Absolutely awful! Ordered by delivery. Over priced, overcooked fish in batter, cant say it was cod, so dry, swimming in oil, and soggy chips. Went in the bin.

Expensive for such a place, but good. Too much fat and too little detail. The portions of fish and fries we ordered turned out to be huge, there was no point in having more fries... we just threw them away because we couldn't eat them. You must describe: "portion size" and "weight"

It's a shame about the original Bob Carver's. It just needs doing up exactly like it. Then reopening again. But the patties from the other one are lovely. Batter and breaded.

Despite what others have written our fish & chips, and chicken nuggets were just fine. Priced reasonably. Lots of locals coming to take away food. We walked down to the harbor and sat on a bench to eat. Can't beat it. Michael was a great host and welcomed us warmly.

Stopped off here whilst driving through the town at 8.40pm, was a little worried as it showed on line it closed 9pm and most fish n chip shops like to have everything cleaned down n ready to close at exact 9pm! Not here the two lovely members of staff are a credit to the business, polite, professional and with me being Coeliac nothing was too much hassle. I ordered Gluten Free Fish n Chips was informed it would take abt 10mins, the way it tasted I would have waited an hour n 10mins. By far the nicest G/F Free Fish n Chips I ve tasted and I ve tasted plenty as I tend to travel all around the UK and nothing has even come close to my beautiful fish supper tonight, so thankyou! 5/5

Recommended to me, bit hard to find, decent chippy, all carry out (although they did have a couple of tables folded up - maybe they also do a small sit in option), liked the idea of a small portion. Fish was decent, very fresh, chips good too.

Easy menu that offers lobster rolls. A few sides to choose from. Small restaurant, and quick service. Stop here for a delicious lunch or dinner.

It was beautifully & tastefully decorated in a convenient area with a a Tesco express, chip shop, Chinese and kebab takeaway Would visit again when in the area.

Llegamos temprano - primera gente sentada en el bar de ostras - y pedimos cócteles. Agradable. Nos tomamos en el ambiente - las vidrieras Tom Wilson es maravilloso. Pedimos nuestra comida. Y se sentó. Entraron otras personas y nos sirvieron, pero nos sentamos a esperar. Después de más de media hora, llamamos al camarero - ay, lo siento, un ligero retraso, su comida estará aquí en un par de minutos. Unos minutos después apareció con nuestra comida, al igual que alguien que suponemos que era el gerente. Lo siento, dijo, pero el chef no estaba contento con los mejillones así que los hizo de nuevo. Dos veces. Los mejillones toman minutos - y nunca se explicó por qué estaba descontento, pero el gerente nos dijo "si es buena comida vale la pena esperar! " No si estamos comiendo temprano - o tratando de hacerlo - porque vamos a un espectáculo. Y eso presuponía buena comida. Hubiera sido más honesto si hubieran dicho "olvidamos su pedido" o "no lo enviamos a tiempo" o lo que sea, pero entonces, por supuesto, podríamos haber pedido algo para ser compendiado. Como era, deberíamos estar encantados de que el chef pasó más de media hora cocinando un montón de mejillones para ser perfecto - suerte nosotros. Los mejillones de mi marido eran sabrosos y él estaba feliz con ellos cuando finalmente llegaron. Había pedido Pollo Balmoral - el haggis era bueno, pero el plato en general salado. La había elegido en parte porque venía con Pommes Anna. Deben estar suaves en el medio y crujientes en los bordes - la patata estaba mal cocida en el medio (crujiente debe ser en el exterior no en el medio) y las rodajas de patata en la parte superior se habían despegado, así que me dieron un puñado de patatas fritas. El "jus" claramente se había espesado -por lo tanto, no un jus- y las verduras sabían a carbonizado (que está bastante de moda) y eran difíciles de comer ya que también estaban mal cocidas. ¿Y el chef pensó que tenía un problema con los mejillones? Jugué con la idea de enviarlo de vuelta, pero entonces podríamos haber llegado tarde al show. Qué gran decepción. Hemos comido aquí antes y disfrutamos mucho.

Very disappointing orders large cod meal the fish was overcooked and very dry the chips also like they was old chips also ordered a large Haddock meal which was was also over cooked been here before and has never been as bad as this

I haven't found what I was looking for: service below average and low value for money. Good food and cosy interior

I went here with my partner. The place wasn't busy but we waited over an hour for our food. When it arrived it wasn't hot but if it had been it may have been tasty. Outside of the waiting the service was good with polite and embarrassed servers apologising for the protracted wait. We won't be returning.
