Got to be the worst quality food I’ve ever been served ! Waited at the entrance to be served, waited 5 mins then walked to the rear of the restaurant to find a waitress to ask for a table! After being served waited 40 mins for half the starter platter to turn up of which the potato skins were pathetic and about the size of my thumb ! The waitress then explained that the kitchen had cocked up the tickets and the mains were ready too and did we want them. I agreed as they would be cold otherwise ! The waitress agreed the potato skins were poor, took them away and said she’d remove them from the bill. Then our mains turned up !! Mine was luke warm and the corn on the cob was still fridge cold ! My daughters was also luke warm and they’d gave her the wrong burger 🤦🏼‍♂️!! By now I’d had enough and was boiling up ! I was polite to the waitress and told her I wasn’t happy with the food quality, she totally agreed, apolagised and got her manager to remove them from our bill. I can honestly say it’s got to be the worst quality food and service from their kitchen and front of house staff I’ve ever had !! Never again !! It’s such a shame as it used to be a lovely place.

food was horrific. do not get the hotdog as it came out as hard as a rock. asked for regular full fat coke and got a zero for both of us at the restaurant. chips were over-salted and server was side-eyeing us and seemed unenthusiastic.

Booked for a Birthday celebration. Left at table for 25 mins by our server Eventually had to go to main desk to ask to be served Food selection poor. Out of stock on several kids menu choices which made it impossible for happy kids.... Ordered mains for adults plus a couple of starters As requested all food arrived st the same time with an unordered kids meal which was sent back and minus one side dish which has been forgotten and again asked to be cancelled. Asked.for glasses of water which never turned up. On receiving the bill the extra kids menu plus the cancelled.side were on the bill Attention to detail , service and combined with oh we don't have any straws for the kids drinks , both male and female toilets out of order made for a "wonderful"..... birthday. We're we there for a normal dinner out would have left.immediately. Do not and cannot recommend this establishment at all. Avoid it if you want an enjoyable meal

I visited Saturday with my daughter and grandkids . Very little staff all very young and lacked anyone that knew what they were doing . 1st the ladies toliets was out of order , the disabled one had no paper and had to tell a member of staff . 2nd ordered food and it all came at once starters with mains and no cutlery just dumped on our table and went . When I complained I was rudely told well you didn't ask , my reply was well starter's uselly come before mains as never had this problem in other branches. My daughters ribs was stone cold by the time we ate our mains and they had to redo it . 3rd my starter prawns was tateless and like warm . 4th kids meals had no veg sticks , when I asked they brought 2 bowls with 1 stick of carrot , apple and cucumber. I won't return , I know why with such a big restaurant on a busy Saturday it was empty . TGI you used to be known for the place to eat with kids , balloon hats , great atmosphere what has happened . We won't be back

Went to this particular TGI Fridays. I ordered the glazed burger, the missus ordered sesame strips. Now don't get me wrong I love a good bit of TGI food however on this occasion my burger was a good 10 minutes before the fiance's was even cooked and left under the hot light before hers was done. After being cooked hers was under it for 4 minutes. When it got to our table after 14 minutes of intensive TGI hot light cooking techniques the burger was a bit dry as you can imagine and not even hot warm is pushing it but still I'm not one for moaning and thats not what made me write the review. After we had finished are just about warm meal we sat there for for 25 mins for the plates to be cleaned then we got another drink we got that rapidly. We were not asked if we wanted deserts or if we wanted the bill. Roll on 45mins later we are still waiting for your bill we get up with out coats on and go to walk to the bar so we could find someone to pay when we where approached by a waiter asking if we wanted a table for 2 bare in mind that there's only 3 tables seated at this point. So we explained we wanted to bill and get that resolved but man 2 hours for cold ISH food and a a fight to pay is crazy And due to it taking so long we missed out on the evening activity we had planned afterwards

Requested no chilli, had a ridiclous amount of chilli on my food. Then a week later - tried to call the restaurant 6 times on 2 different phones - they hung up every time before even answering.

The food was very good and the staff were lovely, making a big effort for my grandson's birthday. Only downside was the ladies toilet was not working so I had to use the accessible toilet which was not very clean, the floor had not been cleaned for some time.

We were served by the woman with the dragon tattoo on her neck, I believe her name was Honey. She was so helpful and provided such a lovely service to my family and I. Food was nice and the atmosphere was relaxing. I loved the orange juice!

All i can say is wow. My favourite resturant. Also shoutout to the young lady with a long black plait. She must be new because i am a regular. She was great and really looked after us thank you once again from a loyal customer!!!

Friendly staff and the food was banger

Wow. This place is expensive! For lunch to spend £20 on a burger is too much for most people. £80 for a family of 4 for lunch and that’s without drinks or desserts….then the service was slow, got the orders slightly wrong, didn’t clear the plates for 15 mins after we had finished and only then when we told them to. No cutlery or serviettes. We aren’t going to a restaurant to train your staff. Not again.

Terrible serive. Only one working toilet and staff that talk among themselves rather than look out for paying customers. Disappointing.

Overpriced rubbish. Food is rotten. Shame, as the staff tried their best. The chef needs to learn basic cooking.

came here with my family (there’s 7 of us) and we were shocked with the prices! around £20 for each meal and the drinks were also overpriced. we ended up only having 7 soft drinks and it came to £25! shocking! there was also not a big variety of meals to chose from either.

Service non existent. Have to keep asking for a waiter to order. Very unfortunate as the food is good.

Visited today for Mothers Day and had a wonderful experience, great food, lovely cocktails and first class attentive staff, whole place had a great atmosphere and Kelly and Jasmine did themself proud, afraid I can’t agree with the previous reviews but that’s just my views, can only take people and places as I find them,

Food was amazing!! Great value for money as did the 2 course deal. Lovely refills and also 2-4-1 cocktails which is a bargain in its self!! Come to fridays!!

Went at dinner time on a Sunday, place was totally dead, nobody in sight, not even staff members! After a lengthy wait to be seated we were left for well over 20 minutes without even a waitress to let us know they will be taking your order. Like I said the place was totally empty , so after 20 mins we left. For the amount of money you pay to eat the service HAS to be better I'm afraid.

Visit on 21st Feb - awful experience, place was dead, drinks late, starters late and forgot one dish, £9 per starter that looked like a 5 year old had made, walked out after starter which left the place empty, the manager blamed the new waitress for the shocking service, bless her, she had been there 3 days, TGI brand is dead, TGI Chelmsford is known for poor service and experience, should of gone for a curry instead. We probably spent £50 before we walked out and told the manager, offered to pay for what we had but she said not too as was probably embarrassed , that night they must of made a total loss in profit margin.

What an awful experience, drinks late, food was late and when it arrived it was put together like a 5 year old had done it, we walked out half way through which meant the restaurant was empty as we were the only ones in there, don't bother The TGI brand had gone down hill compared to what it was like a few years ago The manager blamed the new waitress for lack of food, late food and late drinks.

Booked a table at 6 for a birthday celebration. Service was ok, food was not hot and we asked the server to inform the chef, we had no feedback from that. Most concerning was the cleanliness, tables not cleared and cleaned for ages, food and rubbish on the floor. Toilets out of order, just 1 toilet an available for the whole restaurant. Only positive was free dessert when downloading the App. Not a great experience all around.

One of the worst TGI Friday I've been in. Service poor food luke warm and they have the cheek to put the prices up. Dirty and tables not cleaned and no atmosphere will not return

Waited ages to be served and after eating had to eventually ask for the bill as no one interested in collecting away the plates after. Women's toilets out of order, mens had broken tap and toilet paper stuck to the ceiling of the cubicle. Won't be returning

Hello TGI Team as someone who is not a freaking spanner that takes time out of my day to leave bad reviews about a restaurant. But after seeing the hateful reviews left on this brilliant institution ( I’m talking to you Geoff Davies) I had to step in and share my opinions. Last week me and my support group full of deaf and autistic children took the day out to give them a break from the harsh reality of life and a break they got. The waitress Millie was so patient when it came to the children trying to order. They had ran out of colouring and went above and beyond to grab some paper for them. The food was fantastic big up Josh the Chef who came out to introduce himself to the children as they wanted to meet him. Millie made them all a balloon sword each and they left having had one of the best experiences of their lives. Thank you so much TGI you are all superheroes.

Hiya, my experience at TGI Fridays was a very pleasant one. I had brilliant service by a brilliant waitress (Melissa or Millie i think) was extremely helpful. If I had to recommend a restaurant, let me tell you it would be this one. My drinks arrived promptly and my food was steaming hot. Muy bien! I can now say I have lived the American experience. WHAT A DAY! The burgers were beautiful, the fries were delectable and the sweet potato fries were to die for! I must appreciate the service given by both Melissa and the manager shyanne for helping my great uncles daughters friends mum with her allergies. Brilliant day out, would fully recommend! 😃

I had a very pleasant experience at TGI Friday my server Lillie not too sure if that’s her name but the ginger one. Anyways my drinks arrived promptly and my food came within a matter of minutes. The manager Shyanne was very lovely when it came to my cousins uncles boyfriends nut allergy. There is no option to give 10 stars but if i could have i for sure would have done. Keep up the great work TGI team.

I was very disappointed with My dining experience today . Sticky table . Slow service . Burnt steak . (Ordered medium and rare ) food left on the table with no folk replaced from the starter . Ordered 2 items . Got told not in stock. On a Sunday afternoon. Not on . Not a happy customer today and normally love TGI Fridays. We didn't have time as we were in a rush to complain. And I'm not one to complain .

My wife and I attended twice in three months, both on a Saturday at roughly the same time (lunch time). First visit: despite waiting 30 minutes for a table for two, the downstairs area was at 30% capacity, and front of house were few and far between, and extremely unorganised. The Food was excellent though (the most important bit) and arrived in good time, overall it made the visit worth it. Second visit: we were sat very quickly, downstairs area was at about 15-20% capacity. Serve lack of staff again. Food took about 45-50 minutes to arrive, and it was luke warm at best (and it was just a burger and steak). Sad to say but we won’t be returning for some time. I hope they’ve sorted out their shortfalls in staffing by then. Not that I consider it an issue, but it’s worth noting that all staff we saw (the few!) were fairly young (aged 18-24 on average), sometimes this speaks volumes about a company.

Awful. Cocktails were 2 for 1, which didn’t help the driver and I think they forgot to put the alcohol in. Possibly watered down. Price too high for just a basic burger and chips. Waitress was not happy and service was rubbish. Will not be going back.

Had some smashing deals!! £10 meal deal and 2 courses from £18.99. Food was absolutely delicious, good vibes and music and amazing selection of deserts!! Would recommend to anyone thinking of going.

The service really let it down, to the point having been once I won't be back again. Having to get up and find a waiter because otherwise its impossible to order a drink, food comes out half cold and without cutlery, door constantly being left open, table reserved for 1930 but not seated until 2000... and the toilets were approaching grim. An almost £100 meal for two, coldish food, appalling service. Real shame.

Not typically one to leave such a bad review but this was a grim dinner out. We arrived around 5.30pm on a Wednesday and there were only 2 other paying tables. Promptly asked for drinks which was great but it took 20 minutes for 4 drinks in an empty restaurant to be served with one of them being the wrong drink. On to dinner and the ultimate ribs were awful, the vegetarian fajitas sent back as the tortillas snapped like crisps, and the kids dinners were coated in salt. I wish I'd seen the reviews before hand as this was an awful night out. Wish we'd taken the time to explore some of the other local restaurants

Very poor. I hadn't been to a TGIs for 6 years. And now i know why. Food is bland. £36 for a mixed grill - get something better in the weather spoons for 12 quid. Meat was hot, chips were cold. Service poor. The cocktails were great though. I wouldn't go again.

We went to TGI Fridays for a spot of lunch. We were greeted on arrival by a very polite member of staff. We were taken to a table and seated. Unfortunately the table seemed to be dirty, and the floor under and surrounding was also dirty. This could be due to a quick change around of customers and staff? Who knows, but it wasn’t too good. The foot itself wasn’t too bad, my partners pasta dish was pleasant enough and a good sized portion. Mine on the other hand wasn’t too good in portion size. When you pay over £17 for a vegan burger and chips, you would have higher expectations. The burger itself wasn’t too bad, but the amount of house chips was laughable. Pros, pleasant staff who are very friendly. Cons, cleanliness of table, surroundings. And over priced.

Save your money. Diabolical. This "restaurant" won't be in Chelmsford for much longer based on the reviews on here and our experience. Seated but no server for 20 minutes. Food took over an hour from ordering, I had the cajun chicken fajita which was sizzling as it came along (normal) but extremely bland to tast, kids burger cold and rare in the middle. We had to ask for cutlery - even after the food was served (observant eh?!) We won't be back, many others won't be back and sadly it will end up as a parade of coffee / vape / betting / charity shops in the near future. Competent management and staff could turn this into something special but it's not going to be any of the current mob.

Seated across two tables next to each other which was nice by the younger girl at front of house, had to wait a bit but perfect 👍🏻 Never been to this branch before Have been Basildon/Thurrock/Stratford/Braintree/Manchester/Liverpool/Newcastle many times The atmosphere at Chelmsford just didn’t feel like a TGI’s from the get go tbh The server was quite a nice young guy But the general service an waiting time was poor We arrived around 7pm the last meal arrived gone 9pm :-( The toilets are a terrible state of affairs and someone from a higher up should attend this building as the toilets alone are embarrassing Each table had napkins at each seating point. The knifes and forks were just in a pile to one end :-/ Starters were taken away With the cutlery, I went to the bar to ask for some cutlery or where it is so I can get it myself and was laughed at Maybe close for a week restructure the workings of this place and organise some contractors to repair * Toilets MALE AND FEMALE * POS system does work so having to do it manually * Air Conditioning system - as currently no heating Can’t fault the manager really that lot isn’t his/her fault. I’ve worked in the service industry for 20 years as manger/director, you can only do so much with materials provided

Terrible staff, long wait, food was sat there for half hour under a heated lamp before we were served it. Expensive and not worth the price. Overall a very bad experience and I will not be returning.

The music too loud for a lunchtime. Place was freezing cold. Bar staff close to non existent. The chicken fingers we had were salty. The bbq sauce was watery. Apparently no refills for regular coke because of Sugar Tax. Outrageous! Nearly £ 4 for a coke from the Pump. £ 6 for one small bottle of Heineken. The prices for the quality don’t meet and no wonder the place was nearly empty. A burger is nearly £ 20. Price has doubled in the last few years. I’ve been going to TGI Fridays for 25 years and won’t be going back for a while.

Visited today a table for 8 people. Food was excellent very tasty. Unfortunately let down by poor service waiters and waitresses struggling to cover the tables. Despite this the Manager was still letting walk ins. When requesting the bill after 3 times in 20mins we were told they had staff issues. If this is the case look after customers who had already sat down rather than bring in more. Kitchen staff did an excellent job.

We visited this place as a party of 5. Staff are extremely lazy and walk past, even when it’s blatantly obvious that you require service. The drinks took for ever to arrive and were not made correctly. The table was not clean and we had dirty napkins and cutlery under the table, on the floor. There was one lightbulb in our lamp, which was barely clinging to life. When the food finally arrived, it was dry and stone cold. I will avoid this place at all costs from now on. Worst TGI EVER!!!!!

Haven't been in years and safe to say I won't be returning any time soon. Got shoved in the corner and forgotten about, I saw our food waiting ready to be served for 20 minutes before it came to us. The kids pasta was dry with basically no sauce on there whatsoever!! The burger was dry and bland as well me and my family were very disappointed to say the least. There was nothing given to the kids to keep them entertained either.

Would not recommend I'm afraid. Food is basic and overpriced I had a basic burger and chips and cocktails which were 2 for 1 cost £33.50 . Cocktails were more like soft drinks and full of Ice. Service wasn't great either. Went on the 19th...

We came for bottomless brunch for our Christmas party, excellent from start to finish, we were so looked after the fabulous cocktails were flowing and the food was so good I had all plant based and I couldnt get enough so tastey. Well done Jazmin...

Absolutely awful experience. There were 4 of us for my friend's birthday. We were heavily overcharged for drinks as they did not honour the cocktails and mocktails deal my friends and I were ordering from. Every plate of food came out incorrect and eventually when it was sorted out the food was dry and burnt. The manager who was eventually called was lovely and did her best to sort the fiasco out (although shebinsisted on keeping our receipts) but the waitress serving our table was rude, gave us incorrect information, didn't get our menu orders right and really gave no help at all to get things corrected. I wouldn't return here, which is a shame, as I'd been really looking forward to going there, as had the birthday girl. Just over £65 for some burnt ribs, sweet potato fries, a raspberry mocktail, and subpar service. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

Poor quality and lack of quantity. The ultimate ribs are a small child size portion. I was informed by a staff member that this is due to change in supplier however the price does not reflect the difference in size or quantity. Very disappointed

Not been to TGI's for years but was very impressed with the food and the service also 20% off with the blue light card discount.. the member of staff that looked after us was very attentive, professional and friendly and made our evening very pleasant.

Definitely won’t be coming back here again. Me and 5 other friends booked here for a bottomless brunch. All was okay at first, everything seemed quite nice and an alright atmosphere. However looking at the menu, was shocked at the bounce from price of £29.95 which included Prosecco and couple other bits and then if you want the cocktails (all of about 4 choices) it’s £10 extra, resulting in it being about £40 now. Wasn’t very impressed by the selection, and when asking the servers about the different drinks, all were a bit clueless as to what was in them and they weren’t sure as to what was a cocktail or a mocktail. Anyways, we’d order our first drinks and baring in mind this is a bottomless brunch, you’d think they’d be efficient on coming back over so that we could order a few drinks. This wasn’t the case, our server was rarely around, we might have ordered about 4-5 drinks each which, within two hours, I personally would expect a couple or few more. We’d started having our drinks and as the night went on, we’d ended up ordering only one drink as it was the only mildly good one on the very small selection on the menu, and our drinks started to change each time we’d been brought them. They tasted like syrup and nothing more, could barely taste any alcohol at all and we had asked and they said there was so we carried on. We all started to feel sick with how syrupy they were, additionally, there was about 2-3 times when they kept forgetting or putting down the wrong drinks for us and us being left without one drink or a drink we’d never ordered and when we said this, nothing was done to change it, they either ignored us or just made us take it. Even though, I work in customer service and know it doesn’t take long to remake a drink and surely shouldn’t be a problem for the customers. Another frustrating experience is the fact that there was only 2 toilets open in the restaurant, and one of them didn’t even have toilet paper. On a busy night like a Saturday, you’d think they would try and fix this problem knowing it would be quite busy. Each time I went in people were either still waiting or groups of people waiting to use the toilet which is ridiculous, another customer even come up to me and my friend and said that she’d tried to tell a staff member about the toilets but that the staff member just said that they weren’t going to do anything about it. Shocking attitude if you ask me, I found that some servers in this place have awful attitude as they didn’t seem to care about a lot of the problems going on. Overall I will not be coming here again, I think that it needs some upgrade in staff or some sort of help in other areas. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone else. Don’t waste your time or money, I didn’t think that those two hours were worth £40. Although I paid anyways because we all had to, I’ve been to other places that are seen as more expensive that offer a cheaper and better option, with ACTUAL meals to go with your drinks. Not some fries and sides which is my personal opinion whether it’s your fancy or not, you should get proper food.

Arrived at 12:15 today, restaurant mostly empty, shown to a table and given a menu waited around 25 minutes for a member of staff to approach and take our order, there were only two of us and we knew what we wanted so not difficult....

Very slow service, the waiter didn’t take our order until 30 mins after we sat down. Food was great but service was terrible.

Ordered the Ultimate ribs which I have to say were tiny so I can’t imagine how small the baby ones are. Staff didn’t know what size they should of been either. I did visit here when it first opened and I have to say it has not improved. Employ some more staff TGI!!!

The atmosphere was amazing! Very busy, but staff seemed to be having a great time and although took a little longer, the food quality was spot on! Thanks for an awesome night!

Was taken here for a surprise birthday dinner with Family as I love TGI's! Sadly, this was far from a standard TGI's. The service was awful, we were sat in view of the food collection counter, that was backed up with meals whilst staff appeared...

Great food and atmosphere, handcrafted cocktails and food presented nicely. Good mix of music for all ages and tastes.

Mia was a lovely waitress, so welcoming and has amazing food knowledge . I would recommend coming here again. She gave my son a birthday hat and sang the birthday song for him which he really enjoyed.

Luke was a brilliant bartender! Me and my partner sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting and watching him make drinks! Very happy with the service 10/10 :)))
