Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities here. The public toilets are locked at this time of year and the car park toilets were flooded and unusable. We went in to order as the selection seemed OK but did not stay as we had to go to the only open pub to use their toilets and stayed in there! Please sort your toilet situation out Polruan.

This cafe is now called Jam First, we had the Jam First box, which is scones, clotted cream and Strawberry Jam in a take away box. Quality of the contents was good, the jam was Tiptree and the scones were light. What was a slight surprise was the inclusion of tea bags but no offer of a take away tea, was told the tea bags were "complimentary".

After ordering a cake and a gluten free brownie, the server tried to put them in the same bag. I quickly stopped her and asked for a separate bag. Obviously annoyed by this, she put the brownie down on a board covered in crumbs. When she attempted to put that one in a bag for me, I pointed out that it was now no longer gluten free. Obviously annoyed again, she put that one back kn the pile and gave me a different one, and didn't change the tongs. I came out feeling like I was being awkward, which is not very nice.

Just had a weeks holiday in Polruan and visited crumpets cafe most days to get a takeaway Cornish cream tea pack which was very good. I have a blood cancer which makes me breathless very quickly and had to sit down on a chair outside the cafe today - but it was very quiet and nobody was at the cafe. Within a few minutes a lady came out and said “ you cannot sit there - it’s for customers only “. I just cannot believe they took approximately £45.00 throughout the week and the first time I did not buy anything and I wanted a quick rest they ordered me off a seat that nobody required. Shame on you. !!!!

On one of our signature wanders around picturesque Cornish towns, we stumbled, not literally, across this little beauty. The café itself is wee and cute and at the time we visited, had closed its seating area but was operating a take-away service, which included some fine paninis which we got our teeth into with amusing quantities of gusto. It is remarkably inexpensive compared to the tourist hotspots of Fowey, and I was very impressed with not just the service but the flavour. If you are looking to support a genuine local business and are looking for some honest grub and not some exorbitantly-priced, pretentious mush for your Instagram feed, this is the place to go.

Lovely little cafe who were only too pleased to provide us with a yummy brunch. My husband had the sausage, bacon and egg roll which was packed with lovely tasty produce and not being able to have a roll, the nice lady gave me the same with gluten free toast. Small little cafe selling pastries to go. Lovely lady selling a variety of home made cakes and pastries. I was there towards the end of the summer season. This place relies on the lack of competition for its custom. I ordered smoked salmon & scrambled egg at £7.50. The scrambled egg was cooked in the microwave so was pretty foul. I would recommend taking the ferry (£2.30/adult) across to Fowey and going to any other cafe - there are much better and cheaper options. Don’t waste your money here.

There's no doubting other reviewers when they say that Crumpets is a friendly cafe, it is. A bit of a squeeze when its busy, clean and lovely staff. A mug of tea is a very fairly priced but unfortunately breakfasts are child sized and rolls are just that, small white finger rolls that are poorly filled not a lovely baguette. We were warned by a local that portion sizes have been meager since a nice member of staff left and we should of taken heed of the advice. Anyhow the tea was nice and we would always go back for hot drinks but not breakfast unfortunately as they are very expensive for what yhey are, especially when one vonsiders that our benchmark Wetherspoons breakfast is near half the price for twice as much utilising equally good ingredients.Crumpets can be found on the right hand corner on the next street up from the harbourside.

We stopped off for a light lunch after a walk up to the blockhouse and coastal path viewpoint.Staff are cheerful and helpful with sandwiches made to order based on local fresh ingredients. We chose a selection of menu and specials and thoroughly enjoyed them although the just in time / fresh supply meant ingredients , choice of breads etc were all limited at 130 pm on a Saturday requiring a few compromises on bread or ingredients. Nevertheless the result was worth it and very good value.

Popped in here after trip on ferry from fowey. A very simple place selling mainly cake and sandwiches although we ordered brown bread & they gave us white. It's ok, a bit tiny with tables squeezed in so best to go when not busy. I noticed when a family asked if there were any shops open to buy food, instead of saying yes they told them no but their bakery would be open in the morning. I felt it only right to explain that if they travel out they can buy food for the week at a supermarket.

The food’s OK, and not overpriced. What lets the place down is the noisy staff member ( owner?). I know it’s a greasy spoon, but still, one should be able to eat and hear oneself think in relative peace. I sit outside if possible.
