Bavaria Brauhaus in Glasgow City

Great food, slow service on a Saturday night I was there. Obviously good food as the place is constantly crowded. Hire more staff for busy nights.

Staff were great. Beers were great. And sitting upstairs provides a nice balcony view of the place.

Best pub in Glasgow, all clean refreshing German lagers.

Nice but expensive, from one bar to this one, our drinks order price doubled....so be careful 🧐 But a nice place to visit.

Absolutely loved this place, having been to the original Hofbrau. Great decor, even down to the toilets. Fantastic range of beers in stein or pint sizes and the sort of food you expect from a german beer haus. Has good food deals such as soup and sandwich for £8.00 with a soft drink, too. Went back because we enjoyed it so much. Definitely the best UK bavarian style beer hall I've visited. We went during the week so was easy to get a table and served etc and was nice and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff, too. Next time I visit Glasgow again I'll definitely be back!

I honestly don't understand the positive reviews and high score. First of all, a 10% service charge was added to my bill without advance notice when I was asked to pay for the order. Even in London, at least it is written on the menu, but paying for a service charge is not written anywhere in this restaurant's menus. Luckily I didn't end up paying for the service charge because the food itself wasn't good. The Schweinehaxe was completely dried out. The outer layer was way too overcooked that it became hardened and unchewable, while the inside was dried out - no normal meat juice at all. Most part of the meat inside was very hard, again most likely due to overcooking or reheating. It tasted like old meat that had been preserved with some salt. The currywurst was more edible but tasted more like hotdog with a fake curry sauce flavour. Honestly no idea why the ratings are so high, definitely not because of the food or the service.

Great traditional German Beer Hall style pub with a large selection of quality German beers on draught and an interesting food menu. Not the cheapest place at around £9 a pint but you are getting a quality beer for that price, not like the usual standard chain pub pints. Nice covered seating area at the front door as you walk in and the building itself is a really interesting layout. The pub was very clean and tidy and the staff are quick at cleaning up the tables. If you like beer and fancy something a little more high-end than than usual I'd recommend it.

Not the cheapest but great beers and food. Fantastic atmosphere. Unfortunately our server was rather grumpy to say the least and looked like the did not want to be within.

Fantastic place, food and beer selections are excellent and the building is beautiful as well. Beer flights are great for trying lots of different beers, and food portions are huge! Will definitely be back.

We’ve been there for the first time. Wasn’t sure if will be busy since it was Sunday that we wanted to go there, so we’ve booked a table. The time slot is 2 hours as per email I’ve received, but we’ve spent there around 4 hours. The atmosphere itself is good there, we liked the selection of food and drinks. Food was very delicious. Drinks a bit expensive as per half pint you can pay around £4, but depends on what drink you take. Staff were friendly, but they seemed in a way busy so to order something would be better to go straight to the main area so don’t need to wait. In general I would love to go there again and will recommend to my friends & colleagues 😋☺️

It’s a nice enough German style bar. Great selection of beer but oh my goodness the bar lady did not care at all about the customers. Completely disinterested to the point of being disrespectful. It’s better to try elsewhere when service is like this. Please try and be pleasant.

Visited here for the first time on 28/2/25 and enjoyed it so much came back again later in the day. Great choice of Weissebeers and tasty wholesome food. The table service here works extremely seamlessly even when busy staff members appear just when you want them too and work together well as a team. I call out Riccardo who was particularly exceptional, asking if we wanted desserts then returning to ask if we wanted more drinks and finally when seeing me queueing at the bar offered for me to pay at the lectern and then when I try to tip him more he was still gracious enough to say that a service charge had been included. We will be back!

Racist establishment!! Started with the waitress asking “Can I help you” when I walked in. Immediately implied I was not welcome there. But I still decided to eat anyway. Thereafter, the looks I got from these waitresses as they passed by my table and constantly stared me down like if I was some alien. Not to mention the overpriced and horrible food

Been coming here for years, friends and I have been meeting here for a weekly drink recently and always a lovely time. Food well made, drinks are good, staff friendly. A table of over 25 came in tonight which could have been stressful but the staff handled very well and were in good spirits. Will definitely be back!

Great experience and saw it as a sign as we were stuck on the bus outside in traffic 🤣 Lunchtime wasn't too busy, but great atmosphere all the same and good food and beer. Partner almost went viral after I posted this video of him flipping bar coasters on Instagram 🤣 I think he could have done more, but the tables around us were occupied!

It's a pub German beer Hall style serving food. And German bier.

Amazing food and drinks. Loved the oompah band. Atmosphere was amazing with everyone joining the choruses. Only complaint was the bar staff were overwhelmed with orders so was a long wait to order drinks at the bar. But worth the trip out.

Place was quiet but told us last orders was being called early and to order drinks. Then told us to leave 10 minutes later. Staff not pleasant at all. Cant say they were accommodating at all

The Bavarian Goulash is the finest I've tasted. The atmosphere is genuine and authentic Bavarian. They got it right.

The staff and the atmosphere were lovely, warm and inviting. A nice place to be on a winters visit. The food is possibly just not to my taste. Haven't tried everything on the menu though of course! I like coming here for a drink :)

Hair in my burger and the waiter ignored my complaint. HOWEVER, we were here in 2018/19 and there was this lovely waitress that really made our experience top tier- Emma/Emily? Very tall young girl. She went above and beyond for us and we still talk about her yet when we are In a restaurant. Not sure if she still works here I remember she said she was at uni. She made my wife’s 50th birthday so memorable and paid for her meal with her own money! Such a kindhearted young woman. I hope that girl got the praise she deserves!!

We had a waiter with a beard and he was obnoxious,rude , and just couldn't be bothered he left us sitting for ages without drinks and food while he chatted to his work colleagues we had a party of five but we won't be back if it wasn't for the food quality I would have given one star on all categories but they didn't have half the menu available.

Pasaron 45 minutos entre nuestro motor de arranque y el principal y cuando preguntamos nos dijeron “bueno, te acabo de quitar el motor de arranque, así que pasará un rato”, a pesar de que nuestro motor de arranque se había sentado en la mesa durante tres cuartos de hora. El puré fue instantáneo, la salsa también era claramente bisto - ambos que no pedimos, pero en este punto estábamos hambrientos, así que comimos la comida equivocada de todos modos. Sin embargo, los bratwursts eran increíbles - absolutamente la gracia salvadora de este lugar. El personal también estaba muy bien informado sobre los diferentes tipos de cerveza, que era muy útil para un novato en cerveza como yo!

Been twice. First time the food was good, second time no so good. I’ve ordered a pork knuckle and meat wasn’t tender and no offence but it was stinking. You should be able to pull off the bone and meat to fall apart but it wasn’t like that at all. Mash was luke warm so it was gravy. Overall food needs to get improved. Staff friendly and decent beers. Would go back but wouldn’t order the knuckle unless it’s soft and perfect

A re-enactment of the classic German October fest. Typical German dishes. That evening there was a band of trumpeters playing all kinds of music. A really good show. The food was good and the place decorated for Christmas was very nice. Only flaw dishes a bit expensive

I’ve been a regular at your restaurant and often plan my trips to Glasgow around having lunch here, as it takes me over an hour on the train to get to you. The food has always been fantastic, which is why I’ve continued to come back. However, I have to say that the service has been steadily declining over my last few visits, with today being the worst experience I’ve had. Despite arriving first, I wasn’t offered a drink while a family of four who arrived after me was served promptly. After waiting for over ten minutes, I had to go to the bar myself to get a drink. Throughout the visit, the staff seemed dismissive and gave the impression that they didn’t care. This made me feel unwelcome, which is disappointing given how much I enjoy the food. At the end of the meal, a service charge was added without prior notice, which I didn’t mind, but when I asked if I could add a little extra, the response from the staff was dismissive. I don’t know if this treatment was related to my age or something else, but the overall experience felt far below the standard I’ve come to expect from your restaurant.

If your hungry avoid, if you want nice beer then its ok. But myself and 4 others went in on Wed Night 18/10. The food was vile. We had the ribs sharer starter, there was no meat on them it was all bone cartilage and not very warm. For mains One had the Pizza type bread - They said it was good. One had the chicken burger that was that dry the only managed 3 bites. One had the fish. It smelled strange, the batter was so soggy as if microwaved. Also had a strange taste again very little eaten. The chips were cold. One had the 1/2 Chicken. Again was incredibly dry. Their chips were cold too. We tried to get a waitress but there was none around. Will not be back. If you want a pint and drink go to witherspoons and pick the sausage and pint and save the money.

We visited here on a work night out, the place was nice, the beer was nice and the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, would definitely visit again.

Good bar with great German beers on tap. Food was good but could be better. Gets pretty loud with stag parties in the evenings so if you want to try some good beers and relax then going during the day is probably best.

The closest thing we have to a Munich bier halle. Much smaller but an amazing selection and really friendly/prompt staff. We were here for oktoberfest and they have 5 out of the big 6 on tap. Absolutely brilliant and the service was non stop. The currywurst was to die for. I've been here a few times and it's the atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon and proper German beer that always brings me back.

One of the very best beer halls in Glasgow with a great range of German beers, although ot was fairly quiet, service wasn't as attentive as previous visits.

Great service, staff are friendly and nice, great beer selection along with outdoor seating. Tbh I'd recommend inside just due to the atmospheric interior. Looks amazing inside and is well kept and clean. Didn't have food so can't comment on that but there seemed to be a decent choice of warm authentic meals On the menu. Not sure what it's like on a Fri sat nite as the twice I have been was during the day, but was still a great exp mainly due to the staff and products on offer. A must visit if your in town!

Quality German food and great range of beers. Excellent service and relaxing atmosphere. Very dog friendly too. The schnitzel is absolutely outstanding! Much better vegetarian / vegan options than you might think too. Can heartily recommend this place.

Food and drinks are outstanding and had an amazing time during my stag do were the staff were eager to show me a hospitable and good time! Having loved in Germany previously and eaten the cooking of my German Aunt the food ranks extremely highly not to mention the stein's mean that you can get your Oktoberfest conditioning training done in the off-season and save yourself on bar trips!

Lagers are awesome,nice selection of good German beers. Tried most of them before but not the Hacker pschorr gold and as always it was lovely.

This isn’t my favourite place in Glasgow, as I’m not a beer lover, but I’ve been a few times. It’s a pretty cold place in winter, especially if you’re in the middle of the downstairs hall. Great range of beer and drinks here - albeit pretty expensive, depending on what you choose. The staff are nice and service was quick. The food is great - good greasy deliciousness. Worth a visit, if only to see the decor and sample a beer you might not get elsewhere.

A group of us dropped in for lunch before a day out, and enjoyed our lunch and drinks. The staff were helpful when selecting our choice of beer and got it spot on the. The Bratwurts we all had were excellent and helped set us up for the day ahead.

A really nice idea to bring something German into a big city like Glasgow. The concept is based on Bavarian cuisine/design. The food was ok, the meat tasted very good, but overall the German implementation is a bit off. Nevertheless, there is a welcoming atmosphere and good German beers to drink there.
