Invited to friend for take away fish and chips, long time clients of Skipjacks so phone order personally collected When unpacked and plated the the fish was perfect even after the 10 min journey the double fried chips didnt travel so well nevertheless very good

I ordered a haddock on arrival as they are cooked to order. It was about a 10min wait but worth it. It was also very busy. Another thing I liked was they put salt and vinegar on when I asked.

Absolutely beautiful food! The pork belly was delicious and the lamb was so tasty. And the deserts topped of a wonderful meal. My husband ordered the trout for a starter and steak for the main he said this was perfect.

Price was cheap, the chips were not salted at all, didn’t taste like there was any vinegar on it in the slightest either. The curry sauce id paid extra for was not sealed or even attempted to be sealed and leaked throughout the entire order not even three steps from the door. Pretty much ruined the rest of the order and lost half of the sauce to the bag. Staff didn’t seem interested at all and was really blunt, seemed like he was just trying to go home, still a while before close.

I’ve waited 6 weeks to write this review. It’s considered because I know Hospitality has been difficult since Covid. We went to this restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary - my partner had chosen it over other restaurants near us in Dorset. It was a fabulous stormy day with great views from the dining room. We were welcomed and given a perfect table - ‘sticky’ - but never mind it’s a big day! Had a lovely glass of English sparkling and then our starters arrived. Mine had congealed food on it, clearly left over from a previous service. The server did a double take too but decided to ignore it…and so did I. (I know that, at this point I should have said something but I just didn’t want to ruin our meal. And, by the way, I don’t think it should be up to the customer to complain, the staff should apologise and replace immediately.) We ordered another glass of wine which just didn’t turn up until we asked again at least 20 mins later. Small things are now accumulating... This is how an expensive meal goes from poor to pitiful. Our mains came (we didn’t mind that it was very slow - it was a Sunday and we were there to enjoy the moment). The additional vegetables were just rock hard. My fish had some unrecognisable ‘innards’ - not roe. We had fully intended to stay for pudding, coffee, dessert wine etc etc but we just looked at each other (30 years of dining out at great restaurants together) and decided to call it a day. We were so deflated… So disappointing. To the restaurant: please take notice of our comments. We want lovely restaurants to go to in Dorset - think about what you’re being told in good faith and up your game.

Originalmente me topé con Burger and Lobster en Harvey Nichols hace unos años y he visitado un par de veces desde entonces, además de ambos (tristemente ahora solo uno) lugares en Nueva York, así que conozco de primera mano el concepto, la calidad, la relación calidad-precio y la gran experiencia gastronómica que obtendría. ¡Estoy feliz de informar que estuvo a la altura de todas las expectativas! Visitamos por capricho un viernes por la tarde alrededor de las 6 pm. El lugar era rápido con un buen ambiente sin ser embestido. Rápidamente mostrado a nuestra mesa, hecho para sentirse bienvenido y pedidos tomados. Lo difícil para mí en be&L es decidir si elegir el combo de hamburguesa y langosta o el combo de hamburguesa y rollo de langosta. ¡Pero encontré una gran solución! Afortunadamente mi compañero de comedor pidió primero y fue por el combo de hamburguesa y langosta, pidiendo media langosta. Rápido como un flash sugerí ‘actualizar’ al máximo cesando mi oportunidad de disfrutar de media langosta yo mismo, mientras que fui por el combo de hamburguesa / rollo. Fue una sorpresa muy bienvenida cuando nos preguntaron si queríamos la hamburguesa ‘rosa’ que casi había renunciado a solicitar en establecimientos del Reino Unido. Con la adición de tocino y queso esta fue una hamburguesa de gran sabor (dejé la salsa de hamburguesa y pepinillo ya que no soy un fan) cocinada perfectamente. Rollo de langosta era todo lo que quería y la langosta que conseguí de mi compañero de comedor (hubiera preferido al vapor en lugar de a la parrilla, pero no estaba en posición! ) era simplemente encantador empapado en la salsa de mantequilla de ajo que puede su propio botecito. La bañé con una botella de cerveza lager suiza - una primicia para mí - y dejé una camper muy feliz y con una gran relación calidad-precio como siempre. Desafortunadamente no recibí el nombre de nuestros servidores, pero hizo un gran trabajo. Servicio atento, informativo, amigable y sin sobrecargarse. Uno negativo tomó una edad - más de 20 minutos para obtener la cuenta y finalmente pagar Vale la pena visitar este o cualquiera de sus establecimientos.

Iv been ordering here for over 5 years.. to be frank ever since new management took over this place hiked its prices and reduce portion sizes.. which is fine but the food quality went down the drain they changed the ingredients for cheaper options and full of oil and dont get me started on missing items! Example: I order the chicken tikka fries from them and the chicken was cold but the chips where warm.. thats not good surely! They are living on the previous management success it's as simple as that.. their days are numbered. Don't waste your hard earned money on a chance things have changed trust me.. you wait 2 hours for the delivery and get extra dispointed when you go to tuck in yuk.. They should be ashamed of themselfs boosting about winning xyz awards and provideing their loyal custom with such a horrible experience. Never again! Waste!

I have purchased from The Godfather previously, and loved the fish and chips, and got home before they got cold. Tonight however, I ordered via Just Eat. Paid at 1825...for 2 bits of cod, 1 chips. I onion rings. At 1950 I got the call from the delivery man...the fish and chips were swimming in oil and too cold to eat...the onion rings were hard and not edible I am very disappointed, in the Godfather and delivery. Not to mention throwing away good money

This Fish & Chip shop is under new management. We have been several times now and it is always perfect. The chips are amazing. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The portions are large too, so could share a large chips between two people but they are so good you may not want to!!!! The Fish is perfect every time. Again large size fish portions. The batter is just so light and crispy and melt in your mouth. The fish is beautifully cooked and its all served piping hot. Absolutely recommend the fish & chips. They offer kebabs and burgers as well but haven't tried these yet so can't comment on them.

It's ok food was freshly cooked

Chicken was very very dry. Skin was quite hard and tough. Haddock was lovely

Love the new menu! Recommended to anyone looking for a new chippy. Always fresh and great quality.
