The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Turkish food

Tried the newly introduced pizza at Lokma Shawarma Mangal on Evington Road. The base was fresh and nicely baked, and the overall taste was decent. However, the cheese was a bit on the lighter side — could definitely use a more generous layer. Still, for a new item on the menu, it shows potential. Worth trying if you’re already a fan of their other food.

Man was wearing no shoes behind front of house,this is rather disgusting as the place don’t smell so great either,they should really get the health and hygiene checked out!!

We have wraps every Friday and I can honestly say they are full of quality ingredients. Fresh sald and lovely meat. I cannot recommend them enough.

What an amazing place, great service, lovely ambiance and fantastic food I just wished I lived closer as we went because we had a on night in New Brighton. A member of the team greets you at the door and takes you to a table asking if it's OK or would you like another. Just beware of the seat by the kitchen which are quite warm as you are by a screened off charcoal pit. When asking if you want a drink you are also asked about allergies. Explanations of any of the dishes is given, the menu is quite extensive. We had taramasalata and Sigara Böreği which were lovely, the taramasalata completely different from the usual. Mains were fresh from the charcoal being Alinazik and Karışık which were beautifully cooked moist and lightly charred. Overall it was a lovely night, the staff are attentive but not pushy which considering how busy it was was surprising. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Plats vraiment chers pour la qualité des mets. Sur le papier, ça a l’air tentant mais c’est décevant, beaucoup d’associations inutiles. Par exemple le plat d’aubergine est gâché par du fromage fondu et de la figue alors qu’elle est délicieuse par elle même avec ses noisettes torréfiées. Les champignons sauvages (qui n’en sont pas tous) nagent dans une sauce peu savoureuse avec des croûtons de pain gras..l’agneau (bon par ailleurs) est posé sur de la salicorne bien trop cuite et du coup sans saveur, bref le seul plat à la hauteur a été le poulpe avec son taboulé (tarama bon mais inutile ici) et la brioche de l’entrée avec ses sardines fumées (13 pounds quand même) Une ardoise de 200 pounds à deux pour 6 plats en tout et à deux. Je n’y retournerai pas même si le cadre est très joli (en bas uniquement).

This is a lovely restaurant for lunch. The food is fresh, warm Turkish bread and dips brought while you read the menu. It’s warm and welcoming and no shortage of waiting staff. Second visit in a week during which time it was rebranded with a new menu. Excellent value lunch special and perhaps best of all the lamb kebabs have not been infused with the ubiquitous liquid smoke so widely used elsewhere. Will look forward to dinner when the weather warms up!

Excelente relación calidad-precio. Comida fresca y deliciosa. Nuestros favoritos son los kebabs y chuletas de cordero. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficientemente!

So I would say that we treat ourselves every couple of months to a family meal out and there is never any argument over where the kids or my wife and i want to go. It is simply amazing quality food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and great value. Genuinely our family's favourite restaurant.

We were there for lunch. We were visiting Aberystwyth for a hospital appointment. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it and wished we lived nearer.

La peor experiencia gastronómica de la historia, la comida no era comestible, la comida no estaba disponible. El servicio fue terrible. Sobreprecio y no sabía que teníamos que pagar extra para sentarse hasta que tuvimos que pagar! Nunca más iré allí.

My friend and I went with our little ones. We asked if we could see if our toddlers would sit and eat. If so then we would obviously pay the difference between eating in and take away. Three members of staff were adamant that this was not acceptable (and treating as as if we were trying to pull wool over their eyes) therefore we had no other option other than to leave with a take away. We also asked for one skewer of chicken shish (for a toddler) however the staff said that they only do two skewers at a price. Someone please enlighten the staff at this restaurant about the importance of customer service and being flexible. Both my friend and I left feeling very unwelcome here today. Staff here definitely need some training on customer service and meeting the needs of everyone, including those with families and young babies. I won’t and don’t recommend this place with anyone with a young child or toddler.

This restaurant has now changed hands and is now Elite Bar and Kitchen - but I can’t add it as a new restaurant here! Really good food and friendly service on a Monday lunchtime. Restaurant only opened this weekend.

Very poor service paired with ignorance. After not even one hour we were told that our table was booked . The manager was rude and ignorant. He was not prepared to listen when I asked to speak with him. It was my first and last visit to this restaurant.
