Yet again great fish and chips, I am gluten free and they did not let me down I was able to have a fish with batter on it, which I find extra special not all fish and chip shops do that. Plus my dog love her sausage she had with her tea that night and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

We visited this chippy last week found it very expensive with every item individually priced. We ordered 1 ptn Oinion rings and chips 2 ptns chicken nuggets and chips and 1 ptn kebab meat and chips coming to £21 odd the chips were very sorry looking and ropy perhaps the worst I have ever eaten the kebab meat had a funny flavour. Kids did not eat their chicken nuggets and chips and my older daughter was repulsed by the Onion rings which looked like dog poop amongst a few ropy chips. Almost everything went straight in the bin and was totally unpalatable as it was about 3 miles away 6 miles by return I had no choice but to get fresh food from the campsite cafe. At Woolacombe bay Holiday parks. How this so called Village chip shop is still in business is beyond me totally disgusting. I can’t stress enough how repulsive the food is from this place. Sorry can’t call it food it’s inedible. If I can come back to this review later I will post a photo of the poor excuse for onion rings and chips. Feeling sick just writing this and remembering what these people are trying to pass off as food

Bought fish and chips and ate them overlooking the beach at Woolacombe before heading home. Very fresh fish, great batter and very large portions. Too may chips for me though! Only problem was having to hide them from the seagulls who were on the prowl waiting to pounce

After a day on the beach we decided on Fish and Chips for dinner. There were 2 shops to choose from and as the queue for the other shop was astronomical we chose this one. The queue here was also long but not as bad. Woolacombe was very busy as it was bank holiday weekend but the order/cooking system that they use was less than efficient. They take 5 orders at a time, cook them, serve them, then take the next 5 orders. So basically you are waiting for fish to cook ALL the time. Whilst I understand that this method would reduce wastage during quieter times, it just led to ridiculous waiting times during this busy time. We waited over an hour in a queue of 20 people for Fish and Chips! I would have left but by the time I figured out how it worked, I'd already committed half an hour and my children were hungry! The worst bit is, I have had far better fish and chips! The staff were lovely but the system they use is ineffective at busy times! Cooking more fish ready to go would make much more sense!!Sorry but don't bother going!

Really tasty haddock and a rare option for a cone of chips - brilliant for me as I can never manage a full portion and hate to see good food go to waste. Good service and option to eat inside - we appreciated the high chair for the toddler in our party. We ate around 7pm on a summer Sunday evening and were pleased to find we didn't have long to wait before enjoying our fish supper.

There are 2 fish and chip shops in Woolacombe and as the other one had run out of chicken (my wife's allergic to fish) I gave this place a go. They lost my order (there was only me and one other customer in the place!) and eventually it arrived. Took it back to the lovely chalet we were staying in - only 90 seconds away. It was disgusting....the chicken was as tough as old boots and the chips - we were given about 10 each - well, I haven't the words to describe how awful they were. They formed a mush in the bottom of the tray and after trying one, mine went straight in the bin. I didn't bother going back to complain as it was obvious that the 2 young girls behind the counter (they looked about 12 or 13) were there under sufferance and weren't in the slightest bit interested. When the person who was doing the "cooking" (I think it was their mother) finally found my order and asked why it hadn't been passed through they both just shrugged.

Our first visit to woolacombe and the queue for the fish and chip shop was down the street, then my daughter spotted a sign for the village chippy so we went there and were pleased to see there was a smaller queue. There was quite a long wait for our food and at 6pm they announced they had run out of fish. When we got the food back to our caravan I realised that my portion of chips didn't even fill the bottom of the burger style box it was served in. the food was very greasy to. wouldn't go there again

Went here as we love Thai food, and they were offering a couple of different Thai curries - Penang and Red Curry. Both were shockingly poor! Having been to Thailand several times, I know what both of these dishes should roughly taste like! What we got was a world away from anything remotely Thai! Pork Penang was watery with virtually no sauce, but loads and loads of tinned pineapple! Just plain wrong! The red curry was equally disappointing... We left both after a couple of mouthfuls! They should stick to fish and chips and a law should be passed to stop people like this from dishing up crud like that!

We had passed this chippy on the way to the beach and it looked really promising with its advertisement of line caught fish in the Faroe Islands so we planned to go later in the week which we did! We got there for half five when it opened , all had cod and chips and a kids meal, had to wait for the food to be cooked which we didn't mind as knew it would be fresh. We took them back to our caravan and can honestly say they were the worst fish and chips I have ever had, none of us finished them. The chips were a little burnt and tasted like old fat had been used and the fish was a very small portion with soggy batter! When I cut into the fish I expected white chunky fish but it was a funny grey colour! Never ate it! Complete waste of money and very disappointing! Would not eat there again!!!

These are quite honestly, the best fish and chips in the UK. I have sampled many others, but none have stood up to this one. Especially bearing in mind our local one at home has won international awards.Admittedly, I am sure the location and eating on the beach contribute strongly to the positive reviews, but this place is genuinely amazing. It is on the expensive side, but worth it.

Expecting a queue on a Saturday evening, but 40 mins is just ridiculous. 10 minutes to place your order, but no mention that it'll take a further 30 minutes to cook, and very frustrating when people are given their food out of turn. To add insult, the fish was tasteless. We won't be returning as there is a much better alternative nearby.

I am thrilled that you are getting back up and running. I've had so many relaxed and friendly hours in the cafe with friends that I am looking forward to more accompanied by a fab nut roast and side salads fit for a queen. Airy and plenty of space (unlike other cafes that cram as many in as they can) so it feels very Covid safe even without have to make big changes.
