Just Shellfish in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

If you want fresh you aren’t getting much fresher, unless you are getting up early and on the boats with these guys. I bough a pot each of freshly cooked, Mussels, Cockles and Lobster from the friendly lady and seasoned them with the available salt, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce. I then spent the next 15 mins wandering the beach and the rock pools with my 4 yr old and enjoying the tastes of the sea. Best shellfish I’ve had this year. The same shellfish are available for £88 a plate in the nearby Nathan outlaw cafe. Today I appreciated the simple pleasures with less swearing involved in the prep and for just over a tenner.

Amazing, fresh crab sandwich! Bread was soft and crab delicious! We even saw the owner of the shop bringing in the crab he’d just caught. Lovely family business :)

I purchased some lobster today 9.8.22 and it was tasty, fresh and well worth the price as a treat. I would recommend getting there in good time so you’re not disappointed and miss out.

You may certainly find more expensive crab and lobster, but you won't find better! Dressed crab comes in three sizes ranging from £6-12. The lobster are excellent. Unfortunately the shop closes in the afternoon, so you probably might need to make a special trip and, like anywhere in Port Isaac, parking is tricky, so I bought my lobsters and crabs in one go for freezing. The flavour was unimpaired.

My son and I shopped here everyday we were on holiday. By far the best brown crab anywhere, it’s brought in from the day boats, cooked and sold cracked or dressed. Nothing finer

Went in here twice while on holiday locally. Had a lobster halved and dressed for cooking later that day and a pot of fresh crab meat for sandwiches, both incredible. Later that week collected some lobster tails to take home. Prices are really very good compared to what you pay further inland so we took advantage to stock up! Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I visited Just Shellfish on my trip to Port Isaac and it did not disappoint. I had a crab sandwich which was truly incredible!!! The staff were lovely and told me all about the history of Just Shellfish and pointed out “The Maverick” the boat where all the crab is caught. If you happen to be in Port Isaac Just Shellfish is a must - I will certainly be visiting every time I am in the village.

After a run I popped in here for a highly anticipated crab sandwich and it was delicious- it had loads of crab meat in which was super fresh (the girl who works there was picking it from that mornings catch which I saw being unloaded when I had gone past in the morning!) Really friendly family run place- cannot wait to come back!

Amazing to watch the crab and lobster coming in from the Maverick boat in the harbour (the yellow one). The effort that goes into picking the crab is fascinating to watch, had a wonderful chat with the girl while she worked, so sweet. I was able to buy the exact amount of white crab meat I needed for my salad and also took home some live lobsters! Next time I visit I’m buying one of their hoodies! Highly recommend!

Came in “just Shellfish” on our stay in Port Isaac for a crab sandwich as it was recommended to us, well I wish I hadn’t listened to that recommendation!!The girl serving us was extremely rude, arrogant and just seemed as though serving us was beneath her!! And as for what she served us was just revolting...limp soggy bread and the crab wasn’t fresh at all which left a horrible after taste, after two bites of this sandwich I happily let the seagulls finish it!!Don’t go here, I certainly won’t ever again!! Go to the Krab pot instead, much better friendly service and better quality ingredients.

I love a good crab sandwich and was recommended to try Just Shellfish at Port Issac. Looking at all the fresh fish, crabs and lobsters freshly caught earlier.I requested a crab sandwich with lemon juice and black pepper in granary bread. I took it away with me to eat later. I can tell you it was the meatiest and succulent crab sandwich I have had in a long time.I may just have to go back for another one before my holiday ends.

We enjoyed lovely, fresh crab sarnies and a lobster pot while sitting in Port Isaac harbour. An expensive treat at just over £20 but was well worth it. Recommended

I’m on a Keto diet so whilst all the others sought out steaming traditional pasties, I needed to find an alternative.Hubby found this little place down a tiny little alleyway and I wasn’t disappointed. I had 1/2 a lobster salad box (£12) and it was stunning. Plenty of salt, pepper, vinegar (and lemon juice, if you wanted) with a generous pot of mayonnaise and some bread and butter (which I couldn’t have but looked so good!)My only whinge is that I’d have liked the option of them removing all the meat from the shell, for me, as this was quite a task with a plastic fork, whilst sat on a wall

The best dressed crab we have ever eaten. BY FAR !!! So good we went back for more. I can highly recommend this establishment.

Booked a boat trip from the crab shop counter. Great value, new boat and lots of local info from ex local fisherman. Saw loads of puffins and a seal.

Popped in here to ask about cooking crabs ( after a disaster when I last cooked them ) Liz was amazing, very informative and more than happy share her knowledge with me. Spider crabs were amazing. This place is a great place to visit when in Port Isaac

Visited Port Issac and couldn’t resist treating myself to a delicious dressed Crab from Just Shellfish and as alway it was the best, so fresh you could taste the sea.

Just love fresh crab or lobster sandwiches and this is clearly the best we've had by far, back there very soon for more....

I had the crab sandwich and it was probably the best one i have tried. The staff are really attentive and friendly. Over all a really good little tucked away place.

The best dressed crab. Fresh. Tasty. Huge. A seaside dream come true. All you need is a hunk of granary bread from the bakers just up the road and a spot of mayonnaise to make the perfect Port Isaac meal. Lovely lady serving too!!

We visited the harbour outlet to buy fresh Atlantic crab.

Freshly caught and prepared crab served in the shell. Generous portion too at a very reasonable price. Perfect for eating on the harbour front with a little bit of lemon juice. I love this place and go there whenever I'm in Cornwall.

This year we ordered cab claws and were not disappointed! They were huge and freshly cooked that morning. A wonderful treat that we will be repeating.

You can't beat a fresh dressed crab with a squeeze of lemon - these guys do the best! Ate one surfing at Polzeath yesterday for lunch. Not a restaurant but you can takeaway & eat on the Platt grab a pint from the Golden Lion & a bag of chips coming down the hill - lunch sorted! They do live & cooked whole crabs & lobster too...

This was not the restaurant but the crab / lobster picking place where the staff were working hard to pick the crabs. We bought lobster tails and they were beautiful and sweet. Could have kept eating .
