Excellent food. Not too expensive

Firstly, the food was absolutely delicious. So fresh and full of flavour, it all came out really fast and piping hot. Amazing food! The service was fab, nothing was too much trouble. We were there for a birthday and bought a little cake in and the staff lit candles and bought it out with ice cream for us and sang happy birthday. To top it off, I lost my ring through the night and called, speaking to Ian, I left my number in case it showed up and within 5 minutes he called back to say they found it in the bathroom. I was over the moon. I love Rama Thai, have been many times, and will be back many more times too! Lovely restaurant!

I’m leaving a negative review simply because this restaurant was closed to order a takeaway at 9pm when it clearly advertised on google and the website as being open till ten. If I’d known it would be closed at nine I would have planned differently. Annoyingly I can’t comment on the food !

Tasty food, super speedy and efficient service and accommodating. My only thing is larger portion sizes of their tasty food - but still a good place to go for for a Thai dinner

Very good Thai food here. We came for dinner and left fully satisfied. The green curry , pad Thai were fantastic. Have to mention the staffs are friendly and welcoming.

The place is shut in Monday whereas it says open on Monday. Weird. Disappointing not to be able to try the food.

A short birthday break to Dundee and a chance to eat in this lovely restaurant we discovered last June. First class food, would recommend chefs special option 1, amazing!! Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Hope to visit again!!

Our friends took us here for lunch and I'm glad they did. The food was excellent and full of flavour. Service was impeccable and the red wine was perfect. If you are in the area do yourself a favour and drop in here,you won't be disappointed. I should have took a photo but we all were enjoying our lunch so much we had finished it ☺️

What a fest😊 I think the best Thai restaurant I have ever been. Fresh food and ingredients. The food tasting delicious. Tom yum soup made from scratch not paste. I am gluten free and dairy free. No problems at all to allocate that. I can't recommend it more. Just eat!

First time visiting a Thai restaurant since being in Thailand, and it didn’t disappoint. All food was great, massaman curry was to die for. Service good and prices reasonable.

First time to the Rama. The food was excellent along with the service. Waiters and waitresses were pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The surprising thing was the price. Really good value for the quality of the food. Definitely be visiting again when I'm back in this neck of the woods.

Food was abysmal at lunchtime. Though they had a reduced menu. No spice. No Thai flavour. Friendly service though, but could not make up for food. Very disappointing.

Whenever I visit Dundee I make sure to eat at Rama. Beautifully prepared Thai food, served by helpful and friendly staff. So many great dishes it's impossible to pick a favourite. Best to reserve a table in advance as it's often fully booked, particularly at weekends.

Hadn't tried Thai food before but I'm so glad I did. Plenty of choice and all well explained in the menu. Will definitely be back soon to try more dishes.

First ever visit here and we Loved it, food was exceptional and could not fault our dinner. We had a Prawn pad Thai and the meal that was combination 1 this included a beef massaman curry, cocunut rice, and chicken, we shared both dishes. Highly recommend a visit here

If you in dundee and want Thai foods, this the place you can go. The taste good but no great, but the portion to small. For the Tom Youm they cook very well.

Lovely Thai food, served by helpful staff who were really knowledge when I came to my lactose intolerance. All food was hot and fresh, we really enjoyed the meal. Rice portions very generous - one portion was plenty for the two of us.

Visited last night whilst in Dundee. Me and my wife are lovers of Thai cuisine and this is up there with some of the best we've had outside of Thailand. We did see a review before we visited saying the service was slow. I'm not sure where that came from, as it's some of the fastest service we've ever received. Brilliant food and fast, friendly service. Great choice of Asian beers too. We will definitely be back if we're in the area.

The best Thai food in Dundee and surrounding area. Tasty, authentic and a great selection of traditional Thai cuisine. The service is always brilliant and there to help if your not too sure what to order. Too many favourites to mention but the tempura prawn are a must and make sure you get noodles and coconut rice with your main. Can't wait to go back.

Really great authentic eater, short waiting times and very friendly and super attentive service. Our six-year-old son was well looked after!

I'm not a Tai food lover by any means, only went as it was a family meal and it's not anything I would go out of my way to eat, that said the Restaurant is nice enough, service was fast, and the food I got was good but it's nothing I would rush back too, maybe I need to expand my Tai food palette but that won't be happening anytime soon, the whole family ate their food but same as me never thought ooh can't wait to be back.

This is the best Thai in Scotland! Amazing variety of food on the menu and every single meal we've had has been amazing. I particularly love how practically any of the options can be made vegetarian or vegan, the chef must be very talented. The staff are also lovely - I can't recommend enough especially if you're in or near Dundee.

Visited 04/08/2024 with my husband on our first night in Dundee. The place was very busy but we were shown to a table almost straight away. We had spring rolls and chicken fritters to start with a sweet chilli dip which were tasty. The main meal was really lovely and flavoursome. I had Salmon fillets with a red curry sauce, veg and rice. My husband had the Red Thai Chicken Curry and rice. The food was so filling I couldn't finish a drink I had afterwards. I would highly recommend the restaurant for food and service.

Looked for a place near the hotel, very happy to find the Rama Thai. Service excellent, food fantastic. 10/10 would definitely go again

First time at Rama in a number of years the food hasn't changed much still a solid choice in Dundee, the pad thai was fragrant and presented well although I personally thought it was overcooked, the curry was delicious creamy and full of flavour, all in the food was ok and price was not over the odds.

Came on a weekday evening for food. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and the portion size was just right (and by that I mean don't expect to have any leftovers for a doggy bag)! I had pad thai and it was the best one I've ever had. The furniture is beautiful - Ornate and sturdy. The toilets were clean. The lady who served us wasn't very welcoming.

Should have booked but despite being almost full managed to get a table for two. Tempura batter on veg starter quite heavy but our main was excellent. A long wait for the bill but would return

Delicious Thai food, restaurant is decorated just like you would find a restaurant in Thailand, the owners are friendly and staff very helpful.

Had the red curry with chicken.. delicious ! Plenty of meat and tasty curry but could have done with more veg (probably enough for most people). Note: rice is ordered separately 🍚 Nice decor with lots of Thai ornamentation. Knocked down a star for service as my main server never cracked a smile. They checked on me but asked to remove my plate a bit too early. A bit pricy but not compared to other Thai restaurants in Scotland. Worth coming for lunch as advertising 1 course £6.95 and 2 for a bit more. Would still return/recommend as the food seemed good (from what I tried) and got busy at peak dinner time (was less busy when I arrived around 5pm).

This was a take away order. It was very nice and hot when we got it home. Reasonable price too. They don't deliver.

Was in the city and looking for a dinner location with colleagues and saw this on Google and thought we would give it a try. Managed to get a table as very busy for a Monday evening. Food was delicious, great choice and very good value. All cooked fresh and pipping hot. Would come back when we are back in the city

This was our first coming to Rama and could not be happier with out meal, the food was outstanding in all ways, presentation and taste the whole experience was fantastic! Honestly thought it would have been more expensive but surprisingly reasonable. Definitely now my favourite restaurant in Dundee

Visited here for dinner and we were pretty impressed. First note- it gets busy! 6pm on a Saturday in March and fully booked for the night (and others were also turned away while we were there) so call at least the day before to book. Saving grace- they do takeaway too (staff didn't advertise this as an option, we remembered it from website)- about a 30 minute wait from order to food ready and don't forget to ask for cutlery! Food itself was very yummy! Good portion sizes and lots of flavour for sweet and sour king prawns/veggies in soy sauce/ rice. Also impressed that there was lots of sauce too which helped. Although we didn't dine in, the decor seemed nice and the staff were friendly!

I am normally don't going out much for Thai food because I am original from Thailand so I can cook by myself but for now I am not well so can't be bothered to cook & I lost my taste too so I happy to go to get my Thai food in Rama Thai Dundee me ,my husband & my stepson and his girlfriend daughter came visit us so we are really enjoyed food and atmosphere very much so I recommend people who not sure to find somewhere to eat please try Rama Thai

Went with friends for lunch. The first time this year, I had chicken & coconut soup, Thai green curry followed by the banana fritters, all washed down with beer, the ladies had a very fruity white wine We all loved our meal, fast service, Ian, the owner was very attentive, and the cost was very reasonable

Extremely disappointing. Our first visit to Rama. We regularly have Thai food and these were certainly the worst Thai meals we've ever had. Lacking in flavour. The restaurant is lovely. Comfortable and attractive. Good to see that there's a choice of having a craft ale instead of the usual lagers on offer but the food lets the place down.

Great food, great quick service. No complaints

The staff were really amenable, as we turned up without a booking and they managed to find us a table. One of our meals was a beef dish with rice noodles, which was so hot with chilli that it was unpleasant. The other dish was a vegetarian egg noodles dish,which was supposed to be delicately spiced,so I asked them to add chilli. I've never had tasteless Thai food before, but somehow, they managed it. I mentioned it to the staff, who apologised, but it was very disappointing.

Did not enjoy our meal there. First of all we ordered a bottle of beer at £4. It wasn't opened or poured in front of us and when we tasted it it was completely flat (no gas). Went up to the counter and the manager told us we would have to pay for a second bottle if we didn't like it. My starter was soup, and the mushrooms were raw. Main course was cold. Good job it wasn't expensive but still would not come back.

My wife and I made our first visit to Rama today for lunch and will be back as soon as we can. Food was so delicious, served promptly, despite being very busy (Sat lunch), staff v pleasant, interesting decor. And all at a surprisingly low price. Most impressed!

Absolutely excellent food. Good prices and good size portions which taste absolutely amazing. If you want really good Thai food, then this is the place to go. Most definitely will be going back again. The staff are great too. Highly recommended the panang .

Had a full-course dinner at the restaurant. Though the seating arrangement was a bit congested, but the room was cozy. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious, especially the chicken and prawn dishes. For dessert, I had Banana Fritters, which was really good.

The corn soup and spring rolls were refreshing and delicious. The noodles was good but the massaman curry and jasmine rice was spectacular. The service was kind and polite, a lovely restaurant in Dundee.

the best place! we arrived and were told the power had gone down and they weren’t sure if they were going to be able to serve food or not, we stayed and waited about 15 minutes before the power went back on and we were able to order. while we waited, the server brought down complimentary crackers and took our drinks order. the food was absolutely incredible! probably the best i’ve had in dundee since i moved here 2 years ago. it was so filling as well and really well priced! really recommend the prawn starter wrapped in puff pastry and the chicken satay😍 the service was amazing, servers so attentive and kind. the main man was so friendly and even took 25% off our bill and gave us free icecream at the end for the ‘trouble’ which really was nothing and 100% worth the extra little wait. definitely planning on returning and can’t recommend enough🤍

The food that we had was delicious and as close to Thai food as is possible in the UK. We felt that the atmosphere within the restaurant needs to be addressed. We felt it was a bit bright and some low light would add to the ambience especially for evening dining. It could also do with some music that could be heard. Apparently the music was on but could not be heard. It was really busy, and we suggest booking a table. The staff were really friendly and added to our enjoyment of the experience.

Poor customer service from the staff as soon as we walked in. Ignored by the waiter who appeared to be uninterested. Food was poor for a lunch menu. Unfortunately couldn't complain as my daughter was treating us..

There were 6 of us, all in for a quick bite to eat before a meeting we were attending, we were well looked after, our drinks and food were served fairly quickly which suited us, and apart from one rice dish being wrong, the food was delicious and plentiful. Staff very friendly and even recommended we put a ticket on our cars even though it was Sunday evening, which we did. Beautiful decor inside and looking forward to going again when I can relax more and enjoy the experience.

Went there on a sunday night for dinner. We wanted to book a table but our call didn't go through. We arrived at the place and it was busy. The food was ok, i wished it was spicier. I ordered the vegetarian tomyum soup and it tasted bland.
