The best restaurants serving Thai food in Scotland

A 4.5 is, even using the decimal scale, highly overrated. White Rice instead of jasmin, bland taste (a curry should at least have some spicy flavour). A huge disappointment.

Visitamos este restaurante cada pocos meses, cuando queremos comida tailandesa. El personal es encantador y la comida y las bebidas son de gran calidad y también un buen precio, dado que están en el corazón de Edimburgo. Están por Castle Street, entre George Street y Queen Street y pueden no ser tan visibles como los restaurantes en George Street, etc, pero este es una joya de un lugar y definitivamente vale la pena una visita si quieres auténtica comida tailandesa con ese servicio especial.

Ok, pero podría hacerlo mejor. Reservado con antelación yendo con revisión. Bonito entorno, pero conocido por unas mujeres mayores muy hoscas que nos dejaron de pie durante siglos mientras ella estaba ocupada detrás del escritorio. Ninguna comunicación. Finalmente fuimos llevados a una mesa muy pegajosa y un buen chico más joven tomó nuestro pedido de bebidas. Una joven asiática vino a tomar nuestro pedido y una sonrisa le habría roto la cara, muy fuerte... .. nuestro entrante de panecillos de primavera vegetal y costillas llegó. Rollos de primavera ok, sin duda comprado en costillas no recién hechas ok, pero he hecho mejor yo mismo... la comida principal era pollo penng con arroz de coco y fideos con verduras. Mi marido disfrutaba de sus fideos, mi pollo era sabroso, sin embargo estoy seguro de que el pollo que acaba de ser cortado en rodajas pre - empacado se compró en Lidl o Aldi. Como esto estaba precocinado significaba que estaba muy seco al ser cocinado dos veces. Los frijoles verdes del plato no habían sido recortados y la pimienta un poco amarga.

Little pricier but best pad thai I’ve ever had (don’t have a ton of experience with Thai food tho)

Popped in today for a takeaway lunch and opted for the carrot and coriander soup and a smoked salmon bagel. Both absolutely delicious and well presented and the bagel had some yummy nice quality crisps on the side. Staff friendly. I will definitely return!

Yuk. Sugared green curry sauce. Huge chunks of almost raw aubergine. If you'd never heard of Thailand you could probably do better than this. Also £4.50 for one stodgy, tasteless spring roll (£9 for two) is taking the Michael. And again, YUK!

The food was good. The ambiance... A bit loud, but if you like that kind of thing... In my opinion, the food was a bit expensive, but it's a bit cheaper in the morning. Still, 4 stars.

Vino anoche de camino a casa por primera vez alrededor de las 6. 00 pm, ya había algunas personas en comer, lo que siempre es una buena señal. El menú no es grande que lleva mucho tiempo decidir cuál me gusta ya que es más fácil de elegir (para mí), pero lo que está en él era bueno. Pedimos un entrante para compartir que era tan sabroso, caliente y delicioso. Nuestro principal fue pollo al curry rojo y Choo Chee Seabass. Normalmente no comería curry pero pensé en probarlo. YUM YUM... tan bueno. Mi OH amaba su lubina. Dijo que era absolutamente delicioso, así que lo probé y lo fue... Uno de los odios de nuestras mascotas en cualquier restaurante son los platos fríos para su comida. Nuestros platos llegaron con platos calientes para poner nuestra comida para comer. Para cuando terminamos nuestra comida el lugar estaba vacío, pero la cocina estaba muy ocupada con comida para llevar y el restaurante estaría más ocupado más tarde. Volveré ... DEFINITIVAMENTE. La comida era abundante, caliente y muy sabrosa... El personal era muy amable también la música era apropiada y discreta, creando un ambiente relajado agradable!

I have been going for years, good food, good value. Went for the Pad Thai which is a first but it was nice. All the food going past looked delicious. Service a touch on the slow side but to be fair they were busy. A minor thing, staff on their break having a fag outside the restaurant door is not a great look. It's a disgusting habit, there must be somewhere out of sight you can go.

The most delicious authentic Thai food. Super cosy atmosphere, only about 9 tables. Super kind and attentive staff. My go to restaurant now whenever I have friends or family visiting.

I really wanted this to be great. Unfortunately, it wasn't even good. The fishcakes were battered, and the fish did not taste very fresh. I know this is Scotland, but thai fishcakes should not be battered. Green papaya salad was 80% carrot and lacked flavour. Descriptions did not meet the food that arrived. Finally, under no circumstances should anyone ever order the ice cream. It may have been lurking in a freezer since the ice age.

Third trip in 2 years to this spot. Forest excellent, second deteriorated, third this week 10/10. Keep in mind my wife is born and bred in Bangkok, And a great thao cook. Difference in three visits was second time chefs were clearly not Thai, even to my eye and palate. Obviously rectified,Pad Kra Pao with rice & Pad See Ew real street food quality. Staff passed on to chefs they were serving a Thai so hotter than normal and great. Icing on cake was waitress, who was a Brit, started speaking Thai to my wife, that got my total respect. Obviously middle visit was a blip, now Thai cooks in charge up to high standard and Thai speaking serving staff...above and beyond.... And still very well priced.

Service was wonderful with lovely attentive staff, very flexible and understanding with one of our group who wanted things left out of dishes or a different sauce etc, thank you 😊 The atmosphere was good, and the tables were spaced well enough apart to not feel crammed in. The chairs, most (we could see) of which have arms, are not best suited to larger diners such as myself, the arms on the chair were a little tight, I imagine someone bigger than myself may need to request a different chair which could be embarrassing. The food was delicious, I had a seafood dish, where the scallop was unfortunately overcooked, that said, everything else was cooked perfectly, additionally 2 members of our party were vegetarian, there's a very good selection of veggie/vegan dishes available 😊 I would happily recommend this venue to anyone who is in the market for a good Thai restaurant. It's a 4.5/5 from me, would have been 5/5 if that scallop hadn't been overcooked. We will be back in the future 😊
