The Ruskin Arms offers good value for the business traveler - rooms are spacious and have good WiFi and the hotel has secure parking.

breakfast was very poor, and if the hygiene standards that are employed elsewhere in this hotel, is anything to go by, you would be well advised to eat elsewhere. mind the bed bugs don't get you first.

My family and I Paid for four nights but did not stay in this hotel due to the dirty state of their bar where breakfast is served . The bar floor was very dirty and food crumbs over the floor .A visit to this hotel was horrible and this made my 11 years old child to say ''daddy! please let's not stay in this hotel '', coupled with noisy surroundings .None us ever wish to book this hotel in the future .We talked with the receptionist about the dirty nature of their bar and noisy room floor but replied ,''we cannot refund your money''.We left the hotel without refund and paid for Premier Inn ,London Stratford .If you mind clean hotel and comfortable environment,please do not book this hotel .It is very low budget hotel that would not comfort your stay .

It was an ok stay for the money. Asked for two more pillows waited three nights (asked several more times) they never made an appearance. The toilet didn't flush. As a family of four we were placed right above the pub. It got very loud on Friday nightand we were not able to sleep until well past 2 am.The kettle for tea and coffee was really dirty. The cups for water are not wrapped and sit right next to the toilet on a little ledge near the floor. If nursing by the by the state of the kettle and shower I would never use one of these!The good! It is only about eight minutes from a tube station. Breakfast is passable. A/c is fabulous!

The food is great, with a decent variety of traditional English pub food as well as some Indian dishes. During our stay at the hotel we ate here twice for dinner. The first time we ordered the beef lasagne and steak pie. We ordered at the bar and were given a number to take to our table, where our food was quickly brought out to us. Hot and tasty. We also took advantage of the deal where hotel guests receive a free drink with purchase of a main dish. An older gentleman took our order and the service was great.The second time however, was pretty awful to be honest. We went up to the bar and started to order fish & chips, a beef burger, and two drinks from the younger man working. I don't know what his deal was. He interrupted us halfway through ordering, turned to the girl that was working with him, and started speaking fast and angrily in another language to her, completely ignoring us. We had to get his attention again as he showed no signs of stopping his rant to finish helping us. He entered our order into the till and tried to make us pay for the drinks too, even though we were hotel guests (even if we weren't, the deal was advertised on posters all over the pub to the public for Mon-Fri and it was a Monday anyway). He seemed pretty upset that we wanted the advertised discount. He started talking to the girl again, then stormed off without another word to us. The girl came over to continue our order, and she seemed angry as well, like we were being difficult. I felt like I was being very polite through the whole thing, and once she saw we actually had a simple order, she was much more pleasant. This time I was not given a number to take to the table, so I asked for one. They brought us the wrong food anyway and almost forgot the fish & chips.The breakfast buffet was lovely. An awesome variety for the price (5P I think, but free for hotel guests!) including tea, coffee, OJ, milk, cereals, toast, beans, hashbrowns (sometimes there were chicken nuggets instead, heck yeah), scrambled eggs, mystery meat sausage with the consistency of a blended gym mat, pancakes, crumpets, jams, meat and cheese, yogurt, fruit, berry scones, and even salad, cupcakes and cookies.So, good food. Good value. Good service from most of the staff. Not good service from the younger fellow working that night.

Nos alojamos aquí el sábado para una fiesta de jubilación localmente. El caballero de recepción era encantadora conversador y servicial. Reserva nuestro taxi por la noche e incluso conseguir ofreció un precio por adelantado. Comimos en el pub antes de nuestro evento y la lasaña vegetal era hermoso. Nuestra habitación estaba limpia, muy moderno, etc. té extra disponibles. Volvimos en las primeras horas y entrada adquirida fácilmente. A la mañana siguiente desayunamos. Había una buena selección de comida caliente y pasteles, bizcochos, pan tostado yhoughouts incluso bollos. Sin embargo, no era el bar n y la disposición parecía un poco temporal. La comida se reponía y sucio, etc. lugares.Me alojaría de nuevo cuando visite la familia en la zona o para viajes a Londres.

Good value hotel 10 mins to tube about 20 to central London. Lovely curry over road. Friendly, clean and safe place for a solo female.

Da wir im angeschlossenen Hotel wohnten waren wir zwei Mal zum Essen (Hamburger und Fish&Chips) und 4 mal auf ein Bier im Pub. Das Essen ist pubtypisch einfach, aber lecker. Preislich angemessen (8 £ inkl. 1/2 Pint) Das Pint kostet 3,20 - 3,60 je nach Sorte (man hat Auswahl aus 8 Sorten Fassbier)Die Tische und der Boden sind etwas klebrig, aber auch das „erwartet“ man im Pub.Die Bedienungen sind freundlich und auch einem kleinen Plausch nicht abgeneigt.

Tonight’s staff were absolutely terrible. Did not want to know. Happy to chat with their mates at the bar and a cold attitude if you approach the bar wanting to order. James take note please, a rotten attitude like tonight will lose you more custom.

Il resto è a posto: colazione varia e abbondante, disponibilità del personale immediata (ci hanno sistemato la doccia non appena abbiamo lamentato che uscisse solo acqua calda). Ambiente spartano, adatto a turisti che si accontentano o gente di passaggio. Altra cosa di cui ho un po risentito: l'odore di fritto che dal pub sale per tutto l'hotel, non proprio il massimo ma pazienza. In genere io e la mia ragazza ci siamo trovati bene.

Fuimos allí para el desayuno (todo lo que pueda comer). El buffet estaba casi vacío, aunque pagamos el precio completo. Nadie molestó a rellenar el buffet, así que teníamos varias opciones y no me gustó nada. No recomendaría este pub para el desayuno

Il posto è spartana, semplice ma pulita e confortevole. Si trova nel cuore del quartiere indiano di East Ham, a 500m dalla stazione metropolitana di East Ham zona 3 District Line. In 20 minuti si arriva in centro. Il pub è il classico stanzone coi biliardi e funge da sala per la colazione. È ben fornito sia per il bere che per il cibo. Roba semplice ma ben preparata. L'unico difetto del pub è che è un po' freddo se si capita a Londra nei mesi invernali. L'albergo è molto pulito, confortevole e in una zona tranquilla dove si riposa ottimamente. Nelle stanze manca solo il frigobar. Per visitare Londra è ben situato. Intorno ristoranti indiani a go go e due o tre pub nelle vicinanze.

Have stayed a few times and once again the Ruskin worked well for us. Decent sized room (with TV, tea and coffee, safe etc), clean en suite bathroom and comfortable, large bed with buffet breakfast thrown in. And...live music by the rather good Joe Henderson Jazz Band on Saturday night. Nice.

Nos alojamos aquí por 2 noches. . . . pequeño parking. . . Pero seguro! El personal de recepción amable bienvenida. . . Pero necesitas una identificación con foto y la tarjeta utilizada para hacer la reserva pago / (sin embargo se paga) para poder estar! ! ! ! No mencionó en el momento de efectuar la reserva. !

Personale gentile, albergo pulito curato e confortevole...colazione abbondante e pub al piano terra completano il quadro positivo...solo un po' distante dal centro, ma con la metro raggiungibile tranquillamente a piedi e che porta direttamente in centro....

Nos alojamos en el Ruskin cuando vimos John Mayer en el 02 el 12 de mayo. El hotel era fácil de encontrar, a sólo 10 minutos a pie de la estación de metro East ham. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y aunque el diseño del lugar es un poco extraño (! ) encontramos nuestra habitación, que era básica, pero estaba limpia y funcional. Elegimos camas gemelas, que eran cómodas, aunque la cama de mi marido chirriaba un poco.

This is by far the worst pub in East Ham. No decent beer. No kids menu. Appalling. Will not be visiting here again. Food took ages and was rubbish for the money.

First off, I'm a HUGE Iron Maiden fan, and my sole reason for going to this bar was to see some of the band's early stomping grounds. While the pub itself has undergone MAJOR renovations since the band has played there, it was great to chat with the manager about the pub's history and band's influence on fans who come in for a pint. After a quick pint of my own, I asked the bartender if they had any coasters I could take as a memento, however they only have ones of the various beers they carry. She did however gave me a bottle of Trooper for the road ! Cannot say enough on how the staff made this an excellent experience for me. While I didn't eat, the food that other patrons were eating did look fantastic.I'll try it next time I'm there because I'm DEFINITELY going back.

Wir waren höchst zufrieden!Ein echter englischer Pub mit knarzigem Holzboden, etwas verhaut und dem Charme der 70er Jahre. Das Publikum bunt gemischt, wie London halt so ist, also indische und arabische Herkunft, weil der jüdische Friedhof gleich um die Ecke ist, nehme ich auch an, dass solches Publikum da war und auch einige echte, wenn auch wenige rothaarige Engländer.Dazu wird entweder Popmusik gespielt oder Sportveranstaltungen auf der Großbildleinwand geschaut.Weil die Preise für Londoner Verhältnisse recht günstig sind (1 Pitcher Bier 13 Pfund, als fast 2 Liter in einem Kübel, dazu so viele Gläser wie man will), wird oft auch laut diskutiert, macht aber nichts, alle sind dabei lustig und gut drauf.Wir waren zu einem Fußballspiel des FC Millwall übers Wochenende dort im Hotel. Und auch das Frühstück reichlich und gut!Wir würden es sofort wieder tun!

The Ruskin Arms is exactly right for £50 twin room. Great location as it is 10 min walk from East Ham station. The room was clean and tidy. Had a TV and tea making facilities. Shower gel and towels provided. The bar attached was busy enough late evening with locals and hotel clientele getting along with one another. The breakfast is a buffet affair. Fresh fruit is provided, along with scones, chocolate biscuits and salad! There is cheese and ham for our European friends. Cereal and croissants, too. Hot food-wise you are provided with sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns and beans. No bacon! It was fine. I toasted some potato cake and Steve made toast. It wasn't brilliant but I have no complaints whatsoever. The coffee was great I thought. It was a bit of a mish mash, but you couldn't complain about the lack of variety that's for sure! I really recommend this place for a very cheap stay. And the price of the beer is ok too.

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits au Ruskin Hotel. La proximité du pub est clairement un avantage pour l'hôtel. En effet, tout les soirs en rentrant du centre ville nous avons mangé dans ce pub à l'ambiance local. La décoration typique en bois, les billars, les gros canapé... Tout cela reflète bien l'image de ce pub.La nourriture y est bonne sans être excessivement chère. Attention cependant au plat indien qui peuvent être très... Piquant !Le personnel est très sympathique et se prête volontairement à l'exercice du Français.Pour notre part, nous avons goûté, leurs pizza, pâtes à la bolognaises, Poulet TikkaMassala, ou encore Fish and chipsConclusion, je recommande fortement si vous êtes dans le coin.

Hotel situado en un barrio de comunidad india, alejado del centro pero bien comunicado con la línia de metro, (A 30 minutos del centro).Habitaciones limpias y amplias. Sencillas pero suficiente para pasar unos dias.El personal fue muy agradable. Desayuno continental muy completo.

I stayed here for 7-8 days and the room was clean. Didn't have any issues with any of the facilities. The breakfast was good but after few days started getting bored. Maybe a change in the menu during the week would be a great idea for the guests staying over a longer period.

Went in on Sunday for a 'look see' as it is very handy for my visits to London. The pub grub was good (although we had to wait a while) and the deal was a free drink with a main course so 'bargain'. There was a really mixed crowd, some watching a huge screen with Sky Sports, others chatting. We'll be back.

I stayed with my husband for 3 nights. They staff were friendly. Parking is only on a first come first serve basis. Breakfast was good for soemone who is a vegetarian and you have a great selection to choose from.If you fancy a good curry there are plenty of choices on the high street.The staff could'nt do more for you. They refrigerated my medicine upon request and helped me with my luggage as I am 7 months pregnant.Thank you Armendo & Co at the Ruskin :)

Vi gick hit enbart på grund av den historia stället har med Iron Maiden. Tyvärr är inte så mycket bevarat från den tiden längre. Maten är ganska smaklös, så är man inte galet förtjust i Iron Maidens historia kan man hoppa över detta ställe.

En klassisk pub i England.Vi var sär för att ta en öl då det fanns en Iron Maiden fantast i sällskapet. Det var ju här Iron Maiden mer eller mindre startade sin karriär engång i tiden. Bra utval på öl. Grattis wi-fi. Deras hamburgare var bland det bästa jag någonsin har ätit. Rekommenderar starkt deras maiden hamburgare.

Pub attached to the hotel is okay, hotel is average. Needs more attention to detail. Okay for the price. However, location leaves a lot to be desired. Taxi driver warned us not to go out anywhere at night, lots of undesirables hanging around if you know what I mean. Staff were 'okay', room was 'okay', probably wouldn't stay again, but this place is no different to any other in the area.

Nous sommes restées 3 nuits au Ruskin Hotel. Ce pub, dépendance de l'hôtel, était très pratique en raison du peu de restaurants dans le quartier indien. Ce fut une bonne surprise : l'ambiance est typique, surtout les soirs de matchs diffusés sur grand écran, et le personnel très accueillant. Très sympa pour boire une bière ou manger sur le pouce en compagnie de locaux !

Stayed here with my 12 year old nephew for 4 nights. Great hotel. It is clean and staff are very friendly. They will do anything to make sure your stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast gives a variety of choices and the pub downstairs is a nice place to unwind after strolling through London. The hotel is about 600m away from the East Ham underground station and has direct trains going into central London, so a great hotel for a city trip. Price/quality is good. I travel to London regularly and will definitely come back here.

Great Hotel set in the Old East End, very modern interior, 5 mins walk from East Ham Tube Station, staff very helpful, good food and drinks at very reasonable prices, will definitely stay again.Only down side for our visit was the Internet was down but I'm sure it's fixed now.

When we first checked on maps we saw another one with the same name in the centre (Ruskin Hotel) which looked ok. After we booked we realise it was a different one and it was a bit further from the centre so we had to spend a lot to get there. The room was ok (no wardrobe - just a hanger), the breakfast was the same everyday, ok for a few days trip. The staff was nice and helpful.

Read my main review; the pub is lively at night, spacious, good drinks and pub-dishes, two pool tables if you fancy it and they get a good crowd in most nights. Essential stop if you stay at the Ruskin Hotel or anywhere in East Ham.

Good fresh fruits, food and coffee. Theres a microwave for heating up your pancakes and coffee too. Its a restaurant and pub with a big projection screen for live TV shows. They have karaoke Friday nights too.

I don't think I've ever eaten worse burger in my life, and I am eating regularly burgers. The meat was greasy overcooked and smelled, there was no sauce in it, not even mayo. The table was dirty and sticky and they even got the salt and the pepper mixed up. Avoid it if you seek food.

Reasonable pub food (the salad's nice and good value), standard inoffensive beers and Sky Sports. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is limited range, but at 3.50 it's a bargain in these parts. Modern open decor, mixed clientele, friendly staff, and a pool table. Good for what it is.

I had a drink and dinner here every evening because it was convenient and the food was edible.The staff are great and very helpful.

The Ruskin Arms Pub & Hotel ist ein preiswertes und gutes Hotel. Freundliches, sehr nettes Personal und gutes Essen. Das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis passt. Wer unkomplizierte und lockere Atmosphäre mag und auf moderne und komfortable Ausstattung steht, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Mit den öffentlichen (Bus vor Haustüre und U-Bahn in der Nähe) unterwegs ist benötigt ca. 35 Minuten ins Zentrum von London. Das Hotel selbst liegt in einem Stadtteil in dem hauptsächlich Inder wohnen, was jedoch absolut nicht störend oder negativ ist. Indische Restaurants im Umfeld des Hotels gibt es ausreichend und auch genug Super- / Minimarkets.

Aunque algo ruido y lleno de hombres, es un lugar fantástico si te alojas en el propio hotel como si no. Buena comida, buen ambiente; karaoke los viernes, música en vivo los sábado. Siempre hay gente. Recomendable principalmente para tomar una rica pinta de cerveza (a quien le guste)

Situé au rez de chaussée de l’hôtel du même nom, ce pub typique sert de nombreuses bières à la pression ou à la bouteille et propose un bon choix de plats, typiques du pub anglais. Le service en cuisine est un peu long mais le résultat vaut l'attente. Bonne ambiance avec une clientèle de clients de l'hôtel et d'habitants du quartier (indien).

Visited London and found this lovely hotel in the perfect location. Close to the Olympic park via nation rail less than 10 minute journey, and close links to the underground to get around. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Next time myself and my husband are in London we will defiantly stay here again!

Stayed at the attached hotel, working, for 2 nights. Hung out in this bar both nights - friendly efficient staff, great friendly locals, good atmosphere, sport on the telly, really honest value food that satisfies - a phaal curry that makes your nose run! After work we really enjoyed both evenings here.

A lively bar with happy, polite staff. Enjoyed the atmosphere & local people were really friendly. I would recommend going in for a relaxing drink !

Da wir im anschliessenden Hotel unterbebracht waren, war das Ruskin Pub natürlich sehr praktisch. Wir waren 4 Abende dort, und hatten immer Spaß. Entweder nur um etweas zu drinken oder auch um etwas zu essen. Große Getränkeauswahl, sehr nette Bedienungen. Meistens läuft Fussball auf einer Leinwand, man kann aber auch Pool spielen oder einfach nur relaxen. Die gegessenen Fish und Chips waren total lecker. Es gibt auch einige indische Gerichte, welche dann vo Personal in einem benachbarten Restaurant geholt werden, das kann man sich eigentlich sparen, dauert vor allem auch einige Zeit.

Boa opção para quem está hospedado, funciona como PUB à noite, mas com menos opções de bebidas do que os tradicionais PUBs da capital inglesa.

Popped In with a few friends to watch the football and ordered some food. Fish and chips set me back £7 and it was well worth it. Lovely find. Will be back again

I was staying at the hotel and had little choice but to eat here.Breakfast was fine but food in the evening was very poor.A pile of limp pitta served with hummus. Mushroom, mozzarella and pesto burger was nothing more than a cold grilled mushroom with a little cheese and pesto stuck inside a bread roll.After a lengthy wait both starter and main arrived together, with not so much as an apology.It's a sports bar not a restaurant. Stick to serving beer!

SI mangia bene con dieci sterline. Il venerdi sera c'è un disk Jockey e c'è musica fino a tardi, a volte anche dal vivo.. Vi lavora anche una ragazza italiana e per chi ha problemi di lingua la cosa è certamente positiva.

Dinner portions were large and yet well- priced. Good, clean cooking. Breakfast was buffet style and just ok, very heavy on the carbs.
