Easily the best Indian takeway I've come across in Edinburgh. High-quality food prepared in full view of the public - some great specialities such as shatkora aloo gosht as well as all the old favourites.

The best takeaway in town, I recommend anyone to try for themselves. The kashi garam masallam dish amazing And the chringi roushun dish is mind-blowing. I've tried few takeaways and I found this the best food in town, Try for your self. Excellent 10/10 from me.

We placed an order for delivery, but unfortunately, the delivery driver did not verify our address and delivered our order to the wrong location. We aren't even sure if he attempted to deliver it to us. When we contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue, they blamed us for the mistake, accused us of trying to scam them, and shouted at us over the phone. This was a very disappointing experience.

Ordered through Uber eats, no sign of the food after 2 hours so i decided to call the restaurant. The food had been delivered to the wrong address even though the correct address had been inputted through Uber and while explaining the situation to the restaurant I was met with hostility and 0 accountability. “Your fault” “that’s not our problem” “you’re lying” were the types of responses I was met with when trying to explain my situation. The food is probably great too bad they have no understanding of the basic principles of customer service. #tuesdaynightruined

Ordered food through Uber eats, after waiting 2 hours I called the restaurant to find out the driver had delivered to the wrong address even though the correct address was clearly stated on the Uber app. Guy on the phone started trying to blame me for the incorrect delivery and refused to send another order or refund. Terrible service and staff. Never dealing with these people again

Tandoori was good , biriyani needs to improve a lot and wrap was bit bitter and the wrap was cooked like a coal .

The lamb in tamarind sauce is just about the best curry I've ever had.

was about an hour late,,even after receiving message that driver was on his way,had to phone restaurant, to be told driver had just left..this has happened a couple of times now..I've used Eastern Spices for many years...very disappointed

Order was wrong, got one chicken korma and one lamb korma instead of 2 lamb kormas, the garlic naan was cold and the order was over 40 minutes late

Lamb dish tasted very poor, sauce was heavy like it was from a jar. Meat was chewy.

Super friendly staff called to confirm address since i entered it wrong :) tasty Indian spread. Decent delivery time (in-line with estimate). The spicy things aren’t too spicy and the cucumber raita and chicken korma have a bit of unexpected sweetness. Lamb Karai tender and wonderfully spiced, yummy Tarka Dal. Happy we chose Eastern spices was a great choice for Christmas Day dinner

Ordered chicken tikka dishes but it was just normal chicken, Murgh Shajani had no green chillies in it. Disappointed by the quality plus it was 30 minutes late. Won’t be going back

Spicy onions not good, just sliced white onion with Chilli powder or similar spice, chicken Tikka masalam sauce too thick. Apart from this food very tasty and satisfyingly good.

Took nearly 2 hours for a biryani and starter to come. King prawn starter looked more like normal prawns and I called to have a plain lamb biryani and it didn’t come plain

It was really cold due to the delay in the delivery.

Put order in at 6.33, as it was a birthday treat to a friend but the food arrived at 9.15. Very disappointed to say the least!

Biryani missing the sauce usually provided with it. Food was hot and fresh though despite having arrived 20 mins late. Still good but not perfect!

We had a takeaway with a friend, the food was just poor, the poppodoms was a shambles. The boss just ignored us. Avoid.

Must be a new chef on board, the GHL has an improved taste, was spicerer last week than tonight. Keep up the good work guys, please add the green chillies to the GHL as a standard because it massively improves the taste experience.🤙

Food was luke warm, chicken dry as a bone and they left nan bread out of order. When I called to make sure I would get refund for nan the man was insistent it has been sent and argued with me. Very unhappy. Still no refund.

Apparently I'm enjoying my food - I'm not. Status flipped to "Enjoy your food" at exactly the max time for estimated delivery (19:25), Been "On it's way" since 18:40. Just arrived now at 19:33. Clearly gaming the system and annoying a loyal customer of 20+ years. Very disappointed.

We got takeout from Eastern Spices and were not disappointed! Fresh, warm, and seemingly authentic— we would definitely come here again.

Overall, a positive experience - delicious food, great portion sizes, and great value; I will be ordering again. However, the order arrived an hour after the anticipated delivery, which was not the best start. I also found some of the meat to seemingly be undercooked, which I don't say lightly. I was left disappointed by my order this time.

The food was cold when it arrived & was late, for the price the quality of the saag aloo was poor. Disappointing.

Would have been a nice meal if the prawn garlic & chilli prawn was prawns & not tiny over cooked rubbery shrimp & stale slices of garlic & , I got the order far to quickly it was not fresh & was definitely reheated & wasn’t fresh , also it was only half a portion of prawn & chilli garlic, usually myself & one other can half a meal but this wasn’t a full portion.

We have been loyal customers to the restaurant and told many friends it is the best in Edinburgh. Today will be our LAST order after the delivery "man" was disgustingly abusive and aggressive to my wife. They are lucky we chose not to get the police involved. We have been left disappointed and angry.

It seems the portion size of the saag dal has shrunk and are using smaller containers. The container had it's lid off when arrived and so food was exposed.

Would be great if the curry was packed last and on top of the order rather than having to eat curry out of the bottom of the bag....

The food was really delicious but we were a bit disappointed by the poppadom. It was literally one poppadom for a pound. Most restaurants give you free poppadoms with complimentary sauces. I would still order here but would maybe go for naan bread instead...

Some of the best quality and tastiest food I've had. The portions of meat are just right as well. Strongly recommended.

Some dishes good but veggie options typically poor. Would have been ok but not even warm enough.

Main dishes lovely and came with 3 additional small sides which was a bonus. Was only expecting one! Wish the rice hadn't been as dry but still had good flavour. Will order here again
