Sonia's Finest Takeaway in North Devon

I can't say enough good things about this take away. The food is always perfect, the value is excellent and the quantity is, frankly, obscene. We have to freeze chips every time we go there. We have been using this take away for a decade and it is our go to for a good, (very,very) reasonably priced take away.100% I recommend it, and the staff are so friendly.

Great fish & chips opted for small cod but it was rather large really nice & crispy was also advised to get 1 large chips instead of 3 portions what good advice, the large chips was enormous and the curry sauce is also really good, cannot recommend here enough good food, good service and friendly staff will visit again when in north Devon

was cold waited to long over 20 mins waiting for food wasn't even put in a warm place two of my items were stood for over 10 mins

What an amazing find! Huge portions at a very reasonable price. Excellent tasting fish and chips - cooked freshly as you wait. The long queue spoke volumes about the quality and quantity of the food within. We won't be using any other fish and chip shops locally again!

I have used Sonias for years, Maria the owner is such a great lady who believes in giving value for money and certainly does that, huge portions of lovely food prepared while you wait. Chicken kebab to die for.

Just a take away but they certainly give you value for your money as the portion sizes are huge. Quality of the food often varies but overall it is worth a visit

Popped in for a fish and chip supper last night. All food was cooked while we waited and was lovely and fresh. Lovely fish and dad said the best he had had in a long time. Loads of lovely chips and could not find a fault. Well worth a visit

This place is highly recommended! Fresh cooked food, good quality and great prices. We use this place regular now and have tried various items from the menu, rang from fish and chips to kebabs which are fantastic, their burgers are lovely as well. Quite an extensive menu, so nothing to disappoint. They don't take card payments only cash sales, so remember this before you decide to try for the first time. Service is brilliant and on a busy evening, they cope really well seeing as there are only two serving.

the best value around. people come from all over town to buy their takeaway from here. i often pop in for a sneaky spring roll. but the burgers are scrummy too.

Staying for a week on holiday and wanted fish and chips for tea , who doesn't sometimes. Found Sonia's on google maps as it was on our way back to the cottage. Greeted with a smile we ordered large fish and large chips peas and curry sauce. Well, be warned the portions are very generous in fact they are huge. I can eat large potions no problem but we shared these and still couldn't finish all the chips. The fish was very tasty the batter was light and crispy the chips were fresh not reheated. Everything about this meal was superb Go on treat yourself you deserve the best.

One large Portion of chips is enough for me my partner and my daughter! Excellent value for money. Kebabs are lovely. Do kids meals. Very friendly don't have to wait long .

Vino desde Londres a una mini vacaciones con la familia a probar la comida en esta tienda! Por lejos, el mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he tenido en mi vida! Grandes porciones, extremadamente rico, personal muy amable y el dueño y me enteré de que todos los ingredientes de las patatas a la carne en el kebabs son orgánicos y de productos locales. No hay carne procesada! Sabe tan bien! Recomendaría cualquiera de comer allí, ya que comimos aquí cada día por 3 días y probamos todo! Bueno

sonia's is def the place to go if you are on a budget or a super eater! a large portion of chips is enough to feed my family of 4. we dont use any other chip shop because we know we will get good value for our money!

Sonia's takeaway is a good old fashioned British fish and chip shop with added extras - even vegetarians are catered for.Be sure to arrive hungry as Sonia's portions are as enormous as their quality is great. By contrast, the prices are very reasonable. Ask for a "large cod" and you will get a small whale! Sonia and her sons are always efficient, friendly, cheerful and polite. Every time we have visited the food has been cooked to perfection, and the shop is always clean - not to mention the flower displays are magnificent.Forches Estate is not top of everybody's tourist highlights, but boy is this establishment worth the detour!
