Bangkok Thai Takeaway in Dundee City

The Pad Thai dish was definitely not the vibe. Was told most popular option, popular for being Terrible? I'd agree if that was the case but unfortunately person at counter decieved us and recommended that monstrosity. ONLY 5 PRAWNS were in the small container of 'food'. Worst place to eat in Dundee. Not epic at all.

As far as Thai food goes from the UK this is what you’re after. Everything was just where you wanted it to be flavours watering your mouth. Fantastic

Our favourite family takeaway. We love beef, chicken and tofu dishes. Never have been disappointed by a meal here. Recommend the Thai curries & cashew curry.

Very good, wife is missing food from back home in Thailand, and decided to give here a go. She said the yum was better than some restaurants back in Bangkok. Will definitely order again. Deliverey guy good also.

I love this place I only wish they would come as far as Longforgan on just eat. Cause if they did I would order alot more. As I would come out of pub and place a order. Please come to Longforgan using just eat

Shocked at how poor the food was. Ordered a meal for two at £25 . The soup had one mushroom and two prawns. Thai fish cakes were the the diameter of two 50p pieces. Main course trays were half full , again disappointing number of prawn (4 in total) and rice was hard. Would honestly say if we hadn’t lived so far away I would have taken the food back. First and last time to order food from here.

Edit: unfortunately portions got smaller & higher prices, quality suffered a bit too. The BEST Thai I had in Dundee. The food is like eating out in Thailand, so authentic! As a Thai person I approve.

Tasty but I got severe food poisoning from Pad See Ewe Pork while my friend who ordered Pad Kee Moaw Tofu was fine. Maybe check your protein source and storage?

I love this place. The food is authentic and delicious. There is a great variety of dishes to choose from with very affordable price and large portion. I wish they open another one in St Andrews, there's nothing as good here that I've found.

Absolutely lovely food...I had the seafood salad and the starter salad...go website you will see it but cannot remember name....both very authentic and delicious...would definitely.order from next time in Dundee

We ordered a delivery and the chicken dish had a long dark hair through it , the chicken was very rubbery in texture and no Thai flavours what’s so ever in any of the dishes. I think it’s more a Chinese restaurant offering Thai dishes.

The pad Thai and spring rolls were very nice

Decided to give Bankok Thai a go and it was class. Chicken Green Curry was brilliant and the coconut rice was bangtastic. Went with the set meal 'A' so it came with spring rolls and some kind of chilli vinegar, also banging. So good I went back and got a menu for next time. 10/10 would smash again 👍

Pad Thai tasted really bad, like it had ketchup mixed through it. Not a nice experience

Ordered from this local Thai for the first time. 3 meat eaters and 1 vegetarian and as we always do we ordered a few dishes to share with the meat on the side. We called directly to ensure that the order could be confirmed over the phone, and would be correct. On arriving the take-away wasn’t ready but took about 5/10 minutes to be brought outside. When we got home, we realised shortly into eating that both curries and the Pad Thai had chicken through them, even though the dishes we had asked for with no chicken had the chicken served separately in dishes on the side. One of the curries had tiny bits of chicken at the bottom which indicated that the chicken had been picked out where they could see it. After contacting the takeaway and having a conversation with Briar, who was incredibly helpful and understanding we agreed to a refund and left it at that. Unfortunately after this an hour or so later we received a phone call from a different member of staff, the supervisor, who stated that a refund was not being given because it was a customer error for not stating we had 1 vegetarian. On their website it stated only allergies must be declared but having clarified with the order we thought that would be enough. Within the phone call the manner of the call dipped and the tone completely changed with the supervisor being arrogant, sarcastic and incredibly rude. There was no customer service at all and at points he actually laughed down the phone. At one point he asked us to take the food back 2 hours later after 9pm because ‘you take things back to the supermarkets’. The issue here was the food for the rest of our party was actually enjoyable but the level of customer service endured after was offensive. This was not a case of the customer is always right but the supervisor refusing to do anything and that was HIS conclusion is poor and frankly not acceptable in the world of customer service. I won’t even go into the fact that he started to tell me about how bad his day had been when I asked him why he was so defensive because at the end of the day his total lack of professionalism was clear and shocking. I just hope if people order from here they have no issues with their order because if you do there will be no resolution and I’m sure the supervisor, who refused to share his name, will be just as unpleasant and rude to you on the phone. I’m actually find it frustrating to write this review as being from a hospitality and customer service background we always support and recommend businesses but this was too much to ignore.

Great food with a wide menu choice. Lots of different flavours and varieties of meals to buy including a wide range of starters and desserts as well as mains! Definitely worth a try!

First time we've ordered from Bangkok and it was amazing - we'll definitely be ordering again! The food was really fresh and the veg had a lovely bite to it!

Curries are absolutely delicious

Simply put this is the best Thai food I've ever eaten. Plus, the portions are generous, the pricing is great, and the staff are warm and friendly. I've eaten here once per week, if not more, since they've been open and every meal was excellent.

Despite having a very vast menu with many meals intending to have rich authentic flavour, this was sadly not the case. Chicken spring rolls were your average, crispy coating was the only thing going for them. Asked for chicken in garlic and got beef that certainly had no garlic( watery moist beef with 2 lashings of coriander). 2 chicken 'stir fried dishes' again staying they would have spices and Thai fragrant ingredients. Resulted in pale chicken in a dishwasher type translucent sauce. Absolutely not 1 shred of flavour. Sadly I've had better takeaways in the pits of Dundee. I'd like to think as a Perth road establishment competing with so many other restaurants they would give a little more heart and AUTHENTICITY into their apparent ' Thai' takeaway. Disappointed.

First time ordering from Bangkok Thai take away and it was a pleasant surprise. Fresh, fragrant and super tasty. Decent speed of delivery from a friendly driver. Website was very easy to order through. Went for the vegetarian meal for two. It was good value and perfect portion sizes for two people. Look forward to trying more things from the menu!!
