The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving African food

Food was fine if not full of gristle. Went with a friend who is a regular but I’d never been before. Had a lunch deal with some meat with a flavoursome rice. Needed lots of extra sauce to be able to get through the huge quantity of rice and there wasn’t much meat (but I was having a deal so that may explain it). One mouthful was pure fatty gristle which wasn’t so good. Over all, the flavour was nice - not sure I’d go there off my own steam as the venue lacks atmosphere - but to meet friends it’s OK.

We visited the place with family and friends for a meal out. There is building work is ongoing in the surroundings. The location is not the best because it is within the Deptford market area but easily accessible by buses and the Deptford train station is in front of the restaurant. Service was quick and food was really nice – we ordered varieties of Nigerian food. Food price was on average between £5 - £15 per meal. Drinks are mid-range in price. Staff are professionally nice, polite and friendly. I will definitely visit again.

I went to the restaurant but they seem to have closed down for a while, this was a wasted time driving and sorting out parking and just to know that the restaurant is no longer active is so bad.

MashaAllah really nice food, the lamb shanks was so tender and the portions sizes are big very welcoming and authentic Middle Eastern food.

Had to come on here to write about how good the customer service was tonight when i picked up my Nandos collection, but especially Annie. She went over and above to make sure i had everything i needed and made it clear that what i asked for was no trouble at all. Hopefully next time I’m there she’ll serve me again:)

Despite the reviews, I went hopeful as the images of the food looked very appealing. 84 West is in the wrong location!! It ought to be situated in KNIGHTSBRIDGE due to the outlandish prices. The music is too loud to have a conversation If you want to sit upstairs it’s a minimum £1000 spend, (of course it was largely EMPTY!! When the food arrived, nicely presented, it tasted DISGUSTING and I picked at it before giving up… my friends also agreed that the taste was inedible…. 🤢 Won’t be long before this closes as I’m sure food inspectors will be paying this establishment a visit. I managed to check the food rating of this place , it was no surprise that it was rated 0- requiring URGENT ATTENTION‼️‼️ Check for yourself……

Normally go to 805 on Old Kent Road which is really great food, good service and reasonable value. We were close to 805 Hyde Park so dropped in. The service was very good with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately only maybe a quarter of the food menu was available. Customers actually walked in, were told various dishes weren’t available so the customers walked out. We ordered Beef Suya, Jollof Rice with chicken, Egusi with fried fish, 2 cokes and a Gulder beer and it came to £116.44. The food was very nice but over priced compared to the same food at Old Kent Road. Egusi with Fried Fish £30, Old Kent Road £22. Beef Suya £24, OKR £17. Jollof Rice with Chicken £27, OKR £18. Gulder beer £11.50, OKR £6.50 Coke £5.50, OKR So the cost of a meal with a limited choice is not really worth it even though the restaurant is in a central location. I’ll be heading back to Old Kent Road for my Nigerian food fix in future.

Best chops around great sauce and reasonably priced. You get 4 pieces and all are of a decent size. Best to go for a meal. All tastes fresh. Highly recommend

The place is far too small, they don't have a cloakroom so you don't have no where to put your coat, and its baking in there. Men in there are too hungry..Periodttttt!

Firstly we waited for the menu for over 30 minutes till we go to the counter to asked for menu. After ordering we asked for our drinks while we wait for food. It took another 30 minutes for them to give us 2 orange juices. We waited for more than an hour we were fed up. The food came no seasoning at all. Sadza was uncooked aka mbodza could not even it. Horrible and dirty I could taste the soap in the orange juice and the GANGO looked and tasted like last week's. The only thing g tasty was the sausage as they can't cut corners with it and it doesn't need anything added. This was my first time and I have to admit my last. I was excited but left very disappointed. Staff were nice though. WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Good food but Poor service. Order delayed more than half an hour after ordering my food to get table service. I was disappointed with Shaky very small piece £2!

The kitchen does not have the food on the menu. I came there weeks ago and was served with stale grilled fish and fried yam covered with sauce. Suffered from stomach upset afterwards. Disappointed 🙁
