Ive been coming here for years but now the jollof rice seems like the flavour isn’t the same and there isn’t love or joy cooking the food. Owner needs to bring joy into his employees instead of making them miserable

Nigerian food in London. Went on a Sunday afternoon for takeout. Jollof rice was a bit hard but okay. The hake fish was good. Shaki was good too. Moi moi was a bit hard. Was frozen prior. Overall not bad.

I mostly go here for my jollof rice which is tasty and reasonably but why do I get looks when I go in there ? Yes white folk do like spicy food too :-) The fish soup is nice too and always handy for winter colds The staff can be little cheerful and more welcoming but all in all a good place

Good was fine if not full of gristle. Went with a friend who is a regular but I’d never been before. Had a lunch deal with some meat with a flavoursome rice. Needed lots of sauce to be able to get through the rice and there wasn’t much meat (but I was having a deal so that may explain it). One mouthful was pure fatty gristle which wasn’t so good. Over all the flavour was nice - not sure I’d go there off my own steam - but to meet friends it’s OK

Abula had a stale taste and no beef, just a waste of money. I'm sure the management has changed over the years.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Brought ambula for takeaway, soup smelt sour like its been there for a while. Meat was also sour plus the meat looked bad like the rubbish parts of the meat. Two white hairs was also in the food which is absolutely disgusting. I would recommend the branch in East ham because the service and the food are soo much better. This branch needs to be closed down ASAP because they are selling food which is not edible for the public.

Ah! Where do I start from? I went to Squires by accident. I was going to the McDonalds across the road and found it was closed. We (My Sis and our kids) decided to get an Uber and as I was trying to keep the kids from playing, I noticed Squires, I just said ‘let’s see what they have here’. I went in and the aroma hit me. We ordered moimoi, rice, Egusi soup, pounded yam, the main Fanta, I mean we couldn’t stop. I was skeptical as we were having a takeout. We got back to the hotel room, I dived into the Egusi and it was sooooo good! Meat was soft and juicy, sauce was perfectly spiced. The moimoi and rice were from heaven. I’m awake at 1.25am searching and calculating how to order this and take to Stockton on Sunday. That’s how good it is.

I have bought food from the restaurant several times but the food has always been good but on Saturday, I bought Abula and there were hardly any meat in the stew. The meat were nonexistent. There were tiny shaki and possibly 3-4 tiny cow foot. It was a lot less meat than what I was charged for. Secondly, I also bought two jollof rice with assorted meats, unfortunately, the meat didn’t taste fresh and had to be thrown away. The standards are not the same again. Although I went with my family but we were disappointed with the food this time.

Placed a large order of food yesterday most of which was good however I'm giving this 1-star review because I was served 2 plates of spoilt inedible yam porridge and only discovered this when I got home. I have no doubts members of staff were aware of this before serving the takeaway dish because the stench was strong and I don't plan to visit here anytime in the future

I enjoyed the food. It was my first time there. The staff were cheerful and friendly. Surprised that the restaurant didn't have wi-fi.

The layout and atmosphere is quite frustrating as there are only a 8 tables so it’s a first come first serve basis, also quite loud. On to the food, I must say it was really nice I tried Abula for the first time and it wasn’t bad. They are very handy with their portion sizes and meat giveaway. All together it was really cheap considering we were rally full at the end.

Great food. Really spicy - had pepper soup (assorted) for starters and then Ewa Aganyin (mashed beans) with fish. Was a wonderful introduction to Nigerian food and was very popular with the local West African community - authentic and not touristy at all. Staff helpful too as I wasn't familiar with menu. Worth the experience. Would recommend the Gulder beer too.

On 2 occasions we ordered food that never got delivered. Avoid. Arrive and attention is poor. When we eventually visited the Restuarant was quite noisy, Rey didn't have what was on the menu.

We used to visit here regularly in 2014. The food was good then. However, something changed in 2015 and everything deteriorated. The once tasty stew became laden with mixed spice or curry, the meat became tough and many items were unavailable. We decided to give them another chance today but I am afraid that it has deteriorated further. The stew now has no flavour or heat - it is just bland and tomatoey. It was also served luke warm. Again, so many items on the menu were unavailable, chicken and orange juice are just 2 examples. Come on, you are 5 mins from a butcher and supermarket! Really??? Anyway I was forced to order meat but could not eat it as it was hard and had almost no meat on the bone. My husband had the fish which was stone cold too. Really, really disappointing. I'm off to make my own Jolloff rice with hot chicken stew! It's really not that hard.

Got there and was ignored by the woman behind the counter. After which she asked " what do you want?" Although good value for money but I will not return. Somehow I don't think the owner cares.

They serve the full range of Nigerian grub. All your rices, beans, fried plantain, pounded yam with all kinds of different stews... also a wide variety of fish and meats. It is not fancy... but it is quick! Maybe a bit overpriced for food that has been frozen and reheated... It is what it is... I keep going back so it must be good 😊

Think of the most delicious combination of flavours possible, added to the quality of African cuisine served at this restaurant and add the local feel of the motherland and what you get is a fabulous and rustic atmosphere... with local music blaring and conversations flowing in all sorts of tongues, it is an experience worth having!

Love the food here, nice and spicy and always look forward to having my jalof rice and fish stew. I am quite taken back with the lack of customer services from staff, you would think you are asking food for free with their attitude. The kitchen staff are just as miserable inside looking at you as if you have arrived to arrest them! I have met the manager a few times though and he is very nice and friendly. The Dagenham branch seems much nicer, cleaner and friendlier if you fancy making a trip all the way there.
