Great chip shop and very good prices

Came up to visit my dad from Devon and we came here to get some fish and chips. He’s been multiple times and has never had a bad experience. We both got fish and chips and he got curry sauce and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t recommend this place more. The prices were good, not too expensive, and they cooked the fish for you pretty much on arrival. Jane, the lovely lady who served us, was helpful and went through all the options available and was so kind. I cannot recommend this place enough. Please come here if you’re ever in Shirley or live nearby!

Plaice was overcooked,dry and batter hard.

Easy parking at time of visit a Sunday at 6pm the food was good the staff very friendly and helpful- it can accommodate disability give them a try👍

Great food, prices well under local rivals but just as importantly friendly staff. Curry sauce is the best for miles too.

They always look after my old dad who is deaf and disabled - they remember that he struggles to hear, and bring his order out to the car. We had chips and batterless fish, it was nice. Chips portions are massive.

We had amazing battered sausage and chips today! Our first chippie for a long time and it was spot on! Loads of chips, and it was all tasty and hot. 🍟🌭

Went here for the first time the other day. Lovely friendly lady served us. I had a large cod(very large) portion of chips and 2 scollops. The fish and scollops were cooked fresh whilst I waited. The food was beautiful fresh and hot. Great portion sizes. Beautiful food. Great service and a very hygienic place. Will definitely be going back there again soon!

hi, yesterday evening me and my freinds visited and rated as many chip shops as we could. we rated them on quantity, quality and value for money. this shop won each category well done. as well as this your staff were so friendly. when my friend accidentally dropped a chip we were offered a whole new bag amazing service. well done me and my freinds

My daughter went into this shop to buy chicken and chips for her children. When my daughter opened the packet the chicken was more bone than meat. She paid £3.70 for basically chips. She showed the owner the chicken and asked for a refund. The owner broke up the hot chicken and put the hot food close to her face and shouted "This is chicken". I tried to reason with him as im a regular customer. I was quite surprised with his aggressive response towards me. He came across as a bully. We were told to leave the shop without a refund. The police were called. As a result i will not be returning to this shop. Do not go to this shop as the owner thinks it is ok to verbally abuse women. I would not even rate this chippy a 1 .

What a great chippy the fish is so fresh and tasty ,I bought fish chips and curry sauce and would recommend to all.there are 2 haslucks rd fish and chip shops make sure you go to the one near to the Co Op it lies back from the road and could easily be missed

I have been going to this place, regularly, for years and have nothing to complain about. The food is good and the staff are friendly. Since I was young batter has given me a headache. So I tend to avoid your average fish and chips shop. After mentioning this, they were more than happy to cook my fish without. I have the haddock, which is very good. After trying most of the menu. I can't find fault with the food or any of the people serving it.

Wonderful lady serving we arrived early and she allowed us to sit inside and while we had a friendly chat she cooked some of the loveliest chips I've ever had. ......they were golden, fluffy on the inside and crisp on the out so much better than other chippys in the area with their soggy, greasy green tipped offerings

Had fish and chips last night and the fish was disgusting, dried up and batter was rock hard so it was obviously an old piece not sold from earlier that day or previous day !! Over £5 for a piece of old fish they won’t get my business in future !!

Fantastic staff, food & owner. Word to the wise, bring cash as they don't except card which will benefit us as it enables the shop to keep the prices reasonable.

Had 2 wraps and a cone of chips from here with my girlfriend and we both loved it. Amazing service, polite staff always willing to chat with you. Definitely will be coming back!

Use this place regularly, to say the man who served us tonight was aggressive is an understatement. Needs a big lesson in how to talk to customers. Only use it because it’s close to home, back to Dovehouse Fish bar, far better food and customer service!

We absolutely love Station Fish bar. It is spotlessly clean and has excellent distancing and hygiene procedures in place. The food is always freshly cooked, piping hot and tasty. Excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and polite and work hard to get orders through quickly. Highly recommend.

Lovely local chippy, fab food ( they do specials like mini fish,chips & curry sauce for £4.30! ) Friendly people and they're applying all the social distancing measures properly, well worth a visit.

Donner meat very dry, with a crust?! Salad tasted like cheese. Not convinced. 10 bites and it went in the bin. Reviews by owner or staff dilute the actual reviews. Reviews with photos of perspectives you can't get without being behind counter. Id avoid in future. Last visit was 8 years ago, it's still sh**

Chips were really greasy, all clumped together and rock hard. Donner meat was so dry it was crispy and solid! Really disappointing!

I’ve only tried the battered sausage and it was in secret but it was tremendous and hopefully it’ll be the first of many and my parents won’t see this.

Highly recommend this chip shop, Fish is fresh, lovely customer service, always have a smile on their faces, always cook it fresh when I ask, no complaints at all definitely will come again.

I would highly not recommend this place to anyone pls ignore this place as the food quality is not upto the mark at all and the owner is so rude and also the kebab and chicken just is horrible. Very disappointed

Had a proper mixed bag : Chicken meat and chips, Large cod, Large battered sausage, Large chips, Large curry sauce. Everything was excellent as it always is.

So I usually go here after work and really enjoy the chicken meat, however, I went tonight (Wednesday 7th) at 10pm asked for 1 mixed meat and 1 chicken meat and salad (tried to charge me £2 for a salad even though I wasn't having chips) Once home we was disgusted at the minimal amount of food in the trays! the mixed meat didn't even fill the one half of the tray and the chicken meat only half filled the half of the tray the rest was salad!! wish they said they didn't have enough for the 2. the mixed meat was £4.80 and the chicken meat an salad was £5. the usual lady was not there only the man. fuming! what a waste of money!!

I keep saying I won't go back but I do. Chips were soggy and squeezed together in the paper. To add insult to injury when I got home the Chicken Kebab we had ordered was a DONNER KEBAB!!!

We live by the station fish bar in Shirley and thought we would try this chip shop to see if it was better . We had a fish Large chips 2 pieces of southern fried chicken Mushy peas Curry sauce The fish was not hot and had a bad after taste The chips were soggy and also had bad after taste The chicken was fairly good and tasted as it should Mushy peas tasted watered down and not full of flavour The curry sauce tasted as it should Overall not impressed and will not visit again Sea spray is probably the better option in Shirley or I may stick to the station as it’s usually very tasty .

It's not consistent. Sometimes the fish is good and other times not so good and that is when it's freshly cooked. It is the best in the area but all others are pretty poor. Can't help but compare it with down by the coast....

Traveling home with my lady and stopped by, the place was spotless so we ordered a cod and haddock with chips. The chef said it would be several minutes as they cook to order..no problem. When it came it was superb ,white flakey fish with a light crispy batter my partners haddock equally great and obviously cooked in fresh oil, the chips were crisp and tasty . 10/10 and being a chef I’m a fussy bugger. Shame we live too far away for a standing order.

Relived my student days! Had been in Birmingham for a club get together and had a plenty of "Ale". So what better when exiting tShirley station than kebab and chips to accompany up the hill home. Very tasty although a little greasy.

Was just passing and fancied fish and chips, the chips were hot and plentyfull and fish cooked to order so fresh and hot it all meant a little wait bit was worth waiting for

Hadn't been for a while as standard appeared to have fallen dramatically. However had food from here a couple of weeks ago and it was very good . Chicken kebabs excellent and good chips.

Sin embargo, la última vez que fuimos allí el pescado fresco cocinado a la parrilla estilo mediterráneo y me dijeron que estaban haciendo sin peces que camino, pero podríamos haber maltratado cod desde la sección "fish and chips". . . . . . . . . . . . . No mate, vinimos aquí porque es un restaurante mediterráneo. . . . . Si quiero, fuimos bacalao a otras 3 "fish and chips" del pasado para llegar aquí! !

He viajado últimos chipshops incluyendo el seaspray ir a éste. Fantástico pescado de calidad, incluso el Kebab de pollo es buena, no lleno de cosas, no he conseguido grasos para llegar hasta allí por un tiempo, pero la señora que sirve siempre felices y nos los niños lollypops

Frequent this chippy probably once a month, generally the food is up to scratch, the service however can be hit and miss especially if the chinese woman is working, she's rude and confuses all the other staff..she gets me stressed out just by watching her lol

Walked in my local chip shop with my family.. Looked up at the board to order, another man walked in behind us and "she" took his order first!! She didn't even acknowledge us at all!!! How rude! Crap food , crap service ... Never again! Hey.. The sea spray is only up the road!A long time wasted using my local chip shop.. No excuse for rudeness!!!
