Had Pad Se Ew noodles, (my favourite but often underwhelming at other places). So yummy, good serving size especially for £9.95! My last proper meal before 2 days of travel, definitely made the right choice.

One of the best Thai restaurants I've been in my life, the food was amazing! I recommend the Tom Ka Ghai soup and the pork dim sum, as well as the Pad Thai. It's a small place, but pretty cozy and I think the prices are reasonable, specially for Edinburgh.

The chicken satay and the fish cakes were very succulent and delicious, would also reccomend the pad thai prawn as the prawns are very big and succulent

From the first contact with the restaurant we had great communication, all our needs were attended to as we were a group of 16. Nothing was to much bother. On the night the food was very good and we had great service from Fon and her staff. We will be back.

I really wish I was here to review the food, but sadly the terrible experience overshadowed the food. My husband and I decided to have a spontaneous night out to end our holiday and had been wanting to try Blue Rapa for a while. I was delighted when I called at 4pm on Saturday and was able to get a table for 7.30pm at such short notice. When we arrived the place was empty and there were some birthday banners up at some tables across from us. I should point out that the place is really small, only sitting 30 covers. We ordered our food, and the server said to us there's a party in tonight, I hope they're not too loud for you. Loud is an understatement. Shortly after this, the party started to arrive and as it turns out they made up the other 28 covers. So there was me and my husband in this tiny restaurant with 28 extremely loud and excited people all there to celebrate a friends 60th. We quite literally scoffed the food as quick as we could so we could leave, we couldn't talk to each other as we couldn't hear anything above the noise of the party. Eating out is about the experience for us as well as the food, and this experience was truly awful. The restaurant should not have booked a cover of two people when the remainder of the place was booked out, in my opinion, that's just greed. They also had a cheek to add a 10% service charge onto the bill, which we refused to pay. When we explained why (through shouting so the server could hear us) she said, I'm sorry, we should have told you when you called to book. So why didn't you!!! I feel really disappointed with Blue Rapa and not sure I would return again on the basis that they chose to book the table knowing there was a large group booking and surely they would or should have known the impact this would have given the size of the place. Again, in my opinion, putting profit over the customers experience.

This was a take out order so this review is from that perspective. The food was above average and the prices were very good. They are not the 20-30£ that google says they are. More like 10-20£. The dining area looked small but they had a party going on, so it could look small because of that. I would order take out here again for sure.

Took my family here after dining here many times before with my work team. We have always l had a lovely meal. Food is absolutely delicious. My husband said that Pad Thai was the best he’s ever had (and has had a few). All around a great experience. Lovely staff. Buzzing little place. Would highly recommend xxxxx

Ate here 07/07/24. The food was excellent and piping hot. The service was perfect. If you like Thai food then I highly recommend this restaurant/takeaway. I can honestly say this was the best Thai food I’ve eaten bar none.

Would highly recommend this amazing family owned restaurant! Food was incredible, the wild garlic dumplings, steamed dim sum, laab moo salad and seabass were particularly amazing and worth ordering. Our waitress Sunisa was friendly and the service was welcoming and speedy, definitely a restaurant to visit if you're in Haymarket!

The good here is amazing. There are not much table if sit it. The minus point is take away order wait wee bit longer, can bring your own drink.

Found this gem of a restaurant years ago by chance and have been many times since. Last night we celebrated our daughter’s 18th birthday with family and friends ( party of 14) The service was excellent the food was out of this world, hot and fresh. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends. If you haven’t been you are missing out!! Fon (owner) and staff couldn’t be more friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to returning soon

Stumbled upon this diamond of a restaurant on Saturday night, and very lucky to get a table....food was amazing flavours were divine.....dont forget to bring your own alcohol, there is an M&S store 3 mins away if you forget. This restaurant is well worth a visit !!

The Food and service were absolutely fantastic. There is not really much more to say. You simply must go. Businesses like this deserve to thrive.

Not been in for a few years but on this stay back in the Capital decided to book a table as we remember how good it was on our last visit and have to say it was again another fantastic visit with first class service and tasty food. So we had another establishment cancel our reservation at the last minute and we stopped in here and they were very accommodating. Food was amazing and definitely the best Thai food I have had in a very long time. Authentic taste and we loved the variety of starters and main meals. Staff are very very good and food is served in a timely manner. Such a nice cosy place but it adds to the experience. If your ever in Edinburgh I would recommend a visit to this amazing little gem of a restaurant,

Not really traditional Thia very tatsless

We were in Edinburgh for the Fringe and passed this restaurant after our show. We had ribs and chicken satay to start, the food was lovely and fresh and quite large portions. We then had sweet & sour chicken, the batter was light & crispy, and chicken penang which was very tasty too! The service was excellent and the restaurant was busy with people eating in and collecting takeaways. We are glad we came across this restaurant and would recommend it!

Great food and service from Tata and byob which is a bonus at £2.50 pp we shares veg spring rolls and i had the pad thai and my other half had a thai green curry with chicken. Complementary prawn crackers

La devanture est vétuste et peu engageante et pourtant, ne vous y trompez pas, les plats sont sensationnels. Une femme évolue derrière les fourneaux et vous surprendra par sa cuisine fine, succulente et traditionnelle! Mention spéciale à la serveuse qui a eu la délicatesse demander à la cuisinière de séparer les piments du reste des plats pour que nos enfants puissent goûter à tout. Je pense qu’après mon passage dans ce restaurant, tous les autres me sembleront probablement fades en comparaison. Une pépite au cœur d’Edimbourg. Je recommande particulièrement la salade de bœuf tiède à la coriandre! Et n’hésitez pas goûter leur dessert de bananes vapeur au lait de coco chaud et graines de sésame. Un chef d’œuvre! Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.

First time visiting last night food and service was excellent will definitely be back

One of our favourite restaurants in Edinburgh, for the quality of the food and BYOB. Tonight, there was a large group of youngsters (12-15) drinking buckfast (.. look it up), being rowdy. But even if it wasn’t for that, we felt let down by the meal itself, for the first time, so we thought they should know. The quality of the chicken in satay starter was dubious, with a strange texture, the noodles were chopped into small strands and lacked in flavour / no seasoning (tasted like wet socks). While the massaman chicken was its usual fantastic self (still can’t be beaten!), the chicken green curry was lacking intensity with an overly watery sauce, and the sliced chicken was more like turkey. Shame, as it’s normally spot on.

We thought we'd order a takeaway after a long weekend in the city, the pad Thai, salt and pepper chips and the sweet and sour chicken were so nice! The sweet and sour chicken was of high quality and the batter wasn't to thick, not greasy like some other takeaways!

Staff make your dining requests with all these amazing dishes and you can bring your own drinks. All well worth the visit and share the experience family and friends to encourage them to go and see a d taste for your self

Great little find just 5 mins from Haymarket Station. It's a BYOB restaurant too, with £2.50 corkage pp. It's a small restaurant, so recommend booking a table. Will definitely return when back in Edinburgh

It’s been a while since we last visited but the quality of food and service was as excellent as it has been in the past. Will try to return sooner but in the meantime we’ll continue to recommend Blurapa to all our friends. If you’ve not been before then try it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Great BYOB restaurant near Haymarket. Handy for meeting friends from the station. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Service is friendly and you are never rushed. Go back continually with previous and new guests. Everyone we take really enjoys it.

Went in for a quick bite to eat at 7pm, the lady found us a table, but it was reserved from 8pm, as we were just looking for a quick dinner… it was perfect for us. The ladies serving were all so lovely and welcoming, took the time to go through different dishes, and made a change to something my friend didn’t like. I had the chicken garlic stir fry, and it was excellent, very tasty and a great level of spice, will definitely eat here again (but will book).

we got takeaway tonight and it was perfect. really delicious and amazing prices. we got a green curry, duck spring rolls, phadthai and fried rice. the restaurant itself is very small and welcoming and would’ve been nice to eat in as well.

Not a great venue, Not a great street but what food! Crispy corn and sweet potato fritters spicy beef salads, pate thai, wonderful curries particularly the penang...just fab food. Bring your own booze. Good service. Fresh cooked to order and great value. What's not to like!!

Yummy and friendly with v reasonable prices 🍜 we have eaten here almost weekly for about 5 years (that’s how good it is) and never had a bad meal- menu is compact but includes everything you want/need. BYOB option for those that want it!

Disappointed. Spoiled by noisy customers at two sides of this small restaurant. Could hardly hear ourselves speak. Food was good but a bit more chicken would have been appreciated. Regulars at a table for two commented that they have never heard it so noisy before. A pity the management did not have a quiet word and ask them all to tone down the racket !!!

Very disappointed by this restaurant tonight. It was full but unfortunately had two large parties of adults who cared for no one but themselves! It was as if one table was trying to shout louder than the other. The management did nothing to quieten either...

Had supper here, was really nice. Sweetcorn cakes to start, pad Thai and cashew nut stir fry main courses were all delicious. Very friendly staff too would recommend a visit!

Really delicious Thai food!! We had 4 different dishes and everything was so great. The restaurant is small, around 10 tables, but definitely worth it if you have to wait. The service was good, but our meals came out at times spread very far apart. Some were done eating before offers got their plate. Overall friendly service and great food.

I have been really struggling with missing food from home (usa). Ive been especially missing Thai food ( i have thai family that used to cook for me often as a child). Ive ordered from a dozen places and most have seemd to do some kind of asian fusion and not the bangkok thai food i am used to. But on Friday I found Bluerepa and it taste just like my aunt Siri’s food. I literally cried. I am going to be going back to this place all the time

We are big lovers of thai food, lived in Thailand too and unfortunately it was rather disappointing. The duck in salad was very overcooked, you could break your teeth trying to eat it. Obviously we were told that this was the chef's approach, so it's more of a signature than a fault. Not an enjoyable one though! Soup was full of mushrooms, i would say they took up at least a half of a space of a plate. So a few spoonfuls of stock and all you have left in your plate is a pile of champignons. Beef curry was tasty but overall it was far below what we expected. Staff was very nice.

Tasty, fresh food with friendly and helpful service. We had a soup each, shared a platter starter, a meal each and shared a sticky rice. It's bring your own beer, so the bill was only £53.

Who cares about what the venue looks like or the service? Get a grip! The food is excellent and that is all that matters to me. Staff are lovely too and will get food out as quick as they can cook it. If you want mass market, tasteless and quick go to wagas.
