I do not recommend their Vegan option for Wok Fried Noodle. I could not even finish cause too much soy sauce in it and it tasted too bitter. I used to have fried noodle there but this time I try vegan option and decided to never eat that again. Overall, the meal was not good at all except for the environment and the service.

Date of Visit: March 25 We recently visited Ting Thai and, unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. While the atmosphere remains vibrant and inviting, the service we received was disappointing. We ordered the vegan Pad Thai and vegan Pad See Ew with tofu and vegetables, along with the chilli sauce vegetables. We were informed that the chilli sauce vegetables were unavailable, which was understandable. However, the issues began when our Pad Thai arrived without tofu. Upon requesting the missing ingredient, the server simply returned from the kitchen and placed four pieces of dry, deep-fried tofu on top of the dish without mixing them in. As a result, instead of properly cooked and integrated tofu, we were left with bland, deep-fried pieces that did not complement the dish at all. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, we noticed that we were charged for the chilli sauce vegetables, which we never received. Additionally, our main dishes were listed with tofu and vegetables, meaning we would have overpaid for items we didn’t actually get had we not carefully checked the receipt. We have visited this location before and had a positive experience, but this visit felt as though the restaurant was being run by inexperienced staff who made multiple careless mistakes. Given our past experience, this was both surprising and disappointing. We hope that management takes these concerns seriously, as such issues can significantly impact customer satisfaction.

While the food is good and I'd probably recommend for that, I've been kept waiting for 40 minutes for takeaway on two occasions and my food was suddenly found both times when I marched in demanding a refund. Food is good, but don't rely on being anywhere within an hour of ordering takeaway apparently.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! The service was great, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes that made it fantastic value for money. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the prices were given the quality and quantity of the dishes. I’d definitely go back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Favourite Thai restaurant in Edinburgh by far! Best Pad Thai I have ever eaten and that’s coming from someone who’s spent years in Thailand! Casual dining, nice atmosphere and very reasonable pricing! Tip: go before 5pm it’s cheaper! Masaman and green curries used to be 10/10 although the recipe seems to have changed in the last 6 months. Still good although it is quite gutting to be honest the original recipe was much better.

We liked this Thai restaurant so much that we visited it twice. On the first visit we were more successful with the dishes we ordered. The best, without a doubt, was the Nua Tom Ting Thai soup, with a good spicy kick and an absolutely delicious taste. We also loved the Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai green curry, with an intense flavor and a very well-balanced light spiciness. The king prawn pad thai was very good. On the second visit, what I liked the most was the Massaman curry, less tasty than the green one, but still recommended. The Tom Yam Gai soup, on the other hand, didn't convince me as much. The service is fast and efficient. On weekends the restaurant is very full and they do not accept reservations, so you usually have to wait. However, as they are shared tables, the wait is not too long. Without a doubt, a place to repeat.

It's was takeaway so I got white steam rice with sprinkles wee eggs which suppose stir fry with drown in color it's totally dry white ride and wings very less in portion price went up it's okay but quality is poor and wings no spicy it was dry wings hairs with no flavour. So, will not back unless they improve quality food. Still service 5 star for service apart downfall in food quality.

I visited because it was close to my accommodation, and it opens at 12 o'clock, but it fills up quickly. Tom Yum Cai had hard chicken and a strong smell (chicken smell?), so I only ate the soup, and Pad Kapao Moo Sap was a bit salty, but it was okay. It was nice to be able to eat this much Thai food in Edinburgh. It's a decent restaurant.

Quite a disappointing meal. We ordered a tofu starter, corn fritters, the vegan soup and pad see ew. The tofu was very sweet and a bit weird in texture. The fritters were very greasy but not that bad. The soup was extremely sweet - like after 3 bites I just couldn't. The pad see ew, well, it just wasn't it. So bland, really nothing to it. It's my go-to dish so I know I'm somewhat critical but it just shouldn't be called pad see ew when you use the wrong noodles, there's no sauciness, umami or smokiness from the wok. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but we both left super disappointed. The staff were very kind and attentive though.

Typical very Westernized "Thai" food for people who have never had actual Thai in their lives. Mostly just noodles in heaps of salty soy sauce with that cheap bright red sweet chilli sauce slathered over everything. Noodles were pretty terrible, and resembled a cheap British-Chinese takeaway rather than any Thai food I've ever had, although they are presented nicely. The pork belly was ridiculously served. Huge hunks of very hard, fried-to-death pork with no knife to cut it! Like... um. It was allegedly a soup or curry, so you're not supposed to use your hands, but they give you a spoon and fork for large pieces of tough pork? Odd. The eggs were good enough. I mean, they weren't like any son-in-law eggs I've seen, and again, it was that supermarket sweet chilli jam and nothing else. But they were nicely cooked. The server was great. Super friendly and helpful. Too bad the food isn't much and the ambience is like a canteen. It's probably good for British uni students though, which I assume is who they cater to.

Saw this place on Youtube…also, as we were craving for Asian food, we had decided to give it a try. Being from Asia and also aware that the (Asian) food, in Europe, is generally on the saltish side, we had asked our waitress if they could go easy on the salt. The answer was a no…saying that the paste, for the tomyam, was “already mixed”. Errrr….how about the rest of the food? Like the beef salad and stir-fried kway teow? If everything was pre-mixed, we might as well buy off the supermarket! The food came…it was salty. I mean, SALTY. We had to add the table water to the tomyam…and also ordered a bowl of white Jasmine rice to go with everything. Apart from the salt situation, I wouldn’t say that this is authentic Thai food. Definitely been “westernized” to suit the local palate. The good review, from the YouTuber, needs to be handled with a pinch of salt.

Blown away. I have been recently so disappointed in several Edinburgh eateries, that it was a wonderful surprise to be delighted to find a place that fully deserves its reputation. My one suggestion would be that protein choice could apply to more dishes, as I don't eat meat. It did limit the menu a bit for me. My friend and I were with 2 children, so we kept the dishes mild so greedy mouths could try different things. I had Pad Thai, it was great. My fiend had a unassuming simple dish called Massaman Gai with meat, potatoes, and onions (kid friendly), oh my word the sauce was to die for. I will be back just to have it in my life once again. The Roti's were delicious and came with a fab dipping sauce. All dishes were reasonably priced and generous portions. I can't wait to return, I know what I will be ordering. All for me.

Did not have an enjoyable experience here. We’ve eaten here plenty times before and it’s been great, but tonight was awful. Our order was taken when we sat down. After 30 minutes of sitting we found out that our order had not went through, so it had to be retaken. Bottled drinks hadn’t been brought to our table either. We had a Fringe show to catch so we had no time for delays. Finally got our food and one of our orders were wrong. Hardly got an apology from one of the waitresses. When the bill was brought, it was a full bill. I mentioned that we had waited 40 minutes or more for food and that one of the orders were wrong. The waitress just laughed as she walked away, like what I mentioned was not fair. (Think they had an American/Canadian accent). Don’t think the food/service merited us paying full price and didn’t like the fact I was laughed at. Really disappointed as we have eaten here a lot with no issues.

I don’t think this is truly a Thai chain. We ordered the Ped Nam Peung and Seabass Maeklong. The Seabass was quite decent and the abundance of herbs and ingredients gave the required fragrance. However, it is quite a westernised version (there’s lettuce beneath the fish, and the sauce isn’t what you expect from a Thai food). The duck was frankly quite bad. It was dry, and while the seasoning had flavour, it did not seep into the duck sufficiently. It is also unfortunate that 1 or 2 pieces were overcooked too. One of the more bizarre aspect is that you are given your own jug and have to fill up from the tap yourselves. Furthermore, our table wasn’t wiped before we were seated, so there were roti flakes on the table. Honestly, if you order the other dishes, it probably should be good. The neighbouring table ordered fried chicken with jasmine rice which actually looks delicious.

Egg was a bonus for the dish since the complex smoky flavor coming from the frying heat was very appetizing 👍 Tom kha gai was very sour for ppl who don’t eat sour stuffs in daily life, but just great for me as a big “sourness in savory food” fan. 🍋 the chicken breast slices were again very dry and tough, and there were not a lot of veg. The flavorful soup base was the point between all components. Fried tofu was drizzled with very sweet chili sauce (which is not spicy at all) me personally don’t like sweet chili sauce so I would only give this dish a 2 out of 5. Peanut chunks were sprinkled over the tofu for extra crunchiness which was good. Overall the service was nice and the atmosphere was great. I would order Pad Thai again but not other dishes I’ve got today.

Busy lunch service, large portions, food was too salty and not spicy enough.

A perfect meal. I hadn't eaten any leafy green veg for five meals, couldn't stand it and stormed in. Ordered the Mee Gratiam with beef (extra 1.2 pounds) and Goong Frong Beer, which was served quickly. The Mee Gratiam had loads of beef, pok choi and onions. The fried prawns were very crispy and topped with a Thai sweet and chili sauce. Considering I had an overly expensive Thai meal only two days ago (the fish cakes at that restaurant were RTC food!) ,there's little reason not to give Ting thai five stars.

A fabulous place! My daughter and I were both feeling poorly during a university open day and craving chicken soup. This place was recommended by local friends and didn’t disappoint! We loved our soups - we had a different one each. So tasty! Quick service and a very charming waiter. We will be back!

Food pretty good but be careful to check your bill carefully. We were billed for the wrong table and sure I should have checked before paying but we ended up paying for 4 meals rather than two. Basics like billing the correct group should be got right.

Food abysmal. Atmosphere bizarre. What’s with the boxes??? Tiny bowls. You have to fill your own water. Unpleasant eating experience and food that bordered on inedible — too sweet, not spicy, nothing fresh.

Ordered the pad Thai and pad see ew for delivery for dinner. Portions are big and delivery was on time. However, both dishes were way too sweet and we couldn’t have more than a couple of mouthfuls before deciding to throw it out. The chicken pieces inside the dishes were also pretty much inedible - hard and dry and tasted like cardboard. Overall a really disappointing dinner :(

Food was amazing but everything arrives as its ready and the portions are generous. So be aware when ordering starters :-)

Food was not authentic thai. It was mostly (very) salty from soy sauce; lacking flavours that was supposed to come from fish sauce/ lemongrass/ lime etc. If you have an Asian tastebud like me, I'd say skip this restaurant. Otherwise, portions were generous for the price we paid.

I visit this restaurant on a fairly regular basis simply because the food is the best Thai food I have ever had in Edinburgh. This restaurant is so very welcoming,it’s incredibly authentic coupled with being very affordable and simply delicious. Tonight our waiter Sirawitq was so efficient polite and charming. I can’t wait to go back. Go for dinner you won’t be disappointed 😍

Me and my partner ordered lamb pasanda and I got a big black bit of coconut shell in my lamb. This was sharp and very dangerous goodness knows what would happen if I tried to swallow this . I could have died.
