Izmir Bar & Grill in Horsham

Booking online was simple, and generated helpful booking confirmation emails/texts. On arrival we were nicely greeted and given a choice of where to sit. As we'd specified one of us was gluten free via the online booking form, it was nice that the menus we were brought were supplemented with the allergens guide. When the waitress took our drinks order, we also gave our food order - and by the time we'd finished giving it a waiter had brought the drinks. Now that's efficient! I tried a mocktail (I don't drink) and it was very nice and well priced too. We ordered starters and mains and both were delicious, and the starters were accompanied with nice flatbread, olives and sauces too. Staff were friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, throughout. The vibe was relaxed and the background music well chosen - and it was nice to see a birthday celebrated at another table with a less cliched than other venues choice of music and without too much intrusion to others' dining.

We had a great time for dinner. Super food. And Amelia our serve tea excellent, friendly and helpful in all regards. Would highly recommend!

Izmir prepare the best most tender Lamb we have ever had. we have been a few times now and have not had a bad experience. The staff are spot on and try to make sure you get everything you need. we went at last minute on a Saturday night they squeezed us in and delivered a great meal. Only minor thing was music a little loud. don’t get me wrong we like music but it was had to chat and even waitress struggled to hear our order. we wanted something a little off menus and they still accommodated us. Caterers for all ages and there is a mix of patrons. Great cocktails too. i now have to try and replicate them at home. well done Izmir.

We had an excellent meal last week when staying over in Horsham. We welcomed in and enjoyed a lovely hummus starter. The main course was delicious. We had a great night, excellent food and excellent service. Can recommend.

We came here as we love Turkish food and wanted to try it out for a long time. Service was quick but very impersonal. Cold starter mezze was tasty but disappointed with bread, as felt cheap and not the warm and fluffy bread we are used to. Main course portion was tiny and food was bland. Atmosphere in restaurant is awful with music being way too loud. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

First visit & had lunch. Set menu £13.95 for two courses so great value. All the food was very nice and Chicken Shish is really good. Service good too but then again it should be as they add a service charge!

Mediocre food and not great service very overpriced £85 for ordering a main course each no starters and one round of drinks. Food was average, not very hot and portion was small for the price they charge. Very expensive and overpriced for food quality and service we received.

I have visited three times and on each occasion been treated in a dismissive manner. service was slow and inattentive , during my second visit I approached the waiter to pay my portion of the bill and was met with an accusatory tone. on my third visit I was not offered a receipt, and on later inspection of my account found that I had been over charged.

Met 3 friends here for lunch. Never been before. We started with Baba Ghanoush, Grilled Halloumi for 2 & Izmir Kofte. We then had Imam Bayildi, Chicken Princess, Chicken Shish & Lamb Shish. (See online menu for more info on the dishes). We finished with passionfruit cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake & Baklava. All the food was very tasty with each mouthful full of flavour & we had a great time. With 4 soft drinks, coffee to finish, plus service charge, we felt that £28.50/head was excellent value for money. It’s more expensive visiting for dinner (as with most restaurants) but an absolute bargain at £13.90 for a 2 course lunch. The staff were attentive, very polite & we loved it. Thank you Adam & team for making our lunch get together just perfect. We will be back soon! (Note: there is a downstairs loo for disabled diners not able to make the many steps up to the next floor’s facilities).

I took a young lady here on our first date last night and the service, the food and the ambience was amazing. Having been to Turkey quite a few times I would have to say the food is very authentic and tastes absolutely divine. They have a comprehensive cocktail menu and all of the staff are very knowledgeable and personable. Thank you for a great experience.

This is the best restaurant in Horsham. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Courteous staff, very clean environment and the food will never disappoint you. We have been loads of times and always leave feeling delighted with everything. Highly recommend.

Over price .Very basic food done badly.Is a Turkish restaurant with no atmosphere. Food is blend. Nothing is season as a middle east test.Very disappointed .If you want to get the Turkish flavour don't go there is gone I was hungry so I have eaten Wath I have ordered but as the taste bud goes Nothing special. Price wise is far to much for the quality of what is in the plate. Average below 2 maybe 3 for not to be Ash but still not a Turkish restaurant as you know

Visited with members of family who had recommended. Very impressed. Very tasty food and good value - also a decent selection of wines. Would recommended.

Visited here with a group of friends. The food was good value with plenty of choice and good sized portions and the service was excellent. The waitress that served us was really friendly and polite. We had a lovely evening and were able to sit and chat at the table without feeling rushed or hassled to order anything else or presented with the bill straight away. A lovely relaxing evening.

Really wanted to love this place but came away feeling a little “meh” about it. Prior to moving to Horsham I lived in a part of North London that had a vibrant Turkish community. Maybe it’s unfair of me but this was the basis of my comparison for the food which was ok but pretty basic for the prices charged. I probably would return and try more dishes at some point were it not for the fact that the business owners really need to spend a bit of money on acoustic treatment for the restaurant. The restaurant has great decor and a busy bustling, upbeat buzz about it, which ordinarily would be lovely. Sadly the awful acoustics means that the “buzz” is so intrusive that you can’t even hold a conversation with the person opposite you without having to shout at each other. You can’t hear yourself think. This would put me off going back. We were a group of nine, the table was booked for 7.30 (for which I had to leave a £50 deposit) on a Saturday night, but we arrived about 20 minutes late. The staff were friendly and courteous but it took forever for someone to take a food order but once ordered the food didn’t take excessively long to arrive. They were clearly understaffed but I’m sure many businesses are suffering with this issue at the moment. We had to work hard to get the bill and they only bought the card machine over when we started to get up to leave, nearly 3 hours after arriving. I appreciate this review may come across as overly critical but I’m hoping the owners will take it as constructive feedback. I really do want to see the business thrive but there are aspects of the dining experience that need fixing, the most important of which is the building acoustics. This is easily fixed though.

The food was tasty and service was quick but the 'music' was so intrusive it spoilt our evening. I was expecting something more in keeping with a traditional Turkish restaurant but they are aiming this at young people who like to eat accompanied by relentless electronica beats. We are in our late 60's-70's and felt out of place.

We came here for diner first time we have been. The food was really lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this as a place to go.

Our waiter, Peter was outstanding. Food quality and portions were good, however the lack of Tabasco or equivalent did put a slight dampener on the whole experience. They also did not have milk alternatives such as oat milk, hence no coffee. Unfortunately it will stop me going there in the future.

Whilst staying in Horsham we visited Izmir Turkish restaurant. The food was delicious and so tasty. I would highly recommend hummus kavurma as a starter, enough for 2 people. Staff were friendly are very helpful.
