A lovely interior and it's in a great location. The staff seemed super friendly and professional. They had a decent cocktail menu, but being a "Gin Bar" I feel their gin selection is pretty poor... They didn't have the first 2 gins I asked for, one of which was a very common brand. There's plenty of non specialist bars in the area with a better gin selection. I was also a bit disappointed at the lack of perfect serve. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I don't think I'll be back.

Shabby entrance belies the warm and plush interior where the welcome is warm and hospitality generous. Members only. The food menu is not huge but big enough. I would recommend either the Haddock and chips or Haggis neeps and tatties. The whisky menu on the other hand contains more than can be consumed. The expert advice from the staff will help you make good choices. The Malt of the Moment is always worth a try.

We visit West on a regular occurrence as we live in the Templeton flats. Unfortunately we have started going elsewhere now (St Luke’s, the Gate etc) as the staff are awful…they consistently change and have no retention of staff at all. They are poor, the only lady that is lovely is the only one who’s been there a while. Small, brown haired and extremely good. The menu is also absolutely shocking for gluten free, very very limited. How hard is it. It’s also getting worse and they’re one of the most expensive. Doesn’t make sense when other places are much better and cost much less. Sort the above out West and we’ll be back however unfortunately for now we won’t be.

Stumbled up on this after a long day as we parked our car right next to it. Big band - I can't believe the experience and Talent. A far too well kept secret The audience is quite mature but please do not let it stop you I can't comment on food as we just wanted to pop in to listen to a song. We were already late for a booked dinner. 20 min later we were still there, spell bound, I am sorry to say that we were the rudest customers EVER and do not even have drink. I assure you will make up for this. We will be back for a meal and with time, friends and energy. This is awesome. Do check it out. Even if you are not into big band and it's a dying art what you see there. Watch people deliver gold! I have no idea why this place was not full. The owner, staff and musicians deserve your presence, this has been so rewarding.

The Brel in Ashton Lane in Glasgow is a place that strikes you first and foremost for its atmosphere. Located in one of the most particular streets of the city, it offers a welcoming and refined environment, perfect for a relaxing evening in company. Prices are average, especially considering the area. Overall the experience is worth it.

My family was wrapping up a great trip to Scotland and this was to be our final evening meal at a strongly recommended restaurant. We were looking forward to a top notch experience. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, the food was cold, and my steak was cooked to shoe leather. I could write a lot about this but will only hit the low points. In summary, after placing our order, we waited for over an hour before our meal was starting to be served. I had to flag down a waitress and she seemed genuinely shocked that we did not have our food. When it was served, it was clear that it had been sitting around somewhere. My steak was improperly prepared, over cooked and rubbery, and again, cold. We had to flag down a waitress to tell her about our food being substandard as the original waitress disappeared. An other wait staff person came by and they offered to have another steak cooked up. As we had been at the restaurant for nearly two hours, we did not want to wait any more so she took it off the bill. She offered to send the manager over but to what purpose, I don't know. By that point, the damage had been done. Much of the wait staff were just hanging around seemingly more focused on talking to one another, They were apparently indifferent to our awful experience. They were pleasant enough when they actually came to our table but really didn't seem to care that we had a crummy meal. The kitchen was equally culpable. 35 pounds for a steak prepared and cooked by somebody who didn't have a clue is ridiculous. The bottom line is that there are much better restaurants. The Ubiquitous Chip is trading on it's name but is putting out amateurish meals. If you want to waste your money, this is the place to go. If you want a great meal, there are plenty others that don't serve chips and deliver a top notch experience. I will be sure to tell friends who will be travelling to Scotland to avoid this place.

Went to Nando’s St.Enoch square for dinner as Nando’s has always been a reliable chain for me. Restaurant was quiet with plenty of staff around. Order came of chicken with two sides - chips and sweet corn. Chips were cold - asked for some fresh and put butter on the corn. Fresh Chips came back and noticed that the butter had partly melted and then congealed on top of the corn. The corn was barely warm too. By this stage I couldn’t be bothered to ask for a fresh corn too. Really spoiled it - won’t be going back. Staff were friendly. It’s not an expensive place but also Nando’s isn’t that cheap anymore either. Very disappointed - they need to pick up their game - serving hot sides is not difficult. 😞

Restaurant closed. No sign of life. Was after opening time. Tables and chairs not yet out. Saw someone else walk away too so that's more than just me they missed out on.

Great find - best coffee I've had in Glasgow - they really know what they are doing here with the coffee. I've tried many rated coffee shops and this surpasses all by quite a way. The offered pastries were also very good. A must visit in Glasgow - you will not be disappointed..
