Had a lovely time here. The food was really fresh and tasty. Service was attentive but subtle and we had a great night. Would recommend

The bar staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The menu is well balanced with interest for all tastes and needs. Our waitress, Anne Marie helped us choose with clear experience and knowledge of what the kitchen has to offer.

Our second time here. Menu has changed to Ala Carte for Sunday lunch and it was great for a group of six to have such an interesting choice of dishes for each course. Great cocktails and wines with the meal. Michelin star food but at really great prices. Would recommend going for a special occasion, it’s totallly worth it.

No one does an egg, hash brown and cheese sandwich better than Bar Bruno

Great and I mean, yummy food, very friendly service and accommodating as they didn't really have a table for us but fitted us in.

First time coming for food. I've been in the pub garden loads of time, but back to the food, I had Korean glazed chicken thigh it was delicious it came with chips, seaweed salad, and picked cucumber. We were in a party of 7 and all the food looked really good. Would heartily recommend this place for both food and drink.

Good place to go for Italian. Staff are aleays friendly and food always nice. Highly recommend! Parking is not great with limited spaces on left side and would be a pain to reverse out

I only moved to the area last year and I was recommended to to this lovely pub and its staff who served me with the best modules mariniere I have had outside France. So, imagine my disappointment when Spring arrived and modules disappeared from the summer menu may- although their pub staple of ham, egg and chips was high class. Last week I met with friends to try the 2024 winter menu. The ham, egg and chips were as good as ever and the cider battered haddock was enjoyed but the modules topped them both. Sweet shallots, garlic and white wine bathed the plump mussels set,off by a topping of parsley. The chef managed to get a wonderful depth of sweet flavour to the dish which came in both starter and main dish sizes.. The service was as friendly as ever and the beer is well kept. Thank you.

Fantastic Pub, great atmosphere, lovely staff and spectacularly clean. I always judge an establisment by the cleanliness of its toilets and they were absolutely spotless. Great selection of ales, lagers and gins. A lot of local options available which is nice. Very dog friendly. Will definitely be back.

We visited the neighbourhood cafe. Superb service and very very welcoming. If you're visiting Durham this is where you want to go for a brew

We bought tickets to the fireworks night and had a fantastic evening , the event was really well organised with plenty of parking and lots going on. The cafe looked great with plenty of space to eat, there’s some really cool seating pods looked like they would seat 4 maybe 6 and they were dotted around. I could see some farm animals they looked great, well worth a visit.

We used to come here years ago, and even ordered delivery during lockdown, and loved it. Went last night and honestly feel robbed of £80. Lasagne, carbonara and pizza - all very bland, far from authentic Italian tasting (and my other half is Italian). The carbonara may as well have been a dish of heated cream, it tasted like nothing but cream! Really, really disappointed. Will not be returning and it was so bad that I will be telling my friends to warn them away from wasting their money!

Don't go for Thia generally, been to a few up market places which never agreed with me. My partner has been here a few times, so I relented. Service was excellent, such a busy bustling place, had two unknown mains to cover my losses and was advised one of my choices was probably not what I would be expecting, so took the advice. Fantastic! Booking advisable, although two not us on Saturday night got lucky at 8.30pm.
