Bavaria Brauhaus in Glasgow City

Everything was great! A place I wanted to visit for a long time. Lovely authentic Bavarian food and atmosphere! Will definitely go back next time in Glasgow!

Stopped by here with a friend the other week as we were looking for somewhere to have dinner. We came across the Bavaria Brauhaus and the menu looked good! Luckily the food didn’t disappoint, it was delicious and they had so many good veggie and vegan options! I got the cauliflower bites and the jalapeño loaded fries, while my friend got the Classic Bratwurst. We also had a cocktail each which were stunning. I highly recommend stopping by for food or drinks. The service was good and we will be back soon!!

Did not have food. However staff were rude and quite frankly did not add anything to help make the end of my nieces 18th birthday a good one. Will not be back.

Been here a few times just for the food. As a German, I loved seeing some Flammkuchen here. Relatively kept traditional. Staff is local, though the owner seems to be German. Beers are kind of expensive but I imagine it is due to the import costs. Still a great place.

I love this place. Very different interior to other places in Glasgow giving a real authentic German beer hall experience. The staff and service are always super amazing. A must visit for those who love a good German beer. The food is great too. Some might find this place expensive as you pay for what you get.

This isn’t my favourite place in Glasgow, as I’m not a beer lover, but I’ve been a few times. It’s a pretty cold place in winter, especially if you’re in the middle of the downstairs hall. Great range of beer and drinks here - albeit pretty expensive, depending on what you choose. The staff are nice and service was quick. The food is great - sometimes greasy but delicious. Worth a visit, if only to see the decor and sample a beer you might not get elsewhere.

Building has tons of character. Been in a few times but never had a seat yet . Booking advised.

My favourite place to drink in Glasgow. Great beers, great staff, great food, great atmosphere. A little expensive but worth every penny. Caters well for nut and peanut allergies.

Passing by and went in....great atmosphere and a young persons place but different from anywhere in city...choice of drinks very good as were the staff....recommended

If you’re German and especially if you’re Bavarian, don’t eat here. No decent German beers either. Schnitzel dried and half burnt to a crisp, sauerkraut dreadful and salad (rocket) half DOA. Don’t eat here, but as a beer hall with lots of blokes and noise, perfect.

This was the third time i've been but this time was more special. Was a big night for a colleague retiring and had it booked for ages. Staff were more than helpful throughout and big thanks to them for making the night a absolute cracker. We ordered a few mixed platters for the table and then it was steins of Pauliner and Jeagers galore. What an night and highly recommend anyone to give it a try. Food was sensational and the beers were dynamite and we were all more than burst when leaving. Top venue 👌

Truly Bavarian experience in Glasgow. Pretzels are always a winner. Plenty European and Bavarian beer choices.

Great bar, visited on a work trip, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on the drinks being sold, would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Cracking pub, atmosphere drinks and food were all spot on. Staff were superb also. Couldn't fault anything.

Waited 2 hours for food despite it being quiet, the bratwurst was okay but have got food poisoning I imagine from the chicken goujons.

Decent German beer hall, excellent selection of beers from Germany but service wasn't too great. Bit slow as only a few people serving in a Saturday and if you want a table book in advance.

Food is good, although the fish option wasn't available which was annoying.. Staff lovely.

Great choice of drinks and nice atmosphere.

Great food and a favourite of workers in groups. Table service is excellent until you've finished your meal and they want the table back...then they stop coming round to take orders. Similarly, when it gets to around 50% occupancy, the early afternoon staff struggle until the evening shift can back them up. There isn't really an atmosphere on here outside of your group, just loud music. Decor adds to the theme and overall a good place for a staff lunch.

Nice place for quick hangout. Have good list of beers and whiskeys available. Service is great and attentive to the comsumers. Very less wait time between order placement and order delivery. Atmosphere is nice.

But pricey but the atmosphere and brass band make up for it, The bar staff are great too.

The worst Bavarian food experience ever. Starting form schnitzel coated in weird spices and what it looked like battered instead of breadcrumbed, sauerkraut and red cabbage coated in vinegar (inedible), Bavarian patato salad half cooked... The only good thing on the plate was a mushroom sauce... The staff was attentive and polite hence 4 stars for service, and the atmosphere ok. Good selection of beers...

This has to be seen & sampled. Excellent venue for a few beers . Food was top notch but service ends at 19.30. Only a bar menu is offered.

Had a few drinks in here with my father and brothers on a night out It's always busy and fun Definitely on theme - staff in full lederhosen etc but nice inside and good service We had beer flights which are a good way to try new beers Also a good whisky selection for my dad Didn't have food but everything looked good as a large group were in for dinner The toilets are very cool as it's an old bank and vault details have been retained

Lets be honest, you're going for a big stein of beer. They do that really well, otherwise everything else is just okay.

Good selection of German beer, menu looked interesting also but didn't eat. Atmosphere during the day was pretty flat, I imagine this is an evening place.

Watch out for the 'discretionary' 10% charge they add on without telling you.

Nice German themed pub for big groups. Prices are a bit more expensive but a nice range of drink selection is available. Also love the pretzels 👍

Friendly efficient staff, but grim overpriced food and (unnecessary) music turned up too high to enable conversation.

Obsługa nie zbyt miła,na posiłek długo trzeba było czekać. Całe zamówienie było chłodne i wysuszone, wręcz nie nadające się do siedzenia, nawet trudne do pokrojenia a w środku niedogotowane ( golonka) Na pewno już tego miejsca nie odwiedzę.

If you like variety of beer this is the place for you. Staff very knowledgeable about beers and let you try a sample to see which one you prefer.

Really impressed by this place, been to beer houses in Germany and other countries and this one really captures the German style perfectly. A good selection of German beers and decent food menu. What makes this like their German counterparts is the little touches, having cola Weiss beer on the drinks list, goulash on the food menu, things you’ll find in Germany but not seen them in the UK. Big thumbs up to the staff who were friendly and quick to serve despite it being a very busy day due to the Scotland v England game, highly recommend

Love a family meal in here. The kids love it too. Great beer and very nice food although the goujons, which used to be out of this world are just average now. Noticed they charge a service charge too, which I don't like. Hopefully this is new as I always leave a good tip.

We tried different types of bratwursts. All were really great. It is worth to get and share the bier battered or bier glazed ones for £17 as they come with two bratwursts as opposed to 1 classic bratwurst for £12 which I found a bit pricey. The atmosphere is very good with live music, although a little bit loud if you want to chat.

For years I have been a regular customer lunching there once a week. But not anymore. I ordered a Bavarian goulash which I enjoyed previously, but today was a disappointment. The goulash was more like a soup with very little Meat and Veg. Then I ask a waitress for some extra bread for the Goulash. I waited and waited. Didn't turn up. Then another staff member (owner's daughter) comes to the table and asks if everything is Ok. I told her I ordered some bread. Response was a smile, she said oh! and then she wonders off and attends other tables. I waited another couple of minutes and gave up and paid the bill. I won't be back.

Had a great experience here. We got a table for 2 no problem. The service was brilliant. All the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. We got the classic platter to share which was absolutely brilliant. Tasty, filling and great quality. We would travel up to Glasgow just for this, absolutely no problem. The place has a great atmosphere. It's really clean and there's a great selection of drinks. My fiancé loves German beer whereas I'm a wine drinker (though I did try the raspberry radler, which was nice!). We both had a lovely time here and found the prices reasonable too.

Arrived at 10pm on a Thursday, was immediately told last orders were in 15 mins despite (apparently) closing at 12pm. Beer was good and the staff did their job, but it was a strange vibe. The staff seemed quite moody and wanting to close ASAP, didn't even bother cleaning the table we went to because 'it was the only one she hasn't cleaned' Last orders were actually at 10:45 and there were a fair few people still about, but the full lights came on at 11pm and we felt shooed out in all but being told to. I'm sure it's very different on weekends but we expected a more lively time.

Great German beer selection, with lagers, wheats and fruit beers amongst the wide draught selection, along with loads of bottled beer. Food also looked good.

We went out on a Friday and have to say I can’t fault it. Atmosphere was 10/10 from the moment you walked in. We ordered the Wurst Platter and BBQ loaded fries and they were absolutely amazing. Tried the Löwenbrau and that was great too! Overall 10/10 would heavily recommend.

Only in for a beer in the afternoon to check the place out and it was pretty busy. Big selection of wheat beer etc. and we had absolutely no idea what one to get. What we did buy was good though. We never ordered food but what we saw other people buying looked delicious. Think you could have a really good time in here as there is an oompah band on later in the evening and I'm sure after a few beers it would be a hoot. Knocked a star off as there wasn't enough seating available unless you were eating. Was room upstairs but it looked closed until later, maybe I'm wrong here? Toilets downstairs which doesn't help anyone who has mobility issues. Not the owners fault and a lot of bars/restaurants in Glasgow seem to have this. Overall we enjoyed our wee visit to this place. Think it might be advisable to book if your looking for dining in.

The food wasn't so fresh but the staff and atmosphere was incredible.

Nice venue, great for socialising in groups larger than 6. Great beer selection, good food options, good layout, authentic Southern German Bavarian look. Toilets good and clean. The big letdown was the appalling service. It was not that busy when we visited, so why did a server only show up after 10+ minutes of waiting? The service continued like this throughout the evening, as the place emptied. Unfortunately, unless they can improve service and despite the choices on offer, I would hesitate to return as the service was so very poor; suicide for a hospitality venue in the present climate. Owners - please fix this or look forward to bankruptcy.

Very busy for a Thursday at 6pm. Couldn't get a table. Food was ok (although mine was overcooked/burnt) but beer was good. Very expensive - more than £6/pint

Brilliant place! The wonderful staff managed to squeeze in our party of 12 without a reservation on a busy night. The food was absolutely amazing and our beer drinkers were also very happy.

I’m german, came for a Schnitzel, just to learn that they ran out of them, and that they regularly do so on Sundays. I mean running out of Schnitzel in a german restaurant is like running out of pizza at dominoes. I can’t think of any good reason or excuse for that. The food we got instead was just about bearable. Not really good but also not completely inedible. Bland, despite all the salt. Fries weren’t authentic. Side salad was a disappointment. Wouldn’t go there if it was in Germany. Service was friendly, but slow. Took over 30 min for the food to arrive. And we got the wrong drinks. And the pint of coke was just a half pint, with the other half ice cubes. Unthinkable in a german restaurant in Germany. And the straw was too short for the glass. Just lacking big time in the attention to detail. All in all very disappointing, won’t go again, and can’t recommend. Shame.

Went here with my partner and kids was chased out the door and accused of not paying the bill very embarrassing thankfully the girl who took the payment was at the door and cleared things up
