The best restaurants serving Portuguese food in England

I always like to read reviews but not really one for writing them. However, this place is so good I feel I must. A visit to see our son in Kingston is never complete unless we have been to Mimosa. We accidentally fell on this little place a year or so ago and used it as a coffee shop. However it’s so much more than that. We went in yesterday to share a bottle or two of delicious Portuguese wine which turned into a lovely Portuguese meal as well. Hoping to return today before we depart for home to have coffee and cake. It’s such a lovely place with very friendly, extremely knowledgeable staff who are always eager to please. Karen

Brilliant food, good service and reasonable. The beef kebab was to die for but all the food was good.

Admittedly we are coffee snobs and know when the drink doesn't cut it. I enjoyed a double espresso and have to say it was nutty, flamboyant and chocolaty. Truly a joy! Well done Mannys, keep it up 👆

Had a great meal here early evening today with my grandchildren. Tasty, well cooked, homemade coleslaw ( not the usual industrial tasteless stuff - believe me, I'm an expert) and divine chips! Super service, great value too as one child eats free with a full paying adult. All very tasty and we will be going again!

Fantastic tarts. Got a 6-pack of the classic flavour in the market at York. So good. Best I've had outside of Portugal. Chap serving was very friendly. Highly recommend.

Desde o primeiro dia que a forma como fomos recebidos foi a mais familiar possível, a Dona Mônica foi quem nos atendeu e nos tratou maravilhosamente bem . Eramos 2 adultos e 3 adolescentes e foi o nosso primeiro jantar em Londres . Além da simpatia ,a confeção de toda a comida foi maravilhosa e estava tudo muito bom . O preço super ajustado e a qualidade de tudo foi irrepreensível, ainda lá voltamos mais umas 3 vezes e em todas elas fomos servidos muito bem . Só lamento não estar mais perto do centro de Londres pois teria sido a nossa escolha para todas as refeições durante a semana que por lá estivemos :) Se um dia voltarmos , garantidamente que este é o local a visitar . Mais uma vez o nosso enorme agradecimento á Dona Monica e ao seu filho que não recordo o nome que foram com quem mais lidamos . Votos do maior sucesso e que seja sempre a crescer pois merecem .

I've only ever popped in for a coffee and a cheese scone but have found both to be excellent. The staff are wonderful and always smiling and courteous. I hope to make time to pop in for something more adventurous soon. Would highly recommend a visit if you've not been already.

Most affordable breakfast option in the area, it will become my new canteen! Big filling portions. Delicious smoothies. Very fast service. Good atmosphere, its cozy, and people around are friendly. Best find near Kennington!

Only stopped for a coffee which was really good. Obviously very popular as there was a constant stream of customers on a Wednesday morning.

The customer service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. Just when you think it can't get any better, their desserts are the perfect finishing touch—sweet, indulgent, and utterly satisfying. Highly recommend for a fantastic dining experience!

Very disappointing. Chicken well cooked but very very dry. Hardly had any marinade. Had to then buy a marinade from the store. I don't think I'll be ordering again.

This came recommended by a friend so my sister and O visited for a birthday lunch. We had the set menu which was reasonable and very reasonable. The staff were delightful the restaurant lovely and food very tasty. We will definitely return

En general, muy buena comida. En particular, las gambas al ajo son increíbles, si prueba este lugar, asegúrese de ordenar las gambas! Y también un grito para el hachís de bacalao salado, muy buena comida. La selección de vinos también es muy buena , y el restaurante tiene un ambiente muy agradable con asientos «En el mostrador». Otro punto álgido fue el pastelito Pasteis de Nata simple pero tan efectivo para el desierto, con un encantador helado de canela. Una vez más, un must try. La única desventaja importante para mí, y la razón por la que no tiene 5 estrellas, es que uno de los platos que pedimos fue el arroz de pato y chorizo. Simplemente no funciona. Sabor muy limitado y poco de qué gritar, llegaría a decir que es soso. El restaurante tiene que reconsiderar este plato. No se hizo ninguna queja ya que admiro el intento de creatividad pero no funciona.

Walk in , greeted and sat down , looked around and see a lot of character and great ambience , and then , I looked at the menu and just went backwards in joy ! Couldn't really make up my mind as just everything in it looked so mouth watering ...and it was , every little bit so well cooked by the Goan Chef , that you can taste every spice , every flavor . Don't just read this , give it a go . You will not regret it !

Mis amigos familiares y yo hemos utilizado MAD durante tantos años como puedo recordar y la calidad de la bienvenida, la comida y el servicio nunca se exime, es solo pura excelencia. Sandrina y su personal siempre hacen todo lo posible para darle la mejor experiencia y bienvenida, insuperable. Muy recomendable, la prueba es que este lugar casi nunca tiene un período de tranquilidad! La gente lo usa una vez y 99. El 9 % de las veces, están enganchados y regresan una y otra vez! ¡Tan cerca de la perfección como jamás te pongas!
