The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

The chicken was too wet, not cooked properly, I ordered a chicken drum stick. Rather, I was served tights. I understand human errors do occur, but please improve.

Haven’t tried for a while since they closed but it used to be excellent. Seems to have gone downhill since reopening. Chips were brown and tasted like old oil, very greasy and not great. The cod, although the batter was cooked well, tasted awful. Again tasted like old cooking oil and the fish itself was very dry and had a lot of hard bits which was weird. Curry sauce was that strange lumpy, cheap stuff and not good at all. Also found a small piece of bone. Husband had battered sausage, again horrible batter - it was very soggy and the sausage was soft. won’t be coming back.

Absolutely disgusting!!! Chips dry as shoe leather... lumpy curry sauce... and for £5.10... are u taking the piss!!! I won't be back EVER!!! Avoid if u have any sense!!

The picture here doesn't do it justice. This is my all-time favourite chippie in all of Brighton. They're the only place that do cheesy chips right. Make sure to ask for them not to wrap it so it doesn't clump up at the top. The chips are chunky and soft and absolutely perfect. When I crave chips, I crave Woodingdean Fish Bar Chips. I'm sorry I can't review much else because I'm vegetarian, and I genuinely only come here for the Chips and Gherkin, but SERIOUSLY, go give them a try if you have not. Friendly service from a family owned business. The first time I moved to Woodingdean, I was treated warmly by the man inside, and he could tell instantly I had just moved. He was so lovely and gave me such a warm sense of community. I'm genuinely hungry just from writing this. Atmosphere wise, it's kind of a sterile enviroment, always clean, has a tv with the football on, a board with lots of woodingdean community based fliers and plenty of tables and chairs including waiting chairs.

Absolutely Delicious fish and chips and always freshly cooked. Going there later today 25 March’25 to treat my sister Pauline for her Birthday treat. I asked her whatever meal she would like for her birthday I would pay for ……. She said I want HORACE’S FISH sand CHIPS! I use to work in Captains Table, Fish & Chip shop, in Saltdean over 25/35 years ago and Trevor was friends with him. HORACE’S is THE BEST NOW!!!

We visited The Master Fryer while on holiday. Amazing fish and chips. The best we have ever tasted. Perfectly cooked and very tasty. Roger is very helpful and friendly, a perfect lunch. Thank you Roger and great chatting to you. We would highly recommend The Master Fryer.

I don’t recommend ordering from there since the staff are super rude and won’t take accountability of there wrong doings, sooo the story, I ordered from there at 6pm online for collection and it said to be there for half past 6pm with that being a decently long wait as it as but I just assumed they were busy so my partner shows up at the specified time as there website says for it to be about 15 minutes later than the specified time but wasn’t to mad about that but what did make me mad was the other half an hour wait for my mums food that was ordered the same time as mine, so I went in nicely and asked how will I be compensated for the 1 long wait after the specified time so an hour and a half total just for sausage and chips small orders by the way 😂 so as I asked for the compensation one random member of staff started having raising there voice to me every time I made a valid point of what occurred, then someone else came out after I was told they were getting the manager if she was the manager I don’t but she was even ruder to me saying that it’s ok for people to be waiting 2 hours for there food because it’s a Friday and that I should just understand and wait, she also had the audacity to also say that I came in and started to have a go at the staff even though it never happened I stood inline to wait for my mums food as not to disturb them whilst they worked and asked nicely so I would not advise people to get abused for hours for sub par food at that. Disgraceful customer service. And subpar food make for a pretty crappy place.
