The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

My word! I don't often have fish and chips, maybe on a seaside holiday or nick a few chips off the kids, however, how I have never come to this takeaway before and in my opinion it blows 90% of the others out of the water. Friendly and accommodating staff, swift service and beautifully fresh, well cooked fish and for me, perfect chips. The cheeky little sausage in batter I added for a later snack was delicious too, batter still had a crunch not gone soggy. I will definitely be going again soon to try more delights, the smell of the curry sauce was almost intoxicating, what a gem on Fountain street, think the locals have been keeping this quiet! Bravo.

Walked in after seeing cone of chips for £1.80 and decided to get one, sorry I did as they were nothing but rock hard chips and way to much salt. Ate about 3 chips and the rest went in the bin wouldn't even let birds suffer

If you want fresh you aren’t getting much fresher, unless you are getting up early and on the boats with these guys. I bough a pot each of freshly cooked, Mussels, Cockles and Lobster from the friendly lady and seasoned them with the available salt, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce. I then spent the next 15 mins wandering the beach and the rock pools with my 4 yr old and enjoying the tastes of the sea. Best shellfish I’ve had this year. The same shellfish are available for £88 a plate in the nearby Nathan outlaw cafe. Today I appreciated the simple pleasures with less swearing involved in the prep and for just over a tenner.

Super welcome from a lovely lady. I had scampi and beans, pickled gherkin and mayonnaise. All the food was piping hot, cooked to perfection, and produced very quickly. And all for a very reasonable price. It really couldn’t have been better and I look forward to returning.

Sadly disappointed. Wanted a couple of pots of whelks but advised we’re still frozen. As were the prawns & cockles. It was 1pm.Chise to have a bag to go. While waiting asked for 2 oysters to enjoy at the small stand up table. Oysters were opened and prepared and offered to me on nothing. I asked if there was a plate and after waiting the oysters were again offered this time on top of a square metal pot of ice. They were delicious. I also noticed how other customers had the same frozen issues with one electing to have crab/fish sticks. The sticks were picked up by hand and bagged as the gent serving did not seem to know another way.

Amazing as always. Beautiful and flavourful food from Simon. Simon is such a wonderful, kind host and such good portions. Make sure you eat from here. The food is more than 'fine'. Cash only. Our favourite.

Came by this evening in search of supper. Fish Lounge including its off sales counter has been renamed as Ocean Lounge Some tables laid but not open to the public on this Thursday in mid June 2022.

Perfect, just perfect! Just been to the Co op car park in Southwell. My husband rang the order through. I’m one hungry mummy to be and these hit the spot! Beautiful batter that was perfectly crispy and excellent chips! We will be back! Highly recommend!

Just had a large fish and chips,5 minute wait but it was worth it, lovely moist perfectly cooked piece of cod and fluffy chips 10 out of 10.

Me and mum had a takeaway from these guys and it was out of this world. The lobster was so fresh and the salad was dressed beautifully with flowers. Was amazing with champagne. Highly recommend to all my friends and family and will be ordering again ☺️

We wanted a lunch and our usual place was packed so tried here and were not a bit disappointed. My husband had the best crab salad/sandwich he has ever had. Will be back in Spring 2025

I hadn't been to the Harbour since before the Covid crisis started a couple of years ago. Ate there last week. It's just as good as ever. Exceptional quality.

This chip shop is a gem, burgers, fish and chips all very good but the southern fried chicken is just awesome, nice big tasty pieces. Worth buying a large portion and save a piece for the next day. Batter and skin all crisped up so no wobbly skin like other well known places, top quality chicken too.
