Great benas porridge and fried rice, big plate, bitterleaf soup was very sweet and a good size. Definitely will be going again. Really enjoyed a classic dish in a nice place

This restaurant is great for individual or groups, the food is very tasty Nigerian cuisine, with varieties of dishes to chose from. The customer service was great. Will definitely visit whenever I visit Coventry again.

You need to employ more people! This delay is out of hands and the tables are always dirty! They don’t have good customer service! Food is 6/10… Customer service zero!

Ordered on phone and said 30 mins. Got there to be told (after a 15 min wait) half of my order was not available, changed the order and waited 20 mins again. Top it off the food was cold when received.

This is an overview of 2 month's worth of visits. Food 5* Jellof Rice Okay, so I very rarely order and eat jellof rice because from my experience it's notoriously rare to get tasty and authentic tasting jellof rice. Having been to A.G.G. a few times and the jellof rice was 'hit & miss' of very authentic Nigerian tasting jellof, to just ok jellof, over the last week (possibly two), it's been all hit and no miss. It's also gone down as the best jellof rice I've had in the UK. Seafood okra: Much as I didn't eat this but ordered it for family, they raved so much about I wished I did like okra! In their words (and they're very difficult to please), it was outstanding! Nuff said! Egusi and Efo riro: I'm not a fan of white Egusi (which they serve) so tend to mix it with efo riro. I placed an order of both and my goodness, it was 'Yoruba' cooking in mouth! Difficult to explain and can only be understood when you've eaten authentic Yoruba food in Nigeria. Only niggle but not major, is the use of spinach rather than callaloo greens (don't know the Nigerian veg name) for efo. Goat meat: The goat meat is not only tasty but has that goaty taste I love. The portion I bought was freshly prepared and though I was meant to travel with it, I went from taste to empty plate! Ewa Agoyin: You just have to try it! Indescribable! Service 5* So far, I've not had a poor service experience. All the staff have been and are courteous and helpful, though some more than others (I wish I remember their names - the lovely lady with the daughter that work there, the young lad, and the Italian Nigerian girl). Yes, it can take a while to order due to the queues and waiting, but in my view, that validates the quality and authenticity of the food, otherwise it'll have much less visits and queues. My hope is that I'm not terribly disappointed in future. Ambiance 3.5* This isn't a negative as it's always spotlessly clean which is the priority really. However, for dining in, it is basic, and with the queues often crowded with students and professionals alike. Definitely my go-to place when I crave Nigerian meals at the moment, and saves me the trip to London for a good Nigerian meal!

They have that distinct Yoruba flavour and texture down. Yummy at an addictive price. Try it if you get a chance.

During our road trip return from Nottinghamshire, we searched on-line, at Castle Donnington for African restaurant, and it came up with the name - AGG. It is located on the High Street in Coventry, about 2 minutes walk from Fargo Village! Service was prompt - Page, the waitress, had a nice smile. Our starter - meat pies was warm and delicious, not stuff with too much flour! For our main, we had fried rice with assorted meat; Egusi with pounded yam and Ogbonno with Pounded yam. The ambiance was nice and peaceful

I took my colleagues to this place and they wouldn't stop asking when next can we go? I enjoy the food here from Amala with gbegiri&ewedu, to goat meat chops, jollof rice is superb too with freshly prepared plantain. Food takes a while to be ready though so get your mind prepared

Happy to see African food available. But after standing at the counter to be served for 5 min with another customer and no sign of life gave up. Reading some of the other reviews looks like customer service not priority. There were only two people in Resturant. They list out on a table of four :(. Inside was fairly dark and not the most welcoming. It's a real shame as it would have been good to see if the food was as good as other African food I have had. However down the street they have developed far gosford street. Went into the friendly and attentive Urban.

If you just get into Coventry and miss home food for a week, then you could try AGG. Their food is just OK, provided you eat it only once, otherwise the content of the scotch bonnet (hot pepper) can perforate your stomach linings. Also, the food takes forever to get served. It is really a wonder, since it's not freshly cooked. Also, those staff. Hmm. Bad customer service and disgruntled staff are even worse here than back home. They seem upset about working there. The owner may need to give them a breather. He probably is the average micro-manager. In all, for me, the meal was just OK, too salty and nothing beyond the ordinary.

Im a regular customer, the food is great. However you could be waiting up to 45 minutes for your order, the tables are sticky and customer service is poor. I prefer not to eat in but even when you order for collection you end up waiting another 20 minutes when you get there. Overall food is amazing, they need to work on timing and customer services.
