Business meal on a Friday evening. Great service food nice, prices reasonable. Enjoyed the jungle curry and mixed starter.

Food was not of good standard. It was bland. Needed more flavour for a Thai restaurant. We were rather disappointed. I can in fact cook a better satay following a BBC food recipy at home. That I felt should not be the case when I visited a Thai restaurant. Stir fries were ok but I had much better. In the other hand, staff was very pleasant.

This is a good Thai restaurant, offering a classic menu that is well presented and full of the authentic Thai flavours. Very polite service. An excellent meal

Staff are very attentive and the menu is extensive. Food is fab.

Probably one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever visited. Truly authentic Thai food, they had such a great variety of options for every type of Thai food it was insane. My husband and I ordered extra food because it was THAT good, and worth getting stuffed for. Highly recommend the Mun Tod (54)

Duck panang was amazing. Chicken satay was average with sauce not very tasty. The stir fried beef was almost inedible as it was tough, rubbery and had grissle. Personally I would never serve that. Same issue a few years ago too. Shame

We were a relatively big group, 7 adults, they made sure to find a nice table for us, service was on spot and very warm with water for free and everyone was very pleased from duck curry to vegan stir-fry. Awesome restaurant

Location wise it's good and easy to find, right in middle of city and near to tram/bus stops. Atmosphere was good-nicely decorated and service was also good. Staff were polite, warm and kept refilling my glass of water without me asking. We didn't pre book table but they kindly accomodated us. But we were disappointed with the food and lacked flavours.

My family loved it and so did I. I totally recommend this food ! It has amazing food , service and atmosphere. Kudos to the staff and thank you for your service. ❤️😊

Had takeaway...surprisingly decent size portions. Rice a bit small and no papaya in salad. Tasted great though.

Service was impeccable. We went on a Sunday evening so the restaurant was quiet but the server we had was so attentive. Everything was clean and fresh, no smell of cooking in the dining room. Staff were so polite and helpful. Food was good, if a tad on the greasy side, but still great authentic flavours. Would come again for hospitality alone!

Love the Grabeoung Talay, delicious. Pad Kee Mao very salty but otherwise good. Phuket Fried Rice unremarkable.

Called in on the off chance of a table, we were not disappointed, waitress was very helpful and the food came quite quickly. Very nice and would come back again

Some food was OK, but the hygiene and service were absolutely disappointing. I ordered the mix starter, but there was black hair on the chicken BBQ, which made me feel bad. When I asked the waiter, she said it was my hair ( my hair is caramel Brown). Also, the folk was not cleaned.

The restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel so we went in for dinner on our first trip to Edinburgh. The place was small, quaint and welcoming. We ordered the Stir Fry dinner. The meal arrived with a very attractive presentation, the flavour was excellent and our waitress was very pleasant. Would definitely return to this restaurant.

We had a great experience! The food was fresh and flavorful, the service warm and attentive and the central location was great!

Have been coming for years and have always recommended to friends. But sad to say it didn’t live up to expectations or even come close on most recent visit. None of the dishes we had really had the bang of flavour you expect from Thai dishes, hot dishes weren’t hot, the dish with basil didn’t pack any flavour and red curry was beige with no heat or zing. I hope it’s a blip or off night, but with so many other places to eat it’ll be hard to take a chance again.

We decided to get takeaway tonight. Green chicken curry and Penang Monk Fish, one steamed rice and one sticky rice. The Monk fish was soggy and hardly any of it, as for the steamed rice, it looked as if it had been in a microwave for 10 minutes, that sticky it stuck to the dish in a solid block! The chicken curry was ok, nothing special. For the pleasure of the terrible meal we paid £36 (takeaway). We have eaten in this restaurant for about 10 year's but definitely won't be back!

Delicious food and great service

Had a lovely meal for my wife's birthday. Food is always good and the service cant be faulted. They even surprised my wife with a birthday chocolate ice cream . Nice honest family restaurant. Worth the money to sit without being rushed and just enjoy the evening. Highly recommended.

My wife and I as well as many of our friends really love this place. It's been one of my favourite places to eat for many years. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. We always have the mixed starter set which comes with three types of dipping sauce. Jungle curry with duck is my absolute favourite main course. Really bursting with flavour and feels healthy as there's no coconut milk. Last night my wife had pan fried Sea Bass with red curry sauce, lime leaves and basil. I tried that and really liked enjoyed it. We have one rice and one soft noodle (Pad Mee) to share. Would recommend booking at weekends and especially if there's a show on at the nearby Playhouse theatre. The pre-theatre menu from 4.30-6.30 is very good value.

Very nice atmosphere, quiet Thai place with excellent service but number 47 was a bit bland ; I would personally recommend the money bags with a delicious sauce on the side. The red curry was delightfully red, p.s. that is my favourite colour 😜 would 100% recommend

I am Thai so take a word from me. This isn't authentic Thai. One thing I strongly suggest all the Thai restaurant owners to do is - if the menu described with certain ingredients then you should put them in, for example - Thai sweet basil. You shouldn't be hoping people would not notice. Nowadays, people DO travel and know their authentic food. It isn't hard to find sweet Thai basil. Make an effort or just remove it from the menu! We ordered 3 different dishes and all came out with the same based curry paste when they shouldn't. The only differences of the ingredients in our dishes were deep fried fish, mixed seafood and prawns but with the same sauce. I wouldn't had stepped my foot there if it wasn't because of my friend was so hungry and wanted Thai. Other places like Ting Thai caravan or Thailander can offer you food closer to authentic Thai.

We hadn't been to the phuket for a couple of years ,but we'll worth the wait the food is fantastic as are the staff

Ordered soup, watery and not much flavour. Tempura prawns were nice. Green curry very watery and lacking flavour. Coconut rice? The coconut was none existent. Crispy chicken wings, Not crispy, again, lacking in flavour. Quality of ingredients seemed cheap. I can make it better myself.

This was a third / return visit, over a few years. This time, dissapointing and not to the level of previous experiences. Food was bland, lacking in taste and short on meat content.

Amazing food and amazing service. I'm always sad when the staff take away a bottle of beer that still has 1/3 left to drink in it. Why do they do that? We weren't even finished the main course. So we left without ordering any desserts anyway.

After being at this restaurant several times we decided to get a delivery! Not sure if chef has changed but our Soups were so salty (I love salt) we couldn’t eat it and the main stir fry was tasteless and oily! Very disappointed!!!

The food is amazing and the service is quick and helpful. I had Panang Monkfish and chicken wings. Highly recommended and will go again!

Great place. Food was amazing and the portions are very generous. Staff were all lovely. Only mild complaint was it was quite cold in the restaurant. Will look forward to returning. Perfect location for a pre theatre meal.

Authentic Thai experienced . Food are well prepared and affordable. Very generous serving. Lot of choices to make. Staff are well mannered and graceful. It is worth visiting and dining - in in Edinburgh.

We first visited the restaurant by chance in summer 2011. It was a pleasant surprise to have excellent Thai food in Edinburgh. That and the warm service of the owners (a couple of farang husband and southerner Thai wife) made us visit two nights in a row. Ten years later our intended second visit in autumn 2022 turned out completely different. The place looks bigger but the foods went downhill to average westernized version that you can find everywhere. We were most disappointed by the unattentive and unfriendly service of the front lady. Don't know what happened to the lovely couple. What a disappointment.

Food was okay. Not amazing though. Had the red Thai curry and was the blandest I have ever had. Our finished plates were left on our table for ages afterwards which was annoying as would have had liked them removed and to be offered the dessert menu or if we wanted a tea/coffee..

Been here over the past 40yrs in Edinburgh. Very attentive customer service. Great food and ambience as well as very near the Playhouse and St Mary Cathedral RC.

Good authentic food served here and the decor of the restaurant Is beautiful. They have spacious seating arrangements too. The red Thai curry is a must try. I tried the Prawn option and it was so delicious. I also ordered the jungle curry, but didn’t like it. It has some bit of weird smell and taste. Possibly an over usage if the oyster sauce.

The service was great and we didn’t have to wait long. However it was cold in the restaurant, maybe a curtain would be great to cut the wind coming from the street. The food was ok but maybe a lack of taste for some food that we tried.

Lovely authentic Thai food with great service.

Food tasted OK (with the exception of the baby corn which had a strong flavour of canned preservative) though there wasn’t much tofu in my green curry with tofu. Atmosphere and service were fine. However I was violently ill for several hours after eating at this restaurant (and hadn’t eaten anything else) so I think they need to improve their food hygiene.

One of the best Thai restaurant so far. I am Thai and would say that the taste is so authentic!! Atmosphere and staff are so nice. And what i love the most is the food are served in the way Thai people actually do (food sharing). Big thump!

Excellent food when we visited on 27th May. Seems authentic and is very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very efficient service. Visited again with friends on 29th Oct 2022 for pre theatre menu. Food again was great with lots of vegetarian and vegan options, beautifully presented and very tasty. Service is always great with friendly and helpful staff.

Brilliant Thai restaurant, service unobtrusive and decent wine list. Thoroughly recommend the seafood platter starter and, if you like hot dishes, the jungle curry.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Edinburgh, with out a doubt, somewhere we regularly return, good flavour and value. Good Vegan options, although not extensive there are plenty to chose from. Service is great and the staff are very friendly.

Food is good but they ignored our allergies and tried to feed everyone what they were allergic too?!?!

Hadn't been for a while. Previously excellent, but food was bland and lacked that hot fragrant spice you expect from Thai food. Will be looking for an alternative next time.

The food here was delicious! I got a curry and an iced Thai tea, it was very flavorful and almost like a dessert.

Very dissapointing. Friend and I ordered different mains but both tasted horribly bland and meat was rubbery. Starters were stingy on the dipping sauces and just a waste of hard earned money which is sad as great location and restaurant layout very spacious, clean and classy.

The food is very good nice portions service was excellent until coming to pay, their card machine suddenly didn't work and my wife had to run round trying to find a hole in the wall to get cash, as we were going to the Theatre for 6.30pm andthis was 6.25pm!!! So be aware might a good idea to take some cash with as well..

I ordered a takeaway, half of which (soup and pad Thai) was bland and a bit tasteless, and the other half of which was delicious, and I would be very happy to order again. The som tum salad had a really good heat to it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The smoky mushrooms on skewers with satay sauce were lovely, and I'm glad I ordered two portions. The star of the meal was a stir fry of mixed mushrooms with cashews, which was superb. I really love mushrooms, and this dish showcased the very different textures of several different mushrooms, which made it really special. Portions were generous. Several of the main dishes on offer sounded really tasty, but were only available to order online with a choice of meat or seafood: I wish I could have ordered them as a vegetarian option.

Dining in, taking out or delivery - Phuket Pavilion never disappoints.

Absolutely top draw meal, had the 2 starter deal between 4.30 and 6.30 available on weekdays. Really lovely food, the thai green was exceptional and one of the nicest i have had. Definitely recommend to anyone in edinburgh 👍

Great variety of options, nice staff, really flavorful! I mean Thai food is all about the sweet, sour, and spicy and they have that. One thing is they I do wish there were spicy options.

We had the best experienced in Phuket Pavilion Thai Restaurant. Fantastic food and amazing customer service skills, friendly staff. We even have the opportunity to meet and greet the owner. Had a fantastic experience at this lovely family restaurant. The food was amazing, had such good flavours! And very reasonably priced! The venue is so clean (even the toilets) and decorative. My second visit to this lovely Thai restaurant. The food was amazing and staff are so friendly. We had the seafood mixed starter followed by weeping tiger steak and sea bass in Thai red curry, absolutely delicious.

I celebrated my son’s baptism at the Phuket Pavillion restaurant.The food was delicious, good service and friendly staff and the price very affordable and a great location. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Most of the food was just alright, but papaya salad not spicy at all, with peanuts, lime an fish sauce missing - overall it was the worst Tom Sam I've *ever* tried; waiting staff not particularly friendly or helpful. It was an average experience and we're unlikely to return

How can you make people pay £20 for 4 mussels, 2 prawns and 2 squid? Ordered on Uber Eats and will never do again as portion are way too small. It says it’s for 2 people but honestly not even for 1. What a shame.
