on a mild autumn day and enjoyed the brewhouse beer and cider selections. We like that the friendly staff offered up recommendations and were knowledgeable about the selection.

We love the Chelmsford Brewhouse & Kitchen, Just last night, we had a group of 26 people join us for drinks. Service is good and the space/ decor is great. It's a great venue for group gatherings. We will be back soon!

5 fellow church leaders & I just had a terrific lunch here. We were wonderfully served by Lisa. Both drinks and food were delivered to our tables in great time. All of us enjoyed our choices. I was very impressed with the Currywurst option I chose. Leckeres Essen! I couln't match Dixon Jr & Maddie's Munich experience..... but I joined in the whole Oktoberfest by ordering from that particular menu. We all agreed that this was THE place we would return to as it is nicely central to our towns and cities - and also handy for the station and car-parking. What's not to like? Sehr gute Brewhouse & Kitchen. You have won new customers.

A group of us ate today and found the food and atmosphere to be fantastic. Lisa who served us was an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble, she was cheery and efficient, putting us at ease. The food was really good and great value. We will return when next in Chelmsford!

I had a Brewery Experience Day hosted by Rhys, Master Brewer. This day exceeded any expectations I had. Rhys was awesome in his knowledge and in making it a fun and very enjoyable experience. A nice breakfast, awesome lunch, tried more beers than I care to remember and learnt alot about brewing with doing it first hand under expert guidance. I would thoroughly recomend it. The pub itself looks something special and has a great vibe about it.

I booked this for my partner's birthday, and since we were a larger group, we pre-ordered all our food well in advance. Despite this, they forgot four of our meals. By the time the missing orders arrived—almost an hour and 40 minutes after we got to the restaurant—the rest of the group had already finished eating. The starters were also delayed and didn’t arrive until after we had finished our main courses. What was most disappointing was that, despite all these mistakes, not a single apology was offered by any staff member. It's a real shame because the venue is beautiful, but the overall experience was a complete letdown.

Never been, but a friend had a gin tasting experience, and WOW! What an afternoon. Sean who hosted our experience was amazing, knew his stuff and was a really nice bloke. The gins and pairings were lovely. Nibbles for during the tasting and then a meal afterwards. 100% recommend x

We had our second 'work from brewhouse' writing day last week, besides it being ridiculously good value the service we received was fantastic. We were looked after by the lovely Naz who really couldn't have done more for us! An asset to the brewhouse!

The atmosphere and vibe inside immediately set my expectations quite high. Unfortunately the food was naf. We ordered loaded fries which were obviously just oven baked fries with a squirt of sweet chilli sauce and a chicken strip. The “beer cheese and garlic bread” was two tasteless flatbreads warmed with a pile of warm lettuce on top, couldn’t taste and garlic or any cheese, let alone ‘beer cheese’. Just overall very basic and underwhelming after paying £7.50 for each starter. Drinks were ok. Definitely won’t be coming back.

We had a big group for brewery experience which was lead by Rhys, he was absolutely incredible. Knowledgeable, funny and completely made the experience for all of us. I’d recommend the experience to anyone especially if it’s led by Rhys.

Beer - top drawer. What makes service good is putting things right. It took nearly an hour to get our drinks, struggled to communicate one of the soft drinks on the menue, we also crossed wires about the tasting board: the board is a set 6 beers, so we said "OK, we'll have 2 halves then" - which appeared... with 12 pints! - however, we were given some tasters & 2 free pints. After the initial REALLY slow service, they really clawed it back. Food was reasonable - beer outstanding, service great (from more experienced staff)

We did the Brewery experience day with Rhys and we honestly had the best day! Value for money is very good considering how hands on you are, what you learn and all the extras, drinks and food you are given throughout the day too. Food was fantastic and of course all the drinks were great too. The best part was learning from Rhys, very informative and knowledgeable which made the whole experience even better to learn fun facts and great stories all brewing related. We would definitely do it again as we had the best day. Rhys really is great and made it such a fun experience for us.

I recently got married at Chelmsford registry office, a few days before I looked at what pubs and restaurants were in the area, going by the fantastic reviews for Brewhouse & Kitchen chose to take my wedding party of 8 adults and four children there. We was a little early so waited to be seated upstairs, once we were seated it took a while before anyone came to our table, we eventually ordered drinks and my daughter asked if there was a children's menu, it took so long for anyone to come back my daughter looked online fore the menu and chose the children's meals, she also asked for the children's activity sheets, again the children waited so long they was getting bored and irritable, when they were brought to the table apologies we're made because they couldn't find any crayon's so we searched our bags for pens. When we did receive the food 2 people had ordered pie and mash and the mash was stone cold they took so long bringing hot mash that they had finished eating their pies, and 1 person ordered chicken wings and received cauliflower wings. I have to admit the price of the pie dinners and the wings were taken off of the final bill but what a shambles! I also have to say that the food that was served correctly was very good indeed, the decoration is very tasteful, and the place has a very good atmosphere , it's just a shame the service we received let our very special day down.

Popped into the Brewhouse and Kitchen Chelmsford today, (Monday) housed in the very impressive Queen Anne building, right opposite the railway station in Duke Street. I have been here before, but apon entering, you can't help but be amazed at the vast size of the interior! It's a double floored building, but despite the size, it's very welcoming, very tastefully decorated, and you instantly get the sense of a good atmosphere! I was instantly welcomed by Lisa, who with a big smile, and a very welcoming 'hello' soon made me feel very at home and comfortable. The place was quite busy, as it was lunchtime, but Lisa and her colleague Naz, both worked very hard and were always on the go, with a constant stream of customers. Apon approaching the bar, every customer was welcomed with a friendly smile and hello, and were served very promptly! I decided to have the Monday deal. Double cheeseburger, fries, dip, and a pint of any of the many beers and ciders for £12.95! (Other items are available on the menu) It was served up very quickly, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious, and looked amazing when served to the table! The picture that you see advertising the burger, is exactly how it looked on the plate....and was also very filling!.... Wonderful! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful setting, warm welcome and atmosphere, delicious, beautifully cooked food and enough choice of beers and ciders to keep anyone happy. This together with the very friendly, hard working staff (again, a big shout out for Lisa and Naz) the Brewhouse is certainly worth a visit, it won't disappoint! Thanks for a lovely lunch Andy

Wanted 20 mins for someone to take my order for Sunday lunch place was empty gave up and left.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Service was quick. Food was hot and well presented. Our waitress Naz was very friendly and helpful.

Amazing customer service, an enthusiastic and genuine personality that is an absolute asset to your company. So rare these days to experience customer service at this level and sincerity. My wife and I recently had the pleasure of having a private event at Brewhouse and Kitchen Chelmsford We can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional, entirely down to the staff - the team was super-accommodating, ensuring that every detail of our event was handled with care and professionalism. Id like to praise Catia and Jean in particular for always going the extra mile for us, really making everything come together (despite a few last minute changes and blips on our side!). In addition the staff that manned the bar for us were amazing and deserve recognition also, but my apologies, I didn't get their names! Our guests all said how impressed they were with the event, service and quality of food & drink. Amazing place to go for a quick pint or have a full on night/day meals and drinks either way you will be very satisfied, the decor is perfect for the place of the building and the building itself being a 'old' building. We did the Brewery Experience with Rhys.We had the best day.From the moment we arrived to the end we were treated so well.Thought we were going for a brewery tour never realised we would be making the beer.The food and samples of beer were fantastic.if we could give Rhys 10 stars we would.We had a bit of confusion over our voucher which Rhys and the manager sorted.Its not a complaint but an OBSERVATION that the time between breakfast and lunch was not long but as my husband said the Brewing of Beer waits for no man.We would highly recommend this day.A shout out to the waitress I think her name was Lisa a credit to your company.

I recently hosted a charity quiz night at Brewhouse and Kitchen, and it was an outstanding success! From helping us set up the quiz equipment to ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the night, their assistance was invaluable. The craft beers and delicious food were a hit with our attendees. The menu offered something for everyone, and the quality of both the drinks and dishes was top-notch. It added a special touch to the evening, making it enjoyable for all. A huge thank you to Shaun, Catia and the team who was instrumental in making the night run smoothly. Their dedication and attention to detail were evident, and they were incredibly supportive of our charity efforts. Overall, Brewhouse and Kitchen provided an exceptional venue for our charity quiz night. We raised a significant amount for our cause, and everyone had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to host a successful and memorable event!

Noticed the burger and beer offer (Mondays) when walking from the bus. Came back to the Brewhouse for lunch and were glad we did. Welcomed by Lisa, who was very friendly, cheerful and accommodating. Let us taste the beers to make sure we made the right choice. Had cheeseburgers and the vegan burger, with IPA, pilsner and they even had 2 gluten free options for beer. All In all good choice for a day out for family of 5.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, with a side helping of enthusiastic staff. Nas and Lisa went above and beyond to make our first visit memorable. Down to earth and funny. It felt like being around friends rather than strangers. Thanks guys!

Food was great and the service was initially great. Once we finished our meal, despite sitting with empty glasses at our table we were ignored for quite a while. No offer of further drinks like before and no offer if we’d like the bill until we finally managed to catch someone’s attention. I think it took about 30/40 minutes before anyone came to check on us after having our plates cleared. A shame because the service was great to start with.

Great service today from Lisa despite us arriving as a big party without having booked, as we should have. The 5 stars are for you! Lunch menu has a great choice of substantial sandwiches with or without fries. We will be back and promise to book ahead next time.

A group of 4 of us popped in for a mid day lunch from work and took a table upstairs. The place looks fabulous from the outside and once in only gets better. Love the decor and the brewing on the left hand side as you work through looks amazing We were greeted quickly at our table by Lisa who is truly the hostess with the mostest. She asked if we had been before we hadn’t and so told us about the brewing and the beers for the beer drinkers She was so well informed about the menu and absolutely nothing was too much trouble Good menu lots to choose from and we had a selection of dishes all very good. She told us how to find out about future events and had a genuine interest in us and making sure we had a good experience If only more bars and restaurants had people like Lisa

i was very happy with my dinner and service. My waitress, Ruby, was very friendly and helped me decide what to order. And i was not disappointed, the chicken schnitzel was well seasoned, and was delivered at the perfect temperature. I will be returning

Had a lovely time at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Chelmsford. From the moment we arrived until we left two hours later we were treated exceptionally well by our waitress Harlie. She explained everything that was involved with our experience, guiding us through the food and drinks menus, and attending regularly to ensure we were fine. Such an amazing experience and we will be back.
