Great food, service and welcome. Sorry to see it serve its last supper tonight. It closes for good tonight. Thank u for serving us for all these years.

Food was excellent value, great portion sizes, plenty of choice on the menu. Was too greasy to give 5 ☆

Food has went down hill since the last owner, place used to be a world class chippy. Greasy busted soggy fish, and 80p for some tarter sauce lol.

Very friendly staff. Shop was spotless. Food was amazing and a great price.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. It was so very nice and so fresh indeed cooked to perfection. The staff were fantastic. Couldn’t do anything more for you. I really thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I will definitely be back here. Ryan McCartney.

Ordered a taco chip, pasty and sausage for delivery, taco chip looked rotten worst thing was the mince didn't taste right, I worked in a chippy and the mince most definitely isn't ment tobe or taste the way it was.

The best fish and chips I've had in years. I live in Ballycastle where Mortons claim to be in a class of their own. This was MUCH BETTER!

I was very disappointed with the fish. There was more batter than fish. The batter was more like rubber, very chewy, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. I, for one, will never be back to that establishment.

Served by a very experienced Fish Fryer on her first day in the job getting familiarised with the job 👍 very attentive staff kind and considerate good food served hot with a smile.

Could of grown the food by the length of time I had to wait

Food top notch, food took an age to arrive but we'll worth it.

Grease dripping from the fish, batter was soggy and fish just fell apart when I tried to transfer it to a plate. Chips were half cooked and dripping with grease also. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Overpriced waste of money

I cant say a bad word about this place . Yes prices had went up and portion are bit smaller but unfortunately its happening everywhere . All I can say after reading the reviews call in and make your own mind up as for one they don't do burger meal only kids meal in shop so that's not true . Chicken burger are my favourite thank you guys your all doing well x

Was really hungry so called into smyths for something to eat. Ordered egg sausage supper with 2 rounds bread and pot of tea and got stuck in. I had been here before so knew their stuff was OK. Some chips into a quarter of bread was my first mouth full which tasted a bit wet or soggy but remember that I was hungry so second round bread same thing only this time I noticed a load of green mould on the bread, instantly put me off, I didn't pay for mould and did not expect it. Almost 10 quid for this meal and the young service girl couldn't check the meal before giving it to me. Needless to say I'm done with smyths, not be back.

Nice fish and nice prices. Staff seemed a bit under pressure as was a lot of shouting to the younger ones by the older one but is understandable in current climate. Food was good which is main point 👉

I'd say the nicest chippy on creagh Road. Due to the price increase they've had to put their prices up but you get big portions and it's delicious. You can also sit in if you like too

Great Chippy, food is always piping hot and delicious, perfect portion sizes. Have had eat in ,take away and delivery and all have been excellent quality. The staff are really friendly and polite and there is a lovely atmosphere in the shop. We definitely wouldn't go anywhere else 😉

Update five star was a while ago standard appears to be slipping at times wrong orders and friends of staff come in after you order same thing as you yet get theirs first

Well established chippy, with takeaway as well as seating for about 25/30 people. Good menu selection, tasty fish and decent chips. Is quite pricy though but one of the better chippies in East Belfast.

Had a takeaway. The fish and chips was poor quality and the portion size was meagre. After waiting for over 20 minutes, this was topped off by rubbish food and poor value. Won't be back...

Always got a delivery from them, food was lovely so didn't bother ordering from any other Chippy. Minimum order now is at least £10 so can't really order from them now if it's just for. myself.

Really nice chippy, until today I opened my chips to find a hair on top of it , really disappointed, its a great chippy but that is unacceptable.

This is the best fish and chip in Belfast in my opinion never disappoints takeaway or sit in delicious food generous portions and friendly staff.

Chips were nice and cheese burger had all the trimmings and was really tasty! Modern twist with delph and churn shaped milk jug for tea. Quick service, pleasant staff.

Son muy serviciales y muy amables y nada fue demasiado. Pedí a mis hijos y a mí que usaran el baño, pero me dijeron que es contra la salud y la seguridad debido a que el inodoro está en la parte trasera de la cocina, por lo que tendríamos que pasar por materiales calientes. y otros artículos que pueden causar accidentes, así que ahora entiendo totalmente, pero no dejaría que eso me desanime nuevamente. Por favor, pruébalo y toma una decisión como casi no lo hice después de leer las reseñas anteriores.

Never, ever had a bad meal in here, either sitting in or takeaway. Tastiest cod and chips I’ve eaten, both really well cooked and flavoursome. Our go-to place and I’d highly recommend.

Visited today with my family. Girl got the order wrong and then brought my daughter a cheeseburger. We had asked for a plain cheeseburger meal and there was mayo on it. My daughter didn't eat it. I had chicken and chips. The chicken was stringy and overcooked. I usually love a Smyth's, but at almost £25 disappointed tonight

This is a treat I allow myself twice a year after I visit my dentist. The batter round the fish and scampi is so light there's none of that uncooked layer you sometimes get at other chippies. Everything is cooked fresh and staff always try to accommodate your tastes. The shop is spotless, as is the seating area. Staff are friendly and cheerful. Definitely my favourite chippy in Belfast.

Recommended to us by a lady in Tescos. Pastie bap was crispy and full of flavour without being too spicy. Chips were perfect We will definitely be back.

Went way down hill burned and batter undercooked

Their burgers are to die for, we only go there, as nowhere else on the road or the East as a whole, me and the wife travel from Lisburn just to get SMYTH'S Burgers and of course their Fish and Chips.

Como cliente bastante habitual de este establecimiento, tal vez pueda comprender mi disgusto extremo cuando mi nieto (5) necesitaba usar el baño, no era un cliente en ese momento, sin embargo, la niña a la que atendía no podía ir regularmente. Esta visita pregunté si mi nieto podía usar el inodoro y, a pesar de que me conocían claramente, me dijeron "No". Si este es un ejemplo de cómo tratan a las personas que son clientes conocidos, creo que es seguro decir que yo nunca volveré a comprarles nada.

Food always excellent quality. Newly renovated eating area very modern and clean. Excellent variety. I had traditional cowboy supper which was great however my fiancee had a battered cod which was definitely the highlight. Paying the price for top quality here.

It was just ok nothing special, frozen pasties , it was so much better under its former owners!!

Nice selection of fish chips pasties. Can eat in. Be careful parking as wardens up and down the main road.

Back in tonight, and under the new management, got to say that the food and service was fantastic. An improvement on what was on offer and definitely worth a visit.

Called in to taste the menu at this chippy. Smyths is a long established chippy in this area of Belfast. The new owners have spruced up the sit in area so the food was worth a try. I was not disappointed. Really enjoyed it. Relaxed. Not rushed. No burnt bits. Really tasty chicken goujons and chips in a clean sit-in chip shop. Perfect cheat lunch.

This Chippy is far too close to my house :) Had a bit of a crappy day at work so I decided that the best way to combat the blues was a scampi supper. Service in here is always friendly. Ordered my food, got it quickly. Good sized portions too. Love my local chipper :)

In my opinion, Smyths is the best chippy in Belfast. The food is excellent.

Used to be better before being taken over by the Bethanys owner, now that it's changed hands again it'll hopefully improve!!

My wife used to love getting a baked potato from the shop known as Smyths, but since the new owners have taken over we have noticed that the portion size has drastically reduced , however credit where it's due ,she did comment on how nice it was. In short, suffice to say , we will no longer be getting one of these for a treat!!

Best chipper on the Cregagh Road. Fish freshly cooked and very tasty. Batter is crispy and not soggy and you can actually taste your fish! Reasonably priced and good size portions. Can sit in too if you want, staff are nice and friendly and food is always nice and hot. Other 'chippers' in the vicinity not as good as Smyth's, it has the edge..
