obviously get their trade due to the location. rude disinterested landlady. no interaction at all and just stares at her phone. we gave it one last try after 3 or 4 visits but never again. If this bar was in any other location, very few would return. far better places to enjoy a drink in RHB. Such a shame.

We’ve been to fish cottage a few times and always had a great experience, but this time the service was very poor and the food very bland unimaginative and in all honesty ridiculous over priced and not what I expected from fish cottage, we ordered the scallop starter which to be honest wasn’t anything special, the we both ordered from the catch of the day I had halibut and my wife picked the hake which both came with a huge amount of bagged rocket salad leaves two sun-dried tomatoes and large amount samphire, and these meals wasn’t cheap,

Completamente perdido. £15.

This is a hidden gem away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Whitby. The couple who run it are friendly and helpful and the food very good quality at excellent prices. Most place today you just about get change from £10 for 2 hot drinks but here You get a little change from £5 for a tea and a coffee, both of which are good quality. The breakfasts are a good price, good quality and generous.

After a bracing walk along the Brigg we wanted to end our day at the coast with some fish and chips. They were freshly made so we had to wait a few minutes but it was worth it. Fish was beautifully cooked and not too much batter and I wasn't over faced by the chips - for once I ate every single bit on the tray. Only marked it down as they couldn't take card payments, only cash, as the machine wasn't working but I'd definitely go back.

We were made very welcome in front of the fire. We have a well behaved golden doodle dog who settled down and slept while we had tea gluten free burger and chips. Medium cod and scampi combo. They gave the chips from this to my husband as he loves extra chips. It is licensed It is small and the young man who served us was very sociable
