A good fish n chip shop. Very clean and hygienic with amazing fish n chips

The food was very bad, it was the worst chicken burger I have ever eaten in my life, the chips were black and they gave me the last remaining chips, I waited for my food for 10 minutes but my food was cold.

I am not sure what happened with the batter on the fish it was so hard I could not eat it the chips were fine very disappointed after paying £27 and only being able to eat chips would not recommend

Popped into the blue marlin, it was absolutely amazing. Shop looks incredible, the food was so good, so tasty. Felt really welcomed by the staff which is always great when visiting a place for the first time. Would defo recommend to anybody who loves fish and chips. Amazing! Thank you!

Chips are always dry and hard sort it or sell up mate stop winging it and I know the rich are fickle and buy anything but I work hard for mine so fix up please or just do an insurance job and do everyone a favour

Poor quality food. It think they needed to change the cooking oil as the chips particularly had a poor smell and taste. Onion rings very sad.

Expensive and part of the order missing when picked up. Then expect you to drive back for something you did not order because they ran out of what you ordered. would not recommend it.

asked for no salt and no vinegar the bottom of my battered sausage was melting where there was that much vinegar on it will not go back the chips were disgusting and undercooked

Equally disgusting attitude from the clearly disinterested and inexperienced staff as the vile greasy lame excuse for food they serve. Avoid this questionable venue and save yourself any disappointment.

Always had great service and the food is fantastic. However when I pay £42 for my food to be delivered I don’t expect it to be stone cold. Not impressed

Light crispy batter on the fish - no skin - and dry chips, not wet and oily. Exactly as i like my fish and chips - definitely going back.

Cash only, 20 minute wait, priority given to deliveroo over walk-ins, mediocre food. Avoid.

First time visiting in a while Food was good and chip portion very generous. However was surprised that they do not take card payments only cash A strange position in this day and age I could speculate as to why but will leave it there

Just ordered a takeaway using Uber Eats. Was a bit worried doing a fish & chips delivery, but the food was great! Lovely fresh fish and chips and arrived piping hot. Thanks Blue Marlin, food was superb 👍🏻

So disappointed.We had heard good things ,and always busy when passing. So tonight we ordered for collection. I was so looking forward to this. I was so ,so disappointed. The cod was by far the worst cod I have ever had . It was so dry and over cooked. The chips were dry it was awful. We actually threw it away. A waste of £30. Never again

Normally go to super dish bit for some reason it was shut on a Thursday so went yo blue marlin and it was probably the best bit of fish have has in ages,not too much batter and extremely tasty chips were good and not an extreme amount that get chucked away

Food is great, but check your order before you leave! Got home to find my fish & chips were missing chips... Shop didn't come across apologetic on the phone, and didn't even say sorry when I went back to pick the chips up.

Scrummie Chips and Spring Roll. Wish I had ordered mushy peas too. Next time I'll remember! Edit: I remembered to order mushy peas on my next visit and wasn't disappointed :-)

Good portions and food at a reasonable price compared to other local chip shops. Could be more veggie options (maybe battered halloumi or battered veggie sausage as no one else in the area offers this - get ahead of the curve?!) Otherwise recommend and would still return in future.

Haddock and chips twice on this visit. Freshly cooked and boxed up. Good fast efficient service.

2 quarter pounder cheese burgers salad, brioche bun, chips Absolutely delicious. Definitely have again. Everything they serve is excellent.

Restaurant freezing cold Waited 40 mins for a meal, had a hungry small child with us and no attempt was made to quicken the service Meal very average No bread and butter or pickles offered. Better off going to Superfish where a warm welcome, warm restaurant, speedy service and extras come as standard

They had a refit, the already expensive food got more expensive and the portion size cut in half. The large cod were nothing of the kind, even the large chips were small

Quiet disappointing. Better off at SuperFish. The first couple of times we went the portion sizes were generous. It was already a bit more expensive than SuperFish, but given the portion sizes we weren't complaining. But now it is even more expensive and the 4 "large" cod were all small None of us were full at the end of the meal.

Food is brilliant, the time it takes to get a take away is way too long, give out numbers to order, however you can call and cut the queue. which makes the whole routine redundant.

Huge portions. Cod thick and tasty with crispy flavourful batter. Chips crisp and crunchy, not oily at all. Next time I’ll have a small cod and share a portion of chips with my husband. Friendly service my husband said. All food freshly cooked and tasted great.

Queing in the freezing cold for half and hour after ordering, at least three people in front of me, went in to ask about their ordering system as people who had made phone orders were going in and collecting food while we were stood outside. Staff were not particularly nice so I asked for a refund. Won't be going here again.

Blue Marlin does the BEST fish and chips for miles around. Actually, no it doesn't. We don't everyone else going there.

Best fish and chips for miles !! We are regulars and the food is always freshly cooked. COVID rules easy to follow and staff polite and helpful. Enter and order one at a time and wait outside and chat at a distance with others that are waiting. Staff will give you a shout when your order is ready. No plastic packaging always a bonus ! Cod is tasty fresh and well cooked. Also heard they do gluten free Monday .... which shows they regularly change oil and cater for everyone...

why do you have the opening hours on the door if you are not opening at the specified hour?

First time writing a review about food, but because of the quality from Blue Marlin i had to share my experience, i must say the food is amazing. I ordered a regular Fish & Chips with a curry sauce and a couple of Prawns, straight away You can tell the difference, the freshness of the fish and the crispy chips, this all adds up with the quality oil they use aswel which is very important in a fish and chip shop. Overall very impressed with the food and also the design of the shop was surprisingly very impressive and modern especially the dining area. 10/10

Have been a regular here for many years and can honestly say you won't find a better Chippy ,The place is always spotlessly clean Food Always cooked to order Chunky Cod with golden crispy batter even the Regular size is huge and to top it off a generous portion of chips ,staff always friendly too ...if you are in Surrey and want Fish and chips as it should be ..Then this is the place

The very first time I tried the Blue Marlin I had sit-in and I was very impressed with their Fish & Chips as well as the cleanliness of the premises and the friendly staff.Had take-away from here many times since then. For purposes of comparison I did try the Fish & Chips from the place down the road since they are also recommended but I was not impressed - greasy batter with dry fish. Thinking it might have just been a one off, I tried again a few weeks later, but same again - just not tasty.Back to the Blue Marlin every since this foray and I can honestly say they have never missed a beat. Highly recommended.

Have visted here for takeaways before Covid and now during. They only allow one person ordering in at a time and everyone waits outside until the order is ready. The food has always been very good and the fish cooked to perfection, unlike another fish and chip takeaway in Ashtead where the plaice is always overcooked and comes out curled up and not a flat fish at all. Would recommend.

Had this recently, my friends always posted it over their Instagram and always looked amazing so had to try it for myself, legit the best fish and chips around surrey, the fish was fresh, the batter was amazing, also the curry sauce was banging not like the microwave ones which half the other places have, defo highly recommend to try this out, I'm going back very soon!

Fantastic place can't fault it very hygienic staff was very friendly and polite would deffo recommend.

Fast & great customer service, taste in fresh fish flavour and highly recommended to all who is thinking about visiting the place. I think the most unique thing about this restaurant is that you are greeted and served with the upmost respect and feel very welcome. I will definitely be returning with my family and recommend many of my friends.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THEIR PRICES AND THEN CHECK YOU CHANGE A I BOUGHT A LARGE COD AND CHIPS AS A TAKE AWAY GAVE THE PERSON SERVING A £20.00 NOTE AND GOT A £10.00 NOTE BACK. I WAS SHORT CHANGED BY ABOUT £1.50. CANNOT BE EXACT AS THEY DO NOT HAVE THEIR PRICES ADVERTISED HERE. SO BE CAREFUL !!!!!!!

Had a fish and chips on the way back home .Must say it was brilliant .if il be passing by again definitely will be back again. Well worth the money .

Been in hospital all day and on way home my husband found this chip shop. When we arrived we ordered just chips. While waiting my 6yr old daughter was coughing. I overheard the owner say “why don’t you cough outside” I then looked around and saw him looking at my daughter in disgust. I said “im sorry what did you say?” He says “nothing, I’m talking to myself”. So I repeated what he said and I then went on to say “she’s 6 years old with severe Asthma” he then said “I didn’t realise”. Well no u didn’t because you just assumes that she was infected with a virus. What i should have done was requested for my money back as to make a 6yr old feel the was she did was not a nice experience for her. POOR SERVICE.

Very nice. All cooked fresh so expect a small wait, but quality is good, chips are slightly crisp and not soggy.

Our favourite fish & chip shop. Good old, inch thick, chunky white fish enjoyed here. The young chaps that run it are very chatty and take pride in what they do. Clean, newly built, seaside decorated restaurant with easy free parking on the doorstep. Well done guys, keep it up, 5 stars!

Second take away from here. Wanted to give them a second chance. Both times the fish was so dry and tasteless. Chips tasteless too. Nice the way are presented in a box but that’s the only positive. Will stick to to our usual one just down the road in future.

We have visited Blue Marlin many times and i can not fault them! The two young guys that are there most days are extremely kind and helpful (very patient with my indecisive kids) even when extremely busy. The portions are huge! We share one portion of chips between me and my two children and split the large cod between my two kids! Great value for money, not greasy at all and very delicious. Also the premises is always immaculately clean!
