Cute French bistro, efficient and friendly staff and consistently great food. We visit every time we find ourselves in Brixham.

We just returned from two wonderful nights staying at The Hayden. What an awesome place to stay and eat!! We arrived very late (2:15am) due to a flight delay but no issue - one of the staff stayed to let us in and was in contact with us the whole time. The rooms are fantastic - very clean and modern. The location is fantastic, in a neat neighbourhood a short walk from Hyde Park. We ate dinner at the pub on our last night. The Goan Curry and Bangers and Mash were just amazing. Fantastic food, great service and a great vibe. Thanks so much to the staff at the Hayden for taking great care of us and making our stay special!

Absolutely fantastic food . All the food was cooked with care , it really was delicious. I haven’t had food that authentic since visiting India. Staff were very professional and friendly. Would throughly recommend. We will be returning very soon.

If you like Mexican and Tex Mex food this place is a must. Beautifully spiced, fresh ingredients and some innovative twists. You won't be disappointed.

Had the 8oz home made burger with Bavon, cheese, onion rings and chips. £14.50 Wow was it good- yes it was superb! Dont think I'm eating again today! Had previously visited on June and wasnt disappointed on either visit. Well worth a visit. Good menu choice and Volkers humour is priceless.

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

Four of us came here in early November to celebrate my birthday. From the booking through to actual service it was wonderful. You can bring your own wine and pay corkage which we did but ended up just having some of the excellent organic wine from the wine list. There was lovely bread and olive oil on the table which disappeared quickly. I had cured trout for starter, hake for main and a posh Eton mess (my best description anyway). All the food was fresh local produce, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The most surprising and very pleasing thing was the bill. At around £55 per head including wine and service it was extremely good value for money in this day and age. I would most definitely look to book again when we come to Cornwall next.

Lunch today at Hilltop was an outstanding experience - made even more pleasurable by the irrepressible manager Daren. A traditional English Sunday lunch served in comfortable, spacious - in places quirky - interconnecting dining rooms with attentive and personable staff keeping the buzzing guests fed and watered (or wined). My partner and I stopped off at this cafe for lunch when arriving in Southport. On the car journey there, I looked at places for lunch and Hideaway came up in the recommendations. We both ordered a panini - the mozarella, sweet chill and chicken for me and a tuna mayo one for my partner. The paninis were a generous size and came with salad on the side. We both ordered a drink with this - soft drink and an americano. The total came to just over £20 which we didn’t think was too bad considering the size and quality of the food. I would certainly recommend this place for a lunch stop but also if you’re looking for something more fulfilling as the menu offers a rang of larger meals including a breakfast menu.
