Goldengrove in Newham

The food is ok IF they can get the order right, yet ANOTHER disastrous visit here with them getting the main course order wrong AGAIN!! Both my friend and myself ordered extra coleslaw (these come in a larger pots than the standard portion) with our meals tiny pot came out which was the portion I was meant to get with my meal anyway ...complaining to the server he didn't seem to understand the these were portions that came with the meal he took 6 attempts involving I'm guessing a manger in the end to sort it out, also they couldn't do cocktails thet DIDN'T have ANY JUGS to serve them in what the heck !!! I then tried ordering Southern comfort and American..they didn't have any southern comfort JUST WOW ... This ISN'T the worst this that's happened here the last time I got CUSTARD served with my MIXED GRILL in a bowl on the plate mmmm you did read that right lol ....I did wonder what the heck it was !! ....I HAD ordered it BUT it was meant to come with the dessert !!!! The manager is lovely and harassed bless him some of the bar staff are ok, but a LOT of the serving staff don't have a clue !!! They don't seem to understand the problems or grasp what your trying to explain to them ... more than once. And don't even get me started on the cleanliness or lack of in the the pub generally let alone the nasty toilets !!! The ONLY reason we come is as it's close to my friend for a catch up, but if there was another whetherspoon near to her one we would 100% avoid this one sorry to say.

Everyone we visit here they get something wrong with our orders. We've had custard brought to the table with our mixed grills and always get drinks wrong too. We've been several times to this pub and each time they get something wrong. Appalling

Cheap and cheerful... Nice beer garden. Very rude service and long waiting time.

Don't bother ordering on the app. They just take the orders and let them line up on the bar. Not once was an order delivered to the beer garden. Woman in charge wearing bright clothes is pretty damn rude too.

The food and seating are nice but the service is below average. The staff seem overworked. We ordered a dessert to have after our meal but only received an extra ice cream bowl and not the dessert we ordered. After waiting 20 minutes and receiving another extra ice cream without our dessert, we refunded the dessert but still had to pay for the ice cream that we received. This was on a Thursday afternoon with a half empty capacity.

Despite there only being two staff they were handling the busyness well but is was a wait to order and for food to arrive. What they didn’t handle well was accepting Scottish money, the management need to train their staff on handling money. It is legal tender! We were made to feel very unwelcome as they caused a scene at the bar.

Can’t say this is one of the better Wetherspoons I’ve been in. Looks a bit tired inside, staff not overly friendly although the service was quick there wasn’t much interaction. No sooner had the last bite been taken the plates were whipped away. No tables big enough to accommodate our group of 6 with the bigger tables occupied by people sitting on their own. Wouldn’t be looking to use this one again in the future!

A pub with charm, an authentic English pub with an excellent burger and draft beer.

I found it difficult to get a seat inside on a Thursday afternoon, although there was lots of seating outside. Prices were really good with some pints at £2.75 and Guinness £3.50. Service was quick and friendly but there was quite a long wait at the bar, if you didn't want to use the Spoons app. Toilets weren't up to the standards of most Wetherspoons.

This is probably the worst spoons I have been in. Service was non existent, the staff seemed more concerned with each other than serving. 25 minute wait for beer. Need wellingtons to go to the loo even though the chart was signed up for 1 hour in the future. Food over microwaved .

This was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt in any restaurant I’ve ever been to in my whole life. When we first arrived they didn’t want to clean the tables because they were closing that section but they didn’t even do any cleaning or work in that area, so they were just trying to be difficult. After bugging them to change other tables we finally got some plates removed. After this we was asked for id even though we only ordered Pepsi Max. The staff was rude and demanding and not understanding at all. They threw the food on the table, didn’t bring us any sauces and just pointed in the direction where we could find it. They kept harassing us the whole night for id, from 8:20 even though legally we are allowed to without. They shouted us and gave us attitude making the entire experience so uncomfortable, after this they removed us from table service on the app so we couldn’t order anymore food or drink. Ridiculous.

Fabulous staff, so friendly and helpful. Lovely beer garden and open late. Win win super quick service.

Super cheap cocktails, yet good quality, well-made considering how cheap. And I got tipsy!.. What more do you want. Service is a bit slow but no worries, drinks were great.

Over zealous security on the door. Pointing out that older woman had obviously had a drink. But wasn't stopping her going in. Just wanted to point this out to her. Wasn't doing the same thing to the men who were going in who were way more drunk. Clearly some training around sexist bias is required.

Very good food but very slow services. Not so friendly personal and the toilets are dirty.

I went there today to have a Mixed Grill as I was in the area and wanted a Wetherspoons lunch. On the positive side the mixed grill was very good. Compliments to the chef. The negative side was the poor service of the waitress staff. When they served the drinks and food they just plonked it down on the table and walked off. No effort of customer service or a simple 'enjoy'. What is worse is that the waitresses were friendly to the couple on the table next to me but for some reason they were cold to me. I was intending to have a few drinks but after this changed my mind due to the poor service. Not sure if I'll come back.

We were there for breakfast on Sunday morning. The map was extensive. You order at the counter and your selection is then brought to the table. Everything tasted great. You can get coffee as often as you want, refilling it doesn't cost anything.

Its a weekly ritual to end up in this place and have drinks for a little over 3 hours. Its a short walk from our work place in stratford, whats better is its a great value for money than all the high end places in Stratford but the same quality. Love the vibe in here.

A fairly busy establishment which offers a variety of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks including food at reasonable prices. However, food portions (were rather small) in comparison to the size of the plate they came on.

Decent local pub with good prices and decent food for a local pub, hard to find a seat in the evenings especially on the weekend but nice beer garden for the summer.

The best pub in the heart of the town square. Though it’s busy still they provide the best service.

Really nice Wetherspoons before match day at the London stadium. One of the only pubs that will let away fans in too. Super cheap 3-4 quid pints too. Lovely pub garden.

I visited this a few weeks back after spending the day at the Olympic Park. I’m a fan of Spoons and very rarely have I had a bad experience. However, sadly this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Spoons. I was in a group of 6 and we all ordered via the app. It took over 35 minutes for drinks to o arrive despite the bar being quiet. When I questioned this, I was met with a rude response of “It’ll be there when it’ll be there.” The food that we ordered was okay, pretty much what you’d expect from a Spoons. However, despite being placed in the same order, food came out in drips and drabs and again, when we chased it up, we were met with “I’m not sure”. I had to chase up the manager to get the final dish, which by this time was sold out. I received no apology for any of the delay, which was disappointing. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be going back to eat.

The manager was so rude coz we waiting ages for our drinks got our food first and the drinks was just sitting at the bar and was asking for resits even thou it's done thou the app and table number she was laughing at us coz we asked for her name and said she ant giving it she needs to learn manners being a manger after people spend there money in there

Got my food before mu drinks and had to wait 10min after my food to go up and ask for my drinks was polite and the women still wouldn't give my drinks even thou I told her my table number and the drinks had been sitting there for ages and then the manger come over and we asked for her name as she was rude for nothing and she said she ant telling us her name laughed at us said we was never aloud back in there again and then someone called her by her name so we said thanks that's our complaint sorted and she laughed and hide in the back room never would I go back in there the food was cold at this point so waste of money

Security staff was nightmare, once by mistake I opened back garden door at 11.03 and they just kicked out us outta store didn't even let us finished our second drink which bought already and went for smoke, we apologise didn't argue and unknowingly we just opened wrong door as i didn't knew after closing garder (back area) we can't go for even smoke. Worst thing was we didn't even start smoking in backyard and they requested us go out for smoke and we went out of the bar and didn't allowed as back instead, we requested and the security guard was just non respectfully. We went many wetherspoons but this was totally unacceptable and nothing else.

I've been at there but security guard was totally unprofessional I just brought one drink and after buying one more me and my friends went out side for smoking but bar closed in garden area security told us to smoke outside front Door without any arguments we left that place but when we were outside they didn't allowed us inside and we already bought 8 drinks after requesting manager politely they didn't allowed us and I am writing this to management how this allowed I didn't even argue or used any faluls language as well and it happen just before I writing this review I been many wetherspoon and it's my choice every time but I didn't face this issue anywhere else...... hope team of wetherspoon review my comment and take it seriously because I don't want that any one face tnat I face. may be they are resists or it happend to many people. Gone for a 9h beer shift. Nice outdoors, cheap as any other spoons. Just a very slow service, got me waiting over 40min for a pint which is unacceptable. Will come back though.

there was a young blonde and plump lady at the service, but with an indescribable disgust. She never said thank you or please. and always had the "what do you want" look. I do not recommend at all!!! bar staff very cold and indifferent. as if you were bothering them when you wanted to order.

The outside area is very nice, but the smoking area is quite tiny. i wish it was possible to smoke in a bigger area (it's outside anyway). Other than that, service is quite fast and the food is very good. Drink selection is also not bad and prices are unbeatable. I noticed that if you order from the app, your order will come out faster.

Couldn't leave England without trying a traditional breakfast, it was delicious. Great place, awesome service.

The wetherspoons is amazing!! The wetherspoons is located near morrisons and heading towards westfield. Its a small wetherspoons compared to other wetherspoons. The food was amazing and delivered with speed. The staff were very efficient and welcoming. Very pleased with the service

Usually busy. Always buzzy. Muti-cultural, very diverse, inclusive crowd. It's Stratford...so has a large transient tourist trade, but also a very loyal local following. Surprisingly different from your usual Wetherspoons. Late evening has a more relaxed vibe. Needless to say...I'm one of the 'locals'.

Slow staff food takes way longer than Wetherspoons rules. Rude staff. Tables don't get cleared of food. Very busy spoons so they should be use to having everything to spoons policy.

A good Spoons I have been going to for 20 years. The food is cheap, atmosphere friend and staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a recent lunch which was Scampi Chips Mushy Peas and Chickens Wings which were very small . The food was hot and you can tell its frozen etc but you pay for what you get. Drinks are super cheap as you expect. Toilets could do with a refresh.

Decent enough local for East London but the service was poor and the food was dry and tasteless Spent £20 on a large mixed grill and a double whisky and coke Had to ask for my drink twenty mins later when the food came and the girl I asked walked off and never came back The drink arrived after I’d had the dry mixed grill when in reality, I wanted it beforehand Plus the prices of Spoons have really shot up

The portions are off and things are always unavailable. A Mediterranean salad comes is a tiny side bowl even though it’s almost £10??? Half the selection wasn’t available and even though it took them over 15/20 minutes to deliver our drinks they still didn’t have any of the requested draft beers. It’s just disappointing and disorganized that these things aren’t pointed out when ordering.

Good portions are small, some was not bright too is she wet had to ask more than twice about it. Drinks and starters order was mixed up with another table's order and the staff weren't on it. Granted it's a demanding job but being polite is not that hard. Manager was quick to resolve

I went there on Christmas eve's morning with some work colleagues and we were being very loud and annoying. Still, the servers were so incredibly nice and polite to us (although, honestly, we didn't deserve it). Incredible, amazing service.

It's just below one star. We ordered a few items and after a long time the staff informed that the ordered item was unavailable.The food was just ok. Poor customer service and this place doesn't have an ambience. If you are seeking a place with a good ambience, this is not the right place. Also, after 10:30PM customers are not allowed to sit in the open area and so that we have to find a seat in the inside area and unfortunately had to wait for a long time with our food and drinks. Some people were disturbing others by clapping and making noises and even the staff doesn't care about the privacy of other customers.

The food and ambience is really good. They have bottomless hot drinks which is great. But mostly they are very busy and service is quite slow. You have to be lucky to find an empty table.

Nice place to hang out with the lads, good vibes going on. Place was absolutely filled with people. You cant beat a place like this!

Sadly, they have not hired enough staff for a Thursday or Friday. The staff try their best, but there are not enough of them. It means queues become ridiculous in length, I am often waiting over 10 minutes just to be served. If you order a drink via the app, it is best to go and pick it up yourself
