Called in on Monday and the fish I had was superb. Really fresh and was such a thick fillet that the lady, who obviously knew her stuff, cooked it a little longer to make sure it was just right. Will be calling again very soon

The chips were really soggy and very pale definitely undercooked, which was a shame. The rest was cooked fine and delivered on time.

My fish was a little disappointing No taste not the same taste as always

Great take away, most everything is cooked fresh if your of a mind to call in. Fish bites are gorgeous. Pizzas & Kebabs great too. Timely deliveries also.

The delivery of our order was delivered and my partner’s meal the scampi and we are still trying to guess what was inside the scampi it was not prawns and the meal was lukewarm warm when it arrived , won’t t use them again

Really bad experience, can’t answer a phone when u make an order online, and then lie to say delivery had left when it hadn’t when I actually drove to shop after 1hr and a half wait. Food ok shame staff are incompetent. Although manager was very apologetic and helpful compared to the other woman who works there. Shame really

Avoid this place, they have a stupid rude woman in there who can’t pack orders or answer a phone, what’s the point in a delivery service. Avoid this place not worth the hassle also a 2hr wait for food.

A bit late but it was Good Friday so totally understand. The food itself…….. the best battered fish I have ever had. The batter wasn’t too thick or greasy. It melted in the mouth. Will definitely be getting from here again.

Shop very nice and clean, nice staff. Food dreadful! Ordered collection meal deal. Garlic bread cold and rock hard, pizza was Very bland and dry, chips were scrag ends, Donner meat ok. I thought third time lucky? But should have stopped when I got fish patty and chips once, and the fish was grey inside.

Definitely the best chippy in town! Ordered a large Fish & Chips, Fish Bites & Small Chips, large Mushy Peas and Curry Sauce. Love how your food is packaged up in sturdy boxes. Keeps everything nice and hot. Asked for our batter to be cooked extra dark and crispy. All perfect! Portions are very generous. Highly recommended.

Decent fish, good portion of chips albeit lots of 'scratty' bits. Nice curry sauce. Overall it was a solid 7 out of 10.

Ordered Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas, Curry Sauce & Spam Fritter - asked for the fish to be well done in the notes. When it arrived absolutely perfect, portion size was mahoosve - could easily feed 2 people. Fish was thick white n chunky, chips cooked perfectly - First time ordering from here, won’t be the last - Big Shout out to Park Lane Fish Shop HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 👍

Food was awful. Chicken & Donner wrap.. donner was awful and chicken was rock hard. Chips were massively undercooked. shame as i quite enjoyed the food from here.

its the first time i've tried this chip shop and i must say it wont be the last the regular portion was massive and the quality on par with what you would expect in a whitby restaurant also the free salt and vinegar sachets were a bonus

Picked up what was supposed to be a downer kebab tonight, got home and there was no bread or salad, only meat 🤷

Updated again December 2023. Delighted to say this chippy changed hands again and is once more a great value fish and chip shop with huge portions of tasty fresh fish, chips and many more dishes I've yet to try can now highly recommend it again. Updated April 2018 - what used to be my favourite chippy has now changed hands - for the worse. No more fresh crisp food, what is served now is limp, greasy and unpalatable, I've tried it 3 times since it changed owners and each time most of the food went in the bin as it was inedible what a shame they couldn't keep up the previous great standards. Please see above update for upgraded rating 2023.

Second time ordering and can’t believe how good it is! The batter is so light but stays crispy, perfect amount of chips, excellent curry sauce — used to be loyal to a different chippy but we are thoroughly sold on Park Lane now!

Great fish shop.. portion sizes are amazing food is always gorgeous cod bites and chips is enough for 2 people..only downside is everything cooked to order so there sometimes can be a bit of a wait if they are busy but it's well worth it 5 stars from me!!!

Food is great quality but I'd avoid ordering the burgers that come with chips and salad. First time I ordered they only sent out a battered burger, no bread bun,chips or sald, Sure they sent the rest round when I called, fair play to them. I ordered again the following week and they sent the burger & bread bun with no chips or salad, I've just given up, will just go elsewhere in future.

We was on holiday and staying in the area so I stopped here for fish and chips, friendly service, fantastic portion size and lovely tasting cod, exactly what I wanted at a good price, what more can you ask for.

First class fish and chips. Headed over while in the area volunteering for a local event in the South Park. Lovely fish, really good chips peas and curry sauce and immaculately clean place. Staff friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back. Impressed.

Disappointed that the scampi wasn't whole-tail I expected better for the price. The scampi was poor quality which was a shame otherwise everything else ok.

Beans stones cold scampi stone cold fish bite stone cold and mince pies rock hard normally really good from here but sadly tonight was disappointing

Waited 40 minutes for 2 x chip butties and 2 x sausage. All of which were undercooked! I received battered sausages for some reason, even though I asked for 2 x regular sausages. I was told you have to specifically say "non battered." Unfriendly staff who clearly weren't interested. The fryer was still cleaning the windows 5 minutes after opening even with a queue of people waiting.

Asked for a chicken & doner wrap to be told they had no plain chocken so then asked for just a doner one to be told that they hadn't cooked the doner meat one so then asked for a chicken tikka wrap with salad, they didnt even put the salad in it it was in a box because they forgot about it so had to open it all ip to put it in ourselves. We also had 2 pies, well they had juat been miceowaved and the pastry was just soggy and the neat i side looked like a tin of dog food we couldn't even eat them it went straight in the bin. What a waste of £20. If I could give 0 stars for food I would.

Food was superb enough for a regular cod n chips for two. But I asked for no butter on my bun and some was on! Lucky I’m not allergic to it hey! Asked for scraps didn’t get any. The food was ordered at 18:35 to come for 20:00 it came at 20.29 but I couldn’t fault the food it was bang on! Would definitely recommend!

Food is is always lovely and hot.

Arrived on time and piping hot. The fish and chips where lovely, really good quality and the small portion was huge! The mushy peas were really flavourful, as was the curry sauce. The jumbo sausage was really crispy and the sausage was tasty. Some of the best fish and chips we've had in a long time, we will definitely be ordering from here again!

Visited last Friday evening on our way back home to the Midlands. We were blown away with the generous portion sizes and the quality of the fish and chips. The best fish and chips by far - just wished we lived nearer to take advantage!

Donner meat & scampi were spot on, pretty good. Battered sausage & chips were pretty standard, onion rings & pineapple fritter were very greasy, even bled through the packaging & paper. Ended up with curry sauce instead of the beans we ordered somehow.

Always a luvly fish & chip dinner from here...fresh tasting oil....not greasy...good portions and the mushy peas were really tasty....thank you
