Fabulous ambience and food to die for .Great welcome and lovely food and genuine china for a fabulous proper cup of tea.We have tried this fine place twice and have not been disappointed .We are so pleased that we have found our go to place in Newton Abbot. The homity pie was tasty and hot ,all came with a tasty coleslaw beautifully presented..

Absolutely superb. This is the first time if visiting and was not disappointed. The cake and coffee is the best in Newton Abbot. The atmosphere is amazing, very relaxed and the staff and owners are very friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely return in the very near future. Very impressed.

Lovely cafe to enjoy lunch or coffee with friends - cake and coffee both delicious. It was recommended by a friend. The hardest part was choosing what to have because it all looked so nice! Will definitely be back.

The tea room is very pretty and the service is great, and very friendly. There was 10 of us. We arrived at 10.15 and left 1.45 After a couple of tea and coffee's, tea cakes and then we had lunch. We were not rushed. Highly recommend 5*****

I found out about this tearoom from a Coeliac Facebook group and we dropped in on a Friday lunchtime for a light lunch....but ended up having an afternoon tea, because why not!? We had to wait a bit because they were expecting their gluten free bakery delivery any minute (Jacksons, Torquay ;) ) but it was worth it, especially as the GF bread was so fresh. Because they don't do gluten free scones, they let me choose a muffin and then they generously also gave me an extra piece of cake and some clotted cream! So very kind and friendly. And the price of an afternoon tea was incredibly reasonable too. Would definitely visit again when I'm in that area (sadly I live in the Midlands!)

Visited for an afternoon tea with my family as a birthday treat, and was delighted with the experience. Lovely fresh food, even for me as a Coeliac. Service was exemplary and so friendly. We all enjoyed it, and would thoroughly recommend.

Found this on tripadvisor and glad we visited. Lovely cream tea, they whipped up a fresh batch of scones as they had sold out but that meant we were treated to delicious warm scones. My daughter had a toasty which was good and my son said the milkshake was really tasty. Great find. Friendly and welcoming staff.

We visited the Indulgence Tea Rooms on a Saturday around 11.30. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent COVID precautions. Enjoyed cream tea from Royal Albert bone china. Quite a treat. Thank you. 3 minute drive / 10 minute walk from the station.

Popped in here for a quick bite for lunch as been meaning to sample their cakes for a long time now.The tea room is very quaint and traditionally decorated, cake served on China plates, and traditional tea sets. Decided on a caramel milkshake, pot of tea and a gluten free raspberry and coconut cake. All the cakes looked amazing so was a tough decision but as this was a little different I thought I would pick that. I'm glad I did as the cake was delicious and light and staff were friendly.A family opposite me were enjoying cream tea which looked amazing too.Will definately pop back for a cream tea for high tea so I can sample more of their delicious looking cakes.

My sister baby shower has been held at Indulgence and all I can say about the place is amazing! Staff very helpful and really friendly, food & cakes absolutely delicious! I will definitely recommend to everyone to go there! Such a beautiful place and really relaxing atmosphere.

Indulgence is a lovely setting, perfect for a baby shower. The decor and vintage feel is spot in. The team are fab and the cakes are beautiful. £12pp for an afternoon tea is great value with no compromise on the quality. I shall be returning

We were on a weekend family visit and got together here for afternoon tea. It was fantastic! Hot chocolate and coffee hot and fresh and. Victoria Sponge so fresh it was gorgeous. The surroundings are lovely and the Staff Charming and efficient. Wish we lived back here but will certainly come again on visits.

We visited today and had an amazing high tea, the staff were all very pleasant and extremely accommodating and the afternoon tea was amazing and great value. They kindly let us spilt a high tea for our 2 children and swopped the tea for a milkshake. I would recommend booking and definitely visit if you are in devon. Thankyou so much, we will be back

We’d been away for quite a while and on our return, I sadly thought my favourite “coffee, cake and much more” Indulgence Cafe had gone. That was until a friend told me they’d just moved to a bigger space next door. I was so very pleased, we both were. So earlier this week we went and found them again, hurrah. We chose to go for lunch and I had a really tasty cheese, ham and tomato toasted sandwich, which came with side salad and cold slaw. My husband chose the Mediterranean quiche that also came with side salad and slaw. We chose tea to accompany lunch and followed it with a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake to share, which is absolutely the best I’ve had in ages. The decor thankfully remains as delightful as it ever was, if not even better and the welcome gives a warm glow. The food is delicious, the patron and staff are lovely and the place itself is delightful. Next time it’ll be for afternoon tea. I can’t wait!

How have I not known about this place before?! I was taken here for lunch by a friend and was very impressed. There is a lovely warm and relaxed atmosphere and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We both chose the Homity pie and salad and enjoyed it so much. Our only disappointment was that we were both too full to try the delicious looking cakes! It's nice to be able to support a small local business, will definately be returning and telling everyone go there.

The staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I don't usually leave reviews but felt compelled to just on the basis of that delicious cake..I want the recipe!

Found this cafe on google as we needed somewhere local to take my mum who has Alzheimer’s. This cafe was perfect light airy and lovely classical music in the background. The food was superb the best cream tea I’ve had in Devon and I’ve tried a few ! The scones we like little warm clouds. The Victoria sponge was the best my husband has tasted and he is very fussy. Lovely friendly staff and cute pug doggy. We are rearranging our plans for the remainder of our stay so we can visit again. Would definitely recommend

This is such a lovely place, from the lovely décor to the warm greeting as you enter. I have been here on numerous occasions, the food is superb, the toasted sandwich with lovely fresh salad. What makes this extra special is the lovely selection of salad dressings. The coffee, homemade cakes and shortbread biscuits what more can you want. Warning once you venture in I guarantee you will become a regular.

The owner and staff are extremely friendly. My mum and dad visit on a regular basis and are treated like friends. The food is incredible, especially the cream tea (it’s to die for). The little doggie by the bathroom is the icing on the cake! It’s such a homely environment and I always leave with a smile on my face. Highly recommend!!

Lovely selection of cakes!! Drinks (hot chocolate and mocha) were okay- appreciated they were actually hot as so many places produce them lukewarm!! We also had a really nice welcome; friendly and warm. We will certainly return and I’d recommend it to others.

First time I've visited Indulgence today and it was utterly fantastic, will definitely return. The welcome was warm, the staff both lovely, very attentive without being intrusive. The interior is beautifully done, it's inviting and cosy. I had the high tea (shared with a friend) and we both loved every single thing we had. The quality of the sandwich, cake and scone were all top notch, provision of the cream and jam very generous (bonus marks ++ , I don't like stingy pots of cream!!). The cake choice was great, we had half slices of lemon drizzle and Victoria sandwich as we couldn't decide between the two. It was beautifully served on a two tiered cake stand and the teacups/plates all matched and were prettily ornate and a nice big teapot.

Imagine sitting around your kitchen table, coffee on the go and the very best coffee and walnut cake possible, that's Indulgence! Add an attentive Ross and team, take a deep breath and relax! Don't take my word for it, try it out, you won't be disappointed.

We went here for a family get together between christmas and new year, and the sandwiches, cakes and drinks are absolutely delicious and the owner who works in there as well bent over backwards to do his best. I’d recommend it to everyone and anyone.

Indulgence offers the best home-made cakes and the most delicious dark hot chocolate I have ever had. We have never failed to enjoy snacks, drinks or lunch here. The service is excellent and the ambience really welcoming and relaxing. A real treat and ideal place to meet for a chat.

I found Indulgence a few years back, and to my mind this is by far the best eatery anywhere in South Devon, lovely food, their soup has to be tasted to believe how good, and the cakes OMG but the crowning glory is ROSS he is the perfect host, attentive, funny and the darling of the ladies. it is a must for any trip.

We rarely like cakes as much as our own but they are splendid at Indulgence. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service, nice coffee in pretty china. Loved it.

We celebrated my mother in law’s birthday at Indulgence and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Nothing too much trouble and a lovely bunch of flowers provided as a gift. Superb scones and cakes with a good choice of fresh gluten free (certainly not the usual brownie or polenta offering) cakes. Served on quality bone china with friendliness and skill. A must for tea and cake lovers.

This delightful tearoom really deserves the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence it has been awarded. You are assured of a warm welcome from owner Ross Booth and his adorable dog "George". The organic coffee and home-made cakes, which include gluten-free, are outstanding.

We booked tea and cake for our newly married daughter and husband and their 2 little boys. There were some lovely personal touches to the meal, and it reminded the newlyweds of their favourite cafe back home. Ross made a delicious lemon drizzle cake which was enjoyed by all.

Visited this lovey cafe for a spot of lunch with some friends as they meet every week I was dying to try it here as they enjoy it so much so this time I finally got to come along and I wasn't disappointed at all...a lovely lunch and a delicious milkshake and a very friendly welcome to...really wanted to try the lemon drizzle cake but couldn't squeeze it in...but next time I definitely will...looked amazing and cannot wait for my next visit well done!!

I've been here on four occasions now, alone, with one other friend and with two others and each time Ive had something different and each time it more than meets my expectations. The proprietor Ross is a great guy and so is the food, its well prepared well presented and I think good value for money. The only down side here is the toilet which has a bit of a damp problem but thats more down to the landlord than the proprietor and I'm sure hes on the case. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this establishment, Long may we Indulge!!!

Been meaning to come here for ages. Really lovely decorated small local cafe. Selling a really excellent range of cakes and light bites as well as the usual coffees and teas. They also have for you to buy local produce such as jams and chutneys. Really lovely friendly staff make a lovely atmosphere.

I am glad I found this great cafe. I am fussy about my coffee and this place has great coffee and comfort to ' chill out'. You have the friendly service and great food plus a welcome for the family dog. I only wish my dog was smaller so we could have brunch together.

I visited several times whilst staying with friends locally and every time I got a warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I am wheat and dairy intolerant and the menu is very accommodating with several gluten free options.

Although we always rave about Indulgence it keeps up its standards and is always a joy to go there. Today the owner on finding my wife was suffering from a cold gave a free specialist tea bag for her to try as she likes ginger. How many other establishments really bother this much about their clientel?

This has got to be the best tea room in Newton Abbot by far.The owner is friendly and courteous and his establishment is spotlessly clean with the most amazing bone china (as opposed to horrible thick mugs!)The service is impeccable and the cakes are simply to die for! Definitely a must if you are in the area and want to experience first class service.I was visiting from Guernsey and ventured in not knowing what to expect as most of the cafes are rather dingy and unclean - what a find ! I will certainly be paying another visit when next over in Devon.Well done and keep up the excellent work!

As usual the food, beverages were lovely, the service excellent but then they went further. An elderly lady was asking the staff if they could get her a taxi, the owner immediatley phoned the company she wanted and arrange for the cab to pick her up five minutes late. When the taxi arrived the owner took the ladies are and took her to it.Above and beyond, I think so.

A lovely looking shabby chic feel cafe which at first makes you feel welcoming but on a couple visits they have been having rude conversation in front of myself and my young daughter which is very unprofessional and due to this conversation needed to wait a long time for our drinks.

Such a shame as seemed like a cute little cafe. Staff rude, was actually called crazy to another friend cos I rang twice to get hold of a copy of the menu. Was told not to talk anymore as we HAD to order, pepper mill broke on use made to feel like it was our fault. They had another large party coming so maybe they over stretched themselves. Food average but pricing low, only bonus. Would not recommend or come again.

Visited the Indulgence Cafe while on a morning out when staying in Torquay. We stumbled on it quite by accident as it's towards the edge of the town centre but really glad we did.First inpmressions were very good, quirky, light and airy and staffed by really polite and helpful people.We ordered coffees and large currant tea cakes and weren't disappointed, the coffee was tasty and the tea cakes delicious. There were several other people eating at the same time and it was apparent Indulgence is popular with the locals which is always a good sign.We had a chat with the owner and he shared a bit of local knowledge with us about other places to visit which was very kind of him.All in all we enjoyed the "indulgent" experience very much and can highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for somewhere different from the normal high street offerings.

Went there for morning coffee today, that had fabulous display of home made cakes etc and they are all Gluten free and i had a most enjoyable chocolate cake, The area room us so cottage like with their home made food and lots of beautiful things for sale. It's on level and Ladies toilet so spotless and on the level.There is a shop next door connected to them and you can buy the beautiful ornaments there which are in theTea room, I certainly would recommend anyone visit thus out of this world cafe. So cute and dainty.

Today I came here and had a super amazing gluten-free "Homity pie" and chocolate cake. Neither of them seemed anything like the usual gritty dry gluten free options I have to live with elsewhere, both were absolutely fabulous! They were in the league of the best non-gluten cakes and pies I enjoyed before I developed a sensitivity to it. My dog was also very welcome here, as we were, and there was a lovely atmosphere of happy customers and happy staff. I love this place and will be coming back as soon as possible! Wonderful :-)

What an amazing local teahouse. Excellent range of tea, coffee and cold refreshments. As well as offering a breadth of sandwiches and wraps, they also offer quiche and excellent homemade soup. The cakes are made fresh on site and they even do gluten free alternatives. Nice atmosphere and décor.

This is a small but delightful tea room with excellent menu. Food and service excellent, really good value for money.

What a lovely little tea room that takes you back to times gone by. Home made cakes and smells of coffee are enough to entice you back for another visit. The high teas looked amazing. Bunting, dressed mice, an array of clocks all add to this gem of a place. Be prepared to wait as its all freshly made and worth the wait. Gluten free cakes too.

Lovely hand made cakes etc and nice little tea shop, more chabby chic then rural Devonian. Some items a little pricey but worth a visit
